It is huge, the building seems to go on and on. Here's a picture and then one of our pastor Jon Weece. He's a young one but so very likeable.

Arnie- I actually have a definite answer to that question- FINALLY! I start chemo on the 26th. I can't remember how much of the story I have told here, but I am doing the Avastin clinical trial. The clinical trial nurse has been setting everything up and it has moved pretty slowly and there are conditions that had to be met for the trial. Anyway, she had wanted me to start on the 25th until I reminded her that was a holiday. The clinic is closed that day, so that was out. We moved it to the 26th, but then she called and told me that my chest x-ray and EKG that were done right before the surgery might need to be repeated if we wait until the 26th. She wasn't sure and was going to have someone check on it. She suggested then maybe starting on the 19th. This past Friday afternoon I had not heard from her and I was getting pretty anxious about it. Knowing that I might be starting on the 19th but not knowing anything for sure was really stressful. When I hadn't heard from her by 2:00 Friday afternoon, I called her. She told me the lady arranging everything and who could answer if the test results would still be valid on the 26th was out with a sick child. I have all the sympathy in the world for that, but I needed an answer! Finally she told me that to make things easier and since I really needed to know, lets go ahead and start on the 19th. I was pretty freaked and felt really rushed, but agreed to that. A few minutes later she called me back and told me the 19th wouldn't work as they might not have my drugs in by then. She wanted to move it back to the 26th and if we need to repeat the chest x-ray and the EKG then I would just repeat them. They are no big deal anyway. So after much back and forth and indecision and run-around...yeah, I was pretty frustrated by it all, I am definitely starting on the 26th. I will have DD AC x 4 and Taxol x 12 (weekly) plus Avastin or the placebo. I haven't even had my chemo training yet so I was really freaked about starting on Tuesday! Now I will have lab work this week and chemo training and I won't be so rushed after all. I feel much better about it. I'm ready to get started though so I can get it over with! So, that is my long story!

I hope they get your port problems figured out. Mine was hurting this morning, but now it has calmed down again. I think sometimes I just irritate it with too much movement. Good luck on your third treatment. Won't be long and the AC will be behind you!! Then do you start Taxol?

Coonie-  Thanks for the good wishes!

Kimberly-  Am I counting right? Do you have seven children? Lucky you! I grew up the youngest of five and my house is so quiet sometimes compared to how I grew up. I am childless (not by choice).

    Lol...mom2two   Happy thoughts...happy thoughts...happy thoughts...lol

TexasRose...wow...you've been through it haven't you?  Yes it's frustrating at times and then the unknown is always there...  I'll be praying for you on the 26th..already marked it on the calendar.

We just have to get through it right???   I do two more AC then 4 Taxotere every three weeks, then rads.  So mine won't be as long as yours but I'll be here to cheer you on!  In the meanwhile, I know these ladies will be cheering all of us on that are doing "our time".  I love these people!  My dh even tells me that he's gonna get on here sometime to thank you ladies for keeping me sane! lol

Wow...that's a big family!!!  I grew up with 5 brothers and sisters...it was great!!!  Still is, although we're down to five since my sweet sis Margee passed in Nov. 2008.  That's why I think it was so hard for my siblings to hear my dx in Jan.

OK.........Happy thoughts, happy thoughts, happy thoughts!!!

OMGoodness Kimberly! Wowwwwwwwww. Wowwwwwwwwwwwww. That's alot of kiddywinks!..

Faith, thank you lovey for your touching statement to all the gals. That was a beautiful way to reach out. I have had a look at your stuff on your blog briefly, gosh, you are 1 super acheiving wowan. Am in awe of your energy and "multi talentednessssss"! I think i will be shopping for didies for my little guy(songs cds), just coudn't get the sample to play. I'll visit again when I can. Off to hospital for a check up tomorrow, nothing much just a wee race into London then back again for the school run.

Lovingmama, btw: I had 4 drains, but had to stay in hospital for more then 2 weeks with them. At our hospital, the "ladies, friends of the Marsden" volunteers made little sweet "drain bags" with little handles that you could gather up when you went for a walk. They were made of sturdy but beautiful upholstery material, so they washed well between customers. They sure made it easier! Just an idea to pass on to your hospital! I think they got the material from Sample books and donations.Take care of you as much as you can.

Arnie, still praying you get comfortable soon with minimum intervention. hang in there! Are you half way through your chemo now? How many rounds?

Coonie, been to Walmart? I'm still in decluttering mood, so I dare say, I might even behave if I was in there.. well.. ok, maybe not (who am I kidding!). Nice pics of your pool btw.( I know it's way back but bare with me, am just totally swamped with school transition and tribunal prep stuff for my little guy, and getting organized for a party for my little DD. All is going well( that is I am working towards success), it's just lots of stuff.and you know me, positive, cheerful, just whooped like a lemon.

Makraz, a bientot allors! I best keep an eye on my spelling if you are going to "google my bla bla bla!"

Mom, I think I heard right that you are taking a break from work! Oh, lovely kids grow up so fast, and you sooo deserve a break. Hope you have a lovely restful summer and lots of fun spontanious stuff. Hand hope I'll hear all about it here! Good for you for taking a break.

Hi texas Rose, hang in there. Chemo is doable. hugg, hugg hugg.

All my bestest vibes ladies, Sending you my top quality huggs over right now.

    You are ALL so lovely!

Shiny girl............it's so good to see your post. Sure wish I could take a wee race into London......hehe......Hope your checkup goes great.

I do have to go to Walmart, but it's only to buy things for our upcoming trip to NYC. Yep!!!!!!!!! That's New York City...........country come to town!! Been one time, spent one night there and told DH.............get me out of here!! I was scared to death. Never in  my life have I seen so many people in one place. We'll be staying in Times Square. Did that last time.......was walking on the sidewalk and walked right past a man with a snake (HUGE) draped across his shoulders. I mean that snake touched the ground on both sides. It TOUCHED my arm!!!!!!!!!! Gave me the heebie jeebies.......went to my hotel room and didn't come out until the next morning after my DH rearranged all of our travel plans to LEAVE and fly to Branson.........I'm gonna be brave this time.......got my big girl panties.....gotta see the sites and LIVE a little. Don't ya think? As long as I don't see any snakes............ewwwhhhhhhh

Arnie, THANK YOU for the sweet cute pic, love it. Gosh you girls are good with that stuff!

Coonie, go for it! I sure hope it's brill! Give us the dates so we can sent you some special "protective vibes" to ensure the Native NY reptiles don't venture anywhere near you!

Re Glare Arnie: In London, it's different too but more like, it's an unspoken rule in some parts that you don't look directly in people's eyes, just cast your eyes a wee bit down, it's odd. You have to adjust to it, but following that rule is purely personal choice.   On the whole people are nice just more reserved then in US or Canada.     When I moved here years ago, I used to look staight into people's eyes, smile and say "morning" etc.. well, that got me into sooo much trouble as I had these rich older men thinking I was making a pass at them, when I was just being friendly! oh boy! So, I adjusted things a bit, and toned things done a weeee bit. Still can't resist a cheerful "morning" as I walk down the street, but I know now there are some people us just best not do "that" to. Funny. anyhoo, am don't look like I did in my early twenties either, so that helps? humm, guess that is 1 advantage.

DH just calling me to "come to bed" it's walk to school week  so early out in the a.m then straight to london, and my feet aches loads all ready. Just popped a few MINOR painkillers, so off to bed 11:30 pm.

    Night night loveys,

    Shiny

A great big, heart felt "You're Welcome" regarding 'our' t-shirt.

Please accept my apologies to all whose names didn't make the need to get out the door.... and a huge oops to our founder, as I botched your nick name in the early morning hours.

Hopefully all get the idea of being included -- even if my follow thru left a little to be desired.

Anywho. I'm safely settled into my digs for the next three nights & the web connection seems pretty dependable. So I'm smiling!

I won't even see my house for this entire week -- so definitely no cleaning for me. (So what else is new, I hear you nay-sayers saying. LOL)

    Hey Gals!

Mom, I gotta find a church. Haven't been in years. Last church I went to...went to it for 7 years, the Pastor got busted buying drugs in Denver and having a sexual relationship w/his male drug dealer....Yeah, it was Ted Haggard. Poor guy. I really feel sorry for him.

Prior to that, the church I went to, the Pastor embezzeled over $20 grand of the building fund money & ran off with it. Before that, the chuch I went to the Pastor left his wife & 7 Kids & ran off with his secretary.....The pressure on these guys must be emmense. I started going to New Life (Ted Haggard's church) when it was only 150 people and we all sat in folding chairs.

Coonie, when you go to NYC, make sure you look for the naked cowboy. I think he still hangs out in Times Square. I'll have to ask my cousin for sure. He's the one who wears the star spangled undies and plays the guitar.

Shiney & Jayne, where in the UK are you? I had a good friend in Shropshire. We used to have so much fun her teaching me midland slang terms...as well as cockney slang. I was tending bar/ waiting tables at the time and often got customers in from the UK. I had a go at the slang she tried to teach me but usually flubbed it up til we were all laughing so hard we were choking.

Barbe, you'd better rest-up after your B-day party. You've been a busy girl.

Makraz, hope the weather is nice for you tomorrow.

Arnie, still wanna know about your port.

Mary, thank goodness you know. Am thinking good thoughts for a s/e free treatmentf

Faith, enjoy your 3 day respite! Glad you had just a bit of good weather while on your trip.

Sharon, Welcom back & good to see you again. Shucks. Spittin' ain't so country! 'Taint nuthing wrong with that!

Deb, hope things are going well for you.

Lordy, I didn't mean to forget anyone. Please forgive me if I have. You've all been such a comfort to me.

Tomorrow I will go to the dollar store and hit the ARC store ( I don't like shopping at Goodwill) to pick up last minuet items. Tuesday, 2 pm mast.

I'm not the least bit scared or worried. Ya'll've put my mind at ease. The hardest part will be NO COFFEE in the morning! (you know, no food or drink from midnight on...)

I'm finishing up a last few loads of bedding & pillows tonight & giving the bedroon & bathroom one last scrubdown....that's my housework for the next week.

Phew.....and to all a good night!

Oh! Grand Children! I forgot to tell you all! My #1DS stopped by on Mothers Day to tell me he and his wife are pregnant....1st time! He was so giddy, I thought he was going to hypervenelate! She's stunned. One would think she didn't know how it happened! She is an intellegent girl & I like her. (good credit score too! lol)

This is my 2nd grandbaby (1st one was from #2DS) but I don't get to see my 1st at all....nasty divorce. I don't think that'll happen in  this case.

#1DS is bald, baby is due in late Jan or Feb. Maybe my hair will still be short enough we can take a trio-pic! What a HOOT!

Coonie, I don't know how long it's been since your last trip to NYC, but it changed a lot since I grew up a 20 minute bus ride away.  The peep shows and xxx movies are gone from the Times Square area, replaced with Disney Shows and Madame Treasau's (sp?).  Bryant Park (behind the library) has gone from a hook up spot for whatever to nice place to sit with the family.  You can still count on seeing the unusual mixed in wherever you go, and nobody seems to react.

I still can't believe that my parents let me go there alone as a teenager, but since my Dad grew up in the city, and my Mom commuted there to work at the same age they started letting me go on my own...

The museums are wonderful, and Central Park is beautiful.  Chinatown is always fun, and Little Italy turns into a street fair in September for San Genaro.  We've made many day trips with the kids (no sense paying to stay in the city when Dad's house is free) and my Dad and Mother-in-Law.

    Edited to add:

Can't forget about the Broadway shows!!!  There are always bargains available at tkts, or thru Playbill.com.

Hey, girlz!  Just a shout & a wave to let you know I'm still breathing.  Had one of those weeks when I guess I was hit with a wave of PTSD, prompted by a visit to the rad onc for a check-up (waste of a good afternoon) & several phone calls attempting to get organized so I can finally file a claim on my supplemental health insurance for all the crap I've been through. Just what I wanted to do on my days off -- relive the whole bleeping adventure!  Does anyone besides me experience a huge wave of irrational resentment going to yet another doctor's appointment for one of these endless check-ups??

Hope you all had great Momma's Days.  I had a fabulous massage last weekend.

I need a vacation soooo bad......

Lursa if someone is human then he or she can fall prey to all kinds of temptations, even Pastors. God knew we needed Jesus plain and simple to make that way for us. So I try to keep my eyes on Him and not on man. That way you will never be disappointed. Somewhere near you there has to be a solid church you can find some great friends to fellowship with. No one should go through these times on their own.

Coonie she actually did a wonderful job with the house and says she is going to pick up again tomorrow. My brother is staying with us for a while and is having a colonoscopy tomorrow so I will be taking him and then doing a last round of home visits so she gets to do the home cleaning. Actually got the kitchen done tonight to make it easier for her.

KAK sending a big old (((((((((((hug)))))))))))) your way for tomorrow to be a sunnier outlook.

Hey there all. yes you all did the math right and there are 7 kids!!! Yes they are all mine and all single births!  No wonder my house looks like a hurricane hit it.

Well, the motorhome was a no go. The guy lied about its condition, the miles on it and many other things.  GRRRR!!!  Why do people do that. he drove 500 miles to go see it and we asked the guy specifically if there was anything wrong, if the glass was good, how many miles were on it..... Did he think we would not notice the 2 broken/cracked windows, or the fact that the odomoter quit working about 50,000 miles ago?????? Or how about the fact that siding was all cracked and looked like it had been in a wreck!

Hello everyone, I am new to this thread. I have been very focused on getting through surgery, but now I can think about other things.

Lursa you sound like me the weekend before my surgery, I was trying to get enough housework done to last for a while. It worked and I didn't need to feel embarassed by the state of the place when friends called to see me when I got home from hospital. I was told no hoovering for 6 weeks but I don't always do as I am told so I have done a tiny bit of hoovering. Well I am right handed and I had a left mastectomy. I live in Staffordshire, which is in the West Midlands and borders on Shropshire. I probably use some of the same slang terms as your friend. I have an American SIL and I know I have picked up some American expressions from her and her family, so my British friends sometimes look at me as if to say "what are you talking about?" Two nations separated by a common language we always say.

Now the sun has come out for a change so I am off to open up my greenhouse and see what is doing in the garden.
