Good morning sisters
Marg~ You lucky dog, that will be fun...pictures when you go! We want to see...
I'm up early, have a pot of pinto beans on and ready to hit the treadmill later on after some coffee. I don't have to work today, just on my house. And believe me I would rather be at work.
The tree has to come down and all the lights. Plus the regular stuff I have put off. I have little piles in my bedroom that need a home from me sorting out my closet.
Michael and I started a healthy eating plan yesterday. How many times has that happened LOL, but maybe this will be the one that works.
BTW, we had a great time out dancing, but Michael said it really made him realize how out of shape he has become. So we kinda had our last meal so to speak, at the New Years celebration. The food was unbelievable, and at midnight we had champaign and another meal.
The wind was strong when we started out, but was much calmer as night fell. But it was super cold. I think it was 15 degrees when we got back into our truck. And if it wasn't for the GPS, we would still be sitting in the parking lot.
Funny how everything looks different at night.
Michael kept talking to the woman on the GPS, and he didn't have anything to drink but a little champaign at 12. I was so glad "She" was telling him where to go and not me. I was to tired, and it had been a long day.
Well, I have written a book here, so I must close for now. Everyone have a good week end...... Hopefully rest

I know it is hard to behave in the eating department. It is so hard this time if year. I fell off the wagon for sure! Dear hubbie and I are going to do better. I think it helps a lot to have two people do it together. One to help the other because we all have our bad, grumpy days when all we want is junk! Junk is so easy and finding tasty, healthy foods can be so inconvenient!
I just have to tell you all about our Wii system we got from family for Christmas. This game system is the best thing since sliced bread! Unfortunately the Wii and Wii Fit together are close to $400, but it is well worth it if you can fit it in your budget. I had no idea it was such a motivator to get off the couch and play and get some physical fitness in too!
Our relatives who are dedicated Wiiers are seniors. They also have a bunch of friends using the system to get in shape. Our kids love it too (of course it is a video game at heart) and we all do it as a family. I enjoy the yoga and balance games. I can just see you and Michael playing Mary Lou: boxing, baseball? It is really fun. And I can tell you all, I never work out my abs and hips more than when playing the hula hoop game. It is a riot. The Wii Fit can also track your weight and weight loss goals, BMI and your balance. It is really good for balance, posture and metabolism. Sorry to sound like such a commercial, but I know how hard it is to motivate expecially this time of year. Doing all this at home with the family has been wonderful. You can also make a "mii" (pronounced 'me') for everyone. It is a little custom character. When you play the games, all the little miis are participating with you or cheering you on. It cracks me up to see my dad or nephew on the game, even though they live 4 hours away.
OK on to the Rose Parade which was awesome! Too many people for my taste....How do people live in LA???? Everything went really well and the parade was a fabulous experience.
-
Oh Marg I have been telling Michael I want one .....Maybe someday
His mom and dad got one for Christmas.
I think the worst of the eating is past us till at least Easter . The snacks have been replaced with yogurt and popcorn. I went to the store last night, and the price of everything is so high it just makes me sick.
BTW Marg , the pictures are great! What fun, I never mind people but Michael does. I love when there is a lot going on, as long as it's fun.
-
Oh you guys, we got a Wii and Wii Fit for Christmas, too. I freakin LOVE it. I worked up a sweat playing it and wanted MORE!!!!!!
Pics are awesome! I'm going to post some soon.
BTW, we saw Wicked yesterday. Awesome AWESOME show!!!!

Happy New Year sisters!!!
Margerie - I bet the rose parade was fun. It always looks so beautiful on TV. I'm with you though, way too much people for my taste.
Geese...we have a Wii and I haven't really gotten into it. But the I've heard of the Wii fit. I may try that. I start my better eating life style tomorrow with a few of the Pinkstock girls. We will be doing a balanced meal plan of 1,200 calories a day and walking more. That is what I always did before chemo and I never had a weight problem. Now, I need to shed 40 lbs. So wish me luck girls. I am determined to get back to my pre-bc size 10.

I had no email?
-
Margerie,
Just me popping on your thread again. Must say you need to enter those last three photos in your post of the kids in the snow in a photo contest. They are so good and priceless. Thanks for sharing them.
-
Thanks Karin
Snow + Kids = Fun, Fun
Here is our Christmas card photo for those of you who missed it
-
So cute and growing like weeds Marg.
Hope everyone is having a great day, even if it's almost over. It was cold here and very gray outside. I could sleep forever on a day like this.
-
Margerie,
Seriously, you should enter in something like this http://www.priceless.com/us/personal/en/picks/20/intro.html There are tons of contest out there but your photos are priceless so I thought of this one first.
-
I agree Marg.....
-
Thanks for the encouragement ladies. I have a great photo of our first born drooling, you have to see it. I will have to scan it someday.
I entered this photo I took today in one of the contests.
-
Mary Lou - I hope you are having a grand day!
Wishing you many, many more!
Love and hugs,
-
Margerie - I agree, those pics are priceless. I hope you win. What's the price?
-
Marg, that is a great photo. Who is the photo of?
-
Thanks ODY
I had a wonderful day. My support group had a party for me, and I got roses from Michael. Many voice mails singing happy birthday.
-
Oh, happy belated birthday, Mary Lou!
-
That is dear hubbie and dear 5 year old daughter
Happy belated B-Day Mary Lou!!
-
ML, happy birthday, dear sister!!!!!! I suck at remembering and catching birthdays on time. I'm glad you've had a wonderful day!!!!!!
Back to the Wii Fit: LOVE LOVE LOVE it. LOVE it. Did I mention that I LOVE it???!!
Marg-I did the hula hoop one and my Mii fell to the floor panting for breath. LOVE IT!!!! I am totally accountable to it and that is EXACTLY what I need! It weighs and does the BMI for you! My Mii is puffy and chubby, which is appalling, but I am going to love watching it slim down!
YAY Wii!!!
-
PS-Marg-I love that pic of DH and DD. Very cool. I suck at pics and make Greg take them (a photographer at heart)
-
Thanks for the wishes sisters.
-
How is everyone holding up with this weather?
-
I am like you O, cruising in the warm weather. Think about you cold weather gals!! Keep safe.
They did a feature story about me in our local paper and it made the front page!
pm me if you would like the link
-
Great article, Margerie!
-
Hi girls,
Marg you have a pm ....LOL
It is cold here in Virginia. It was 2 last night and the wind chill was below zero. I don't mind the cold at all, but hate that we can't get outside and play with the babies.
Hayden is crawling.... She seems to be growing so fast and she is a busy bee. Michael and I are going to watch the kids while the "KIDS" go to a meeting. Then next week I will watch them for Jessie to return to work.
She wants to try it out before she gets a sitter. I can fill in, but don't think I can handle it full time. I'm just not that strong anymore.
-
Marg you look great! Loved the read.....
