Sheila - Your results attest to the fact that healthy eating and exercise WORK! Maybe that will get me motivated.
Renee - Great news about your dad! I will pray for continued good news.
I have several stressful but exciting weeks ahead. Today is my 26th wedding anniversary, oldest DS graduates from college on May 7 and I start a new job on May 10. Send positive thoughts my way so that I can make good food and exercise choices!
Happy Wednesday everyone!

Carolinachick, sounds like you have a lot to keep your mind occupied right now.
I am feeling really bad about my weight right now. I still have two days until weigh in but my scale shows up 1.5 lbs! I am hardly eating (Well, almost hardly), although I seem to be drinking more water right now. I want to either be stable or lose an ounce or two...
-
Happy Anniversary Carolinachick!! How wonderful!! Have a lovely dinner on me! Oh wait, I'd better not do that, funds are a bit tight these days. But, the thought is there! LOL
Meece ~ I know exactly how you are feeling, the same is for me this week. I'm almost certain there will be a gain for me Friday. POOP!! I'm up 2.6#'s from last Friday's weigh in. SIN ALERT: I did not share this, but I made an ooey, gooey dessert for last weekend, a Blackberry torte thingie in a 9" x 13" pan, so I had it for 3 days. (I did share with DH) OMG, what did I do?!? I'm trying so hard to get back on track & it is not working for me. I need some help ladies!! Meece & I need some.... some.... inspiration?? We need it!! Carolinachick, I'll send some positive vibes to you. Maybe some will boomarang back from SC to MI for me. LOL
-
Congrads! Carolinachick. Had our 26th in March. Sounds like you've got allot of stress coming your way. Remember what happens happens and all you can do is your best. Remember the good stuff and let the rest slide.
Okay girls. Pep talk coming your way! We NEED to loss weight to be at our best health. It's what we want right, to be healthy? So put down that cake, say no to pie, and for goodness sake to do not buy Cheetoos!!!! We can do this. We have to. Be strong!!
-
I have really been good with the Cheetos. Seriously, one a day.
Our company took us out for lunch today. We started with bread and butter (One of each for me), then a Caesar salad (I didn't finish it) then green beans and onions and bacon as a side dish for the most delectable Portobello mushroom "ravioli" topped with sun dried tomatoes (Which I cleaned the whole plate). Then we were given a dark Ghiradhelli chocolate, and dessert was a chocolate scone with berries (and I finished it). I knew better!, but when someone else cooks, and it isn't something you'd normally cook for yourself, it tastes so good! It is raining today and I can't even go ride my bike! I am hopeless!!
-
Meece ~ What a delicious lunch you had!
I need to get back on track. I need to be healthy. I need to do this. I need to do this.
Thank you Pauldingmom for the pep talk. {{hug}}

Shelia - YEA!!!! How awesome to get such a "nice" note from your doctor
Renee - Your Dad must be thrilled to be back home! How exciting after such a roller coaster ride...
-
Meece, Valjean, Pauldingmom...
I too sinned this week...cheese, cheese and more cheese...pizza, nachos (fully loaded) and dare I say...ice cream! The good news is I have continued to walk at least 5 days a week and have increased to a little over 2 miles each day (the new shoes have helped alot). Bad news is I got too much sun on my Saturday walk, broke out in heat rash/sun burn and had a pretty big LE flare up (hince the need for comfort food).
Shelia - you are an inspiration! Must say no to cheese...oh but I do LOVE all things dairy
-
I can't say no to cheese. One of the reasons I'm doing the low carb. diet. Cheese and bacon make everything better. But I must say, once again, I miss my cereal. We will see tomorrow if this diet is still working. Every night my DH asks, "What's for supper?" Every night I say, "Meat and veggies."
I'm getting bored with it all. I need to go check out some new recipes. Haven't gone out to eat in forever and Meece, your meal sounds so yummy.
-
Thanks for the pep talk, Paulding! I needed it!
I had a delicious, fattening dinner last night, but am back to my fruit and yogurt this morning. I need to do better with being consistent with my exercise. It's a beautiful day here in SC, so my doggies and I will be taking a long walk this evening.
Valjean - sending some positive vibes northward to MI for you!
-
ladies we can do this if we really start concentrating.
Not just for looks but for Health.
You Ladies who still have children in the house is more difficult.
When my DDs still living home some days I used to tell them please hide all your goodies or put a note on it saying "its mine don't eat"
Well you all have a wonderful day.
I'm grateful we have each other on the second journey of our life.
(HUUUUGS))

Well FINALLY I am back to 152.6 Yes I know the object is for me to get healthy and actually lose a couple of pounds but after my first weigh in my weight went crazy. I have not done anything different but I am finally seeing a loss. I was up about 5lbs after our first weigh in....it's crazy.... My body is just hanging on to the weight and it is frustrating. Now I may gain next week but once the fluid is gone I should loose a little bit of weight. I am having stage 2 surgery done with some lipo so yes I am cheating
.
-
Headed home from Chicago & so delighted to see the camraderie and cheering for one another.
What fun we had. Now back to ELAB and integrating better choices into REAL life.
We're in this for the long haul girls.
Much love from the road.

Hi ladies hope everyone had a great Thursday. I went and weighed in today I am weighing in a 155 lbs! Slowly but surely going on down... wishing it was faster. It won't if I don't quit cheating some. I had a few bites of cotton candy and 2 mini milk ways my granddaughter got for Easter.
Shame on me, but I was craving that sweet something and I kmew if I didn't give in that little bit I would eat a bucket load. LOL!! Dieting is very hard work, but we can all do it. My usual sweet is an apple a day, but like all of ya'll sometimes I grow tired of fruit and the diet. We just have to trudge a head and keep our eye on the prize... a healthier and happier U!!! There is no deadline for you to reach your goal unless you've set one for yourself. Just keep striving everyday to stay focused and get healthy and lose those pounds ladies!!!
I believe in each and every one of you. You each have beaten BC and losing weight should be a piece of cake for us. So let's get fired up and do this.
Hugs to you all
Renee
-
Renee ~ Wow, you should be very proud of yourself. Congrats on additional loss. I started my weight loss journey to give you support & I wanted/needed to lose some #'s, & you are the one helping me!
Your comment, "You each have beaten bc & losing weight should be a piece of cake for us." brought tears to my eyes. (snif, snif) I am going to draw my strength to get "back in the game" & back on track from those words.
Thank you, thank you for the encouragement, Renee, very much.
{{hugs}}

I agree!! That's a great quote. Still at 162. I have a busy weekend and need to stay focused. I wish our church handed out something other than donuts and cereal bars. I'll just stick to the coffee and refuse nicely.
-
Good Morning
I weigh 159.2
My weight didnt start with the # 15....for years now.
Thank You Thank You Thank You for your support.
-
Congrats!!!!! (Still in bed, not weighing in yet)
-
I'm at 155 this morning. Still haven't lost the weight from Spring Break. My personal goal is 145 by my niece's wedding in mid-July.
-
Yes, Sheila, Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!
As expected, I have gained....... BOO-HOO
Things to do to not eat:
Slap my hand
Close my mouth
Leave the kitchen
Chain the refrigerator door
Throw out all the food - wait, I have a DH living in the same house, can't do that!
Excercise
Drink water
Garden
Read a book
Scrapbook
Hey, this is looking better. STAY BUSY!
Let's have more good news, sisters! I'm full of Congratulations this morning for everybody!
-
Congrats Sheila and Renee!!
I am very happy I weighted in at 211.4 this morning! I am not too active but am really trying to cut down my sugar, eat more whole foods and less processed. since the asparagus started this week we have eaten it everyday, I tried some raw dipping it in balsamic vinegar with a little pressed fresh garlic and olive oil, great dipping sauce , I like it drizzled on avacados too! I did make my DH a wonderful rhubarb upside cake but I have only had 2 small pieces and I am sure he will finish it off while I am at work today!!!
Keep at it Val, Jamieh, Paulding Mom I know too well the alluring attraction of food it is my constant battle.
-
Well I am up a pound, 165 this morning for me!
-
This is my week to cheer on the amazing success of those of you moving in the right direction.
It's great to see progress.
I have yet to integrate my ELAB strategies when I am "on-the-road".
Our hostess in Chicago went over-board on goodies.
Then we drove home in time to help with the twinsie-grands birthday cake, cutting last night.
On a bright note, I just walked the loop at our metro-park which is marked as 4 miles. I was draggin' my slow self around, with the inclines and the gravel in places -- not anything like 4 miles on a treadmill, but I still give myself a gold-star for 'beginning again' and makin' it around.
-
P.S. Meece? How did you get your photo to register as such??
It made me smile.
You are a master techie.

Hi Ladies - it's been a bad week for me, I had a gyn appointment on Tuesday, just routine because of being on Tamoxifen but I got so anxious about it. I comfort ate all Monday and Tuesday - and worked myself into a right tizzy by Tues afternoon. Did fine at the appointment but was still very wound up when I got home (I guess I was just being very sorry for myself and going through an "oh poor me having to have all these dr apts and never knowing what's around the corner" phase). DH decided he was taking me out for dinner and the movies to take my mind off things and help me relax. Dinner was a disaster (almost funny really) just bad quality and overcooked!! So I had ice cream and chocolate at the cinema to make up for it!!!
Now I did do my 10,000 steps every morning and I curbed my eating since Tuesday - yesterday I had an appointment to get a new prosthesis and some bras because I have lost alot of weight since I got my first foob. Well before I left for the city I had another melt down - DH arrived home unexpectedly (he had forgotten some paperwork) to find me, ironically, doing my Wii Fit with tears pouring down my face and I told him I just could not face the thought of another appointment with yet another stranger. On Tuesday I had a stranger literally poking around inside me (gyn internal exam!!) then yesterday to be fitted for a new foob another stranger would be seeing me and all my imperfections and scars. Well in the end he drove me to the appointment and I got my new foob and bras and now I guess I just have to get over myself!!
It hasn't helped that one of the lovely ladies who I got friendly with during treatment had a recurrence in January and now has mets to the lungs and has spent a good few weeks in hospital and just got home yesterday - in a wheelchair and on oxygen. She's one age with me, two kids like my own and well I don't have to say anymore - do I??
Result of all this stress and self pity?? I'm up to 164lbs this week which isn't too bad considering but I guess I will really have to watch that it doesn't catch up with me on the scales next week.
Sorry about the me, me, me posting - I've reached a new high in the self pity stakes!!!
-
Tá brón orm, Ainm. Tóg bog é .
Although I did not have a mastectomy, DH found me many a time in full tears standing in the closet because nothing fit because of the size difference from my lumpectomy and rads. I could be quite unconsolable. You are so good about your Wii Fit, and I have yet to break mine out again after two months! I hate to go bra shopping, and would love to be fitted for one that would accomodate the size difference, but the fitter would be required to keep her eyes shut, and that just doesn't lend itself to propper fitting now does it?
-
Oh, Faith, it's an old trick from the first digital calculators, 4 and 0 are the letters H and O upsidedown. A quick cut and paste and viola!
-
Ainm I'm really very sorry to hear about your friend. I honestly hope she does o.k. I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers. I don't know her age but I can only assume she is youngish. This disease really stinks!!! And believe me we all understand your self pity here. I've been there done that and I'm sure others shave to. Try to stay focused on the positive and not the negative though as hard as it may be. Come here anytime and rant or cry we will listen. {{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}
Good Luck getting back on the weight loss track!!!
Renee

Meece post my weight as 155 this week.
