Hi dear sisters! I am so saddened to log on and read the news about dear Deb. Like most of you, I didn't know her well...but knew her fun posts and fun avatar. She was such a fighter and upbeat. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO ANGRY WITH THIS F*%^ING DISEASE!!!! God bless our dear sister Deb and her family. May she be free of pain now and rest in our dear Lord's comforting arms.
I am back from Arizona, and feeling much renewed! Except for the fact that we have about a foot of snow that has fallen since last night!!! Driving into work this morning, I went off the highway and down an embankment. I am fine...just needed a tow truck!
Cheryl...my thoughts are with you tomorrow. You will come out just fine dear.
Cathi..so good to see you back.
Much LOVE to all of my dear sisters here. I think of all of you daily.
Sue..I do feel your telepathy...really I do!
xoxo

Sue - you are very welcome. Don't worry about the money - just pay it forward.
Karen - the florist said she will try to post a picture - I sure hope so.
Ladies - I have a request. When this site went through its changes awhile back some of the ladies I always posted with(we all started chemo & rads at the same time) started a group on Yahoo. Valrose & Jule where a part of that group. Well its seems the group is getting smaller & smaller so the sister that started it has decided to close it down. Some of the ladies decided to come back here but are at a loss as to where to go. Would you mind if they joined us here?? Please let me know what you think.
Thanks ladies.

Valerie, go ahead and get your girls here. Tell them we may look awful but won't bite! *lol*
Sue, I too thought there's no way that I could purchase my rose for Deb because the florist was located in a different country. I posted in the rose shower thread asking if there's anybody that could help me participate in that wonderful act of love, then guess what? When I came back after work and went to read that thread, there were 3 women telling me that they already had ordered my roses. I went from no rose to 3! But that's not the end of the story. I had a couple more people PM me asking if I was still looking for help or just telling me they too had ordered my roses. They all said I didn't have to repay and just *pay forward* instead. So I donated some $$ to BCO in memory of Deb, as well as in honor of those generous women that helped me. Maybe you could make a donation or how about sending something to Deb's girls? I think they'd be thrilled to receive something in the mail all the way from the U.K. Just a thought.
Sorry I should go back to work now. Hope everybody has a lovely day or night!

Sue - darling donuts?????????
lol
-
Valerie, your girls are welcome here.
Sue, I didn't have the money right now for flowers but Nico said in the thread that she would pay if someone couldn't afford it. My pay it forward is the volunteer work I do at the wig bank and the crochet hats that I make for them. As Nico said, "Wouldn't the world be a better place if everyone would pay it forward". If you get a chance to see the movie 'Pay it Forward', you will see the theory put into practice from a school age boy's perspective, although it does have a sad ending.

I LOVE the movie Pay it Forward!! Such a wonderful idea and lesson!
Val...ABSOLUTELY...TELL THE LADIES TO COME ON DOWN!!! HAHA! WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THEM PART OF OUR FAMILY!
Sue..I like the darling donuts! You are so darn cute!!! I could squeeze you!!! Love ya Susie Q!
Did I tell you ladies that during the snowstorm here yesterday..that I slid off the highway and down an embankement? I was fine..waited 1 1/2 hrs for a tow! We got 14 inches of snow!!! I am ready for winter to be over!!
Back to work sisters....feeling good today...and loving each and every one of you! You all make me feel warm inside and loved!

I would like to send a rose for Deb. Is it too late? How much.
Karen...LOVE THE HAIR!!

Lisa, check out the Single pink rose for AlaskaDeb thread to get the details. Her funeral isn't until Saturday. You need to consider the time difference between Eastern and Alaska time. I think now it is 7:00 am. The phone number for Tammy's Florist is at the top of the thread. I think the count is over 150 single roses and the 'sisters of Swell' from the lymphedema thread have ordered their own bouquet of roses. There is also an idea to email Obama and each representative of your state on Valentines day respectfully asking for help in finding a cure in Deb's name.

Lisa, it's not too late. Deb's service is on Saturday. You can get the information as to how you can be a part of this on the mets board (there's a thread for Deb's rose) but I will post it here for you.
Call the local florist called "Tammy's Flower's & Gifts" at 907-260-5355 (make sure it's AK so there must be some time differences) and speak to Rachel and tell her that's for Deborah Clonan's service. She is the one that has been taking care of this. If she's not there, just tell the person on the phone that you are calling to get a pink rose for Deborah Clonan. I am sure after getting over 150 calls, every single person at the florist knows what you are talking about!

Thanks ladies!
I almost forgot...I got my tatoo!! It looks great!! My daughter and my sister were amazed at how "real" it looks. When I look in the mirror now...I feel like I have 2 "real" boobs! Very happy.
-
Lisa, the tattoo does make a difference doesn't it. It does make you feel complete.
Sheila
-
yes...it does Sheila!
I got mine a week ago today. It only slightly bled for about 2 days..hardly anything. I started putting non-fragranced lotion or vasoline on it, but w/out a bandage. Today I noticed a little slight peeling, almost like when you get a little sunburn. I go back in a month for my ps to look at it, and see if I need any revisions on it. But so far...I am very happy!
-
Hi everyone. I am sorry to hear about AlaskaDeb. I didn't know her but I did purchase a rose for her. I think we are all a family and sisters and God brought us all here for a reason.
Cathy, I'm glad you're doing better. Lisa, I hope you're not too sore from the accident.
Karen your hair is pretty.
Sue I love to read you tell bootface how it is and what he can do with his disease. I am so sorry for all of your loss.
AE - I think if anyone wants to join this sight, they will be welcomed with open arms.
I hope you all have a good day.

This is part of a post Gina wrot about Deb on the Moving Beyond thread -
Her last days were blissfully without any pain. She didn’t even require Tylenol. Her bed was set in the living room in the middle of all the action. On Saturday, the night before she died, she was sitting up in bed laughing watching her girls play with their wii. Sunday morning came and the cold Alaska landscape was shimmering with sunlight. It was a beautiful day. The girls went to church early and John left a little later. When he returned he kissed Deb’s forehead and said “Hi, I’m back.” Her parents and cousin were there with her as well as her best friend. After a while her friend called him over to her bedside and the time was growing near. He held her hand and talked to her and kissed her. Deb was in no pain, bathed in sunlight, with her family around her when she took her last breath.
And at the very moment she passed her dogs went absolutely nuts. They were barking like mad and began deliberately running to the South-South West field all the while they were looking up at the sky, clearly following something. John and the family watched them because they knew they were watching Deb break free of the chains of cancer and she was free to be outside and flying high to her loving God who awaited her. When John looked back at the bed, he saw that the body there was not Deb, what was there was just the body that housed her. Deb’s spirit could not be contained, she soared free. And she is with her family and with all of us. And she is Deb again. Cancer can never touch her ever again. Deb is free.
