Thanks Maryanne and Michele, That make's me feel a little better. I have to admit it does look like sunburn to me to. I put some aloe vera lotion on it and it does feel better. I guess I will wait until morning to see how it is. I certainly don't want to make a fool out of myself going to the emergency room if it is a sunburn.....lol
Laura, You are brave. I have to admit I am laughing but poor Roy. He sound's like a good sport though but dog clippers?..lol I used to cut my dh's hair but I used scissor's. I would be afraid to use the clipper's especially since I didn't have much luck with them when I did my hair before chemo but they weren't DOG clippers......lol -
Oh I forgot to mention my daughter is looking to adopt. Infact she has an adoption blog with a video. I think she is still working on it but when she is done I will post it on here. I will tell her about the babie's oversea's but she probably has looked into that. I think she said it would be around $28,000 which was a little over their budget. I can't believe how much they charge when these babie's are in such need of loving families.
-
Laura, thanks for making me laugh!! Your poor hubby. Well at least his hair will grow straight back... we had to wait for ours A LOT longer!!
Graycie, looks like a sunburn to me too. Use aloe vera, or a good (if smelly) russian remedy - sour cream.
well my appointment today went well. No expanders fo me (Hoorrray!!!) - he'll do the implants straight away. I must be an odd one out, i told him - if in doubt, go SMALLER!! Hehe... i would not make a good Pamela Anderson. I want a nice and tidy B cup after having a full C all my life. Nipples 4 months later.
I will have to stay in the hospital until at least my boob drains are out, which is 5-6 days. Yuk... hate hospitals. The back drains can stay in up to 3 weeks later. NOT looking forward to those damn things, but AM looking forward to having new girls.
Whats everyone doing for easter? 4-day weekend, cant wait. I am going to Melbourne to see my folks.
xx
love you girls! -
Awwww...my dear Graycie! It's been a loooooong winter and you haven't had much sun exposure...that's probably what it is. And I always hear that our "sun" is gradually becoming more intense. Love ya!
Best wishes to your daughter (my niece Nicoles look alike)...That's alot of $$$! Yikes...that's a third car payment! I'm sure it's a very emotional situation. I wish the very best for them and I hope they're blessed soon. -
Paula -
Great news...no expanders! I'm SO HAPPY FOR YOU and your new girls! You so deserve closure...we will get you through this next step of your journey!
We are going to my sister's house for Easter. Usually we have it here, but with the mess of our basement renovation, it's best to not have it here. In years past, when we did celebrate here, we always had a massive Easter Egg hunt. Roy and I would fill 100 plastic eggs with coins and candy and Roy hid them in the forest, under leaves and behind trees, in bushes, etc. and the girls searched throughout our forest for them. It was so much fun! Roy and I keep our Polish tradition alive by making home-made Potatoe Pierogis. It's a lot of work, but I make the dough, roll it out, fill and crimp them and then Roy boils them and then fries them in with bacon bits. Melbourne with your parents sounds wonderful. Enjoy the holiday and the 4-day weekend. -
Sometimes I'm a front hooker, and sometimes I'm a back hooker. Just making sure... we're still talking about hooking bras, right?
Laura, your Easter Egg Hunts sound like a lot of fun! You are just a generally fun person, and you put a lot of yourself in the things that you do for others.
Ladies, I will leave the debit and credit cards at home. I have been known to "take risks". This time I'm going just to have fun. Thanks for wishing me luck! -
Thanks Laura!
I didnt realise you are of Polish heritage... wow, so we must like similar foods!! Pirogi... looove them. I wish i could make them. i am hopeless! -
Paula - I am glad things are coming together for you. Finally it feels like you are getting to th eend!!
Oh poor Roy!! But i know what you mean - i think iwould have laughed too. I cut Rogers hair - i wont try Marks though as he has the calf lick at the front and i am frightened of scalping him.
The interview went well - none of the questions i expected but they rang later that night to say i have the job.The parents of the little boy marched into the heads office the day before to hand in a written reference that they had written for me , which was nice, and they walked with me to the interview office to wish me luck. My hours are now 22.5 rather than 10 so the extra money will be nice.
It was Rogers birthday yesterday ( Yes - i know April Fools DaY) He decided he didnt want to do much, so family came and went all day , we had a takeaway , then we went for a walk on some of the footpaths around the village, the weather was so good that we had T shirts on at 8 in the evening. Being as i heard the day before that i had the job, i could afford to but him everything on his wishlist. Hmm - ever tried wrapping a retractable airline?????
OK , nice sunny day ( sorry Gail - cant see anything wrong with your skin as light is reflecting off of the screen - will look later) and the kids are off - i have promised to take them clothes shopping ( this wage rise isnt goiing to go far - I can tell!) so Catherine was up and ready for 8.30 this morning!! Like Rosemarie, i seem to be having everyones kids this holiday - we have 3 sleepovers booked in already!!
Take Care everyone - sorry about spellings , havent time to check!
Debbie -
Gail - that's about what it cost my friend! Sooooooo expensive!!
Lol Debbie! Congrats on the job, btw!
Kiersten woke up with a fever and sore throat, dh woke up and couldn't move (his back), Calgon, take THEM away! Mike actually went to work - he NEEDS to see a doctor but he's rather hard headed!
We're supposed to go to the zoo today with 2 other families...it's going to be beautiful today. I'm thinking about dosing Kiersten up and going anyway - the rest of the week will be rainy and/or cold...is that terrible??
Deb, Laura and anyone else, I need to verify with my friend if the shoes are to go directly to her or to the adoption agency - I'll let you know - I'm going to e-mail her right away so I should know something later today.
Ok, off to drink another cup of coffee and decide what to do here...no real plans for Easter. So weird to not be around family! -
Good Morning!
I woke up to SNOW this morning! For goodness Sake - it is April and the flowers are blooming! What the heck is it doing snowing out??? There were HUGE flakes and they were beautiful except for the fact that I was trying to see to drive!!!!
Gail - Sorry about your face, there is a red rash that you can get that I have read about Rosacha? Not sure I am spelling it right - but MaryAnne can tell us.
Tracy - that furnitire guy doesn't understand that he is messing with a Rocktober Sister. He had better be careful or we will come there and hunt him down!
Ravdeb - You are wearing me out. I really envy you. I don't seem to have any energy for cooking, housework or guests.... Maybe I am just lazy, not sure.
Dave & I are busy planning our vacation. We are going to Alberta in late September - Jasper, Banff and Lake Louise. He is really excited and such a planner... I thought I was bad, but he takes the prize for sure! At least I don't have to do the planning!
Well, off to work with me. Monday's are not my favorite day....
Catch you all later! -
Heres something sparkly and beaded for Laura!
Rosemarie - i bet Kiersten would love it, i would prob do that. However the other families will love you if they all come down with it for Easter.
Had a great time shopping with Cat - she is a bargain hunter extraordinaire - thats my girl! Mark was bored rigid - agreeing to all i picked and just desparate to but some POkemon cards!!
Easter holidays starting well - power has gone to half of the utility room - dont ask how , and i have a dentist visit tomorrow. I havent been since i started chemo and i hate dentists. usually Rog comes with me to stop me shaking but he is working tomorrow. I KNOW they are going to find stuff to do!
Debbie -
That sounds a fantastic holiday Tracey - and i bet delightful Dave is so excited to be going with you. just a thought - DD is coming in August isnt he??
Snow - OMG - here i am this morning before going shopping - without a jacket!! -
tracy!!! snow!!! it's 80 degrees here in virginia!!! you should come visit. i had some cancellations at work today because of kids' spring break, so i get to come home at 4:30. i'm going to sit in my backyard and read a book and listen to music. anyone heard of amy winehouse? she's my new favorite artist i'm going to read my book, listen to music, and drink a glass of wine. my hubby and i just bought a massive grill over the weekend, so now we want to grill everything we find, so we should be doing that tonight too
i can't believe you have snow!!!
debbie....glad the interview went well. i love the pic of you...you are such a classy, shnazzy lady -
Looking pretty hot there Debbie!! You look younger in this snap than in your avatar!
Glad I can inspire some folks to the sewing machine, its quite easy actually. I went to class and told my instructor that I'm tackling the trousers as well as the jacket and now several people in the class have decided to do the same. I traced, cut and basted the sleeves to the jacket yesterday and traced and cut the front panels of the jacket. I'm a little hesitant to trace on my dining table because I don't want to mar the finish.
I really would wring that Lebanese drunkard's neck. He is sickening. If I didn't pay him before, he'd probably not even think about delivering! I know where his shop is, its across the street from where I park my car every day. I will burn it down. Its full of wood and chemicals after all.
Hey Brenda! Where have you been?! Glad to see you back.
Easter weekend I am going to be home eating pork. Yup, pork. Y'all know how I love me some swine and I've been without meat for what seems like forever. I'll probably get constipated too! -
Quote:
anyone heard of amy winehouse? she's my new favorite artist
I thought you were going to say that it was a bar in your neighborhood!! -
well, it is good drinking music, so in one way, my house is the new bar in my neighborhood....i'm just the only patron
-
Why thankyou ladies!! Obviously the new glasses were worth every penny!!
Bars - hmm - does it tell you what its like where i live that our two local pubs are called 'the barley mow' and the 'smithy pond'??
Honestly - its not quite the sticks!! -
Checking in on you all. Sounds like most are doing fine and life is moving along "normally" - whatever normal is. I'm on my way home now and will see about writing more later.
Best wishes to all,
Mary -
Busy, busy, busy...just popping in for a spell...
Debbie -
Holy Moly...YOU LOOK SMASHING! AND I LOVE THE SHOES! Your new glasses are adorable! (Happy belated b-day to Rog.)
Graycie -
How are the cheeks doing? Please let us know!
------------------------
More later - I have to finish a rush project for my client. Oh, and I did something really extravagant today! Will tell later. -
I've been out of it since the mammo and finally got the B9 results!!!! And tomorrow is my birthday, what a great birthday present!!!!
-
wooooo hooo! nothing is better than being a b9 hooker happy early birthday!!!! so happy you got the best present of them all
-
happy offical passover do you realize how funny this holiday is for me and my husband? i'm jewish and he's egyptian what's the whole story of passover? the jews leaving slavery from egypt we always laugh when we realize it
-
More NED for us, I love it. What a relief Kelly.
Nice Avatar, Amy.
I wonder what the extravagance is Laura?
I am going to see a PS on Wednesday. Paula, are you having a TRAM Flap? With implants? What kind? I worry about implants, how long did he say they would last? I am hoping I can have DIEP on the mastectomy side and leave the good one alone...or maybe do nothing.
Mary, you must be feeling sad with the young girls funeral...
Wicked glasses Debbie, I have a dark-rimmed pair too, I'll take a pic.
I can taste the red wine Amy...what book are you reading?
Fists up! -
if you do the diep, i'm your girl, maryanne i love love love my results.
i just finished reading "the memory keeper's daugther" and now i'm reading, "the double bind" by chris bohjalian. he wrote "midwives" and is a fantastic author -
Kelly, Glad to hear your mammogram was B9. Happy Birthday for tomorrow since I have to leave early tomorrow morning and might not get a chance to get on. I hope you get my card on time.
Laura, about my face, it's better today I am almost back to my pale self. It's weird the redness comes and goes', but the soreness is almost gone. If it was a sunburn then where is my tan? lol. I still think it was a burn but maybe a chemical burn from that stuff I put on in. It just didn't feel like a sunburn. Maryanne, could that be possible? Everyone keeps asking me if it had retina A in it. My face was probably sensitive to it but Tracy Rosacea did cross my mind. I have never had any trouble with my skin, not even acne when I was younger. Just freckles. So this really freaked me out.
Debbie, Love the shoe's and of course you look totally awesome in your picture. I need to get new glasses myself. Maybe I will copy you.......lol.they look really nice on you. Tell Rog Happy Belated Birthday.
Amy, Don't rub it in......lol...just kidding, It is still cold here. I'm just jealous, it sounds like you had a nice and relaxing afternoon. I can't wait until the weather get's nice here.
Paula, for Easter we go to my SIL's since she has the the biggest house. -
Mary-Anne, i am doing a bi-lat Lat Flap with replacing a current becker expander on my BC side and a prophy on the other. I am nervous but also very excited!!
My thyroid results cam back normal.. ok, i am not upset they are normal, i am upset that it means i still have to battle with my hormones.
hey is anyone in our group on Lupron/Zoladex shots apart from me? -
Wahay - strappy tops yesterday , wellingtons today - just love England!!
Laura - very mysterious - do tell!
Kelly - i will be late i am afraid - did think of posting it with the March girls but thought that a little early - then posted it to late - have a good day anyway! And fantastic news!!
Paula - hope someone can answer your questions - i dont know anything about that .
True to form Roger found out why power had gone in the utility - just the small matter of a slow burning electrical fire!! Do i ever let you girls down LOL
Gail - hope you are less 'rosy' !
Ok - off to the dentist - Catherine is going to hold my hand
Debbie -
WAKE UP everyone!!
I have been to the dentist and done the weekly shop - and you are all still in bed!! -
Paula,
I just wanted to say that yes I am on Zoladex injections and my tummy seems to have blown up literally. Its like I can put a pin in it and it will pop.LOL.
The weight gain sucks but is definitely hormonal. Once my physio is done next week I;m back at it, although I have been going for walks regularly.
Michele -
Its a good job noones around - they cant hear me singing Happy Birthday ' to Kelly - hope its a good one
Debbie
