What does John Oliver know? He doesn't even speak American!

Blue - I am on my THIRD cup of coffee and am still about ready to collapse. Maybe I need espresso.

Enjoying all the pictures as usual. I have pretty much stayed here lately as the un-substantiated whining gets so repetitively boring. As well, I have some dificulties rounding up facts now and I know I will get them here. I enjoyed hearing the conversation...sooo appropo right now with Breibart feeling the need to go against the very long standing policy about ANY first family White House children. Just saw this in Add. Info this morning. I'd put it here but I don't want all the funny marks etc. that wil come along.
Also, Blue along with the other pictures....the one with the little girl. Anyone not getting that message has a total heart of stone. I feel like in the next few years as ( sadly actually ) the Republican party helps disintegrate itself ( giant pushes from the Tea Partiers, of course ) there are going to be many, many changes. Really going to challenge the whining conservatives. They would make excellent fault-finders if they could back it up with cold hard facts.

I'm foggy today too E! Maybe some horsey pics will wake you up. I posted a few last week!
-
I know Jackie, breaks my heart! Just give birth to them, then they're on their own. Don't feed them and make sure everyone has an assault weapon!
-
And be especially sure everybody in the schools has an assault weapon! Guns, the new elementary school method of discipline.

-
Here's a pic I couldn't resist sharing. It's the critically endangered Mexican salamander.

-
-
You can't take him seriously. He works for the gun manufacturers!
-
And this little piggy went surfing.

Blue - thanks for the pics and that fabulous lettere from FB.
Expect the gorgeous pics of the animal fetuses would get a "reaction" - didn't bother to look, but just kinda felt it would. Still LOVED looking at them, and knowing that Nature usually handles severe abnormalities by not allowing the fetus to be born.
I still remember the day, so many years ago, when Gloria Steinum said:" If men could get pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament." Wish the world was as concerned about living children, and not calling someone "lazy" because they were fired and can't find work, and want to feed their hungry children. What kind of a society would allow a child to be hungry?
Enjoyful - I hope Rufus takes a l-o-n-g holiday some place where you aren't. BYE Rufus...

Love those new (old) words, E. Next time someone gives me a hard time in a store, I'm going to gorgonize them, for sure!
The owls reminded me of something that happened last week. I was in the den (with a cat on my lap, natch!) when we both heard a loud "thump". We raced to the dining room where we suspected a bird had flown into the window. We saw a large owl alight in a tree about 10 yards from the house. Then, he swooped down and then rapidly flew away with a bird in his (or maybe her) mouth -- am sure I detected some blue tail feathers.
Now this all happened in under 10 seconds! That thump was obviously the owl's "call of the wild"..... -
E - you've got to stop drinking decaffeinated coffee!!! I'm going to get myself a bit of tea, now.
Thanks for all the pictures this morning - what a great way to start my day. (I overslept).
On other notes, we think we're going to sell our car. Kinda hate to do it, but this getting rid of stuff so we can take off appears to be spreading....
-
E - loved the words. In the morning when I brush out my granddaughter's impossibly thick, impossible tangled hair I ask her if she ever sees the knot fairies that must visit her at night. Now I can tell her that her hair is elflocked. She loves language so I think I'll send her the link to the list. I also hope Rufus takes a hike!
Great pics in the thread. What a close-up of the salamander!

Since the inception of this nation, other than war, I wonder how many people have been a victim of a gun crime? Murdered or injured?? On the other hand, how many times have Americans had to take up arms against their own government to protect their freedoms?
Seems to me, the 2nd Ammendement is really about one's right to commit criminal gun violence. S-T-U-P-I-D.
Loved the the letter to Mrs. Dribble Blue!!

Someone once said, "My theory is never climb over the fence to the other friendship forum. You may get a splinter up your you know what, and if you do make it over, there are big attack dogs who have lived there forever. Take it from me because I've been mauled by them."
If the conversation here bothers you I suggest you take your own advice. Please don't consider this "mauling." It's simply a suggestion that if this forum upsets you it might be better for your mental health to avoid it.
Edited to add: Happy Passover! Further edit to clarify something I thought better of.
-
Happy Passover. Geez now I have my Sherlock hat on. I hate when that happens!
-
Yes, Happy Pesach to all who celebrate.
-
Sheesh.

I will say it more clearly this time. Posting a graphic accusing our African American POTUS as Lazy is a racial slur. It is a long used racial stereotype. It's a word that triggers many things in this community. If that is something one is unaware of, fine. Instead of denying it, research it, own it and correct the behavior - delete the post, apologize, whatever. The continual denials then become acceptance - that is racist.

Yorkie - The treatment I have is called Cacau - Brazillian Keratin treatment. Is that what you have? It's the BEST thing I have ever done for myself - gave me my life back. Costs a fortune ($200) but lasts 6 months each time. I absolutely hated looking in the mirror and seeing a curly stranger.

This always makes me laugh ...

Wishing a good day to all!

Happy Birthday to Leonard Nimoy ... aka Mr. Spock

We need more Mr. Spock logic and a lot less Ferengi in this country.
-
Thank you ((((Blue))))
Sunny, you really thought that? I am clearly very naive (although I do know rainbowponies when I inspect them right before putting them on ignore). I was just posting on the wonders of nature - I'd do it again. Didn't know other people had such angry minds that they would find a way to twist and politicize it. However, never let others drive your agenda, and be concerned only for the opinions of those you respect and admire. If I see another gorgeous ultrasound, I will post it. People are fully responsible for their own petty minds.
--Athena the Tin Man/Lioness - I can hardly move after the weight training I did yesterday. Clearly overdid it with the left shoulder, the nape of the neck and - I don't know how my diaphragm got so sore. Too much lifting.
-
Athena, I LOVED the ultrasound pictures! I also love to see ultrasounds of human babies! We're all God's creatures, but humans have the gift of reproductive choice in our lives. Animals, not so much.
