Wren - I am probably too late to wish you all the best for your surgery - but I have thinking about you! Will look forward to you first post but of course you will need to rest up for a while.
Suebee - that is such an annoying, frustrating thing to have to have another surgery. I guess all you can do is to be guided by your medical people. Wow - you certainly had a big night after the relay! Sounds as though you enjoyed yourself though!
Ulla - I will miss you here but anything is worth a try to help you get through this depression. I hope you can find things to uplift and cheer you. Just know that you are very loved and appreciated here.
Kaloni - haven't heard from you for a while...how are you doing? Hugs.
Big loves to everyone.

what is going on with this site, yesterday when I was doing the happy dance I got the 'oh, my technical issues' page 3 times, and when I was trying to post again today, I got it again!
I can't remember what all I said, but love and hugs to all

Suebee, major bummer about needing more surgery. I don't know how you stand it. Just the idea of another surgery gives me hives--and so far so good, for me. But you're right--what are we supposed to do? Just suck it up and deal with imperfect foobs, or try to get them as normal as possible--even if it means more surgeries? Take your time. There's no rush.

I remember part of what I wrote, SueBee it is a major bummer about more surgery. I am not happy with my tattoos from the PS office. My mom also thinks that I should be happy with what I have had done. She thinks that the tattoos are a waste since Donald and I are the only ones important that will be seeing them. I am not telling her that when the office is closed for July 4th week I am taking a day and going to see a tattoo artist in Asheville (75 miles away) to see if she can touch up the tattoos and make them look more natural. I didn't find out about her until after my first tattoo session with the PS office.

You know ladies , I am so tired of typing long posts to everyone , only to have it disappear. I hit the send button , and a message appears sayig down for mantainence. So , I am again tired , and will try to post tomorrow. Mel

It has been a "down for maintenance" day, hasn't it? Sometimes I feel like my life is that way. Looks like you got hit big time, Mel.
I'm sorry you have to decide about more surgery, SueBee. You should be deciding what you want for dinner or what color/size shirt to get for your daughter instead of how many times you are willing to have surgery. But there it is. Fair or not.
What to do? If this is going to be the third time, I would run, not walk, to the nearest second opinion and consider a new ps before scheduling surgery.
My heart is glowing with the news from UB and Sue. When you care about people, good news is wonderful medicine.
Ulla, you will be missed. A week away from home might help you to gain a new perspective if it is a place of beauty, good memories, interest, or healing for you. Know that we are with you. We can't run away from bootface, but we can run toward the love of friends and family, the beauty in the moment, and the promise of every tomorrow we are granted. And with that platitude, I say again...I'll miss you.
Sheila, I think you should have little stitches tattooed around the edge of your nipple so it looks like an applique on a quilt. So cute! Sorry...my weird side is escaping. I need to go reel her in...BBL.
Hugs,
Judie

Hi ladies. I'm laying here on my bed, trying not to fall asleep. Portia is at her 9th grade graduation cruise/dance. They left the dock at 9pm and will return at midnight. Sooooo, I have to go pick her up--and it's a 40 minute drive. Blech!! She did look awfully cute though. I'll have to share some pictures tomorrow.
I'll miss you Ulla, but I understand your need to get away. I hope you have some wonderful, relaxing moments and come back refreshed and renewed! Love you, Ulla!!
Love and hugs to all my beautiful bc sisters!

I made it!!!
I have soft squishy 700cc silicone implants...
What is really interesting is that I got liposuction too... under the breasts and on the sides... (I wasn't sure if I'd get that)
I'm in my hospital bed now, on lots of drugs...
No boobie pain; only pain is the bruising from the liposuction.
WrenHubs let me use his work laptop, so that is why I can post.
I hope to go home tomorrow (Thursday afternoon)
Thanks for the good thoughts and healing wishes.
I felt them all.
Hugs~
-
Hey Wren--that's great news. I too had the same and am 4 weeks out--and feel great. Yup...the lipo under the arms was the worse--the nerves leading to my left breast gave off some really weird sensations. Glad to hear all is well--take care.
Erin
-
Judie - stitches around the areols - - humm. That does sound fun but I am trying to let the scars fade not bring them back. My Hubby would find it cute also - he had warped sense of humor also.
Wren, Glad you have the soft implants. My ps uses teardrop saline in his BC patients but mine are also soft and squishy. He also threw in some liposuction on my sides and that was the area that hurt the worst. Just look out for the bruising where they did the lipo. my PS did my exchange surgery as outpatient, I was taken in to surgery at 1:30 and out by 3:00 and at my mom's home by 6:00. I had a little problem waking up from anestesia.

A quick post ladies....I know I had promised I would fill you in on my SEX IN THE CITY night...but I am tired and have so much to do to get ready for my vacation!!! YIKES!!
I had to fly to Atlanta for the day yesterday...and my day started at 3:45am and ended at 10:30pm!
Anyhow...I will try and post before I leave on Sunday.
Sorry to hear this site has been such a problem!
Wren...great news honey!! Glad to see you are doing well and posting from your hospital bed!
Mel..glad you had a good b'day...you SOOOOOOO deserve it!
Karen, can't wait to see the pics of Portia!
Jane..how was your weekend in the mountains? Relaxing I hope.
Suebee..sorry to hear about another surgery. Since I know the PS myself and I totally respect him and his work, I don't think he is stearing your wrong. But you could get a 2nd opinion to be sure.
Ulla....I am sorry you are feeling so down again. Maybe time away will help....I sure hope so. We love you!!
Well...I am off to pay bills, wash clothes, pack clothes..clean, run errands..etc! I wanted to go visit Matthew today, but I just don't have time
! When I get back I will.
Off ladies...enjoy your day...talk with you soon. My love to all my dear dear sisters here!!
xoxo

here is a quick pic of the night out...we had Cosmopolitan's at my girlfriend Tina's house along with a nice light dinner she made us. This is of 3 of the four of us. Kim, me, and Tina...ready for our night out to the movie.
It was all about the shoes and the purses...haha.
-
Cute!!!!! How fun, Lisa! I haven't had a girls night out in AGES. This makes me realize that I really need one. You guys looked great!! Can't wait to hear the details.
Wren! I'm so glad you're feeling well enough to post! I'm sure you're going to be thrilled with your new boobies. How great that they feel soft and natural. I'm so happy for you!
Hugs,
Karen

Here are the pics of Portia. She had a great time, but is worried that her date (one of her best friends) got the wrong idea, and thinks she likes him. It made her very uncomfortable. She ended up avoiding him during the last part of the cruise. Not exactly the best way to handle the situation!
Here she was getting ready.
Strike a pose! She needs to work on the modeling skills. LOL!!!
The whole ensemble.
With my mom.
A nice mother-daughter moment. Trust me, they're very rare these days.
Hugs,
Karen

Sheesh!! I look like such a moose in photos these days! I really need to lose 15 pounds.
Have a great day everyone!
Love and hugs,
Karen (aka "the hefer")
-
Karen, you look great, I have gained 15 lbs in the past year since my surgery. I am trying to walk, drink water and do better with my eating but it is not working. though these past few weeks it has been too hot to walk, so I try doing the exercise video at home in the AC. Penelope likes to get involved if I am on the floor.

Well a quick update....as I have just got back from a manager meet in Manchester and I have a lack of caffeine migraine!!!
I am goin to see my doc nxt week and get a referral to a physiotherapist and the dept for a fitting xxx
The pain goes all the way down my back on the bad side...it is all skin pain I think...not my ribs but over my ribs...down my arm everywhere...the onky said it was or could be cording and not to lift push or pull as there was a lot of fluid etc...xxx
She also agreed that I didn't need rads as the surgeons were happy with the operation xxx I cant wait to see a lymphedea doc
I love you all xxx
WHEN WILL THE SE GO I HAD MY LAST CHEMO 4 WEEKS AGO NXT TUES ...I AM STILL SORE AND CRASHING ...
-
Sue it is funny trying to exercise with Penelope in the same room, she thinks that I am playing with her when I get on the floor for the after workout stretches. When I am on my feet doing the steping and kicking, she is getting under my feet thinking she will be going outside. I don't want to block her in the kitchen while I work out in the living room because she would look at me through the gate with those sad eyes saying, why won't you let me in there with you. She is absoutely a momma's girl.
Hopefully the lymphedema therapist will help you with the cording and fluid build-up. I have not seen one yet but need to before I have any problems.

Yeah! Wren's got squishy boobs! Yeah! I'm so glad. Now hurry up and heal. Hope the pain leaves soon. Prayers to you Wren.xxxx
Hi Sue
! It may take a longer time for you Sue , to recover from all the chemo you had. You are so tiny and petite , I can't believe you took all that you did! Don't forget , the fluid build up and pain can take its toll on your energy level and make you feel tired and listless. Hope you get to see the le doc soon.xxxx
Lisa WOW! You ladies are hot! Love the shoes and bags. What fun! Now , get ready for your trip , so you don't have a lot of last minute running around. Love you. xxxx
Karen , another WOW! Portia is a knock out. And I loved the dress and nails! I'm some-what of a "nail freak". I get my nails done every two weeks. Every so often , I get a wild airbrush. I hope she had a good time in spite of the "uncomfortable" end. I'm sure he got caught up in the feeling of the evening. But then , who could blame him. Look at what a beautiful young lady he was escourting! I can see you in Portia. Your mom is a beautiful lady too. And honey , you are FAR from a heffer! I know you may feel uncomfortable , being bigger than you are use to. But believe me , you look marvelous!xxxx
Sheila , I can just picture you and Penelope exercising!lol She is so cute. Maybe she could sit on your feet while you do sit ups. Although , she would probably rather give you sweet slurpy kisses instead!xxxx
Well ladies , I have to run to the store and get my meds. ttyl. Mel

Wren - how great to hear form you! Sounds like your surgery was a great success - squishy boobs - yay! And liposuction - what a bonus! Now rest up so you can heal quickly. I hope the pain from the lipo goes soon. Please be gentle with yourself and don't try to do too much too soon.
Suebee - thinking of you and the dilemma you are facing. Maybe a second opinion would help? Although it's good to know that Lisa respects your PS. It's a tough one and I hope you can come to a decision you feel comfortable with soon.
I love, love love all the pics! Wow Lisa - you and your friends look gorgeous! What fun it must have been!
Oh Karen - Portia looks so prretty, grown up and sophisticated. I'm sure she had a great time and her date soon realised that she wasn't looking at him with Penelope-type eyes! You do NOT look like a moose! You look lovely! Anyway, I think moose are very sweet so it wouldn't be bad if you did look like one!
Sheila - I loved your description of Penelope's behaviour when you try to exercise - what a darling she must be!
Sue - I'm so glad you are going to see an LE person - hope you can get some relief soon. There is a café I go to and one of the owners serves on tables and she always wears a compression sleeve even though she is slender and has no obvious swelling in her arm.
Have to rush and catch a train. Love to all I mentioned and everyone else.
Hugs,
Jane xxx
-
Back again. Have decided not to catch a train. I'll stay home and do some cleaning instead. My dh and I were going to meet up in Sydney and look at sofas but as it's Friday and bedlam, I think we will do it next week instead.

I am home now... but wow, am I sore!
The PS explained to me this morning that she couldn't fit the 800 cc implants under my muscle because my rib cage wasn't wide enough.
The 800s would have been bulging under my armpits and up too high, so I got 700cc high profile silicone.
Then she said in order to make them look larger she lipsuctioned all the skin around the sides and tummy (she did my entire front from belly button to boob, and both sides from arm pit to waist.
The thing I didn't expect was that she liposuctioned my rear end (upper back hips area) and I wondered all night long why it felt bruised there...
Then I looked in a mirror this morning and OMG my entire upper rear end is black and blue (mostly black)... Wow!
I am so sore from the lipo, but not the boobs at all.
The boobs are soft and squishy.
I was told to get shapeware panties or a onesie... so my mom took me to Penneys and I did get a sports bra and large shapewear panties that go all the way up to the bra.
Wearing them helps, but wow, am I bruised!
I guess when the swelling goes down I'll look thinner... but I was told I could be swollen for a few months.
It looks likd my tummy is distended, like three months pregnant.
Well, I hope I get some sleep tonight!

More on Penelope and myself trying to exercise. Last night when I tried to exercise, Penelope was there laying on her belly ready to run to the door if I headed that way while I was doing the stepping and upright stretching, I actually bumped her nose while doing side steps, that is how close she gets to me. Then when I got on the floor for the cool down stretches, she wanted to climb on me and give me the wet kisses. She actually got mad and pouted when I told her to go to her corner. Yes she does pout when I scold her, she goes to her corner bed and if she is really mad at me, she lays with her nose in the corner and won't look at me, if she wants to make up, she puts her tail in the corner and lays her nose on her front paws and looks at me with those sad brown Basset eyes just waiting to pounce when I say come here so I can rub your ears. Like I said she is a spoiled momma's girl. And no she won't sit still long enough on my feet for sit-ups she just wants to play.
Wren, I also had swelling after my lypo on the sides and at first I thought that it did not work but now 7 months later I can see a difference, I am not sure when the swelling went down but it is different now.
-
Your Penelope stories crack me up, Sheila. Basset hounds are just the funniest things! Chase calls them "basket" hounds. LOL!!!!
Glad you're home, Wren! I hope your soreness lessens quickly. Wow--lipo all around! I'm sure it looks and feels bad now, but in the long run you'll probably be very happy with the results.
Hugs everyone! Have a great day. I'll try to bbl. We're supposed to be meeting with the house people today to get an estimate as far as what it's going to cost us to build this thing. I'm nervous!!!!
Love,
Karen

OH WOW, I love proms, what a lovely daughter, and you do not need to lose 15 pounds! That is what the camera adds, so subtract that and you are just where you want to be! MAGIC.
Sue, lovey, Just think, you would have already had the next tx, and I am glad you are done, and I agree completely with your team, you had such heavy duty chemo, and no nodes, you are GOOD TO GO! You will need to clean up some of these other issues, (I do wish you would withdraw from the Olympic Trials) but I know it is useless to ask you, you AMAZON WOMAN!!!!! You have no idea what you have just accomplished! SuperWoman!
Ulla, yes, take a while, sometimes it is all just too much, and a break and other things are so comforting. Just go and try not to think about this for a while.
Lisa, my goodness, Those 3 gorgeous women! The men must have been astounded to see you walk in the door.
Oh, a Basset hound! I always wanted one of those, and I wanted a black scotty, an afghan hound, a lab, a golden, a lapso apso, a min pin, sheesh, not enough life for me to have them all. DARN IT!
Anyway, everyone have a lovely weekend!
Hugs to all, Shirlann
