Good Night

Nick has surgery first thing tomorrow so he has to be at the hospital for 6:30 am.
There is a potential complication with the stone that has got out and is blocking the bile duct. They can't necessarily address that with the surgery tomorrow. The doctor is going to try and flush it out but it might not work, he'll know more after the surgery and when they've done blood tests afterwards.
If they cannot get the stone out, we will have to go to Boston! So there is a chance that we may have to fly out on Friday or over the weekend. Its not a major op but just something they don't do on island - they essentially go in through the mouth and round into the stomach and pull it through into the intestine! He said you are usually in and out within the day. Won't know if its necessary until after the op tomorrow.

Love honey on anything, especially turkey kielbasa, actually the real stuff but I wont eat that!
Deb, I hope everything is going well for Nick.
-
Not trying to be negative, but that is the surgery my mother had last year. She had the gallbladder out, but the bile duct spasmed and sealed off. She went septic and after 5 days home she spent a week in the hospital, they we able to get the infection cleared and eventually she had to have a stint put in for about 8 months. They finally took it out in February and she seems to be fine now. What I am getting at, is if he's not doing as well as you think he should, don't mess around. Sometimes this "outpatient" surgery thing is unhealthy since the dr. can't see how the patient is recovering. We had called the dr on the afternoon of surgery and told him we thought something was wrong, and his reasoning was that her IV had come out before they could put all the painkiller in at the end of surgery.
-
Glad your mom recovered, Meece. Hope Nick doesn't have any complications. It is good to know what the complications could be. I hate it when doctors give us the brush off when we are concerned about symptoms. Better to check it out and err on the safe side.

Praying for Nick & Rebekah...let us know Deb
Some DR's always have an answer sounds like a broken record
Not everybody's symptom is related to the same issue.......
Good Morning all...I had a scary dream about a mice crawling in my clothes to find its mother rat who was under my bed and a size of a cat......i was trying to scream but nothing was coming out......
-
Wow Sheila, I wonder what that dream means????
-
I don't know..all i know is i was terrified......
I'm boiling some eggs....in the mood for egg salad....
sun is in and out but not chilly
What should I do today?
-
Deb hope he is ok, getting my gallbladder out on the 22nd and that is one of the concerns (the other is my white blood count) and the stone is near the bile duct....thoughts and prayers. Keep us informed...
Shiela was thinking the same thing, what do you put in yours, haven't made it in forever and usually put celery and onions...
How is everybody today?
-
I don't usually make egg salad....I use celery and little salt
I'm full now...also had an orange and blueberries+my meds
Turning off the computer...see you all later.........
♥
-
He is in recovery, but don't know if they were able to get that stone out.
-
Fingers crossed Deb.

good wishes to Nick

Hope the surgery went well and the stone is gone. Also hope the tata is all better.
Went back to the trainer this week. I hurt so much all over. The reason I went back to work out is so that the Arimidex induced arthritis won't hurt so much. This better improve.
I love egg salad with celery salt but not actual celery in it - it's a textural thing.
Meece - hoping you got to speak with someone smarter at the doc's office.
Linda - hope you are feeilng better.
-
The have to go to Lahey Clinic in Burlington MA to remove the stone. They got the gallbladder out but could not remove the stone in a duct.
It will be an outpatient procedure he will not have to stay in the hospital, the insurance is going to pay for everything, hotel, air travel ***everything.
They will fly here Sunday and go back home Tuesday. He will recuperate at a nice Marriot hotel here.
My DH asked if they only had voodoo medicine in Bermuda. LOL

I was listening Patriotic songs on You Tube

where at least I know I'm free!
Footie needs our prayers. Let her know you are thinking of her!
-
May everything go well on the next stage of the gallbladder surgery. At least you will be able to visit.
-
Hope Nick is doing better today.
Off to Onc. I hate going there.
-
Good luck at the onc, Linda.
Deb - Keep us posted on how Nick is doing. Hope they get that stone out easily and that you are able to visit with them.
((((((TOL))))))
-
Linda l- Good luck at the onc - I hate going there too for all the reasons one might expect BUT as soon as I walk through the doors, I start to smell that metallic chemo smell.
Had some heavy duty rain yesterday and probably some more today. When is summer!
Sandy - hoping you have had good news about the boys by now.
Chris - the proms are over, that alone should make this weekend better
Sheila - have you tried on dresses for the wedding yet?

No Diane...I didn't try any dresses yet....I'm not ready and kinda overwhelmed with everything going on in my life......
(((TOL)))
-
Ok, fair enough Sheila! Hope it's all good
-
Everything went well at onc, with the exception of my blood pressure. Its usually very low and today was very high. She asked if everything was OK and thats when I lost it. She said that explains the bp issue. I need to chill out.
We had some serious rains here the past few days, thoundershowers and downpours.
Heading to beach tomorrow without the kids again. Can't believe I can finally do this!
-
Enjoy the beach - glad you're getting a break from the kids
-
Thanks, me too. What do you think my house will look like when I get home??
-
Linda...i don't know about the house but day with DH alone will bring your BP down
Diane...everything is good but sometimes too many good stuff overwhelms me too.
