Ruth, hats off to you!
I am grateful for Skype so I can keep in touch with my daughter who lives 800 miles away.
-
Oh Ann how do you do that? All 5 of my kids live within 20 kms of me an 3 of them are only blocks away. I love lazy summer afternoons where everyone just decides to come over for a swim. The gkids and greats are running around like maniacs while the parent swim with them or sit at the table chatting or relax on the swing. Gosh I have a good life. Thanks for reminding me.
-
grateful for my co worker who gladly holds the fort and allows me time to go to my dance class cause she knows how much I love to dance.
uds how wonderful for your son
-
Day 104: grateful that DH got out of his rotten mood yesterday, completed the taxes, and made a wonderful BBQ dinner. Grateful DD is on spring break and got to sleep in today. Thankful I got to take a pre-employment assessment, even if nothing comes of it, it gives me hope that my prayers are being answered for me to get a full-time job. Best part, the assessment was close to my parents so I'm visiting them now (which included a dinner in the dining hall - easy for me). I also brought a flower pot of tulips to the sales associate I made friends with last year who helped get my parents into this community.
uds - how wonderful that your son's school is so accepting
-
So grateful for my DH who preps all our food in order for me to cook and who also cleans the kitchen after each meal. I won the husband lottery when I married him.
-
Honey, can I borrow your husband?
I am grateful that the sky stayed clear so when I got up in the middle of the night I see the rare Blood Moon.....very, very cool!
-
uds17 - yes absolutely to be thankful for your son and his boyfriend without any of the absolute foolishness that happens in some schools. Grateful for your school district
Grateful this AM to be able to get up and face another day even when feeling down. And mostly grateful for Dunkin Donuts PEEP donuts (honey dip donuts with marshmallow peeps on top and pink frosting) And if I could figure out how to get a picture from my phone to the laptop, I would share!

Grateful for my granddaughter Aly, who turned 4 today. She is a little bundle of energy and so cute.
Not so grateful to wake up to this...
Ruth, I hope u got some pics cuz when I got up at 2 it was so overcast I couldn't even tell where the moon was! O well, hopefully it will be clear for the next one in October. -
Day 7.....I'm grateful that my twin grand nieces, born at 24 weeks, weighing 1.3 & 1.2 lbs are now weighing over 4 lbs and just started taking their mother's breast milk by bottle. God is good!
-
redreading and hbcheryl- thanks for your comments! as an aside, I am super proud of my son- he had the courage to come out when he was 16.
I am grateful for my amazing family around the seder table last night, especially my mom and sisters who prepared everything and wouldn't let me help.
-
Red, no I didn't take any pictures. I just threw on a heavy robe, boots, hat, mittens & went and stood out in the backyard looking at it until I got too cold (which didn't take very long as it was 21 degrees). We have snow in the forecast again for later tonight.....
-
This is what the Blood Moon looked like, when I was up it looked like the second shot:
-
grateful that at 2.30pm PST I put my tax returns in the mail and yes I had to pay but not too much, being self employed and paying estimated taxes is not easy but my math wasn't too off for 2013, I've had all my paperwork ready for the last two months but I kept putting it off for another day, well today was another day and I'm DONE
we watched the moon but too much cloud cover to actually see it turn red but it was nice to be out on the sidewalk visiting with neighbors at 12.30am
-
-
I am grateful that my sons long time girlfriend has great parents that we really like and would be great in laws for him one day.
-
4/15 gratitude- I am grateful for all the new possibilities for my next contract.
And Ruthbru, fabulous photos of the blood moon!
-
Day 105: grateful I got to spend some time with my parents last night and today. Grateful my Dad loves my Mom so much that he puts up with all her dementia silliness and just loves her. Extremely grateful a brother doesn't have POA, he would have her in Memory Care in an instant.

Today I am grateful to all my kids who decided to make this a stress free Easter for me. One is making the turkey at her home and bringing it pre-carved. Another is doing ham and pie. A third is making potatoes. A fourth carrots and salad. The fifth is making baked goods and rolls.
It's going to be sweet, sitting around doing nothing but looking cute!! Lol.
-
I am grateful to have a career that allows me to feel I can make a difference in people's lives.
-
grateful that I got to go to a great concert last night
-
-
Grateful for wonderful friends
I am convinced that a great support team is the best medicine
-
I totally second that, optimi!
-
I am grateful to have my potatoes and onions planted, with a little help from our rescue dog, buttercup. Well, help wouldn't be the appropriate word as she would be digging them up as were covering them up. She was so cute, when she uncovered one, she grabbed it and ran with it. She's about 8 months old now with the mind of a puppy and the body of a clumsy horse.
-
Lol Susie what kind of dog - mostly, I mean?
Uds, what do you do for a living that fulfills you that much?
Ruth, what concert did you see?
Boy you ladies just leave me filled with questions!
-
Day 8....I'm grateful for my husband, Jimmy, who works hard every day. Who stood by me through surgery & treatment. He shopped, cleaned, cooked, and managed my drains. He rubbed my feet, dropped me at the door & picked me up at the door when I was too weak to walk across the church parking lot. He never once complained when the house was dirty or I was too weak to cook. I love that guy!
-
It was the middle school & high school's Spring Jazz Bands concert. When DS was in school, he was always in the Jazz Band (trombone) & their concerts were so GREAT, that even though he is long graduated, I put it on my calendar and go every year. Awesome to watch kids having so much fun with music and with each other!! (Which I credit to their dedicated, enthusiatic band instructors.)
-
I am grateful for my Norwex enviro cloths which makes cleaning a breeze.
-
Day 106: grateful I pushed to go for a walk today, I'm so out of shape. Glad I got 20 minutes done before I got a cramp in an arch and it was too painful so I stopped. Did some stretching too. Need to get some exercise in every day because I have put on too much weight since DX Sept 2012 and I was already trying to lose weight then.
