coonie I'll bring extra towels.
-
Coonie, how long is your pool open for? From May to ????? Every now and then we get a southern that moves north and they can't figure out why all the northerners have above ground pools. SInce we can only swim in them for 3 months of the year, it's easier for use. I'm just curious since you are so far south, south and then some more south, how long is your pool closed for?
I want to go south...........
Guys have removed my kitchen island, torn down a knee wall which of course had the main power line for the second floor in it. Now we are waiting for the electrician. They have ripped up most of the baseboards and about half of the carpet. It's a mess! I better like this when they are finished!
-
Ok...mom...on my way...gotta stop by the Escape thread and drop these here pigs off at Checkum's...lol
-
Yeah mom........bring towels, sunscreen, and ummm..........FOOD!! hehe......actually good cold watermelon would be great!!
Arnie........you're helping Checkum out with the slaughter, I see
hehe
Linda......we usually cover it in October. DD's birthday is 9/28, so after that we don't use it anymore. I'd say ours is covered half the year and open half. But in the summer time, it's usually too HOT to swim!!!! That's bad, huh?
-
Sounds like you need one of these Coonie... Love these sail shades...
No...won't help in slaughter...was a moment of dilerium...lol
-
Did I mention I LOVEEEE watermelon! Wonder how many arnie and I can carry on a motorcycle?
-
You won't believe what I just found at the Goodwill for my dd. (I'm a treasure hunter at heart, love to hunt through yard sales, flea markets, goodwills etc.) Anywho today I found one of those fur real ponies. The one that cost $300 or more at Walmarts. I bought it for $50 and it works fine, makes sounds, head turns, chomps food. So cute!
-
Those are NOT happy pigs on that motorcycle!
What the heck is a fur real pony? Ponies have hair.
Linda I thought you were just getting your floors done! Now it's islands and walls....sheesh!
-
Big deal toy for the kiddos Barbe, has realistic head movements and sounds like a real horse. Even has chomping sounds and mouth moves like its eating a carrot. Wish they had these when I was a kid. Just too expensive brand new, so I was a happy camper when I found this second hand one.
-
I can pick you guys up in my Pig Car as we head down to Coonies!!
Barb, I wanted to remove my island, actually is was a peninsula, soon and since I was having the floors in that room done, it had to be removed now, otherwise there would be no wood under them. The kneww was was next to it and had electrical going up it. SO there's another expense. Just called the electrician who is on his way! DH is gonna love that!
Mom, I hope your DD loves the pony. Not sure what it is either, but it sounds cute!
I love to bargain hunt to! It's fun and thrilling when you find something like that!!
-
Oh Linda, don't you love having a change in your home? It's like getting a new house! We tore out our penninsula as well, just made it harder to come into the kitchen. Then I ripped down all the uppers...that was 2 years ago! Then life happened and we don't have the $$ to get new lowers, but that will come in time.
Mom, I used to have a horse head on a stick that when you pinched his ears he made a galloping or neigh sound. I got it when I was 45. Does that count?
-
Barb, 2 years ago I put a two story addition on my house. My house is small and our family room was 12 by 12. Not good with kids. We added a 22 by 18 addition to the old family room so it is now L shaped. It works! The upstairs is all framed out, insulted, and has some heat and electrical. That's it! We ran out of money to finish it. My poor son is still waiting for his new bedroom and bathroom. Hopefully we will finish it before he goes to college, luckily he's only 10!
Last year when I was dx, we needed a place for my parents and in laws to stay while they took care of me and the kdis. We took the upstairs addition, put 2 twin beds in it, a night stand, lamps and clock. Then my oldest son took King size sheets and made wall by thunb tacking them to the studs. Very creative! That is our guest room. Pretty sad, but worked out great!!
Maybe someday we will both get to finish our houses! I hope so!!

Barbe and Linda meet Butterscotch, our new (old) fur real pony.

I am back to being tired again and the house has gotten back out of shape even with the de junking (HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN!!!!) so I finally called and am getting a lady to come in and do housecleaning for me once a week. Think maybe it will give me the boost I need. Am I so getting kicked off this thread now?????
Second I called my boss and told her I was quitting. Too tired trying to keep up with in home visits, driving kids fifty places and trying to get the never ending housecleaning done. Would you believe she wants me to just take a leave of absence instead. See how I feel in a few months. I can't seem to even quit and too tired to argue. Who knows maybe something will kick in and I will feel like starting back at it. Still need to do the rounds for this month though.
-
Good for you mom! Take the summer off with the kids and play....
Linda, one of the most emotional moments I had after diagnosis was when I asked my DH if I would ever see the kitchen finished! Strange prioritites....sigh....I know....
We have bought the sink, the floor, the backsplash already. Just doing it slowly.
-
Mom! That's great!! Hope you're happy!!
Barb, you will finish it! There's a goal for you!! You can do it!!
Aren't you leaving for the wedding soon.
-
That pony is soooooooooo cute mom...the kids are gonna have fun!!
Back in February, just before my surgery, when the surgeon stuck his head in the door to tell my dh (and sister),and I that I had BC I waited a minute...looked over at dh and said, "Now I'll never get to see the bathroom done". We all cracked up! I've been waiting for my bathroom remodel for years!!!
-
Off to take my cubscout den to Stonybrook Wildlife Sanctuary to work on our Forestry badge. It's only 50 degrees out, it raining and cold, and I don't want to go! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!! Talk about muddy!! Thank God I don't have any floors left in my house!
How do I get sucked into doing these things?????????
-
OOOOOOOO Makraz...I filled in as a counselor for a boyscout canoing trip for my brother who was den leader, and it did the same thing! Was cold and rainy...I never filled in again!! lol
-
Every year I get sucked into being den leader........ugh!
-
Bless your heart....YOU'RE A GOOD MOM....I'll be thinking of ya...it's not overnight is it???
-

Yep, y'all can celebrate for me while I'm at work....sigh. I have a full day of appointments booked too! I'm going to be busy.
I LOVE watermelon. Do NOT put salt on it! Why? That is almost sacreligious!
-
I was brave. Went to the Breast Surgeons at 11:30, sure enough, had to get it aspirated, she got enough junk outta there that it would have filled one of those drains up totally...disgusting and I told her so...then had to go to the Onc's at quarter till 1, he checked me out, said that his office would set up the radiation and call me, told me he would put me on Arimidex after Radiation and also said something about seeing if I qualified for a study, something bout stopping bone loss on arimidex...So other then the stupid radiation (why can't I stand in front of a microwave?) I am almost done!
-
Deb (((((((hugs)))))))))
-
GOOD FOR YOU DEB!!!!!!!!!! You were brave...and all by yourself too! You done good.
Arnie, go figure; I can see the small watermelon picture, but not the larger two! Why? Inquiring minds want to know....
-
wow arnie- those look real!!!!!!!!!
mom- sounds like a good deal. time to take advantage of the opportunity and let someone else do the housework.
I have to admit, I was bad, I actually went down and worked on the basement. Threw out 6 boxes of "stuff." Does that count as housework? I hope not. I like sust bunnies.
