The temps were a bit cooler over the weekend and we were able to go without the AC.  That's going to be better on the power bill since the temps have been in the high 90s lately.  Yesterday it didn't quite hit 80.  We even were able to eat outdoors and be comfortable.  Sorry you ladies in the East are melting.

We're melting because we don't get a spring anymore. It goes from dry upper 50's/low 60's to humid 80's seemingly overnight. So we aren't used to the heat and humidity.

Hot now, but should be cooler next weekend.

$1025...  The guy said too bad it wasn't brought in sooner.  When I commented that I was going to kill DH, he said in all honesty, doing the less expensive repair was only going to buy us some time - the other pieces were going to have to be replaced eventually.  Luckily, we are going to try to hold on to this car a while longer.  If we were going to replace it in a year anyway, I'd be more pissed. It would have cost $200 instead of $1000. I hate cars.

Good news is I got a hair appt for DD for prom last minute for Friday.  Phew!  I hope we have everything that we need at this point.  She had better have the best time ever - these proms are costing SO MUCH!   I'm not sure I want to know how much her hair-dos are going to cost.  Cha-ching cha-ching...

Yes I'm home, came home Sunday afternoon.  My tata is a lot better but not completely.  I am on Doxycycline twice a day for 7 days.  Going to see my doctor Thursday so I will take the day off of work.  This is a very short week, only going to work 3 days out of 4.

Hey Sandy..........a suggestion.........not sure of your whole situation, but if you have no insurance, find out the name of the company that manufacturers whatever it is your taking....................call them, and and ask if they have an "Access to Care" program..............or anything that gives people free meds when they can't afford them...................I know many companies do..................however...............Novartis does not..................Astra Zeneca does, and I know this because my son-in-laws mother gets her Arimidex from them for free.............many companies do this you just have to find out who makes your drug....................at least that might help with the "no drug coverage" that your experiencing right now.

Right now I am considering going off the Femara..........can't handle the "aches and pains".........its not just now and then........it is on going, which is "new", was doing very well I thought, but can't deal with it anymore........this has been for the past couple months.......came on "just like that".........went from aching to intolerable overnight.......................I'm more interested in "quality of life", now then "quantity"..............what good ls living if your in constant pain...............I said theother day to my daughter down the shore after coming home from Cape May's Washington Square, walking around........................I would rather have "a baby without anesthesia, at one end of the table, and a dentist doing "root canal" at the other end, then deal with this "pain" from this f/n medicine......................not worth it....................hugs girlfriend.

You have such a way with words, Ducky :)  Maybe you could take a break and try again later so you don't have to forego all the benefits?  I hear you on the QOL.  I think the tamoxifen is making me crazy, but I was crazy before so I can't tell how much worse I am.  And I had some foot pain before, so I don't know if tamox is making it worse or if it has gotten worse on its own.  I hope going off the Femara helps your pain to go away quickly.

DS said they are making a big card for a classmate of his who was diagnosed with leukemia.  omg-f'ing cancer.

ducky - I had an immediate and violent reaction to the Al's.  My MO switched me to Tamoxifen right away and have very few side effects, all of them very doable.  The worst has been some balance issues due to mild peripheral neuropathy, easily managed by using a cane when I'm tired or somewhere I can't easily run my hand along a wall, counter etc.  Been on Tammy for 1 1/2 years now.  I think one of the reasons i haven't had the horrible SE's younger women have is that I'm well past menopause - 20 years.  The worst of the SE's they have seem to be related to the forced menopause they go through.

You might want to talk to your MO about trying it.  PM me any time if you want to talk about it.

Chabba..........she mentioned Tamoxa today ......then said "do you or have you ever gotten a blood clot"......I said "yes, 6 times, with 6 kids...........she said "forget Tamox"..........offered to take me off Femara it for 1 month....will tell you gals about my visit later tonight.............gonna grab something to eat.........oh and today she found another lump in the same breast......................I said WTF, and she just looked at me.........oh well.

    ((((Linda))))

Deb - hope you get a good report tomorrow.  Your daughter looks great!  Are his boobs bigger than hers?

Sheila - a little white lie :)  good for you.

    ((((ducky))))

Chabba - when are you taking the ferry?  I will meet you :)

Meece - have you succeeded in getting the wedding plans on track?

    ((((Sandy))))

Chris - all you are doing is expensive and time consuming but from someone a few years ahead of you (more than a few), they will remember your efforts - I promise.

Over the weekend, we had a variety of visitors at the cabin.  I think I like it better when it is just family.  I even think my DIL might be starting to like me.  Probably should knock on wood or something.

Only 13 days until I will have Patch in my arms.  This long distance Grandmotherhood bites!  We Skype and he's going to be confused when he sees the computer grandma in person.  It was so cute to watch him play a game on his Mama's phone.  I watched his eyes track with the pics and he used one little pointer finger to touch the screen.  He's growing up too fast!

The wedding isn't any further planned yet, but we are going on Sunday to purchase her dress and pick out Bridesmaid dresses.  I mentioned how she needed to get some plans firmed up and she got defensive, so I backed off.  She's graduating from University a week from Saturday so we'll get through that pressure then focus on the wedding???

Deb, your DD and FSIL make a lovely pair.

Sandy, hope you are feeling well.  Best of luck maneuvering through this change.

Linda, thinking of you during this tough week.

Sheila, my pumeria started blooming yesterday and I immediately thought of you.  I can smell Hawaii everyday now.

(((((Linda)))) your friend's daughter probably gets her strength from her mom.

((((Deb)))) - your daughter does look so happy. Hope you get good news from the Dr.

Diane - I hope DIL is realizing what a great MIL she has.

Meece - it must be so hard being away from Patch. I hope the next 13 days pass quickly for you and the time you have with Patch passes slowly so you can savor it. I hope FDIL has been putting off the planning because of graduation and gets right on it so you don't have to stress.

Are you feeling any better, ((((Sandy?)))) Hope you get the health coverage all straightened out.

((((Ducky)))) - any word on the lump? Hope it's just scar tissue or something else that's benign.

Beautiful day today. I hope you get out for a nice walk today, Sheila.

I'm back, the appt was uneventful. Staying on the Doxycycline for a few weeks, in the meantime if the pink does not go away or gets worse or I start to run a temp, I am to call right away to come in.

I think I will treat myself to a mani and and pedi today.Kiss

    Great pic Deb!

Knock wood, Diane!  Good for you both!

Thanks Sheila, it has been a really tough week.  We buried Chris today.  Really hard to see the kids.

I would like to comment to all but my brain is mush!
