Kam, I saw tht same NBC news segment about kids sleeping thru smoke alarm, really frightening.
Linda - so relieved for you your daughter is ok. what a frightening experience - and when it's so COLD.
GG - happy dance happy BDay - mine is on Thursday - looking forward to finally being well enough to go to one of my art classes, which I've been missing, so many with "impaired" immune systems like mine, I won't go NEAR anyone until this fluey thing is gone. Still really bad cough, but told that's natural for this thing - lasts about 3 weeks after flu symptoms are gone. This years flu vaccine was basically not effective in about 90% of those over 65, which was me almost 3 years ago.
Speaking of age, YEAH, Medicare - just got my year end summary, that and my BCBS covered all medical. So grateful to be part of the 47%
I don't go to other threads, so can't imagine what some of you are talking about - but reminds me how much I LOVED seeing the President of the United States in the middle east. And how warmly he was received, and grateful Israel & Turkey are talking to each other again. Also loving my current issue of Vogue magazine.Sad news, Garden Design magazine has folded, with the last April issue. Drat, I really loved getting that one.
Yes, more snow. Also invasion of the Asian LadyBugs.
Alexandria - your description of VT sounds like just what I see outside my windows. SO happy to be retired. HOnestly nothing I miss from anywhere else I've lived, well, a longer growing season, but having the full 4 seasons almost makes up for that...
happy today all - Happy Dance for GG.

GG...Happy Birthday!
Blue...I loved the grey horse. Beautiful. I hope E saw it.
Athena...amazing ultrasound pics.
-
I assumed Jim Carrey was the meal of the day at Fox

Sunny - speaking of POTUS in Israel. Where's the praise? Afterall, we've heard how much he hates Israel these last 4 years. No, better to assign a racial slur.
-
Happy birthday, GG!
I will add myself to the ranks of childhood sound sleepers. I could carry on a conversation and be completely sound asleep as a child and as a teenager. My best sound-sleeping story happened when I was a teenager. The garage across the alley from our house burned down. I had the back bedroom on the ground floor, only a few yards from the fire. There were firetrucks all up and down the alley and street (we lived on a corner). When I got up the next morning, I was shocked to see that garage burnt down. My mom said she kept checking on me all night and I never stirred. She even took my pulse to make sure I wasn't dead.
Ah, to sleep like that again!

So I was wandering around on various news sites online just now and learned that there was a boycott of Fox "news" by some tea party folk. Seems they are annoyed that the network has gone to the left politically. Really. Apparently the boycott changed nothing.

That's sooooo funny Lassie! They don't realize it yet, but the GOP are going to be "has beens". There may be a few old cronies left, but logic dictates that a country will be healthy and strong when ALL its people are healthy and strong. The newer generation will be better versed in modernization, hopefully!

Happy Birthday GG!!!!
Day off for me today - taking Steve for his colonoscopy around lunch time.
Taking advantage of the day off, I am having my hair treated with the keratin stuff (Cacau) again this morning - been 6 months since last time - can't wait!!!
-
Lassie - hee hee...going to the Left is not creating a Benghazi conspiracy out of whole cloth!
Sunny - I heard Obama got off the plane and basically told Bebe - "time to call Turkey and apologize." And he did.
-
Some people cannot help themselves.
-
Happy Birthday gardengumby!!
Glad the weather is cooperating for some of you. We just got about 9 inches of snow. El Crappo! The only good part is that it is melting quickly.
-
-
Blue - totally sick - I agree.
-
Yes totally.
-
You can't install good judgement chips in other people. All you can do is avoid them.
-

Need to remove those visuals from my brain!
-
Well I reported them to the mods. Some women have had miscarriages, I'm sure, and don't need to look at pics like those. Hateful and Hurtful!
-
Thanks, Blue. I posted along those same lines, but by the time I hit "submit," the pictures were gone. As they should be.
-
-
Happy Birthday, GG! I hope you're having a wonderful day that just gets better.
Love all the pics.
I'm so glad I've missed some stuff going on elsewhere. The internet's a big place, much of it not worth looking at.

-
Is that a Yorkie with a "do?" LOL - so cute Yorkie.
-
Too cute!
-
Looks like a Poodle with a really wild do! I'm thinking 50's style. All she needs is some cat eye glasses!

-
This is a horrible revelation.

-
He's getting bigger......he's a bottomless pit!

AND she's in big trouble! LOVES THE MUD!@!##! You should have seen her paws!

Kam - we used to live about 35 miles south of Seattle and slightly east. In my signature I put Seattle for two reasons - one was that I doubted anyone knew the town I lived in other than those who lived there, and the other was that it seemed like a bit TMI for a public site. Now we live about 35 miles and slightly west, and actually live IN Tacoma. Tacoma seems like a big enough place to get lost in the crush - so thought I'd change to reality.
. I grew up in Tacoma, though - wonder if your aunt was one of my Home Ec teachers...
That'd be funny. Thanks for all the good wishes ladies. Snow, Happy Birthday a couple days early!!!
It's been a fairly busy work day, so have missed whatever it was that happened - I can only guess....
-
This is one of the many pictures each day posted on his Twitter account by Chris Hadfield, the Canadian astronaut currently commander of the space ship up in space for six months. Makes some small arguments -- well, small. Sorry I don't know how to make it smaller - it's New York City.

-
Just got back from appointments.
Happy B-day GG!! First commandment: eat something wonderful.
Sun - glad you seem to be on the mend.
On other subjects: there have always been crazy people. There will always be crazy people. The only solution is not to let them make us crazy.
-
lassie, we made your picture smaller, so it fits how many view the boards.

-
Amazing, amazing picture lassie. We need to have a map pictorial one of these days.
As for "other things" - one gathers that some folks are not doing themselves proud. I am no zen peacenik but, really, so much hate and anger isn't good for one's health.
DC had its first "winter" snow - as too often happens, you could hardly tell just hours later.
