Still waiting for the baby. Moms water broke about a half hour ago. They started to iinduce her today at 10 a.m.
-
That's a pretty spineless way to break up. Hugs to your DD Diane.
-
Oh man, Diane - so sorry for DD - that's a long time...
Glad your DH is okay after the blowout, Meece.
Great Aunt! Wow - congratulations!
Cleaning up is part of the reason I don't like to cook (aside from not being good at it). It seems you have to dirty everything in the kitchen to make anything. By the time I'm done, I definitely don't want to clean up.
It was a pharmacy technician certification test. I took the class last fall - studied on and off all year. Once the kids were in school, finally got around to taking the test. Now I have to try to get a job. Not sure how hiring is. First, I need a haircut. I haven't had it cut in 2 1/2 yrs since I had it cleaned up after it started to grow back in. It is a bit of a mess.
There was a bat in my belfry today - well, actually on my front door screen. I've seen bats flying around at dusk, but never had one land anywhere where I could see it. Hope they don't decide our attic would be a nice place to live. He flew away at dusk. I don't know why he ended up on my screen. I opened the door for DH when I heard him get home from work. I thought there was a leaf on the door. I'm like - how is that leaf stuck there? Then I saw feet, but it still looked like a leaf, so I'm thinking - what kind of bug looks like a leaf? Then I realized it was an animal and thought it was a mouse! Then I realized it was a bat. Gross and facinating at the same time. I was taking pictures of it and wanted to barf simultaneously. I texted my bio major daughter who was at band rehearsal and sent a couple pix. She wrote back - "Poor baby. Is it okay?" ha ha. This from the girl who a few hrs earlier was complaining about spiders and their webs on our front porch. I guess bats are okay, but spiders aren't. I was concerned that maybe it had rabies since I didn't think it should have been flying about during the day and it never moved after I found it - even when DH blew on it to see if it would fly away. But it did fly away after it started to get dark, so I'm hoping it was okay.
So that was my excitement for the day.

-
Congrats Chris!! Good luck with the job search! You can keep the bat! Yuck!
-
Chris...I don't like what I see..It's almost as scary as a mouse for me
-
At least bats eat bugs. I don't mind them as long as they don't try to live with me.
-
I was babysitting one night (like 50 years ago) and bats suddenly appeared. I was totally freaked out and upset. I'm not good with bats, rats, or bugs and here I sit in the mountains tonight looking out at deer and elk and they don't scare me. Probably because there's no way they're coming inside
DD is trying hard to hold it together, breaks down every once in a while but I have my fingers crossed that she will be ok. She has no idea why or what happened.
Chris - I hope you find a job at a great place! And get that hair cut
I love to cook but not sure I would enjoy it as much if DH didn't do all the dishes.
Hope that baby comes out soon, Linda!
Sandy - thinking of you.
Sheila - I was craving white pizza today and it made me think of you.
Deb - it is spineless but I think his disabilities play a role in how it happened as well.
Overall, I just wish young people would communicate with voices. So much is lost in a text.
-
We used to hide in the dark at night and have bright flashlights. When the bats would dive down towards us, we would shine the lights on them. They would take off. I was a lot braver at 10 than I am now!
Still no baby. ugh!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Every time I go to Mackinaw City or Mackinaw Island here in MI, a lot of the shops have an overhang where the entrance is, and in the upper corners there will be rows of bats. And I mean lots of them. Some people wouldn't go near the place, they would just look, point, and move on. Didn't bother me. They didn't do anything in the daytime & in the evening, I never had one fly out at me. (thank goodness!!) One time when we went camping with our pop-up camper years ago, as I was sliding my hand under the edge of the vinyl to unsnap it, I touched something & a dang bat flew out. Scared the living daylights out of me!! After that, I looked for bulges & was slower. Yowza!! (that is probably not spelt right)
Diane, sending a hug for your (( DD )).

Val...Once when I was still a teenager woke up and felt something on my head..it was summer so i thought it was a bug..I tried to scratch it only to find out it was a mouse......I actually went into shock for 2 days.......
-
Diane~I did not know he has disabilities.
-
My daughter does as well (have disabilities). Her dad took her golfing this afternoon - wish I was watching but she needs dad bonding time. Her pool of potential boyfriends is much smaller as a result of disabilities. My pool was smaller for other reasons
-
I bought a gigantic size bunch of escarole....I want to make soup but I don't even know where to start...any recipes or I need to google...Thanks in advance
(((Diane's DD♥)))
-
Ewwww - Sheila! A mouse on your head! No wonder you don't like mice!
We have a pop-up camper - now I have to be on the lookout for bats...
I don't like mice or roaches (or spiders or ants or earwigs - anything creepy-crawly)
Ok - need a change of subject - let's dance... Gangnam style!
-
i agree....You dance I sing
lalalalalalalalalalalala
-
-
I made a minestrone soup tonight with lots of ESCAROLE, veggies and chicken sausage...
-
Just want to let you know I'm off to the beautiful Lake Superior area to enjoy the beautiful Fall area with my DD#2 and grandkids. Though, having checked the long range forcast, it looks chilly (40-50's) and rainy. Oh well, I'm on vacation!!
Hugs to all!

49 Degree
Good Morning TOL
-
Val - hopefully the weather turns out better than they thought - enjoy your time with the kids!
It's back to winter again...
-
Mouse on the head..............I would have died!!
I need pepper recipes. I hate pepper but DH loves them. Had to harvest my garden today since we are supposed to get a frost tomorrow. Not sure what to do with them all. I already made many stuffed peppers and froze them.
Hope you had fun val!
Minestrone sounds yummy!!
-
All I have left in my garden is Parsley, 2 different types of sage, Rosemary, that will croak when we have frost. Thyme, Lemon Balm, Rue, Sweet Margoram, some marigolds, Rose bush, Chives, Tomatoes and basil are gone, Lavendar, Horehound plant and some weeds.
-
If you don't want to just seed, core, and freeze them how about: roasted red pepper soup or hummus or I have a recipe for sausage, peppers and orzo....
-
I think I will dry some herbs in the microwave.
-
I've never frozen them. What do I do, blanch them?
I'd love your soup recipe!
I brought my basil in a week or so ago, and it's fine. I also dug up a pepper plant an have it in my guest room. I want to see how long it will last. Last week I mail ordered tomato plants and have them growing inside too. Not sure if they will survive winter! My husband told me they will die because I keep the house so cold. Maybe I will have my hot flashes by the tomato plants to keep them growing.
-
Sent you two emails Linda with recipe/instructions.
