Sue, that doesn't sound "normal" to me, but what do I know. What does your oncologist say? Or does you doc even know? I'd do a check-in if I were you.
-
I am going to the docs this week so I will ask... it is soooooo annoying ...feel wiped out!!
-
Judie, Graham used to be out in the middle of nowhere, but it's growing soooooo fast. Puyallup is just a five minute drive from my house. In fact, I did my bootface treatments at the Good Samaritan Cancer Center in Puyallup. Kent would be pretty much a half-way point. So would Federal Way. We really are going to have to meet for lunch one day. It would be so great to meet you in person!
Hope you start feeling better Sue. I hate that wrung-out feeling. Big hugs to you!
Well, gotta run. I have an appt with my surgeon at 3:30 to talk about having my port removed next Thursday.
Hugs,
Karen
-
Sue - my guess is that what you are feeling is all pretty normal. Your chemo treatments were really gruelling, its going to take quite awhile for you to get back on track.
I'm hoping everything went well with Cathi.
Lisa & Nancy - looks like our meeting won't be till after the holidays.
Just as well, I'm pretty broke too!
Where is everyone????
AE
-
Sue, I've not had chemo. Don't know yet if I'll need to? What does your oncologist say? It sounds like you had a terrible time with your chemo. I hope there is someone there with you tonight to keep watch over you. You shouldn't be alone.
By the way, limey is NOT chinese.
-
Cathi1, I'm thinking of you and sending good wishes for a speedy and uneventful recovery!
Sue, I'm so glad you are going to see your doctor next week. It's not fun to feel bad, but it's even worse to worry and wonder about why... so you will feel better just having a chat with the doctor. I wonder if you have something like we have here where you can call a consulting nurse with questions? It's kind of like a hotline that some hospitals or clinics have just so you don't have to worry about things until your doctor appointment.
As to limey or any other expressions--I ususally go to urbandictionary.com to find out about slang. Most of the time I find what I want to know there, and sometimes I find out more than I want to know! LOL!!!
My kids are home from college for a just a few hours tonight so we can get a family picture taken! It will be the first one in many years. I am so excited! I don't even care what they are wearing, etc... Best part is that the photo is done for free by professionals for our church directory. All I had to do was promise my kids (and their friends they brought along) a spaghetti dinner.
Hugs to you all!
-
Cathi,
I'm thinking about you today. Hope you're doing well. At least well enough to see that so many people are with you.
-
Val, Lisa, just as well...I came home last night feeling the tail end of a cold, and then woke up this morning with a UTI. I'm on cranberry juice hoping to nip it in the bud but staying close to home for comfort.
Cathi, I hope everything went according to plan - no surprises (except good ones). Let us know how it went when you're feeling up to it. I was so numb from the surgery, I didn't feel any pain for days. Then it hit, about four days later. Fill the pain pill perscription even if you don't feel anything now...it may be delayed like mine was.
Have a good weekend everyone.
-
Val, Nancy....I am glad that it's ok with you guys, since I can't make it. See...things all worked out. I hope after the holidays the money situation is better for all! haha..is that even possible??
Cathi...thinking of you...hope you are recovering well.
Back to work ladies
xoxo

Nancy...I hate UTI's...yuck! Hope the cranberry juice helps..thats what I always use. Feel better!

Hi ladies , I will try again. I was at the end of writing a nice long post last night , and crash! My computer was crazy everytime I tried to get back on. So , hopefully this will make it!
Sue , is it possible you may have an ulcer? They sure can cause intestinal , esofogus , mouth watering , heartburn stuff. I do agree with the others though , you probably had the longest , toughest chemo of us all. And as we know it kills off bootface , but kills good cells too. So it may just take you longer to feel really good again. Hugs to you.
Lisa , AE and UB and Nancy , sorry you all had to postpone. But it will happen and be a great time. Lisa and I had to postpone too , but it sure was great when we finally met up.
My prayers are with Shari , Cathi and a friend at works dil. She flew to Arizona to help out with their two little ones. She had a mast. yesterday also.Gosh I really hate this disease. It seems to be hitting more and more young girls. Her dil I don't think , is even 30 yet. You know , I remember seeing , years ago , a special on tv. They were investagating why very young girls were starting to develope at such an early age. They thought that it may have been from eating chicken and other meat injected with hormones. I really think this has something to do with all the bc. What do you ladies think? I just wish they would find a cure...
Hi Judie , good to see you. Hope you are feeling loads better. How is your ex doing? I hope everything turns out good.Sounds like you and Karen are gonna get to meet! That would be great. Wish I could be there too! Hope you are having a good weekend. Oh , your avatar is beautiful!xxxx
Nancy , hope the cranberry juice helps you. I hate that feeling. Get better soon.xxxx
Well ladies , gonna get some more cleaning done. Ttyl. Mel

Hi all. Went to have my IV sedation surgery to have balloon installed, and .... the surgeon said he wanted me to have general. I was disappointed and wanted to find out WHY his nurse told me IVA, but... rather not upset him before he does the surgery... ! It went fine. That was Thursday, and Friday morning I drove myself to have a CT for placement purposes for the clinical trial I guess. Placement was good. BUT yesterday I got a call that the paperwork was not all done, and so instead of starting rads Monday (tomorrow), I start Tuesday and end next Monday. Whaaaaa? Gr.......... The incision pain is minimal. He used the same incision line, and then the tube thing sticks out the side. It's weepy but not infected and not too bothersome. Nurse was smart -- pulled off all the tape and told me to use gauze pads with one large gauze pad on top held in place by my bra so no tape to irritate my skin.
That's my report. Hope it helps someone out there.
Happy weekend!
Mel, thanks so much for thinking of me!
Warm wishes and thoughts out to Cathi...

Thanks again Judie!

Good thougths requested for my ex whose diagnostic mammo is in two hours. I'm going to be with her...the first time we've seen each other in a year, so positive thoughts for me, too. It will be strange, but I don't want her to be alone.
-
Hi everyone, I am home, haven't caught up on the posts, just a quick hello, pretty groggy and sore but doing ok. No final path report yet, but the BS could not stop remarking at the 'tremendous" # of cysts in the right side, the drains sucks and so does this bandage -but I feel such a mental relief can't explain it. Anyway back to my recliner and sleepville.
LOVE-XOXOXOXOXOX

Judie, I'll keep your ex in my thoughts and prayers. Please let us know the outcome of her mammo, when you know.

BURN BOOTFACE!!!!
-
Gosh darn it AE!!! I HATE THIS F'IN DISEASE!!!!!!! It just seems like it will never end , until the end. We shouldn't have to live the rest of our lives on a freakin roller-coaster. Bootface was in my breast. They took it off. Is it gone? Gosh , well its suppose to be. But gee Mel , now you have to go see the onc every 3 months. And don't do this , and don't do that. And make sure you get tested for all the other high risk cancers you now may , or may not have.AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I can't take it anymore. This f'in "pink month" has put me over the edge. I need to get my mammo , colonoscopy , and pap. I think I'll just say f it all. I'm just sooooo tired of all the tests , waiting , wondering and no peace of mind. But remember , smile and be happy , cause if you don't Mel , your cancer will come back! F you bootface...

OKAY, OKAY, I see, hahahaha that our Sue love does NOT KNOW WHY the British sailors were called Limeys. Okay, now, it actually was because they were quite smart, or their captains were anyway.
One of the big problems for seaman in that day was scurvy, which is horrible and caused by the wrong nutrition. Since they ate only hardtack (horrible biscuits) and salt pork, (more horrible), at the back end of all voyages (some were two years or more) they got this awful scurvy disease which swelled up their joints and caused their teeth to fall out. Terrible disease, some smart British person (name unknown) realized that they were missing Vitamin C. So, they tossed in a barrel of limes to eat each day and the British sailors never got scurvy again!
Now, the Yanks, obviously dumb as posts, began to call them "Limeys", to tease them. While their own teeth were falling out. (Sue bug, aren't you glad we got our independence and you are not responsible for this mess of idiots over here?) HAHAHAHAHA
Hugs to all my dear sisters, I have been missing because Walt and I have been putting Marshall's house back together after the decorator finished and we are half dead. I expect to return to life in a day or two.
Hugs, Shirlann
Honeygirl, join an HMO like in California and the only test or referral you EVER get is to Dr. Krevorkian! Hahahaha
-
I think I will go have shock treaments to forget I had bootface.
-
Cathi, thanks for checking in. Go ahead and be cranky about drains and bandages, take drugs, sleep. Mostly sleep. You are past the summit. Hope you feel well enough to share all the details soon!
AE, I'm so sorry. You must feel like an over-used voodoo doll. Bootface sucks big time.
Shari, I know exactly how you feel, though the reason is different. It's the gearing up for the next step, then casually being told to move to the back of the line again. Read Sue's comments...they are far more eloquent than anything I can say right now.
Sue, as always, you say it best. Today I'm right there with you...mad as hell and helpless as a newborn. Bootface isn't fair...ever...he is more evil than than that axis our leaders keep talking about.
Karen, you are so comforting. I'm glad the musical was great. Was it a good bonding time with Portia as well? I've always treasured those mother-daughter moments, especially during the terrible teens.
Mel! I've never heard my dear sweetness and ray of sunshine speak like this! It must be bad today. (((((Mel))))). It sounds like a fed up angry day all around. Count me in.
