OMG Nancy what a story!!  They even had the nerve to MAKE the pizzas while they were cleaning????  Unbelievable!!

Mel - LOVE the squirrel. Never saw one like that before.  We only have grey here, but when I vacationed in the Adirondacks awhile back I saw allot of red ones.

    Sue,

Glad to hear you had somewhat of a relaxing day!

The way you describe your traffic sounds just like what I deal with.  I pass 2 schoools and a college on the way to work - I hate when school is in session!! I have to leave earlier to get there in time.

We used to change our clocks this weekend as well.  This is the first year they switched it to the beginning of March - kinda weird - still cold outside yet its light out at 7:30!!!

Have a great night - GET SOME REST!!

Hi ladies!  I know I'm late but I wanted to share a picture of Chase.  This was taken late last week.

Today I was out on our back deck planting geraniums and pansies in my containers.  It was sunny and warm.  What is with this weird weather anyway?

Have a great day tomorrow everyone!

    Hugs,

    Karen

Well, Spring has come to the gardens, if not the atmosphere. I took a walk around the yard yesterday and the sunny front garden (faces south) has already a bunch of little daffodils in bloom, the hiacynth have started pushing up (I can just see their colors) and the grape hiacynth have greened up and are starting to bloom, too.

My garden in the back is much shadier, so everything is a couple weeks behind the front, but still, the tulips have shot up their big leaves. My backyard daffodils, through, still haven't pushed up through the ivy that covers most of their bed. Hm-m-m, might it be the plastic tobaggan one of the kids dumped on top of it after the last snowfall?

One of the new brother-tenants is talking about putting in a vegetable garden. He doesn't have a chance! It's really to feed the rabbits and groundhogs that live in our backyard, LOL. The ground hog has lived here under a big forsythia bush for about seven years. He climbs fences, and makes our neighbors' big vegetable garden his own personal supermarket. So unless my brother does some kind of covered garden, he's just going to give the groundhog a closer (and easier) source of food.

I'm off to the onc today to see him mid-dose. I guess we discuss the blood-work results, and check to see if the tumor has shrunk or where the cancer markers are now. All I can tell is that the swelling of my breast has gone down...but that might have been post-biopsy trauma, not associated with the actual cancer. I can't feel the axilary node they say was involved, but then, it was deep and I couldn't really feel it before, either.

I want to take my sister out for a nice lunch. She's leaving tomorrow and I will miss her (but not for long...she'll be back the end of April) as the house has now become so testosterone laden.

Sue, Monday traffic is always the worst here around NYC, too (along with Friday nights). And when school is on vacation, my commuter parking lot is always only half full - and a breeze to find a spot.

My daughter's school district split the spring holidays this year. We have a very large Jewish population in our town, so we got four days at Easter and will get five days at Passover. It's the first time they've done it, but then, it's the first time in a while that the two holidays have been so far apart. Anyway, her longer break is still to come at the end of April. Any suggestions on what to do with a 16 year old while I work? Daycare won't take her, LOL.

I'd send her to her father's but he just made a move into a questionable area of Brooklyn. Our son went to visit him over Easter, and he said he didn't feel good about the neighborhood (it's the fringes of Bedford-Stuyvesant). It's an area going through changes, and may be better in a few years, but my ex admitted to hearing gunshots one night the week he moved in. Anyway, I don't think I could tear her away from her boyfriend. She's applied for a couple of jobs, but has been slow to follow up. Maybe a miracle will happen, and she'll actually get one!

Hi Sue - lots of love to you too. I hope your day isn't too hectic and you can get some rest sometime soon.

Karen - what a gorgeous photo of Chase! Crazy that you are having warm weather after being so cold last week - I hope the warm days continue for you.

Hi Nancy - will be thinking of you and your appointment - I hope your blood results are good and that the chemo has really given bootface a king hit.

All our calendars said that Daylight Saving Time would end on Saturday night but the powers-that-be decided to extend it by another week. So yesterday there was a lot of confusion from people who hadn't read the papers or listened to the news and a lot of computers and older cell phones automatically wound back an hour! So now we have to wait until next Saturday night for DST to end. The mornings are chilly and dark so it will be nice to have the sun next week.

Well, my computer says 9.58pm but I know that's an hour earlier than it really is so I must go to bed.

Love to you all - all the ones I haven't mentioned too - you know who you are!

Happy Monday.  I am trying to motivate myself to get some cleaning and laundry done!  I have to go get groceries as well, because my fridge looks like Karen's dh's before marriage..minus the beer!  haha.

Well...the pic of the white squirrel is cute Mel...however I don't like squirrels anymore.  I like chipmunks..but not squirrels!  I tell you quickly why... They made a nest in my chimney...and to make a long story short..if it wasn't for my carbon monoxide detector...Me, Alise (who was pregnant at the time) so Matthew would all be dead!!  We had been getting headaches for weeks...and luckily just day's before the detector went off...and you could smell the gas..we bought the detector.  The man from the gas company said we were very lucky!!

So..I have lots of squirrels running around my yard...but I would like to get rid of each and every one.

Nancy...good luck on your next tx.  I remember feeling so good by day 11..or so..then knowing the next tx is just around the corner.

Karen...what a cute picture of Chase!!! This weather sure is something else.  Like all of you...I agree we need some spring.  I was out working in the yard yesterday picking up sticks and branches from all the wind..and I did notice that I finally saw signs of spring...my tulips and hyacinths and crocuses are blooming!! yeah!!

Mel...we have to plan our Nordies at noon!  By the way did you get a chance to read while you were away?

I may try to download a link to a video on youtube.  Olivia's friends from HS, they love to make music videos..and they made one to "who's that lady" song....and she was the lady.  It's funny...they did a cute job!

bbl...have to get some work done!

    Have a wonderful Monday!

    xoxo

Lisa, you can get a chimney cap made with screen to cover the chimney and keep out squirrels, birds, bats, etc. We had a bat come down our chimney one summer and it died in our wood stove. I happened to be the one to find it there. I was burning some old school papers and found the furry thing hanging on the side of the opening when I opened the door, It scared me to death!

My crocus have long since finished blooming and the daffodils and grape hyscenths are now in full bloom. Last week we had 70 degree temps but over the weekend we had highs in the 40's and lows in the low 30's and overcast and drizzles.

I am glad that I am not the only one who has to be motivated to clean. I am still trying to clean out John's room so he has a place to sleep in May.

Sheila, I do have a cap on the chimney! It's metal...they chewed through it!! We got a new on on now!

Ever since this cancer crap, esp. this last surgery...I do have to be motivated!  It's horrible! And if I don't get off now...I won't have time! haha.

Hey..I just now got into my email.  I have the pic you sent me of your son...I'll post it for you!

Ok...Ill post that..then get my butt moving!!Money mouth

    Hi ladies,

Lisa, I thought that video was so cute. Olivia is a doll.

Sheila, your son sure gets around, LOL. "Join the service and see the world!" One of my sisters had an entire career in the Army and seemed to just go back and forth between the States and Germany.

Well, the report from the onc is good. He was very happy with the softening of the breast from the tx, and said we're on course as far as the bloodwork goes, so unless I hit some kind of bump in the next week, dose #2 on 4/10.

Nancy, great news from the Onc

My hubby did 4 yrs in the army and saw Georgia, California, Honduras, and Germany. Not much travel there. The Navy is good to get around. My son though cannot wait to come home on leave.

When my son came home Christmas 06 he brought me pocket change as my Christmas present: Australia, UAE, Bahrain, and Singapore. I can't wait to see what he brings me this time Wink.

Nancy where in NY do you live?  You are in the city right?  My dad is from Brooklyn.  I love NY.  Olivia said today, that it's time for a visit! We could fly in for the day, just to shop...or should I say I would window shop..no money to buy! haha.

Glad to hear your oc visit was good!! Yeah...right on track! Just what you want to hear.

I seem to bounce back and forth between the city and the suburbs.

Right now, I live in the suburbs to the northwest, but I work in Manhattan and commute in every weekday. I used to work in Rockefeller Center until last June. My office moved downtown to a building a block away from the last apartment I had in the city. We (as in then-husband, and two kids) moved from there about 13 years ago. When I divorced, I looked into moving back into the city but the rents had taken their astronomical turn and I decided accepting my Dad's invitation to share the family home was a much better decision economically and physcially. As my Dad has aged, I've been able to keep the house up for him. He's been adamant he wants to stay here to the end.

My ex is living in Brooklyn 'cause he didn't have to house and educate two kids. His last place was a hole-in-the-wall, but cheap. He just moved to a slightly nicer place, but as I mentioned above, it's in a fringe area...being gentrified but he'll probably get priced out of there in a couple of years, too. When he left us, he said he wanted to live life "on the edge" (typical midlife crisis). Well, I guess he got his wish. :-)

Great news from the onc, Nancy!  Glad to hear that the chemo is doing its job.

Valerie, good luck with the biopsy tomorrow.  I'll say extra prayers for you tonight!  And some for UB too.  You two have been through so much!

Where is our Sue today?  Hopefully she's resting up for her big day tomorrow.  I wonder if she'll hide under her coat and curse bootface during the entire infusion again.  LOL!!!!!!!!  Hang in there Sue!  Do you have two or three left after tomorrow?  We're all thinking of you and will be there with you in spirit.
