gsg,
I didn't mean that I am sorry your Mom is ok... I meant that I am glad to read that
your Mom is doing well... but sorry she has been sick...

No worries...I knew what you meant,Harley. My mom isn't doing so well, but my SON is recuperating nicely and doing very well. Mom is now on hospice.
-
oh, I am sorry...
Hope your son continues to improve!

This is such a good thread. I'm coming up on 3 years out in a couple of months. I am now really starting to feel good. Its taken a while but I have the energy to face things now. I think it all just took a lot out of me and I was 63 when I was diagnosed. I had surgery, chemo, Herceptin for a year, radiation and arimidex. On top of that, I had been on HRT therapy, so had to go off of it almost cold turkey. On the positive side, I went thru all this and at the beginning I had no idea how I could. what a miracle. so ladies, there is hope.

Harley, gsg, brings back fond memories to "see" the two of you posting here again. I have not gotten my act together, however, I do have to say it is more together than ever before. I've been retired almost three years and the kids are grown and gone...and my dh and I are finally learning to pick up after ourselves!! Apparently we blamed the kids for years and it was us...
-
wow. hello, sue! so good to see you. really lol'd at you and dh blaming the kids only to find out it was the two of you. so jealous that you're even a little together. maybe i'll blame my lack of retirement on my still disastrous closet, drawers, etc. things are really haphazard as i've been living between two houses since last summer. will try to get dressed for work and have "the" skirt...but not "the" top or missing the jacket, etc. If I do have all the pieces, don't have the right shoes wherever I am. 5+ years after starting this thread, nothing has changed, except my dining room table looks okay sometimes.
wonder if you'll be back to see this.
-
Yep, I'll be back to see it. I check in here pretty regularly, just a couple of threads, yours is one. My daughter-in-law told me about this website called FlyLady and it's about keeping your house clean 15 minutes at a time....it seems to be working for me. I mean, I can actually see the bottom of my closet (by that I mean the floor)...someone showed up unexpectedly the other day and it was not a big deal. It used to be when my kids were home, if I started cleaning they asked who was coming over. (LOL)
How's it going for you other than the house(s) stuff? I don't envy you the two-house situation. Take care! I'll be BACH!!
Love,
Sue

I just found this thread and I'm sooooo happy. I finished radiation last week (May 31)
and I thought I would be celebrating, not so much. Like the rest of you I was 'superwoman' through everything but now I'm not myself. I cry a lot, and like many of you, can't get my act together nor do I care. I am 65, still teaching (keeps my mind from thinking about the R word) and still have two grown sons at home. My friends tell me that I am too hard on myself, my RO wants me to see a shrink, I became vegetarian, went organic, obsess over exercise, get mad at my husband all the time because I have to TELL him what I need done and, of course, my house has so many dust bunnies I can't find my cat sometimes when I'm looking for her......HELP -
Hi is anybody out there or is this thread finished?
-
Hi Scottiee1. Maybe this thread is finished. Try http://community.breastcancer.org/forum/7/topic/786554?page=3#idx_89. It is active and is pretty much the same subject.

Thank you.
