I can't find the BCO page on facebook. What is it listed under??
Mary
-
Mary ... it's Breastcancer.org there too. They are just using their FB page to promote this board ... links to various forums. I really don't have a problem with it. It's no different than somebody using Google to find the board IMO.
Edited to add: Our posts are not really showing up on Facebook. Rather it is a link to be clicked to bring somebody over here. At least that is all I saw.
-
Nope WR, the Canadian Connection has a link that takes you right to that thread. I don't like it but what we put on BCO is their property. It is not something that would chase me away. You guys are so important to me.
-
Ok-found it. I was typing the words separate instead of running them all together.
I honestly don't see how anyone could believe that anything they share on Facebook, or BCO. org, or anywhere else on the web is truly private. My panties are not in a knot over this.

SEVEN HUNDRED AND FIFTY PAGES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
And I have the first post on page 750! Yay!
Mary
-
I do have a problem with them putting anything on FB - we should get to decide where we post - not the mods from this site.
-
My head is shaking so hard after reading some of the postings today that if I am not careful my neck will do a 360....
Bren and HL - LOL from me too. I don't think the voice of reason ever was there, to tell you the truth. Not if it's who I think it is.
Gracie, please take Bren's advice and stay - I so enjoy your posts. I can understand how you felt hurt, but these boards have been too strange to take seriously.
Here are my two "favorites" - both on the same thread. One, inquiring how the mods are addressing the issue of multiple identities given the issue of dynamic ISPs. And then another post on that thread expressing relief at reading something without a personal agenda. Now I'm really confused - is it my paw scratching my head, or is my head scratching my paw? Maybe we need a mirror.
-
Yey - 750!!!
Off to bed. These boards are truly blowing up today. Peddlers ( nice way of putting it) on stage IV now? What next? -
Momine!
So glad you found your way here. We're a weird bunch but we do have fun.
Welcome, welcome!

Thanks Bren and Athena. I'm not checking out....just going to hang on some calm threads. I have to come here....where else would I hear about Susie's covert fish-buying expeditions?

-
I am confused. What's wrong with maple syrup (otter asks, tongue-in-cheek)?
We bootleg real, 100% maple syrup across the state line(s) after visiting relatives in maple syrup-friendly states. It's the only thing Mr. otter will allow (besides butter) on his waffles and pancakes -- none of that fake, sugary, store-bought stuff. Only the real thing.
Maple syrup is good. It's natural, therefore it's good for us. I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere.
I think tomorrow I'm going to make buttermilk-pecan waffles for breakfast, and serve them with lots of maple syrup. I make the waffles from scratch, and I'm certain the recipe even has baking soda in it. A whole teaspoon, IIRC.
I don't care if it cures cancer or not. So, there.

You maple syrup bootlegger! Here I thought I was a bad person, threatening people with cheezy Wisconsinness.
You know, that was my first thought about the baking soda/maple syrup protocol - PANCAKES, BABY! Who knew the IHOP could cure cancer?
-
Hey gracie - that gave me a laugh

I know it sounds weird I follow this guy with a van around, but none of the fish and chip shops here seem to sell fresh seafood anymore. Can't trust the supermarket, so I'm left with my guy in a van.
-
Boy-I guess I missed something in the "Privacy Compromised" thread. Lots of deleted posts.....
My sister-in-law's appointment with the next surgeon isn't until April 27th, because after all, it's "only" DCIS. He will be reviewing her records, in the meantime, and will move her appointment up if necessary. She seems to be OK with that.
I'm stil wondering how one does radiation with existing implants.

I've made otter's pecan waffles by the way and they are delicious!
-
Linda, thanks! That is quite the offer. I do think there is something to be said for nutrition to help keep the cancer in check and generally feel better, but I need some credibility before I go for.
We eat a fair amount of veggie food, because my husband prefers it and in the Greek church we also have a long fast before Easter. In Greece, you can eat shell fish for lent, but not meat, dairy or eggs.
Yesterday, in anticipation of my daughter's arrival from college, I made the lentil and shrimp salad, green peppers stuffed with brown rice and veggies and roasted veggies: sweet potato, onion, garlic and spring zucchini. With a helper, it took a couple of hours, but now there is food for an army for a few days.
-
Otter and Scoot, LMAO on the pancakes. I had to say something about the maple syrup. I know I should just leave it alone, but GAHHHHH! Yeah, like the cancer cells have these tentacles in the back of you throat and that is like how they gobble up that yummy maple syrup direct from your mouth without realizing you laced it with killer baking soda.
-
That maple syrup-baking soda idea is tame compared to what's going around these boards lately....
Now it's ketones, which will anaerobically kill your cancer.
I think I'll do jumping jacks for the cure. Better yet, become a diabetic and go into a diabetic coma - ketones really go crazy then. :-)
And hope the mods find and delete the scammer on stage IV.
otter, I wish I had something witty to say about this. I tried with the paw scratching head - lame attempt. :-)
-
Athena, are you speaking of the "I Love You ..." thread. Went to the web site, and felt very uncomfortable about the whole set up. Several issues for me, the most glaring was that no money would be spent/given to those who need it. These individuals would be directed to programs currently providing help. If this isn't the thread you are speaking of, let my dense chemo infused brain know.
-
Scuttlers - you are correct. On that site notice the pie chart with expenditure by stage???? No one who knows basics about Bc would organize charitable activities like that. I think the post on the stage Iv forum are written in more than one voice and what begins as a maudlin and rather made-for-tv plea for help becomes a few posts down a plea to donate to an existing non. profit. On the actual web site click on the link to volunteer. And you get to the store. And many many more details.....BC scams are not new. Peddling one on the ST IV thread has to be a new low.
-
So agree. Wanted to post something yesterday, was on my way to Houston, so put it off. The whole site is set up to send us your money. No where to apply for help????
-
Solicitation should be strictly and expressly forbidden on any of the cancer stage or treatment forums. It already is but maybe the words "no solicitation" need to be in forum headings.
-
Looks like the original poster removed the original post. Hmmmmm....
-
Glad it's been removed - I felt like it should be reported but didn't want to get into a tussle.
Also glad to hear that IHOP will cure cancer - now it all makes sense

-
Hello everyone!
Welcome to our new posters. It is so good to see new (wonderful) people posting here.
I hope you are all doing well. It is warm and sunny here, and I finally went and removed my winter tires -- it better not snow!
I also believe there was something odd about that post. The boards have been very "hot" lately. As you all know, I lurk, but don't post much.
(((((HUGS))))) to all of you.
-
I feel better now Athena, I thought you might have been french cussing at me
for being so skeptical. It's disheartening that so many folks just believe whats written because it pushes all their sympathy buttons. What the world doesn't need is another family memorial foundation that accomplishes little and drains funds from well established organizations that might actually do good. He would have done us all a favor if he was out there raising funds for Metavivor in his mothers name.
-
Covertanjou:
As a Montreal native I can assure you that removing your snow tires means there will be a blizzard!
-
lol Sandy! Yes, I am expecting something like that! It is the same thing with washing my car: everytime I was it, it rains!
-
People who will not believe anything said by well educated doctors and medical researchers will, however, have no problem taking medical advice from a retired electronics technician ... go figure. Wonder how far the mods will go with letting this one post his 'articles'? Pretty soon he'll have more medical advice columns on here than Dr. Weiss does.
I think we are going to go look at trees today. Weeping willow down by the water is the plan. We will most likely also come home with seed potatoes and tomato plants and flower plants. It is waaaay to early to be planting but this year has been so weird!
