Kerry, my dear.  You work!!!  I don't!!!  I don't even work INSIDE the home.  I used to.  And, you have a daughter that you have to run around.  And what I cooked tonight was NOT healthy!  But this isn't the thread on eating healthy.

I have GOT to vaccum tomorrow.  I have FOUR cats.  I also need to dust and mop the kitchen, foyer, mudroom, and half bathroom floors.  HA!  Someone, PLEASE put a match to my behind!  Think a B-12 shot would help?

do you think we'll ever get to the point where the entire house is clean all at once? :(  So sad  really...so sad to live this way.  Even the outside is looking shabby now....nothing is done to completion.  And my car!  Oh my!  It's filthy!  I hate construction too....oh, wrong thread...well...there it is, and I'm leaving it! :(

Hang in there girls....the floors will be even dirtier by 5pm today, even for you who are not home and working outside of it! :)

Shirley:  Why don't you rename ALL the rooms "mudroom" and let them live up to their names?  That sounds way easier than what you have planned.

I don't have time to address everybody's comments..I have a long day ahead of me and need to get rolling on it...so a blanket good morning to all!

I feel like I'm forever rising from the ashes, starting over at square one at every turn.  I had been steadily feeling better since march, had an especially good day on July 18th, and then boom, fatigue is back with a vengence.

Then on Sunday I had a most unexpected visitor -- my period!  Unexpected and unwelcome also!  Chemo put me into instant menopause back in 05.  I had a period last year in May and now again.  No wonder I was feeling out of sorts!  Coincidentally, I had a liver/gall bladder detox planned for this week.  I didn't follow the program 100%, but I haven't had any milk or dairy of any kind since Sunday.  This is a drastic measure in my book.  Today is the fifth and final day.  The literature promises increased energy as one of the benefits.  It can show up anytime now....  :)

<> Hey Shirley, you have me wondering, do you have bunches of clutter on your floor?  Feng shui  authors I've read say clutter on the floor will weigh a person down.  I don't know why I mention it.  I tidied my home office floor a week ago and I'm still waiting for the benefits to arrive.

Wish, I haven't cleaned my entire home for a very long time.  I always forget I have a living room and dining room.  I keep those doors shut.  And, the living room is cluttered with toys for gk when they come down.  The dining room is finally uncluttered with stuff on the table.

When I do clean the "entire" other part of the house it's when my dd and dh and gks come for a visit.  But, as usual, I forget those two rooms.  It takes me a few days to clean the house.  By the time of get done I'm exhausted.  If I did it routinely I might would  build up an anti-fatigue thing (can't think of a word).  Otherwise, I'm too freaking lazy which makes me very fatigued and I hate housework!

So, I continue not being able to get my act together and I don't know why.

    Shirley

Patrice, hmmmm...mudroom would be a good name for all rooms.  I think I'll start telling my kids that's what they're called and that's why they don't get cleaned.  That way I wouldn't have to break my back cleaning when they come. LOL

BTW, I received a call from my gyspy dd.  They're still in Colorado.  So far they like Santa Fe.  They have a plan if the plan works out to stay in Colorado for a few months.  I'll have to update you later on that.

Althea, believe it or not I don't have a lot of clutter on the floor.  It's cluttered with dirt and hair.  I must admit the living room needs some things removed LIKE toys and stuff.  What gets to me is all the dust that piles up because I don't dust every week.  I will reiterate, I do not like cleaning.  I remember when I'd take one room at a time..spring cleaning...and do windows and all that stuff.  It felt good.  It hurts too much to do that stuff now. LOL

I don't remember when my entire house was clean at once. Possibly when one of my friends was staying with me during one of my surgeries (which would have been early 2007).

My living room looks passable, but if you look close, you'll see a layer of dust over everything.

The kitchen has dishes in the sink... I don't have a dishwasher.... very old house. The floor needs to be mopped badly.

The computer room actually has clothes piled in the floor and other stuff, as well. The desk is pretty clean because I just got a new computer and everything got cleaned off when it was set up. The rest of the room is just pitiful.

My bedroom is basically trashed, but I did put nice clean sheets on the bed. Ahhh, gotta love 600 TC in the midst of the chaos.

My bathroom needs to be cleaned. Shock! My knees are too bad to clean the tub, so I just spray it with cleaser and wish it clean. That's not really working that well.

I will wash my mountain of laundry this weekend and clean the kitchen. That's all I hope and dream for....

I'm so glad I'm not the only slug out there.

    Happy weekend.

    Miss S,

You are FAR from the only slug out there.  I, too have a very old house with no dishwasher.  Do you at least have a window at your sink and something nice to look at while you are washing?  I have a fine old-fashioned double-hung wood window that faces west and try to plan my dishwashing for the sunset hour.  It's actually kind of enjoyable.......

My living room, foyer, kitchan and main bathroom are passably clean, get dusted once a week or so and vacuumed as well.  The bedrooms downstairs get their doors left closed, and one of them is clean but only because I have had company staying with me for chemo because  my husband flies for the airlines and is gone half the time.  My bedroom is clean but cluttered, clothes on a rocking chair, magazines on both nightstands, 800 TC sheets that get washed and hung on the line outside nearly every weekend...got to have a fresh soft bed.  Bathroom is clean but cluttered, same problem as you with the bathtub, I maybe get it completely clean once a month.

    I like myself anyway.

    I hope you do too.

Sue, you're getting chemo (just got your last one? right? YAYAYAY!) and you're doing twice as good as me! My tx was over a year ago!

I do like myself, but certainly not for my cleaning tendancies.

I can see why you like yourself.... you're fantabulous!

Sue, congrats on the final tx!  I think I told you that on another thread, but I'll blame chemo brain for it, if I didn't! :( I don't think I have chemo brain really. I think it's dust brain now!  Too much dust on the brain from all this nonsense I see around that if I had a dumbster I might use to just toss it all out and start over.  Man I wish I could afford to do that!  I mean, the dumpster.  I wouldn't even mind not having the 'stuff', or end tables or what not! They just get piled with crap be/c there's no where to put anything even IF I were organized!  UGH!  hate it!

Oh well....Hmmm...they've got one of this big ol' road crew dumpsters they use for roots and tree parts and what not parked by my drive this weekend.  I wonder if I filled it with household leftovers, if they'd be nice enough to not complain and just toss with the other junk they are digging up? :D  A girl can dream.... dh's golf clubs (he uses once a year and are sitting in the family room) the vaccumm that has no home, so resides in the middle of the floor in the spare room, His lap top that is broken and sitting in the dining room for the year on an end type table...for that matter the end table can go and he'd never miss the puter! :D  Then there is the boxes of CRAP that he fills when he cleans his desk. YES, the man does not FILE, he just loads it into a file box and stacks them up in teh bedroom! UGH!!!!!!!!! HIS camera, bag and paraphenalia he gets out the 34 hours he's home once a week and then leaves on teh end table for me to put away!  His crap...all of it would make my cleaning much easier! Even his clothes! IF I threw them out, then I wouldn't have to pick them up, clean them and put them away!  GREAT IDEA! :D  I could have fun cleaning house!  Now to get that 'get up and go' kicked in and all would be great! :(

So why do we care if the house is cleaned perfectly?  Are people coming to see us or the house?  Why not purge the things we don't want...put things the street, arrange for the town to pick up stuff.  Doesn't have to be done all at once--a little bit as you go.  VERY SATISFYING!  I don't know about others but house cleaning is not at the top of my list of things to do as I go through this experience of cancer (family time, time in the sun, doing things that bring me joy IS on my list)  Lets not bet ourselves up over housecleaning.

    Elaine,

We are not beating ourselves up over housecleaing,  We are CELEBRATING that we don't clean, and giving each other permission to be messy, and ourselves.  I do agree with what you say is important, you've got the picture!!

    WELCOME!!

My friends don't come over to see my house and how clean it isn't (at least I don't think so).  But, I still get embarrassed if it's not clean and it IS NOT clean.  When my kids come home I feel I MUST clean a little bit.  My energy level doesn't let me clean a WHOLE lot.  I think I get that from my mom (clean before kids come home).  She NEVER cleaned before we got there.  One time the bed wasn't even changed and we had driven from N.C. to Texas.  I had three little ones.  I was ready to walk out, get in the car, AND LEAVE!  And she'd leave all kind of dangerous things around..meds, razors...amongst other things.  I have to move things off my end tables..pictures...because gks won't leave them alone.  However, it's getting better.  My youngs sweet little grandbaby boy is three now.  I NEVER moved stuff when my kids were growing up.  Actually, I didn't have much stuff to move. LOL

I love my closet under the stairs.  If someone is coming and I have some clutter hanging around I toss it into the closet.

Even with 5 kids, my mother kept a clean home!  NOW, I'm amazed!  Although I remember her ironing till 11-12 at night, and getting up to make dad's breakfast each morning, whether it sunday or monday.  Us women have started to revolt on the theory that when we go home for the holidays (mom is 80) that the women are the only ones to cook! It's all my fault!  I never could understand why the boys got to watch football and sleep after T-day and us girls and mom had the cleanup!

So, a couple years ago, I said announced at T-day dinner, that WE had done the prep, cooking, setting a table and such, the men/boys and those (girls who showed up late) could do the clean up! What a fun time we had watching them!  We got coffee and went in to the living, but dd took pics.  I have one brother that is the sort, to manage everyone while he stood holding the chip bag.  Another would have covered the pans with saran and put them in the frig. Thankfully dsis and I had trained out dhs' a little bit better and at least they put them in containers first! Although nothing LOOKED pretty after being transferred.  The turkey even looked like something reguritated after they transferredit!  MEN!

I clean, but I do NOT move my furniture every week to vaccumm!  No freaking way any more!

Way to go, wish....clean up after thanksgiving is the worst part.

My mom keeps a ridiculously clean house, which is why I haven't allowed her to come to my house in 2 years.  I don't want to see the inevitable eye roll and hear the comments of "Why don't you throw this out," etc.

I like Shirley's idea, but I don't have a closet big enough to throw everything into.  So now what I do is entertain at my mom's, where her house is immaculate 24/7.  LOL.  I'm not kidding.  I had friends over for dinner a few months back and told them we'd do it at my mom's because her house is closer to them and easier to find.  I'm so considerate. Innocent

Sealed Too funny!  I wish I had someone close enough to do that with!  I'll admit, after tx, my elder sister was trying to get me to do a pampered chef show.  I seriously tried to pawn it off on my daughter in town, so we could have there as her house is always clean too!  Sad people we are, but what ever! :D  It would be nice to not be ashamed of my house, then again...that's a part of me...take it leave it people! :D

I have a thread about this in the hormonals section of the board, but want to post this info here for you girls in case you don't go into that forum.

If any of you are taking Arimidex and hate the new packaging--blisterpacks and it's awful.  Impossible to get the pill out each day--if you call and complain to AstraZeneca, they will most likely take down your name and address and send you a voucher for a free 30-day supply.  That's what has happened with other girls who have called.  I just called and they didn't say anything about the free voucher, and I didn't ask, but they did ask for my name and address and I'm assuming I'll get a follow-up letter like the others have that includes the free voucher.  Due to so many complaints, the nice lady on the phone told me they have redesigned the package and the new package will be available hopefully in September.  I guess they're getting FDA approval on it.

Anyway...a free 30-day supply I think is wonderful....especially if you have no insurance or lage copays.

    AstraZeneca's phone number is 1-866-992-9276.

Well, thanks for the info, I was going to do it before and had forgotten, but did now!  I also explained how a couple ended up under the frig as a result of chasing them away from the kitties.

She explained that IF you take them to your pharmacy, they would be able to help by getting them out in one piece and not ending up on the floor! :D I Hope anyway!

Thanks again, dear heart!  You're a pal for the reminder!

Okay...I have to add, that I probably won't be doing any hefty chores for awhile around here! I was rolling up the hose (that 150' of teh 200') that rolls into a reel.  When it got to the connection where the two hoses are put together by dh (NOT dearest currently) last time he was home, it broke apart again!  So, I wrenched my neck. You really have to push the handle around and when it broke of course, all my strength was pushing and I did something when I jerked it to my neck and shoulders! OMG! I've taken 2 extra strength tylenol and put on ice, but it'c killing me!  I'll be taking a couple motrin in a bit too, but dang it all! I hate that I CAN'T do what I use to!  I hate it! And I refuse to the little stuff inside when I can't even fill my barrel to water tomorrow :(  My poor garden is limp!  It needs water!

    Wish....so sorry about your neck.

How about swapping gardens for a while??!! Mine is swamped out, everything is soaking and growing away like mad, all the plants look so lush and well, TOO well in fact. Some of the plants I would expect to flower mid September, are blooming away now.

The fruit on my plum tree has gone shrivelled and mouldy this week.

I am sick, sick, sick of rain, I haven't been able to get my lawnmower onto the grass for 9 days, and sick of the dogs bringing in muddy paw prints whenever they nip in and out between downfalls.

My garden keeps me going though I can't do what I used to do, even if I'm having a bad day I just go sit outside among my plants, but this awful rain is driving me mad, so I guess you must feel the same about the reverse situation, where you have no rain.

Hope the neck isn't as bad as you think, I had a whiplash in a car crash about 30 years ago, and still feel a sort of 'clunk' when I turn sharply. I try and tell myself I'm imagining it ! Trouble is when you love gardening its hard not to try and do a bit of something each day.

    Isabella.

That's what I've been trying to do today, NOTHING!  Hard, but I'm trying hard too. It's feeling a little tiny bit better, so i'm hoping it's only a pulled muscle sort of thing, although its involving the back of neck, shoulder and spine a bit.  Dang it! I hate being so weak this year!  It's nutty!  I'm doing a lot, so why do things happen :(  If it gets bad tonight, I might break out the left over oxy from surgery.  Only used a 1/2 doz back then, so there are a lot left!  Ought to be good for something!

Thanks for sympathy, a girl can always use it time and again.  Gsg, I only wish 6 months off and the massage?  HA!  that would be the day!  do you know how many perennials I could buy for one massage?  :D

Oh my!  Are those like for cleaning with, or spongy for non-slip? Or what?  Interesting....slipper genie?  Do they change into a merry maid maybe? Wouldn't that be the bomb! :D

Personally, with two kitties, and sitting for another in the workshop and a blonde lab (2 years old and full of vim and vinegar coming to stay a week), I might need a full body set like that!  What did I get myself into this time?????????

I saw them in the Solutions catalogue.  Here's what it says about them:

The fluffy microfiber "fingers" that make up the soles on these soft fabric slippers grab dog hair, gather dust bunnies and collect dirt. Use them on wood, tile, vinyl and more—there are no hard edges that can damage the floor. One size fits women’s shoe sizes 6-9.  $9.95

I wonder if I could slip a damp swiffer pad onto my feet for a wet mop.  hmmmm.  something to think about.

You know, there's only one thing I can think of about these, is that they may be really dangerous for us for 2 reasons!

One, being a walking time bomb with our feet in the morning!  I can see me tripping down the family room steps (which are carpeted) with a full cup of java!  OWY!  Been there, and done that!

and MOSTLY importantly!  YOU do realize we'd be cleaning all the time we were wearing these things!  Hmmmmmm..I wonder if it would clean my dusty monitor, if I sat back farther in my chair and stuck my feet up there!?  :D

I hope your neck feels better.  I'm sure it probably does, since that post was from a week ago, but I just read it.  Sorry!  Still, thinking of you and hoping you are feeling better.

gsg, Those slippers look like they would work nicely for cleaning up the floor!  We have two cats, and one is a long hair, so they might come in handy for picking up all that cat hair!!

    We wouldn't be technically cleaning!!
