Good morning ladies....look what I woke up to this a.m. Precious!
My sister-in law and nieces....walked in the 5K in Ann Arbor, Mi Saturday and did it in honor of me....oh my goodness, had already put my make-up on...bawled like a baby...gotta go reapply my make-up! lol
Jayne !!! You're gonna love it here!!
(((((((((Hugs to all)))))))))) off for my testing...
-
Jayne glad to have you here but no housework for the 6 weeks!
-
Oh Arnie, that was lovely!!! Good luck, gentle hugs.
-
Arnie and Lursa
-
Arnie, please post as soon as you know whether your port is working. I'm biting my nails for you, so don't do yours!
Lursa, we need to hear from you on Wednesday to let us know how y'all did.
17 GRANDCHILDREN???? Are you kidding me? How many kids do you have to have to make sure you get 17 grandchildren? How the heck do you keep their names separate?
Deb, very good pun, indeedy!
Mary, good luck on your set-up for chemo next week.
Linda, do you have an empty house yet? How do the new floors look? Do you miss your island?
And, as usual, I've run out of memory....sigh.
Hugs to everyone else. You done good!

Coonie...no fishing lately for me. I've been far too busy at my son's little league games, practices, batting cages. it's fun. it's social. It keeps me from having to clean house...lol
-
Arnie thinking about you BIG TIME this morning. Sending out the bestest vibes and prayers that I can muster up!!! Can't wait to hear back from you. And wow!!!!!!!!!!! What a great pic. It's obviously your family loves you very much.....not just your sistahs here either. Your BLOOD family.........lol Good luck today!!!
Stacy.....sounds like you're having a good time.......even if you're not fishing. Is "fishboy" still around? Going to ballgames, etc?
Sharon if it was that easy for our memory, I need to stock up.....hehe
Mom I'm glad DD is still keeping things up! Doesn't that just make it so much easier??? MY DD is starting a summer job today. She'll be working about 20 hours a week, keeping 3 small children for a family in town. She's looking forward to it. The baby girl is 3 months, one little boy is 5 yrs and the other boy is 8 yrs. They're good kids, so I think she'll enjoy it. She's rather keep kids than clean house-----------ANY OLE DAY!! haha
Jayne.......so glad you're joining us....this is the best bunch of ladies you'll ever get to know:)
-
Hey there girlfriends!!! No house work for me today. i helped mom yesterday witha bit of folding clothes. 3 of my kids have some work in their room this am and then we hit softball nad baseball games this week. 7 of them!!!! At least if they are gone, the house should stay cleaner.
-
Good concept Kimberly! Let's see how that works for you! ehhehehehee
-
Good morning Kimberly and Barbe. Hope you ladies have a great Monday.
Barbe, hope you survived your birthday weekend. Now you're counting down till the wedding, huh? I know you're gonna have a blast. When do you leave?
Kimberly....do your kids all play on the same team? How do you split up and watch all of them if they don't? You need to be COMPLETELY excused from all housework FOREVER. When 7 kids, I'm sure as soon as you clean something, within minutes it's back the way it was. Unless you have some great kids. hehe
-
Coonie - next time I dream of housework I will definitely dream I am doing it at your house - what the hey.
Thanks Barbe for the points.
Mom2two: Flavored shaved ice cones are my favorite. I bought a cheap little snow cone maker at Wal-Mart along with sugar-free syrups. So for 5-10 calories I can have a snow cone. Thank goodness for chemicals (the syrup).
-
Hey thanks Kathleen....if you could have that dream tonight, I sure would appreciate it. That way, I wouldn't have to do anything:) hehe.......if it were only that easy, huh?
Have a great day!!
-
Arnie- Prayers and (((hugs))) for today! Let us know as soon as you can!
Jayne- Welcome! It's nice to have you join us!!
Good grief, it's 9:15 here in Central Texas and the clinical trial nurse has already called to change my lab appt. As long as the chemo start doesn't change! These lab appts have all changed so many times, I hardly know when they are now!
I am breaking the rules today ladies. I am going to do some cleaning. I need to get some done because I know that I'm not going to want to do much next week after the first chemo. Some things I just can't put off anymore. My DH wants me to hire a cleaning service during chemo, but I admit that I don't want to. I would feel so useless if I couldn't even take care of my own house. My plan is to see how it goes and if I am too tired, then I will hire somebody. Wish I had a DD to do it!
Off to bank some housework points!
It's a beautiful and sunny day here!
-
Hey MaryRose....good morning to you. The first day or two after I got chemo, I worked like a mad woman around my house. I think it was from the steroids they gave me during chemo. Kept me up at night and I felt great for a couple of days. Then usually day 3 it hit ....uggghhhhhh
Best of luck to you and I'm sendin you good vibes and lots of prayers!!
-
Hi Coonie! Somebody else told me that same thing...said they finally learned to just stay up all night after treatment because there wasn't any sleeping going on! Thanks for the prayers!
-
Hi Ladies,
I miss keeping in touch but just can't due to the condition of my house. My floors are still being done. The have done a good amount but have a long way to go. They are going to tear out the kitchen subfloor either later today or tomorrow. That means my stove and fridge will no longer be in the kitchen. It makes cooking really challenging. At least I can use the grill. The flooring that is in looks great! I do miss my island but will figure out how to get one back when this project is complete. I may reuse the old one, put it on casters so I can move it around, and get new counter tops for it.
KAK so good to hear from you.
Arnie, great picture! Your family loves you!! Good luck today!!
Welcome Jayne!
Whoever asked if it will slow down for me when school gets out.........NO WAY!! That's when I work over time. Since I have a pool, we call my back yard the local camp ground. The boys always have friends over so I will have a housefull of kids from June to Sept. It's exhausting, but I'm sure you all went through this when you had kids that were 10 and 14.
Caligirl, I bet your life is a lot like mine! Boy are kids busy today!!
KMmccraw - you can dream about doing housework at my house anytime!!!!!!!!
Mary, break the rules!! I bet you will be 'nesting' before your treatments. So many of us do.
Love to all!
-
Good morning to all my super duper housecleaning friends!! Life is great here....the sun is shining...the weather is lovely..."fish" didn't have time for a relationship...well...who really knows, but as nice as he was and as much fun as we had....i couldn't see it working out long term. He was, sad to say, far too poor to even consider dating, what with 1 full time job and 1 that he worked every other weekend...and still didn't have enough money to buy himself more than store brand hot dogs and white bread. Isn't that horrible? I felt BAD when he spent his money on me as I knew he didn't have it to spend. Heck, I think it broke the bank for him to drive the 20 miles from his house to mine. Is ok though.... I wasn't in love with him....nowhere near it. I didn't let it bother me either. I went out on saturday night with my wonderful girlfriends. Woo Hoo.. ladies night!!
yes, Linda, my life is a bit like yours.... kids ARe busy these days. Thank god for Boy scouts though.... one weekend a month he will be going camping, except for June...he will be gone a whole week!!!
-
Barbe....I have 3 kids of my own and two stepdaughters...
Mine: Michelle-1 girl, 3 boys
Lorie- 5 girls (all under the age of 7!)
Will-2 girls
His: Shelli- 1 boy, 3 girls
Lisa- 2 boys
-
Linda- Sounds like you will have a fun and wild summer!! LOL
Caligirl- Sorry it didn't work out with the boyfriend, but as you know- there are plenty of other fish in the sea. Ok- I know it was bad! Glad you had fun with your girlfriends! Ladies night are the best!
Deb- What a fun house you must have too when they all come to visit!! Lorie- 5 girls under the age of 7??? As we say in Texas- well, bless her heart!
-
Hey there. Deb that is lots of grandkids!!!
Coonie--- the kids that are playing now play on 3 different teams. 2 kids play on one team. It is ok when only 2 have a game on one night, dh and I split it up. In about 4 weeks, i will have at least one stop playing, but then all stars and the olders start so I could end up with 4 on 4 teams.
-
Oi !
-
Wow Deb. Impressed with all the grandkids.
Texas- staying up all night after the decadron is the easiest way to go. I figured I would be awake when the body was and sleep when the body would finally let me. Worked pretty well just didn't quite jive with the rest of the world.
Happy dust bunny gathering to all.
-
I'm with Barb, Oi!
-
Before they were illegal I took diet pills. One day I cleaned the house from top to bottom and then ironed 2 months worth of laundry. Years later a doctor told me that's like beating a dead horse. I wish they would bottle something that would give us a boost. If I was on those pills I could stop by and clean everyone's house!
-
Be glad you didn't take them kmc it seems like diet pills always mess with the heart, especially the heart valves. Just not worth it.
Hey Linda on one of my patient visits today the guy had a tomato plant growing in a patio pot like mine so I was asking him some questions about it. A friend who was there turned out to be a farmer and he gave me some tomato growing advice. Said you could spray a solution of vinegar and water to keep the insects away naturally. I'm going to give it a try.
-
LOL me too! I also took Dexatrims back before they changed them, I lost 35lbs and had the cleanest house in the niehgborhood! ROTF....wish I had some of that energy now.
-
Mom, don't know what your tomato problem is but a spray of dish soap (sunlight) with water should do the trick too. What is the problem?
-
Hey ladies .... 17 grandkids Oi ! LOL
Well, my port is functioning... the doc said I just have a "hyper-sensitivity" to it. The tissue surrounding the port and the port line is swollen...that's where the pain and discomfort are coming from. There is no leakage of chemo... which they were concerned about. So good news is that the port is functioning and there is no infection... bad news is.. I'm just gonna have to deal with the discomfort until chemo is done. Thank you for all your prayers
No housework today!!!
-
Had a few of the leaves that were turning yellow but the farmer guy said that was just from transplanting it to the larger pot and that it would be fine. He just suggested the vinegar water if they needed anything to control pests. I've just spent alot of time already on this project and was worried a little about my favorite one which is the tomato plant. Love those summer tomatoes.
