Good Night

Good night Sheila. It's cool out there which is good for my hot flashes! Grab a big blanket for tonight.

WooHoo! The dress is purchased!!!! We went to the shop and went upstairs to get the dress out to try on (again) and it wasn't there! Panic set it, because FDIL wasadamant that that was the ONLY dress she was interested in. The sales girl spoke broken english and when we queried her she just smiled, nodded and giggled. FDIL was broken hearted and then FMIL (Me) saved the day by finding the dress tucked back behind some other dresses. I just wasn't going to give up.
She got an even better deal than originally offered...The dress, veil, tierra, gloves, and hoop/crinnolin for $600 + tax. She got it out the door for $500 and that included a long veil (usually adding another $40).
Her sister and mother went with us so she could try on bridesmaid dresses. Well she moped around most of the time, and then tried to pick out prom-style dresses (minis). I don't know why parents allow their kids to act bratting at the expenses of one of the other kids.
I tried on a coule dresses but really want to get down one dress size before I buy. FDIL said the shop keepers were upping their price because of my color, and when she asked prices in Spanish they gave her lower prices. I will need to pick out the dress then have her go in and negotiate.
All in all it was a fun day.
Got home by 5:30 and had dinner then went to lay down and our lovely neighbors must be preparing for a party, trying out sound systems or something. Every so often there was extremely loud Oom-pa-pa music for hours! Couldn't have been a party because the music wasn't even a complete song. Ah, a taste of things to come I fear.
-
Just thinking how silly it is for me to be serious about wanting to go down one size and walking out of the store and chowing down on a bacon wrapped street dog heaped with pico de gallo and avocado!
-
Oh my God Meece.........that looks heavenly..............hope you enjoyed it.........................hugs
-
So glad you found the dress and FDIL can haggle in Spanish. I hate haggling. LOL on the street dog. Diet starts after the street dog.

((((((((((((((((((((((((((TOL)))))))))))))))))))))))
I'm feeling little weird today......My thoughts are not together......
I read all the posts and I love you..♥

♥
Kids made deviled eggs (don't all kids do that on senior skip day?) and went to a friend's. I'm off to take FIL to visit MIL at rehab...
I feel like I might be coming down with a cold... I feel weird. Maybe it's just that sinus infection that keeps coming and going coming back - again.
-
Maybe allergies Chris? Deviled eggs. LOL!
Great news on the dress and getting a great deal!
Hope you are feeling better Sheila.
-
DD is coming home the 19th and we will go dress shopping. I hope I find something I like. Her shower is the 23rd, I have the favors all made. I don't know how to post them without putting them on FB first and I can't do that she will see.
Rain and cold until Thursday here, brrrrrr. I put the gas stove on to take off the chill.
-
Deb - you could post them on facebook set to "only me" and then send people the link at the bottom of the page of the album... That's how I shared my albums with people I'm not friends with. Make sure you don't post the album on your wall. You really need to pay attention to the security on each thing you do. I thought my albums were friends only and I thought my post on my wall was friends only. Then I realized it was friends of friends. Not that big a deal, but if I really didn't want other people to see, they had 12 hrs when they could see the albums. I don't know how I had the albums set. I would have thought if they were set to friends, then friends of friends might be able to see my post, but not the album. I don't know - I don't remember if I had to change the security on my albums or not. Such a pain.
-
Shiela hope you feeling better...
Deb, this time with your daughter is something you will never get back, I know you will cherish it....it is an exciting time....
Chris....prom is over...graduation is next.
Nope haven't heard about what the deal is, they said they will find out friday night, IF they get their cap and gowns...
Linda thinking about you...
Ducky how was the shore?
Meece you are the best FMIL, she is very lucky....what an exciting time and a productive one.....
It is summer.....!!
-
It is winter here...we got heat last night
DD got her wedding dress with a friend and sent me an email........
Sandy....I hope the graduation goes through as planned....
Deb..you'll be a busy in law this month
Chris....I want you to stop and take a deep breath........
Ducky...Are you behaving
It was some day today...hoping tomorrow will be normal
-
Sheila.....Behaving as best as I can.......lol
Sandy........shore was good......weather was nice....it was just one of my daughter's and her husband.......went to dinner Saturday night, did very little Sunday, and came home.....nothing exciting, very lazy 2 days......Have a graduation this Friday night........grandson is graduating...its outside, wasn't invited, but will go anyway...if its inside only 4 tickets, and I'm sure I won't get one of them..............oh well...............I guess the whorey mother will be going.........sad, but my grandson doesn't even like her.............on Mothers's Day he wrote on Twitter...........Happy Mother's Day to all the mother's out there "except mine", so what does that say.....she walked out on them at least 4 times, and my asshole son, kept taking her back..........I do belive this time its for good though.........considering our mechanic's son said he saw her in the Giant parking lot getting a piggy back from her boyfriend into the store...............and she lives with this guy in the same town, as her kids, and my son..............................what a tramp..............they were married almost 20 years...............
-

I can't copy from email Deb...I tried it's not working
The link is priceless.......
-
Ducky - your grandson's mother deserves a big SLAAAAP!
Sandy - I would hope they would have been in close communication with the families of kids who were in jeopardy of not graduating. If their way of telling them whether they are graduating or not is making them wait to see if they get a cap and gown, that's reprehensibile. I hope that since they haven't told you they are in trouble, that means they are okay..
It's winter here too.
((((((TOL))))))

Happy Winter GRRRRR
-
LOL! Glad to hear you are normal!
Im still having a hard time with this new layout. Everytime I click on our thread, it brings me to the bottom. It used to bring me to the last post I read. Now I am afraid I am missing somethings!
-
It brings me to the bottom too.
Glad for the good Dr checkup, Sheila. Warm weather should be back this weekend/beginning of next week. We'll be complaining about the heat again then.
((((((TOL)))))))
-
Went for the ultrasound.................it was nothing......the tech said it might be my "rib".............now I'm not buying that................the Dr. said it was nothing...........she gave them to the Dr. and the Radiologist, and they both said after looking at my "cancer mam. from a year ago, and the one done 6 weeks ago...........everything looks fine...................but I could have told them that, and would not have had to pay $40.00.................to have someone tell me what I already knew..............oh well.......at least my kids are all thrilled to death, and my grandchildren................I wasn't worried at all............nothing could have been bad as the first time........so life goes on.....................
-
So happy for your good news Ducky, and that everyone is happy! Better safe than sorry.
