Sandy, you are from one of my all time fave cities. I spent the winter of 1982 in Montreal and had a wonderful time.

Rabbit, I do believe that in addition to being retired and being a tech, the nice man also had two trips to the bin. 

Does anyone here have any proof that the retired electronics technician who claims to have studied biochemistry and a lot more on his own is actually wrong with his theories?  I ask that seriously, not with any sarcasm.  I like to keep an open mind. I've searched on the internet for him and he doesn't seem to be a pest like some who've been on here.  His idea is in line with new research into the possibility of starving cancer rather than poisoning it.

One of the brightest people I know personally is self taught after dropping out of school and working in menial jobs. His unique and groundbreaking idea only came about because he wasn't trained in the standard way of work that would have closed his mind to the idea. After decades of private study and work he got a government grant to start up a company and should be well known in his industry once his product gets distributed within the year. My eldest son worked with him informally before he got his grant and is now employed by him.  I'm sure many of the early scientific discoveries were made by people who were self taught.  Many of tham were mad too.  Mad geniuses.

Whiterabbit, I hope your ears are safe. I found boxes of chocolate rabbit ears, no bunny body attached, at a local market!! I always worry about my rabbit friends this time of year.

Please guard your ears, and keep them out of the chocolate!

Thanks Momine.  I saw Elimar's post and realised I had skipped over the part about throwing out meds. I should have spotted that. Ouch.  Eminently dangerous with diabetes.  I was hoping someone knowledgeable would challenge him.  His ketone idea could still have merit so I hope the criticism is about his ideas and not his sanity!

otter made a very good point earlier.  It is so very much easier to come up with cures and solutions that sound perfectly logical if you are not constrained by any knowledge of facts ... in this case biology.

I'm quite sure that I also - with my own very limited knowledge of biology - could come up with a lot of stuff that makes sense to me.  But really to 'think outside the box', you do need to know and understand what is 'in the box' first.  I also see no point in bothering to challenge him. 

ETA ... just checked ... ears intact.  And my bunny is a happy bunny ... ummm ... hope you are not thinking what I think maybe you might be thinking upon looking at it closer

One of the best things I learned on the Complimentary Thread, was about the book Anti Cancer, by David Serevan Schreiber ( sp) - that was so helpful for me.

As for Maple Syrup - you mean there's another purpose other than drizzling it over ice cream?  So good to learn all this stuff from you wonderful women...

hi newbies!  Hi blue!  Hi sunshine out my window!

I saw the problem post and all my bells and whistles went off.  The website was registered through a proxy organization--most leg entities don't do that.  If youi google the name, nothing comes up except that entity--one would expect more hits if someone had really started a charity for that purpose--after all its a local news tear jerker.

But I choose to say nothing.  first because of the board where its at (didn't feel comfortable posting) and second because well, I didn't want to deal with the potential cranky people.  Heck I appear to have been deleted from the brocelli cure thread and all I recall saying was that I'd been eatting lots of those veggies for years and yet, here I am.

Whatever.

If anyone does have a desire to donate to something like the American Cancer Society my crazy DH--the one who helped his friend out 2 years running by flying to Europe for chemo support and the one who has been dealing with my mother and her treatment -- has signed up to raise money by participating in a half marathon in June. 

Did I mention he will be running barefoot?

Athens! I love Athens! I haven't been there since 1986, but I spent quite a bit of time there in the mid-80s when my first husband and I lived in South Asia. I still have some very nice jewelry that I got in the Plaka. We had friends who lived near Kolonaki (sp?). I have very fond memories of Greece! Momine, I hope that you are somewhat insulated from the austerity measures.... How difficult it must be to endure treatment and the economic insecurity!

Anne, I saw a funny cartoon on FB. Not sure where, so I can't copy it here but your comment about bunny ears reninded me: Two chocolate bunnies are talking. One has a bite out of his hindquarters. He says, "My butt hurts." The other one has his ears missing and he says, "What?" I am juvenile, too, Momine -- I laughed for a long time. I am snickering now.

Got up early and cooked Steve some eggs and tomato - we're not religious but he insists on meat free Good Fridays. Then I went and found my man with the truck - he actually had 2 trucks there today - lots of pre orders. Got some great fish and came home and decided to wash my car. Now it's time for rest but I did start the washing. Steve watching the Masters on TV and seems to have fallen asleep.

Momine - I would love to come to Greece. I did get to come to Paris last year but that's all we managed as our trip was primarily in the UK. Next trip over there I want to see everything.

Ok, I know it's a holiday today BUT I couldn't resist and vacuumed my car and cleaned the windows - now I'm absolutely done after I hang out the last load of washing. For some reason, I seem to have lots of energy today. I can predict a nap in the afternoon.
