Lisa - I was so happy when I read your post! Great news about all the tests from your surgery. I am glad you atill have a week off to recover. The weekend will be such fun - just what you need and will help you heal. Love the photos - beautiful girls you all are! Yes, you could easily be sisters. Mathew is the cutest boy! So adorable! And Oliver - what a great shot - love the tongue!
Sheila - I was horrified to read about your injuries from your first husband and so glad that you were able to distance yourself from him. My first husband wasn't physically violent but there was a lot of emotional abuse - no physical bruises but still a lot of hurt.
Shirlann - how wonderful to be present at the birth of your grandchild! It must have been so special! I would love to do that. My sister was with a friend as she gave birth last year and she found it incredibly moving.
Nancy, you shouldn't have had to work so hard around the birth of your baby - what a difficult time it must have been for you. I find it incredible that your husband didn't want to look after his sweet little baby!
Kinclan, my best wishes to you for a long and healthy life. That is great that your gene test came back negative.
Judie - I completely agree with you about fall. Spring tends to be windy and unpredictable (and the heat of summer comes all too quickly!) but autumn is perfect - cool nights, beautiful sunny days. I am imagining the gorgeous colours of the trees changing. You live in such a beautiful part of the world.
Sue - I'll bet you are working flat out, crowding as much into your days as you can. Probably not a bad idea too - it will make the time go more quickly. This waiting is horrible. I am praying and keeping everything crossed for you.
Ulla - I hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather in Sweden. My sons just spent a few weeks travelling through the Scandinavian countries and such a great time.
Karen - how are plans coming along for your new house? I hope Chase has a great time at kindergarten. Is that the first year of elementary school?
Kaloni - have you moved yet or are you just working up to it? I wish I had never said that I was moving - it's taking so long that I feel silly!
Mel, thank you for your beautiful prayers, photos, and just being you and being here.
Love to all of you and to Jule, Ann, AE & UB, Fumi (can't wait to hear from you!) Wren, (hope you are feeling better) Suebee, Shirlann, and everyone.

Just wanted to give you a very quick update.
I arrived in NZ yesterday just fine, met him for the first time at the airport and got along well immediately.
Now I am sitting here, just right beside him on the couch, feeling 100% secure in his arms, 100% happy with his kisses.
Talk to you more when I get more time. OMG, I am just living this!!!
xo

Jane xox
-
Fumi!!!! I echo Jane's comment...I too, got a big smile and goosebumps reading how wonderful this is for you!!! YOU GO GIRL....YOU DESERVE THIS SO MUCH!!!
Heading off to court soon ladies, just a follow up for the child support hearing back in May. It should be uneventfull.
Packing for the weekend..pray for no rain!
xoxo

Fumi's got a boyfriend, Fumi's got a boyfriend!!!
Good Luck Lisa at court, I think before my xh signed over his rights I may have gotten $1000 in 2 yrs of child support. After he signed over his rights, the child support was suspended. I was raising my son by myself, I didn't need his money.
We are watching Tropical Storm/Hurricane Hanna very closely. It is supposed to come ashore around Myrtle Beach SC or Wilmington NC this afternoon/evening. If the projected path is correct, I will get some rain and some wind but not much coming as far West as I live. mostly affecting the coastal areas. My niece is in Norfolk stationed on a carrier. They are preparing to leave for their 6-7 month deployment next week but going out to sea this weekend to ride out the storm.

Hi everyone! It's another gorgeous day here in the Pacific Northwest. Judie, I love these days as well--beautiful, sunny days, without the extreme heat. We're planning to go to the Puyallup Fair tomorrow--it's just a 15-20 minute drive from here, depending on traffic. The weather will be ideal.
Fumi, I just knew Scotty thought of you as more than a friend! I'm thrilled for you!!!! Have a wonderful time and post again when you can.
Your pictures are gorgeous, Lisa! You look wonderful. I love your hair that way. I can't wait for mine to grow out enough to use a flat iron on it. The poodle dog look is getting a bit old. That picture of Oliver is precious!
I hope the projections are correct, Sheila, and that the storm doesn't effect you too much where you are.
Chase's first day of kindergarten went well (yes, Jane, it's the first year of elementary school here in the States). He said there was a whiney boy who kept saying he couldn't do it (not sure what "it" is), and then started to cry. Chase is so sensitive. He hates seeing others upset. He was so sweet when my dad passed away. He kept bringing me tissues and wiped my tears away.
Well, I'd better run and take a shower. Have a wonderful weekend everyone! I love you all!
Hugs,
Karen

Oh, forgot to mention your niece, Sheila. I'll keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

Yay Fumi! I'm so happy for you!!!
OK, 22 years ago I was mothering an almost two year old son (birthday 10/1) and verrrry pregnant with my daughter whose birthday is 11/11... We lived in a tiny little apartment but soon after would buy our first home.
It's a lovely, sunny day here... still have my darn sinus cold -- thinking about going back to Weight Watchers meetings because I can not seem to drop the pounds I gained this last year without some weekly encouragement.
Why is it that I maintained my weight loss over four and a half years but then get stupid old bootface, lose my boobies and GAIN 22 pounds??? What is up with that??? None of my old pants will fit so I've got to do something. I just can't figure out how I could eat so much or gain so much when I was doing go well. Obviously, stress factors in, but it must really make me retain weight too... I dunno though... I just need to work harder on it.
-
Wren, I am with you on weight gain. Before my surgery I had lost some much needed weight but on the scales I am back up higher than my highest before surgery. I have also put on about 20 lbs and can't seem to get rid of it.
Sheila
-
Be still my heart!!! Ah, love. Blessings Fumi and Scottybear...
Beautiful day, again. Wren, where do you live? I can't remember...oldtimer's, I think.
May all of us be happy and find someone/something to love today. It's all good.
Nurturing cuddles to Sue...
Judie

Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday dear Sue, Happy birthday to you.
Don't worry, Life gets better after 40, I will be 48 in a month!
Sue it sounds like it might be just a pocket of infection and they will be able to get that out easy. Donald gets these pockets almost boils like under his arms and when they hurt like crazy but when they come to a head and rupture the pain relief is great but they oze this horrid yellow/green/puss.
Sheila
-
Oh, Sue, it sure sounds like it's just a pimple or boil. I bet a stitch caused it!
And Happy, Happy Birthday! I'm sure now that you'll have something to celebrate.
-
I was just thinking yesterday, that I should check my birthday list because Sue's birthday is this month. Happy Birthday, dear Sue!!!!!!!!! And many mooooooorrrrrreee!!
Love you, Sue!!!!

First, oh Sue, I thought this thing was to acute and too fast and figured it was an infection. And I have never heard of a new cancer with green gunk! NEVER. So let's just see what happens, I had a couple of these heart-stopping episodes and it is no fun. Poor, dear Sue. Rotten luck, sweetie.
Ahhhhh, Fumi, I am so happy! What a wonderful thing to happen in your life. Here's to many years of bliss and joy together. Ah, love, what happiness blooms in our hearts!
Yes, Jane, it was very special, since I missed all three of my own. The first one, vaginal, I was passed out cold. Woke up in a room alone, rang for the nurse, and asked her "What did I have?". Annoyed at me, she came back about an hour later and said, "a boy". I said, how is he? How much did he weigh? She said, "I don't know, wait until morning," and left. In the 50's they would not let you see your baby for 24 hours! I was appalled, since I wanted to nurse, which the staff all discouraged. Then, the second one was a C-Section, Placenta Previa, I was in hard labor for 7 hours because the anesthetist never got the first message, so I just laid there in the hall, all alone (no husbands then) and groaned. Never saw my second boy, except for a few seconds in the delivery room. Then, the 24 hour rule was still in place, but I begged the nurse to let me see my third little boy and she snuck him in with the other babies. Sheesh, and my husband never had in part in any of this, way back then.
I have lost 11 pounds on weightwatchers, but I have lost 30 pounds so many times, I am a hopeless yo-yo dieter.
Ah yes, Judie, I love the fall. It is my favorite time of the year, too. So sweet and I love the sun, shining kinda slanted.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SWEET SUE, DID YOU EVER GET MY PACKAGE???????
It had the flea medicine in it?
Wren, so many women complain of this, and the general concensus on the wieght gain is the cortisone that they sometimes use to help with the chemo side effects. Ah, breast cancer, the gift that keeps on giving.
Karen, Nancy and Sheila, so good to see you, and your dear faces (well, the dog is sweet, too).
So hugs and kisses to Kaloni, our dear AE & UB and all the others I might have missed.
Gentle hugs, Shirlann (I first wrote Genital hugs, that would have been something!)

Happy birthday to you , happy birthday to you , happy birthday DEAR SUEEEEEE ,happy birthday to YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU! YEAH , CLAP , CLAP , HORRAH , SMILE , CLAP,...
Happy birthday my sweet sister! A "boil" for your birthday!?! Sounds great to me!!!! Make sure you still go to the doc, they must get the core out so it doesn't come back. For now , just relax and enjoy the wonderful anniversary of your birth! Love you Sue. xxxx Mel

Happy Birthday Girlfriend!!!
Love ya,
AE & UB
-
Sheila , prayers for your niece. Hope she is safe and not in the path of the storm.
Gosh , I wish we all lived near each other. I do soooo much better dieting with a friend. I am such an emotional eater. And really need to watch "portion control". Shirlann , good for you! I know what you mean though ,about yo-yo. I am a true member of the "yo-yo sisters club"!lol
Karen , sounds like a fun weekend for you. You so deserve it. Have a great time at the fair. Eat some of that yummy , but not to good for you , fair food for me!lol Chase in kindergarten! Oh what memories that churns up. He sounds alot like my Adam. He was very sensitive , still is. But he was the one crying , but it was his first day of pre-school. The teacher had to literally carry him into the classroom as he cried "mommy , I don't want to go"!. I left and went to my girlfriends and cried too!!lol When I picked him up , he was all smiles and said" glad thats over , and I don't have to go back again"! I knew I was in for one heck of a week. And after he got used to it , he loved it. He had a great teacher. And at "graduation" he had the line in the cerimonial speech , "at the beginning of the year , there were tears and tears , but as the year went by , they all had dried"! Sooooo cute. Of course , I cried again.lol. But for kindergarten , he was great. I was the one having the weeping eyes. I hope Chase has a wonderful year full of "fun" learning. Thats what kindergarten should be.
Hi Judie! Its so good to see you. Wish I could come spend some time in Wa. I would love to go to a coffee house with you and to that wonderful library. And to see some sites. And enjoy your company. Hows your grandson doing? Has he been over to visit lately?
Oh fall is my favorite time of year too. I love the cool nights and sunny days. But most of all the leaves. They are soooo beautiful. I thank God everyday that I get to see such beauty. When I lived in Tennessee , fall was OK. It is just different. The trees there are more gold and yellow , but here they are vivid reds , orange , purple , yellow , so beautiful. But when they fall , I long to be in Tennessee , as it is not so cold and snowy. Love to you Judie.xxxx
Anne , Happy aniversary sister!
Hope you have many , many more years of happiness. Lets see , 22 yrs ago , My son was three , I was married ,we had moved back to Ohio from Tennessee , and we were very poor , but happy then. Thanks for motivating everyones memories and sharing. I bet fall is beautiful there. I was in Colorado in the late seventies. I loved it , and didn't want to leave. I love the dry heat and it is so beautiful there. Hope you are having a good weekend.xxxx
Hi Lisa! So good to hear you are getting away this weekend and having fun with friends and "Dennis". You and your daughters are simply beautiful. But I must say , Oliver stole my heart! I just want to hug him and kiss him and do it all over again! He is just tooo cute! Hey , how about meeting for lunch on the 20th? I have "pencil" it in. Let me know. I have nothing planned. The only thing that might change , is if my SO has something medically going on. He goes to the Nerologist on the ninth. He was doing well , but has since started drinking again. And I can tell it is affecting his brain functions. So , Its sort of one day at a time when he is like this. But lets at least plan it OK? Love you.xxxx
Hi Wren! Hope you are getting over your cold , and hope you have a great weekend. Good luck with the weight loss. I REALLY know how hard it is. Maybe we can help each other here. Shirlann seems to have good results with wieghtwatchers. I never tried it. I have got to try something. Good luck whatever you try. xxxx
Hi Ulla! So good to see you here. But don't worry. As long as you stop in and let us know how you are , thats fine. I'm glad to see you are busy with school. I can't wait until you can practice as a dentist again. Tell your hubby hello. Hope you two have a great weekend.xxxx
OK , ladies , love to you all. Have a fabulous weekend. Love you all. Melody
-
Hi AE!! I forgot , I was gonna ask , where are you? So good to see you. How is our UB doing? Hope you are both "finer than frog hair" and having a relaxing weekend. Hey AE , how do you keep your weight down? I saw your pic on pinkstock thread , and you look great. Please , share any secrets you have! Love you , xxxx Mel
-
Sue - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! xoxoxox. I am late, I know, but lots of love and my very warmest wishes to you. 39 - still so young...40 is young! You have a lot of living ahead of you. The gunk coming out of the little lump sounds wonderful! It really does sound like an infection...sorry to be so enthusiastic about an infection but it sure beats the alternative!
Shirlann - lol!! A genital hug - that did make me laugh! That's a great weight loss! I love that wonderful feeling I get when I lose weight - it is good for the mind as well as the body. I think my mind is a bit weak at the moment! Lol! That was dreadful that you weren't allowed to see your precious babies for 24 hours - so cruel! My sister, who had her first child in the early 70s noticed a huge change in attitude between then and when she had her last child in the late 70s - the hospital was so much more relaxed - in a good way.
Sheila - I do hope that storm passed and your niece is safe. I didn"t have steroids and I have still gained weight since my dx. I think I haven't been active enough and maybe (!) a bit of comfort eating here and there...?!
Mel - what a lovely long post from you - love the pics as usual. I wish I could live near you and we could lose weight together! I'm sorry that your SO is drinking again. It must be so stressful for you - especially if it is affecting his mind. You and he are both in my prayers.
Wren - I think I said this before - my youngest son's birthday is also the 10th January. He will be 24 next birthday. Where did the years go?! Sorry to hear you are still not feeling 100%. Sinus is horrible. I've only had it twice in my life but it really makes you feel bad. Hope you can kick it soon.
Ulla - I'll bet you do really well in your studies. I wish it wasn't so far to Sweden - I would love you to be my dentist! It's good just to see you pop up here from time to time. I can imagine how busy you are. Good luck with it all.
Karen, Chase sounds like such a darling. I'm glad his first day wasn't traumatic for him. So sweet of him to be sympathetic to the whiner! I hope you have a great time at the fair.
AE and UB - hope you are both doing well. Are you busy packing to move to Florida? Do you have a house lined up there yet and a specific place you want to live?
Lisa - have a great weekend - let your friends and family spoil you and look after you! I'm so happy you have Dennis.
Nancy, hope you are feeling better each day and have a great weekend.
My dh is here working on the renovations and a friend of ours is arriving soon. 4 or us are going out to dinner tonight. I have a warm little cat curled up next to me...she's Possum's sister and about a week after Possum died she gave me a meaningful look in the driveway - as if to say: "Please can you be my special human now?" How can you say no to such a sweet creature? If her owners cared about her, she wouldn't be snuggling against me right now. She was hungry and thin but has blossomed since I have been looking after her. Such a pretty little smoky grey girl with marmalade highlights and white paws.
Well, must get up and do some work.
Love to all of you and also to Jule, Kaloni, Ann, Suebee and anyone else I have missed.
Jane xxx

Great news Sue! May your 40th year be the beginning of much joy, love, and a whole barrelful of fun.
If I'd remembered, I'd have baked you a cake like Connor's. Are you fond of construction equipment???
SOOOOOOOOOOO happy for you my dear, homely girl. Hmmm...homely? Giddy, perhaps?
Love,
Judie
-
Geez, you guys...how's a woman to keep up? I swear I read every word, but missed Shirl's mention of her near-typo until Jane referred to it. I almost collapsed in giggles. Gentle hugs all around, my friends!
As most of you, I need to drop some pounds. It's a lifelong struggle and anxiety relief through comfort foods isn't helping. But how do you exercise will-power when you put a load of clothes in the laundry down the hall and go out for a little walk in the sunshine while you wait, turn the corner and run smack dab into an honest-to-god Polish/German deli that makes sandwiches, has genuine weiners (not hot dogs) in the display along with head cheese and all kinds of weird liver cold cuts, etc., and is overflowing with all kinds of imported candy and cookies? I returned to my wash carrying a sandwich, a bag of Marzipan Kartoffein, a bunch of Malaga candies, and a poppyseed bread roll half-loaf. I will return for weiners and noodles another day. ARRRGGGHhhhh...
My neighborhood is fascinating and fun to explore, but there are way too many calorific discoveries lying in wait.
BTW, in the UK homely has nothing to do with how cute you are.
How I wish we were all together in a room chatting. I so enjoy the conversation, but trying to respond in writing is cumbersome.
Shirlann, when my first child was born, I was outraged that they wouldn't let me see him at will. I was severly scolded for unwrapping him to count his toes instead of using my twenty minutes to feed him. I demanded to be discharged the next morning so that I could take care of my own baby!
How I would love for that baby to be starting kindergarden with Chase. How very proud you must be, Karen. He sounds like a winner.
Hmmm...Jane...it sounds like Possum's sister's name must be Blossom? Bless you for caring for her. You have such a gentle, loving spirit.
Mel, it would be such fun to have a cuppa' with you and stroll the neighborhood and the city. With all the famous and wondrous things to see, my favorite has always been the Fremont Troll. If you ever get here, I'll show it to you. Thirty seconds and you have seen all there is to see, but it's special to me for some reason.
Tomorrow my son-in-law has invited me to go with him to Tacoma (Hi Karen!) to see the glass museum. I've seen pictures. It must be overwhelming in person. I don't know if my daughter is coming along, but who cares?
Her SO is the artist in the family. His parents are both semi-well-known modern artists who live in the Bronx, where he grew up. Very interesting, eccentric family.
I babble. Sweet dreams all!

Hi There, I better pop in here. Melody, that was so beautiful. You put up the sweetest things. sometimes, I still have some trouble inserting my photos. The prayer was so nice. I like that. You are a very sweet lady. And, Sue, Happy Birthday, sweetie. You just hold on there. Try to keep Positive. I do not think Bootface is back. Our minds sometimes just go wild. And, when something goes wrong, we suddenly think it is Bootface coming back to haunt us. Well, you know, I been under a little stress here lately, trying to pack for my move. I move into my own little place on Oct 10. I wonder if I am going to be OK. I am worrying about what if's, and, I know I shouldn't. I am having my bloodwork done Sept 11. So, after, I know that is good, I think, I will be fine. Well, I will check in later Sue. Get some rest. Bye.
-
Morning ladies and UB. Lisa , hang in there. It is very rainy , but the weatherman said , it is suppose to clear out this am , and be sunny. Fingers crossed!
Hi Kaloni! So good to see you. You're so sweet. I know , sometimes it takes me forever to post pics. I'm not sure if its the site or my computer. Good luck with your move! You will be just fine. Hey Judie did the same thing recently. I know its scary to be on your own , but if you ask Judie , I think she would say she is glad she did it. Judie , any words of wisdom for Kaloni?
Kaloni , good luck with your blood work. Lots of hugs to you my sweet sister.xxxx
OK , I have LOTS of domestic goddess duties to attend to!lol So you all have a great start of the weekend. bbl. Love ya , Mel
Oh Jane! Possum's sister! awwwww , Judie , how cute to name her Blossom! What do you think Jane? You have such a caring heart Jane. I'm so glad I know you!xxxxx Mel

Well it is hot here in San Diego. We have a grandson's football game to go to and it will be boiling, out of the breeze. Oh well, we will take our umbrella's that works unless someone is too close, then if bothers them watching the game.
Judie, I have been on WeightWatchers 4 times over the years. When I started it was $7 a meeting, Jenny Craig twice, NutriSystem about 6 times. And my own "invented" diets a lot. I always do well, like a 3 year old, as long as I get my gold star! I became a life member of Weightwatchers 4 years ago, getting ready for my oldest son's wedding. Lost 49 pounds. Gained it back in 6 months. ughhhhh I buy new clothes, everyone says how good I look, I prance around, then lose interest and start eating. Sighhh, it is very easy for me to follow rules, but I am hopeless on my own. I have a horrendous sweet tooth.
Without Fumi, I cannot post anything. Just a klutz. hahaha
Hugs, and kisse to all, Shirlann
