Oh my, our sweet Alaska Deb. I have known her from the start of her journey, always upbeat, funny and brave.
Breaks my heart.
Damn this disease!
Hugs to all, Shirlann

I was so sad to read about Alaska Deb. I always read her posts and there was so much life and love and humour in her words. My heart goes out to all who loved her - her husband, family & friends. Praying for them all.
Love to everyone here.

Oh, AE. Thank you for your last post. I'm crying at the thought of Deb souring up into the heavens--free from the shackles of bootface. Very bittersweet, isn't it? I'm so sad that she's gone from this life, but so happy that she's no longer suffering and that she's in the loving arms of our Lord.
Hugs,
Karen

Sue - you best make sure we meet up when you come over missy!! BTW, Deb's DH John asked that in leiu of flowers to donate to Deb's Relay for Life team. I think she was the Captain. I think the link is on the rose thread. I think that would be a great way to pay it forward.
I will make sure I invite the ladies from the yahoo group this weekend.

Darn! I wish we could afford that trip to Disneyworld we've been wanting to take!
Yes, AE, invite your Yahoo group to join us! The more the merrier!
Happy Friday to everyone!

Hey Sue - I am here in Florida, but on the West Coast, sounds like you are wanting to be closer to Orlando (East Coast side) anyway, I am about 30 minutes from Tampa, are you looking to just come to Florida and rest and lay on the beach, or are you more wanting to do the attractions?
-
Sue Iwatched the video -Leona is awesome. And I gotta say you guys build them well in the UK -I think Simon and Hugh Laurie are "HOTTIES"

AE...THANKS FOR THE POST ABOUT DEB. THAT REALLY TOUCHED MY HEART. I POSTED IT UNDER THE THREAD WITH THE IDEA OF EMAILING OUR PRESIDENT. I AM GOING TO COPY THAT HERE TOO...SO WE CAN ALL GET INVOLVED.
I WILL BE BACK...GOT SOME NOT SO GOOD NEWS TODAY FROM MY BS.
-
ok...here it is...under the thread IN HONOR OF ALASKA DEB, AN IDEA:
You might think this is a futile idea as a tribute to Deb, but her passing has just taken me beyond the limit with this disease...here's what I propose.....
We pick one day, and everyone on this board emails Pres.Obama demanding a cure, no more studies on chemo, stats, etc...a cure once and for all.......if nothing else, the publicity from getting so many emails in one day will bring our fight to the forefront........Obama is a new President, he can be molded......it's worth a shot.......He talks so much about what a great country we are, what we can do if we all get together, what change he wants, let's see if he's all talk.......
What do you all think?
All Emails are to go out on February 14th.
-----------------------
Subject for us will be our names and dates such as Debbie-dx'd 2008 . Or if you want to use it in memory of someone else, put in "In memory of so and so........others can use whatever they want, I'm sure everyone knows someone who has had cancer, they could use In Memory of that person........

ok...I got my mammo a week ago Monday. They did a few more views...which I freaked over..they found 2 very small spots. But since I had a revision on my breast, they figured it was probably calcifications. I saw my breast surgeon today and she wants me to have a steriotatic needle core biopsy!! I started to tear up. I know she is being cautious, but still...it scares the hell out of me! Yesterday marked the 2 year anniversary of finding my lump! I hate January!! I go next Wed. Feb. 4th...and will find out Tues. Feb. 10th.
Sisters...I know I have your support and prayers...that's a no brainer. But when does this all end??? I don't know if I can take this again.
Sue...Please let us know when you plan on going to Florida. I will definately meet up with you. I can fly down! How awesome would that be...for as many of us as possible to meet up with our Dorothy and her clan!!
Back to work..and trying to think positive.
xoxo

Lisa, just take a couple of deep breaths. or go outside and scream at the top of your lungs one of Sue's rants, keep your eyes on the yellowbrick road. I can't tell you when it all will end but you need to keep these stats going through your head 80% of the time these things are b-9. I had my first abnormal mammo Jan 4 2005, and biopsy Feb 14. It was b-9 but put me on this roller-coaster ride known as cancerland. Keep thinking positive that it is nothing.
Sue I would love to come and see you in Florida. Alot will depend on the economy if I can make it down. Right now I am struggling to keep my house payments current. We have cut out all non-essential spending in the past 3 yrs just to make ends meet but the ends keep getting farther and farther apart.
Sheila

Dear Lisa,
What can I say, except I/WE are all here, this S#$T Sucksssssssssss, and I wonder too when it all ends or does it ever.
I know my GP and BS are always extra careful and I guess that is a good thing, hell I think my GP would send me for a biopsy over my LUMPY BUTT if he could (I assure him thats perfectly normal -LOL)
Heres hoping and praying the "stupid, stinkin. rotten, nasty , "Spots" are surgery related (I don't rant as good as Sue) XOXOXOXOXOXOXO -Cathi
-
Thanks Sheila and Cathi!! I am trying to remember....B-9, B-9, B-9!
Cathi...you make me laugh...lumpy butt...lol
-
That was my goal Lisa to make you laugh, if only for a brief moment, if we don't laugh about this crap once in awhile we will go nuts.
XOXOXOXOXOXO -
-
You got it sister!!!! Thanks and much LOVE!!!
Looks like when Sue is in Florida...we may all meet up!!! Looking forward to that!
-
Well, cheet, cheet, and double cheet! ((((((((Lisa)))))))) I just know it's nothing. It can't be! I won't let it! Damn this stupid disease and the constant state of panic and anxiety it creates in all of us over every little thing! You're in my daily thoughts and prayers (you all are). I'll say extra prayers for b9 results!!!!!
Love you, Lisa!

I reconnected this week with a friend from college who I haven't spoken to in 25 years. She had bc ten years ago when she was pregnant with her daughter. We're planning to have lunch on Feb 16. We have so much to catch up on. I'm excited!!
Hugs,
Karen

Lisa -- Hang in there, dear. My first scary mammo happened just 2 months ago. Had to have an immediate MRI. I was clean, but those two weeks took about 10 years off my life, felt like. Prayers, and more prayers for every sweet lady here.
-

Karen...how awesome...25 yrs..that will be an incredible talkative lunch!!! Have I told you lately how HOT you look with your new hairdo??? WOW...HOT MAMA!!! YOUNG TOO!!
-
Okay, I'm blushing now. What a doll you are, Lisa. Thank you!!!

(I think I just gave myself carpal tunnel)
-
Yes, Nancy it is. I am starting to think I should have!
B9 it is!!
No..carpal tunnel..haha
-
OK Lisa - you are talking to the QUEEN of biopsies here. Believe me, I KNOW THEY SUCK. The stress they put you through is terrible. BUT, everyone I have had after my lumpectomy has come back NED. I am POSITIVE yours will too. My bs explained to me that the new mammo's pick up every little thing and they have to go in to make sure things ar OK.. She said the % of biopsies she does has doubled with these mammos and 9 times out of 10 they are fine.
I know telling you not to worry is futile but try not to let it bother you - we are here for you.
Hugs,
AE
-
Lisa, I was tired of the constant worry about what they would find after 2 times ADH (once in each breast) 18 months apart, that is why I had both of mine removed. I told the surgeon I wanted these ticking time boobs off! My doctor said my worst enemy was my mom but she took the best care of me while I was recovering.
-
I know Val...in fact I thought of you, right after the doc told me she wanted to do that. Honestly, knowing that you have had a few and they were all negative, has relieved me somewhat. I am trying to think POSITIVE that it will be b9. She actually didn't look worrisome..so that helped too. She said, since I had surgery on my good breast, that can make calcifications. Heck, she said even just having a big heavy dog jump up on your breast can cause it! No wonder you have them Val..lol
-
((((((((((Lisa)))))))))) I'm so sorry you are going through this. I hope you can keep busy over the next few days as it's so easy to imagine the worst. I agree with the others - it's sure to be nothing - but I know your mind will want to go to scary places. It sounds as though you have great doctor - very careful and quick to check the slightest little speck.

I'm sure Sue is sleeping now but how wonderful that she is going to the US! What a get together that will be! I hope you can all get to see her. Sue - When will you be doing this? It's so exciting!
-
Thanks Jane. I freaked at first..but I feel better now. Trying to stay positive. My doctor is wonderful. She hugged me and told me...she wants to be sure. I trust her with my life!
I don't think Sue has a date yet..sometime in the summer I believe. I sure will try and make it!
-
Lisa my hubby always says I was having a MX a lump at a time, hell in my "good" boob before the Bilat I had 9 "suspicious" areas done (2 were actually surgically removed as they were palpable) --------------------------- B9 IT IS FOR YOU MY DEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
