All,
As one comment said, No news IS good news. I've noticed improvement.
Deb now knows me & can identify the girls in pictures. (they are at a swimming meet this weekend) Deb & I have spent the last few days, Doing the necessities, plus I have her walking. As you all probably know she is one tough girl. Yesterday she told me she wasn't going to walk with me. It took me 5 minutes to convince her to go. It was a great sign! She also seems to be surviving my cooking. The girls cringe when I'm going to cook! (I'm actually o.k.) Deb's just excellent. Well I'm babbling.
Thanks for all the concern, comments, prayers. Keep up the fight!

Hi John
I don't post that often but I read the forums most days. I always read Deb's posts. She has such a way with words!
I have been following her story and hate that she is going through all this.
So pleased to read your post and to see that she is a little better.
I guess I just wanted you to know that ppl are thinking about her and wishing her well as far away as Australia. She has touched so many!
Hugs

Dear John, You sound like the BEST guy in the world!!!! Deb is blessed to have you to support her !!! God bless you and your girls and of course, DEB. Deb is a HUGE part of this place and please know you are all our prayers. Deb has been a supporter, a friend, a confident, and a role model for SO many women here. Her selfless posts are an inspiration for so many women. She has approached this disease with humor and also, with diginity. Now in her time of need, I pray we can garner our strength to pass along to her some of the love and energy she has given to us. May god bless you all and shine love and healing upon your family.

Our brains are so fragile. It takes time to recover from the "assault" that happened to Deb's brain. Trying to be patient is so hard, but I pray every day that she is slowly but surely improving. She has more courage than anybody I know.
God bless your family. I know this must be so difficult for you and your daughters. Big hugs for all ((()))

Good Morning DebC: Thinking about you today.

John, such good news! You can see from the responses how much Deb is loved here. I guess that doesn't surprise you either, since you know her better than anyone. I am so pleased to hear signs of improvement and so grateful.
Keep the faith, and keep on fighting. You are all in my prayers.

hey John, I'm not sure if you're still looking for drugs to reverse the effects, it sounds like she's on her way without them; however, I thought you might want to ask the doctor about this one drug. Here is an email I got sent to me.
"First, although high-dose repeated MTX can as your professionals observe induce encephalopathy, this is almost always both reversible and avoidable by using what's called folinic acid rescue therapy, with or without aminophylline, as numerous studies and critical reviews have attested, and I would agree with the review findings of Ian Cohen at Tel Aviv University published last year that increasing evidence strongly suggests that MTX-induced neurotoxicity / encephalopathy is largely if not exclusively due to inadequate folinic acid rescue, appreciating the fact that higher doses of MTX require a disproportionately higher dose of folinic acid than MTX to prevent toxicity, a strategy found to be safe and effective in in children."

Checking in again, I think of Deb often and wish all of you the best! Please let us know how things are going when you have the chance. Deb has a LOT of women here who support and love her! All the best, Anne
-
Thanks for the update, John. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about Deb and your family. I hope Deb continues to see improvement each day. Look forward to your next update.
-
Ok I'm getting worried. Has anyone heard anything. DebC please, we are praying so hard for you. Know that we are with you.

I'm hoping that John's earlier message (several days ago) that no news is good news is still holding true. Still lighting my candle every night at 6PM PST and saying a prayer for Deb, John and the girls - hopeful that Deb is continuing to get better and stronger each day. I'm also hoping that we'll get another update soon - or even better, See a post from Deb!

Does anyone have a way to call her home? I'm worried too, b/c we've not had an update since Saturday morning
ANYONE? Prayers will continue and so many good thoughts going northwest! Deb, John and girls...thinking of you all!
-
Hi Ladies,
I'm assuming that John won't mind me posting this last email. I emailed him today for permission but have yet to receive a response. I sure hope I'm right......
I r'cvd this at 1:54 AM Sunday.
Thanks! I truly believe that the prayers & well wishes do work.
Deb is doing a little better. We are spending quality time together. So it isn't all bad. She is tough. She is starting to have opinions on things, like IF we are going for another walk and where to. Normally, I would lose these arguments. Now she is just protesting. A very good sign!
She also is eating well, laughs at me & gives kisses. She now knows my name and can identify our girls by their pictures (they are out of town). She is now using sentences again. So she is making improvement.
We are all going to get through this stuff. We just have to keep the faith.
Thanks for your support.
JohnKeep praying girls......
Hugs, Traci

Keep up the good work Deb & John!
