Grateful for the beautiful day, and motivating myself to get to zumba and do the primer coat in my dining room.

Now a movie, book and beer   Good nite to all

Thank you RedReading. I completely misunderstood this topic...I blame it on my chemobrain :) I was counting the days since dx which I now understand isn't the purpose of this forum. To my defense I have to say though that in my mind I have been expressing my gratefulness to God ever since I heard that my treatment is working and shrinking the tumor, which was after the second session of A/C.

I will start with day 1 though because I like this idea a lot and I will make an effort to be more openly and consciously grateful!

Sorry for the confusion and thank you RedReading for starting a great topic!

Today I am grateful for a much needed nap in the afternoon...something I usually do not do because I have a hard time falling asleep. After a rougher Carboplatin/Taxol treatment on Monday I was very much in need of some catch up on sleep.

Optimi, glad you're here! Many didn't start at the beginning of the year, I don't think anyone cares about that. It's more about learning to find things to be grateful for throughout the day and away take our focus from the negativity of the BC experience.

Day 5......I'm grateful that it's going to be 77 degrees in central Ohio today. The daffodils, forsythia, & hyacinths have bloomed. The grass is green, trees are budding.

Looking forward to an awesome worship service at church, then out to lunch at Marcy's Diner in the country with great friends.

    Feeling blessed!

I should have said this two days ago, but I'm grateful that my DHs colonoscopy turned out fine.

I am grateful that I took lots of pictures when I was young. I am cleaning out the under-the-stairs-closet, and am having so much fun going through old albums and reliving old memories (although it makes me very nostalgic too).

thanks....it is kind of on there by mistake....I am still trying to learn how to do computer stuff, and now know I should label the pictures I download....because right now I just have to hit on a number and see what shows up! It would be easier if I had any 12 year old in the country living with me (probably any 8 year old)!

I am grateful for the nice, steady rainfall which will green up the grass and freshen everything up.

Ruth, too funny! But true. I like the new pic too! Wonderful news about your DH.

    April 13

Today I am grateful for a visit from my DD and her BF last night. We played cards, laughed and joked. It was a lovely evening. Also grateful my DH let me sleep in this morning because someone drank too much beer while playing cards. Ouch.

Optimi, no problems at all, but I did have to figure it out your way too and I am 154 days since dx. Strange thinking about it that way because it really feels much, much longer. 5 months yesterday. Almost 1/2 a year since my life changed. I am grateful they found it in early stages and looking forward to my dx being NED!

Nel, do they have Zumba for beginners? I've been thinking that I like dancing, so maybe that would be a good exercise for me.

Maddy, you said it exactly right. It is about learning to recognize the good in our lives. And not taking it for granted. AND not wallowing in the bad stuff. (((Maddy)))

Soteria, I want green grass and flowers too. *pout. Lol

red, I go to Zumba too and I am a beginner.  The class seems to welcome all levels and ages and everyone just does their best.

Today I am grateful that we had a great weekend visit with my 26 year old disabled son.  He is the sweetest!  I am greatful as well for the love of a good friend.

    thanks for the reminder, Red!

Day 102: grateful I had a couple day of being on a high with DD being (how quickly it can change). Very grateful that all the work DH put in on taxes was saved (he did some fancy updating of the system, doesn't always think to do backups) and that he just has to finish them and submit them. I usually do the taxes and do them very differently, shall we say.

Day 103: very grateful to get homeowners insurance after the company cancelled us for 2 claims (in 2 years) because of water damage caused by pipes breaking (in separate areas) under the concrete slab. Also, so grateful I have have BCO sisters who let me vent and whine when I need to (on other threads)

April 13- grateful to have the courage to get back on my bike again. It is going for a tune up this week, and I plan to hit the trails next saturday. I have not been on the bike in close to 2 years since it all began. Another peice of normalcy returning.

Red, Zumba is so much fun. When you start, just follow your instructor's feet, don't even worry about the arms until you get the steps down. And like Susannah says, being 'good' doesn't matter, you are just out there moving it. Happy

Jazzy, if you want some exercise buddies for your biking adventures, come over to the fitness forum and check out the 'Lets Post Our Daily Exercise' thread.

I am grateful I walked outside yesterday because it is COLD and WINDY here today!

This is an excellent idea! It resonates completely with me, regarding my present circumstances : I had quite a large lump (5,5 cm), and it turned out that it was a small one all surrounded by a weird fluid... once they drained the fluid, things changed. What a relief! I was very grateful for this, and also for the prospect of a lumpectomy instead of more aggressive alternatives.. .But also, in evaluating all the things that I have in life, and I am truly thankful for, I made a list... So, in no particular order, I will play along, and bring them up! Thank you for this opportunity.

Day #1: I am grateful for having a very good job.

And BTW, this is a great TED Talk about gratefulness

Maddy you're always welcome, there are only 4 burgers left but plenty of sausage and alas all the carrot cake has gone, so my second one for the day I am so grateful for friendships and an afternoon of snort out your nose laughing.

Cheryl, so glad you have friends that you're so comfortable with that "snort out your nose laughing" happens! Perfect way to spend a gorgeous Sunday afternoon

Red - yes you can typically join any zumba group and as others have said - it is fun and as long as you are moving.  I am sometimes going right when everyone else is going left - Ah well and some folks who are relatively new just slow their pace and it is all fine.  And the music is great!

Grateful for a beautiful sunny Monday AM and working from home

    Happy Monday all.

    April 14,

Today I am grateful for the rain we are getting right now. Mainly because it isn't snow. Lol. But it will soak into the gardens and hopefully I will see some flowers poking their heads up soon.

    Nel thanks for the info.

Day 6....,I'm so grateful the rain came this morning. I could barely move yesterday because of stiff, swollen, joints. Once the rain started, the stiffness mostly went away.

Here is a picture from the Kids Against Hunger event I mentioned a couple weeks ago. This is just our morning shift. There were even more volunteers in the afternoon. We ended up making 200,400 meals (each nutrition-packed casserole has 10-12 servings). I am grateful that there are people willing and able to organize events like this!

Aww Susie still saying prayers for you and yours. Ruth, you too dear.

Uds, I'm glad he was able to do that too. Unfortunately, not every high school is that enlightened.
