Gusty winds here, heavy rain should arrive after midnight. I'll be sound asleep.
Welcome back. I think I remember your avatar.
-
I should say name.

OK...Power is back to normal.......
I'm ready for AC...humidity is a killer tonight.....
Good Night again
-
Hey there Valjean - glad you have returned!
To those of you on my beloved east coast, be safe, warm and dry.
My FIL flew into Boston tonight - I was a nervous wreck but he made it before crazy weather started. Rented a cheapo apt today for a a few months. OMG! What was I thinking selling my house without a place to go.
Still glad we sold, especially with the possiblity of a crazy economy after the elections.
-
Welcome Val..........don't be a stranger.............hugs
-
Hey Rainie, I remember when your house first started to get weird - having to tear out the kitchen cupboards & flooring. How awful. I am so glad you are finally able to sell it - how excited are the new tenants to get it? Being neighbors, do they know of all that you had to have redone? Do you have anything on the horizen for your new dwelling?
We had hail here in MI this afternoon. Hail!! Couldn't believe it when I heard it hit my window, had to see it bouncing off my car windshield to believe what I was seeing. Crazy. Then turned out beautiful - blue sky, sunny.
What would I put in a bag if a hurricane was coming?? My iPhone!! And as Makratz said, Margaritas, or at least the bottle of Tequila.
Who needs a glass!?!
-
Valjean - that is the best part for me - there is no question but they know everything we went through.
You know, we all go through things, some not so good things but hopefully each time we learn something. Between the house and the BC, I/we came away knowing we just could enjoy life with less responsibility and less house. This house has been a lot of work and expense. The idea of making this change has been growing for a while. We have seen another home just yesterday, half the size and less than half the cost but it does mean we are no longer four blocks from everything, we would be 40 blocks. Mulling it over.
4 a.m. and I am on here - one of those nights when you wake up to use the loo and just can't go back to sleep.

Linzer Cookies -
Nothing different in our weather front. All of you on the East Coast, take care.
Diane, when I was first dx'd I moved from 2,500 sq ft to a 750 sq ft. I had many, many boxes that were stored in the garage and never unpacked. I have moved three more times since then and still have some of the boxes which have yet to be unpacked. I really need to get out to the garage and redistribute the stuff or pitch it. I did just fine in my little house so why do I keep the stuff I haven't used in 9 years?
Hey, Valjean! Good to see you here!
-
Those cookies are stunning!
Linda, Sheila, Deb, Chris, Sandy .....hope you all are warm and dry.
-
Welcome Val...
lots of wind and rain and lost power at my house for 4 hours, but I am not there am at daughters still so the boys had to endure that one.
never had those cookies....
have a good day all bb on tomorrow!!
-
Crazy weather left us.....Beautiful day....
Good Morning to TOL.......
Coffee time
-
Meecie ~ did you make those particular cookies, I know you do make them. They look soooo good. Have you ever shared your recipe? I just looked it up in my Joy of Cooking cookbook. Drei Augen ~ is that the cookie or similar?
It's like 70 degrees here, just beautiful. Why is it that I feel so "alive" - more refreshed when the weather is cooler?? I find myself breathing deeper when I'm outside.
Have a wonderful afternoon gals! Back later.....
♥
-
I use the liner heart cookie recipe from the silverpalate cook book. They are awesome!! Very fragile, you have to be careful when you make them but they are so worth it! YUM!
Margaritas??? Tequila??? Welcome home Valjean!

10:10 pm...Do you know where your friends are?
Enjoyed XFactor..taped Survivor....taking a break
I checked FB...And i'm really sick and tired about politics...election...all the hate towards our President...
I know it's a free country but I have a feeling i'm gonna block couple of friends until after the election...i just can't handle it anymore...
Sorry for the rant.....
i love you all and politics and religion should never come between friends......
Since it's a free country i can block people if i choose too.....
NO...None of you are on my list
-

I deleted my post because i was too upset when i wrote it....If you read it it's fine
-
No, those were not my cookies. You roll out the dough to about 1/8" and the dough is a bit soft, even though you refrigerate it. Bake for about 10 minutes and once they are cool you dust with confectioner's sugar then spread jam and put them together.
Hope you are feeling better Sheila. Don't get yourself too worked up, I hope whatever had you upset has been settled.
Yesterday smelled like autumn, even though the weather was still in the 90s. I'm ready.
Sandy, PM me your address and I will send you a batch of cookies!
-
Sheila, I hope you are feeling better. I did not read your post.
-
Sheila, I missed your post too. I hope you are feeling better. (((((HUGS)))))
DS's birthday is tomorrow. He'll be 16. He hasn't studied for his permit test yet. I have to get on him about that. And sign him up for driver's ed...cha ching... I suppose I shouldn't be in a hurry to add him to our insurance... CHA CHING. These kids are getting REALLY expensive.
Hope you are feeling better each day, Sandy.
Glad you found an apartment, Diane. Hope you find your dream home soon!
I think that sinus thing I had earlier in the year is back. I feel crappy. Blah.
((((((TOL))))))

Drivers Ed is getting out of hand. Of course you have to do it but REALLY?????????? It cost over 1,000 for my son. The insurance is through the roof too! Good luck, Chris. Of course you know all of this since you went through it with your daughter. Did you know that the insurance companies charge more for boys under 21 than for girls??????????????

I'm stuttering....lol
-
Linda, things haven't changed. I'm 70, when I was in high school driver's ed was expensive and cost more for boys than for girls.
-
BCO is very slow today....
Linda is posting the same thing twice so i don't miss it.......lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalaa
-
hahahahahaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-
I have three boys and the school district they went to school in provided Driver's Ed for free. At least I saved some $$ before the insurance payments!
-
Ouch - three boys... good thing you didn't have to pay for driver's ed too! I did driver's ed through the school - I think it wasn't that expensive. It's $500 each for my kids.
The other night when I went for my run, it was a good temp when I was running, but when I was walking, once I cooled off, I was chilly. I was like, "Where are the hot flashes NOW?!" I could have used one. lol
Poor DS came home from school not feeling well. And it's his birthday. He's in bed now. I think he has a cold - on top of allergies. He got up around 5 am to take a decongestant because his nose was running. Usually he just gets up sneezing from allergies. He might have a sinus infection. I don't know whether he doesn't feel well because he has a sinus infection or because he's coming down with a cold. If his nose wasn't running, I would think sinus infection, but because his nose is running, I don't know what to think...

Thinking Out Loud:
Why is it when you are looking for something, you can not find it.
BUT,
you find two other things you have been looking for for a few months?!?
