Thanks for the birthday wishes, going to dinner to celebrate.

My dd made me take her shopping at Wal-Mart for me. She wanted to get me a necklace, so I picked out a few and handed her my credit card. You should of seen her trying to choose and then the lady helping swipe the card and making her sign her name. Oh, she was so happy to get me a present. Last night, she was coloring the box since she said she doesn't know how to use wrapping paper! LOL

KELLY - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Celebrate big!!! Great News on your results! What a great BD present!

Debbie - you look awesome! Yes, snow! OMG and this morning I had to scrape ice off the windshield!!! I would love to come visit those of you who are having nice warm spring weather! No, Dave won't be coming with me in August. He wanted to save his money for our Canada trip. He really doesn't quite "get" our sisterhood here - he is not a computer guy, so he thinks that having internet friends is kinda strange....

Graycie - glad your face is better, I get red and flushed when I drink some types of wine. Maybe you should stop drinking so much wine... LOL!!!

Hey! My Mom and I are taking a weekend trip to Vegas May 18-20. Anyone want to come join us? Wouldn't we have fun!!! I have a friend who just got back, she said it was 85 degrees!!!!

Happy Passover - Amy, Linda, Deb.... Did I miss anyone?

Our Kiwanis club sponsors an Easter Egg hunt for all the kids in the community on Easter Sunday. It is a lot of work, and it seems like the whole thing is over in about 30 seconds! The kids snatch up all the eggs (plastic - some with tickets for special prizes) so fast! It is always fun and the community loves it.....

OK, I've had my morning coffee with my Rocktober Sisters... Now - Off to work with me!

    Well...

I booked another trip to MX! We had so much fun there, and with the news of EE, I told Roy - life is too frickin' short sometimes and "we can't take it with us" so we are going back the end of April! The prices went down because late April is considered off season, so we got a really good deal! If any of you want to meet us there, just let me know.

    Tracy -
That's great! I hope you win the jackpot! You so deserve to!

    HAVE A GREAT DAY GIRLS!

Okay..now I just caught up, you little chatterboxes!
KELLY..THAT IS THE BEST NEWS EVER!! Right on, B9 Hooker!!! YES! Now we are all dancing with NED. May we all be on his dance card!

Gail...hmmmmmmmmm...so you didn't figure out your red face thing but it's gone?

Paula..it's good about the thyroid..I think it's the hormones playing tricks on the weight.

Debbie..you look absolutely TERRIFIC! What a beautiful woman you are. I love the glasses. I tried on plastic frames when I bought mine and I couldn't find a pair that I liked. I ended up with wire rims..two colored ones. So, how was the dentist? Were you brave?

V... so...are you moved in now? You will adjust. YOu will make your new house a home. My mom used to always tell me this...it's not the walls but the people inside them. Plus, with your things in the house and the smell of your cooking, it will feel like your home sooner than you realize.

Tracy Seattle..that's great about your trip with Dave. How fun!

Amy... I find your Passover thoughts about your dh and you and the Egyptian connection interesting. You two could do a great skit at a seder!

Tracy NY..you are really sewing up a storm. I continue to think that that will be my next big thing. But, first, I need to plan a workshop. I've been hired to give an art workshop at my girlfriend's store this summer for kids. gotta work that out.

    Mary-Anne..good luck with the ps!

Brenda..yes..we are talking about bra hooking..what were YOU talking about?????

Well, Ladies..our Passover seder is over. All the hard work that we put into it was worth it. In fact, we did such a great job, they want to have the seder every year at our house from now on! WHAT HAVE I DONE???? I will put pics on my computer and then post them here. I am so proud of my lovely, lovely daughter. Without her, I would never have been able to do it all (I feel like I'm writing a speech for getting an Emmy!). She cooked with me all day yesterday, ran out twice when we needed things, and we worked til the moment the guests arrived. We had lots of fun together, too, and laughed tons. She is definitely my best friend! We have a ton of food left over but that's good. No cooking this week!!!!

I'm exhausted though. Got to be at 3:30 am and didn't get out of bed til noon! Then we had some friends and cousins over in the afternoon and now it's time to go to bed again!

Now that this project is over (it's still the holiday but no more work involved)I can begin some other projects that I had put aside. I just need to get more sleep first!

First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELLY!!!!! Hope you have had a wonderful day!!
Trying to catch up here - I have been so busy with the kids and Spring break! The weather has been so nice but it started storming an hour ago and it's supposed to get cold! Took everyone to the zoo (shame on me-Tylenol works wonders) it was fun but there were 3 moms and 9 kids!! (my neighbor has 5 kids all under the age of 7!!) Crazy!!
I need those 15 minutes of "me" time Deb was talking about the other day!!
V - ugh! Wish we could all be there to help!
Debbie - you are so cute!
Laura - you go girl! How fun is that!!
Everyone else - have a great evening!!
    Lots of love

Looks like catching up is the name of the game. I’ll never catch up and that’s o.k.

Kelly, I’m wishing you a very Happy Birthday. You have much to celebrate. So happy for your good news.

    V. Doing a dance here for you too. Love those estrogen numbers. You ask if I’m home and how the weather is. I’ve been home since last Tuesday and that was the last day I saw the sun. It rained for five days and then yesterday we had 6 inches of snow and today it blew that stuff around. I haven’t been home since this morning so don’t know if it piled it up or not. You have to love North Dakota!!!

Deb–you absolutely amaze me and in some ways you also remind me of how I use to be, The almost all night cook-athons! I really liked hearing about how you and your daughter bonded with the preparations.

I spent most of this morning trying to remember how to post pictures so I could show you RoseMarie and her wonderful family and if I accomplish that in this post I’m going to call this message good, go home and start fresh tomorrow.

    Good Evening My Wonderful Sisters,

Today was a seasonable spring day, had a thunderstorm tonight and now its pouring rain. It will make the grass turn green….

We decided that we are going to colourwash the walls or do some ragging as my husband just cant get some of the imperfections out. We will decide what to do on Saturday when we go to Home Depot to pick up our slate that we have to seal before the installer puts it on the wall.

For those of us that are pet owners, can you believe all the dog food that is being recalled, it makes you wonder what is safe to feed your pets now!

Paula – we are going to my mother in laws on Good Friday for dinner, not sure what is happening with my parents place, no one has mentioned anything yet? It will be exciting to finally get some new girls. I had a lumpectomy but have heard that the expanders can be painful to get use to although reconstruction is no piece of cake either. You mentioned that you are on Zoladex injections, what have your s/e’s been aside from hotflashes? Did you start the Zoladex at the same time as the tamoxifen? I am just trying to judge whether or not my insomnia has been made worse by them as I am only been getting the injections since November and have been on Armidex almost a year. My insomnia was bad before but seemed to get worse once I started the injections. Do you have the same problem. Although in the past week or so I feel more rested although my nightsweats and flashes were horrible last night and woke up three times, have been able to fall back to sleep and have been lately. Maybe my body is getting use to the shots now? Any thoughts?

Laura – enjoy your Easter, you will get a break from cooking. Your 2nd Mexico trip sounds fabulous, have you unpacked from your last one? We love the Caribbean, this fall we plan on going to Jamaica again, our fav. My husband seems to have changed his attitude when it comes to money now too, not foolish but hey you only go this way once and you cant take it with you! I love periogies too, although never make them…

Rosemarie – I love the pictures that Cathy posted of your family, your hubby is a cutey and the kids are adorable, they look like you!

Tracyseattle – We had frost on the car this morning. April can be so unpredictable here, they are actually forecasting snow flurries for Thursday, Friday and a few days next week. Spring isn’t here to stay just ye. Jasper and Banff are suppose to be amazingly beautiful. My parents have been but we have not headed West at all. We have traveled to the East Coast but have still to explore the rest of Canada. Would love to go to the Calgary stampede one day.

Debbie444 – love the shoes, they are so fancy. I am 5’9 ½” so I don’t do heels at all. You look so chic in your glasses and wearing a sleeveless top, weather is a lot warmer than here. OMG a fire, thankfully Roger caught it, I shutter to think what would have happened if he didn’t.

Amy - hey, give us some of your weather. You don’t actually get really cold weather in Virgina do you? What do you grill on the bbq? I love bbq chicken.

Tadah – you are so funny, we will come bail you out if you get charged with arson.LOL. Hopefully he shows up one of these fine days with your furniture. He must do go work or you wouldn’t put up with his tardness! Senekot works great for constipation.hee heeJ

Mary – nice to see you come by to check on us when you aren’t feeling the best emotionally. Big hugs my sister.

Kelly – I am so happy that you celebrated your birthday with such great news…whew…
Teryn thought she was a big girl getting you’re a birthday present, awe kids are so cute at that age!

Victoria – moving will be a lot of work and the preparation for getting our house ready but the payoff is gonna be huge. Our current home is our first home and 50 years old so eventually things start to break down and cost money to replace. We have already in the past few years replaced the roof, septic, now kitchen, upgraded our carpet in our master bedroom, new laminate in upstairs hallway, newer laminate in whole downstairs so lots of work already done. We are so looking forward to having a newer home with less maintenance especially the lot size. Happy to hear that you are making plans for a trip away – Hawaii sounds great although haven’t been. Are you thinking the big island or Maui?

Deb – glad to hear that everything went off without a hitch, all the hard work paid off, now you can relaxxxx….

Gracyie – glad to hear that your face has cleared up. Enjoy your Easter at your sister’s.

Cathy – you did a fabulous job at posting the photos. Enjoy your evening.

Have a great night, gotta run and spend some time with hubby.

    Love
    Michele

Happy Birthday Kelly. Glad you got the card on time.......

How CUTE of Teryn to go shopping for a gift for you.

Tracy, I don't even want to hear the word snow........lol. They are calling for it here too. I also get a red face when I drink wine but unfortunately I haven't had any lately.....lol

Happy Passover to Amy, Deb and Linda. Deb, Can't wait to see the picture's.

Laura, You are so lucky to be going back to Mexico. My dh said we can go next year so I am saving my money. My girlfriend's parents loved Mexico so much that they ended up moving there.

Ravdeb, I have no idea what caused my face problem. The only thing I did different was use that wrinkle serum and the pharmacist told me that some of them are made to shed the top layer of skin which may explain the rough feel to my cheeks. It is still pink but it doesn't hurt like it did before. Funny, everything was red but the wrinkles. I must have hit the wrong spot......lol Now I have a new problem. I lost the crown off my back molar.

V, Sound's like you are good at multi-tasking.

Cathy, Thanks for sharing the pictures. AWWWW, everyone looks so nice. Rosemarie, your kid's are so cute and you have a cute husband too.

Michelle - wear the heels - I am 5'10 and i wear them! I have some i can hardly walk in ( they looked nice on the shelf) I guess it helps with Roger being tall.
We are looking forward to coming over as we are struggling to buy Roger clothes at the moment - i think he is still growing! He objected when i told him he must have gorilla arms but its true! My cousin who is 7'2 manages no problem over there so will have to have a serious shop for him.
They were adorable pics Mary - Rosemarie always looks so cheerful.
Dentist - i was very brave - and my new dentist says there is no need to have anything done - woohoo. I paid my £15 and shot out of there like i was on fire!
V - glad a spice rack is your onbly new house problem - we told you it would all be ok!
Hope Mary is OK - a rough time

OK - Drs visit in 40 mins and kids still in bed - aaargghhh!

    Hey Roctober Hookers! Good Morning!

V..you may not want sex, but you are still a hooker! Spice rack..I do know what you mean. When I want something in particular, I will leave a mess til I get the exact thing that will be right! That's the artist in you, my dear! Pm me your new e-mail if it's new.

Debbie..Congrats on your dentist appointment! Now you can cheer up Gail who lost a crown.

Yuck, Gail! When a tooth event happens to me...I get so frustrated!!!! I still haven't made the appt. with the oral surgeon to have the two back teeth pulled. I am NOT in the mood!

I love, the pics you posted, Cathy! RoseMarie..you are just lovely and you have a terrific looking family.

Mary...I think of you every morning as I sit down at the computer with my coffee. I miss you and hope you are healing.

Paula..I don't know if I'm a good hostess but I'm a perfectionist which is why I get so tense! I have to live up to my own expectations!!!! I am not a perfectionist with everything, but when I have guests, I go into perfectionist mode for some reason. I take after my mom, I guess, in that department.

yes..my daughter will follow in my footsteps. She is almost a copy of me...a better make, tho! She's smarter than I am! But, my kids really appreciated the work we put in and my soldier son told me in the morning that it was beautiful and looked good. I spoke to a cousin in the States yesterday and she told me that I must be feeling emotionally in a good place knowing that I could pull it all off after bc. And...she is right. But I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooo tired. I hope I can shake this exhaustion!

Michele...OMgosh you are busy with that house! You amaze me with each of your stories! It's gonna be one heck of a house to put on the market, that's for sure! I'm so impressed with what you and your dh are doing. You guys should go into business renovating houses!

Gail..it must be that wrinkle stuff you put on. If it's a peeler, that will make your face red. Too bad you missed the wrinkles but Gail, Gail, Gail..wrinkles are a sign of life, of maturity, of living!!!! I know..I don't really have wrinkles on my face but the rest of my body is sagging and I wish I had younger body. Of course, I can cover up the sags with clothes..a face is hard to cover up!!
    Cathy..try to stay warm!
We have warm weather. It's trying to become summer.
Linda..hope you had nice seders and are relaxing with family during hol hamoed.

Debbie..hope you got the kids to the doctor!
    Is it still warm there?

We made it to the DR with time to spare! I now have some tablets to stop me stiffening up on the Arimidex .
I have been thinking - being as you are so good Deb , we should ALL come to you for Passover next year!! That would tae a strong coffee to recover from!

Must admit i dont know the Tv programme you are talking about. we do watch a lot of US tv now we have satellite - that favourites at the moment are reruns of The 70s Show, Bones, Life on Mars ( which is actually British) and Blue Murder. Dr Who has started again so i get an hour to myself on a Saturday as Rog and the kids are glued. Went shopping last week at that time - the supermarket was like a ghost town. Personally it scares me rigid!!
Lovely weather - the first in the round of sleepovers have arrived so they have all gone down to th evillage green.
    take Care

Quick Hello to everyone. Glad to "hear" from you all and know you are doing well.

Kelly: I missed your actual birthday but I think my wishes for your continuing happiness and good health will not be any less sincere today!

Michele: You are correct . . . I am feeling blue. Tonight will be our first youth group meeting after the funeral and there are plans to help the girls make "memory squares" for a quilt we want to make for the family. The girls will write a memory on a square of fabric with permanent markers and sign their names. They will all be joined in a quilt top and then all the girls and leaders will join to tie the quilt. Today is also her birthday and I'm thinking of my friend, the mother, and what she must be feeling.

I'm also down because I have slacked off from exercise and feel like a slug. I am resolving to get back on track today . . . even if I only walk the halls of the hospital for a short period at lunch. At least I'll be moving and not sitting on my behind. That should help.

Hope you all have a great day!!

When it rain's it pours, and it is pouring here. I just got back from the dentist and it doesn't look good. Doe's anything go right for me? Apparently the root is fractured so I have to have it removed and my cheapest option is over $2,000 to have a bridge. To have an implant it will be more. That's not even including the oral surgeon to remove the root. Now I don't know what to do..........That's a lot of money to dole out for one tooth. Unfortunately we have no dental insurance. Besides the fact I spent so much money on this tooth years ago to have a root canal and the crown made. I have to say I was lucky it lasted this long, I guess.

Mary that is so nice of everyone to make a square with a favorite saying for a quilt for Natalie's family. They will really cherish the love that went into it forever. I can't think of a nicer idea.

Well, off to work.....Just had to vent. I hope you girls aren't sick of listening to me complain.

Gail - my worst nightmare! Cant you just have it removed once and for all??
Or go on holiday and have it done as a health tourist under your travel insurance???

Debbie..I'd LOVE to have all the Rocktober Girls here! Don't get me wrong..I actually love entertaining..this was just something different that I'd never done and needs to be in a special way. When the family is used to one thing, I paniked that they'd hate my way of doing it. But, in fact, they enjoyed it. So, I need more confidence! But, of course, with YOU here, I'll have my supply of helmets on hand! JUST KIDDING! I WISH you'd all come! It would be tons of fun!

Gail..these are your back molars? I need to have both of mine taken out. One has a crown, too. But, my dentist said he doesn't believe I'll need to have implants (which would be what I'd do if I had to go that way). Of course, my teeth aren't in line so that is the reason. But maybe you can get away with nothing else done? My dentist told me that I don't use those back teeth and that's why the chemo basically destroyed what I had left...dry mouth, lack of saliva and thus bacteria from low wbc. I feel so bad for you. I need to have this done and I sooooooooooooooooo don't want to go through it AT ALL! I'm going to see if they can knock me out for it with gas.

Mary, I love the quilt idea. That's a wonderful way for the kids and the adults to begin to remember Natalie for who she was and not how her life ended. Another good healing tool. And, I think that once you get out and exercise again, you'll perk up. I also haven't been walking as I was too busy. I'm so tired today so I napped most of the day and then woke up with a spurt of energy so I got the floors washed. I thought about that as being my exercise because I had meant to go back to the beach today but was just too tired...so tired that I felt sick.....

which made me think so many bad things like... I really pushed myself to do this holiday and often thought in the back of my mind that I always had wanted to do it at my house and now felt that this was my chance..I may be sick again next year...ya never know.
I also had this feeling that after all this, something bad was going to happen to me. Maybe nothing bad will happen. Maybe it's something good that will happen. Something is going to happen, though!

I got good and drunk at the church seder once!! Nice table, looks like you had a houseful Dev. I need to have a gathering soon, I haven't christened my dining table yet.

I went to the PS who is going to submit the paperwork to take another whack at my "dog ears". He suctioned them out before but I don't care for the look. There's still some skin there I can do without. And the plus is that he will take my skin and make me some new nipples so that I won't need the occasional restylane injection.

The weather here is awful today. Then I spilled a coffee on my suede shoes, it wasn't good. But hey, tomorrow is Friday (technically), no work on Good Friday or Easter Monday!! I need the days off badly too!

    Hi,

finally checked out my options for reconstruction.

I loved the PS. The visit started with a 1 hour power point presentation which went over many things. I have a single mastectomy . I am small breasted , size34A. My risk of a second BC in the next 10 years is not high so I had already decided to keep my "good"( though small) other breast. The PS I consulted is well known for good results and his " favourite "technique is the DIEP.

I went to see him thinking I would chose DIEP or nothing, having researched everything and viewed pictures. But...he feels my best choice is a lat dorsi flap. It is a shorter procedure, the risk of failure is lower(1/40 DIEPS fail) I do not need a tummy tuck(good genes) and the cosmetic result would be very similar.

So, I will talk it over with DH and you guys and decide. His wait is 3-6 months but if I am willing to go on short notice, even faster. It was tempting to throw in implants and have the breasts I wished I had when I was 13 but... I am ised to being small and not sure I want to mess with Foreign bodies for the rest of my life. I only have enough belly fat for small breasts.LOL.

I am exhausted tonight so will back read and catch up soon(except HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELLY). Had to work yesterday, drove 5 hours to the city, shopped for an hour, appt was at 0800X 2 hours, shopped for 2 hours, drove back for 5 hours and well here I sit. So I am off for a relax in th Bath and to bed.

    Night.

P.S. my bone scan is on Tuesday.

    Fists up!
