The fever broke, and I had a milkshake for dinner last night. Not the best idea, but DH was in charge of dinner.
My tummy is still rumbling, but not like the volcano it was on Friday.
-
Meece...Glad you are feeling better than Friday.
Maybe you should make some toasts to absorb the milk from your tummy.
-
That would probably be a wise idea.
-
I have a question. I eat oat meal for breakfast (not every day). It only has 4 gr of protein in each serving which is 4%. What can I add to it that adds more protein?
Thanks
-
I don't know seyla888? I am allowed to have home cooked (not instant) oatmeal on my diet everyday if I want it but only 1/4 cup with like 1/2 cup egg beaters cooked however I want it (scrambled or in an omelet, but I can't put anything in the omelet). I usually add butterbuds to my oatmeal and sweet n low) that's it if I eat it at all.
Meece glad to hear you feel some better.
How are you doing Nicole? Haven't heard from you in a while...
Renee
-
Renee 1/4 cup cooked?????
I try not to eat too many eggs and I use 1 yolk to 3 whites the rest is wasted.
I don't really like dry cereal except Kellogg's with berries.
Maybe I should have a yogurt. But I need to chew on something.
Nicole..Are you bringing your personal trainer to Hawaii/ Where have you been. We missed you.
-
From what I can tell I have not lost anything this week. Bummer.
-
There is always next week Meece.
How are you feeling?
-
Much, much better. Thanks for asking. I look forward to a better week. It should be salads for lunch so I can drop some ounces.
-
Meece - so happy to hear you are feeling better! Ummmmm...gained 3 lbs this week which is really frustrating since I have walked every day this week
Got a little bit of a sun burn and now my LE is flared up... I guess I'll have to starting walking after sun set.
Renee - your dad is in my prayers!
-
O2b, Maybe you are working on muscles, and the weight you gained is muscle weight. Keep protected from the sun, but some get some for the VitD.
-
Meece - weight gain could be from the half a cow I ate at a BBQ with friends this weekend
Yummm , red meat! I haven't had that in a while.
I really enjoyed walking this weekend and actually walked 3 miles!!! It was such a beautiful day that I just did not realize how much sun I was getting until that evening when my chest and arm started swelling up. Now I think I am going to have to walk in the evenings...or crack of day to avoid LE complications (since I am NOT a morning person, looks like night walking for me).
-
Michelle...Red meat might not be good for lot of things, but Atkins Diet is made of out meat, bacon etc. Yes?
I have a piece of steak once in a while. Use number 50 sunblock.
Did you have radiation i forgot. That also made my skin very sensitive.
-
Hope all feel better soon. My children/clients are all going through a stomach bug too. Not pretty.
Renee, send prayers for you daddy and for your family. I add nuts to my oatmeal, pecans are my favorite. Since I'm doing no carbs. oatmeal and cereal are out
I really like cereal. It's what I miss the most. Found some low carb. ice cream at the store and bought some of those fruit bars. I send Edy's an e-mail and purchased the store brand.
Faith and Fifty-personally I didn't see your post as a brag. I pesonally am very interested in what others are doing to exercise. Gives me inspiration.
Walking my butt off....literally. It's always the first place I loss weight and it not where I need to loss weight. My DH already calls me his butt less wonder. I had a beer at the ball game and some chips. They were so good but I couldn't believe how yucky I felt afterwards. Guess my body is not use to the carb shock.
Okay new week...we all need inspiration. May I bless you each with good choices, great health and the time and strength to build our bodies into great shape!
-
Renee - I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. Hugs to you.
Sheila - you could add a little milk or dry milk powder to your oatmeal to boost up the protein.
Meece - So glad you're feeling better. I hope you can take it easy this week.
It's a new week - I'm hoping for new motivation to eat better and exercise!
-
Hi, all! Hope you're doing well today!
Ummm...I weighed myself today (early for this week, but sometimes works to my benefit, LOL!) and I SOMEHOW lost 2 more pounds. How did I do that????? I have no idea (of course the first thing in my mind that popped in was...Oh no...3 lbs in 3 days..could this be liver mets???! Guess I still need to CHILLAX!)
Meece--when you get a chance, can you mark me down for 177?
This is a miracle!
Meece--Hope you're continuing to feel better.
Pauldingmom--stomach bug going around here too. Hope you dont get it! I hope I dont get it! Still too fresh to think about wretching after DIEP surgery!

Something funny happen to me today.
I actually made my DR speechless
. He has been my DR since he came to practice first time on 1987. I see her every 3 months for lipid levels, and once a year he gives me a complete physical.
I was there last week and today I got the results in mail. Yes I told him I lost about 13 pounds and the levels should be excellent.
I opened the envelope all I see is 1 line of writing.
<Excellent results> nothing else like watch your diet, fat intake, walk more, loose weight etc..... Usually i get lectured in a nice way.I thought I should share this with you since a healthy diet made a difference in my life.. Those who are interested the result numbers, tell me I post it.
I just don't want to bore everyone.
I wanted to share it with E-LAB group Friends.
I am very Happy.
Thanks for listening.

Way to go, Seyla. A pat on the back can be much more of an incentive than harping on someone!
-
Well Hot Damn Sheila!!! My doc always has something neg. to say. Perhaps this next visit in May will be different.
I'm so happy for you and for all of us here trying hard to get healthier and live better.
-

-

Carollynn...I know you like gardening just take it easy for a while. Feel better soon.
PauldingMom...You never lost your sense of humor. I remember all the funny things you used to write on the July Chemo.
Meece...I love that expression <Pat on the back>.
-
seyla888 - sorry it took me so long to reply but I can have 1/4 cup of cooked Oatmeal on the diet I'm on. That is what the 1/4 cup was.
Girls my dad is out of the hospital and is at home as of yesterday at 5:00p.m. He is doing much better. He will go back next week for a follow up doc appt and cat scan to make sure the spinal fluid isn't building back up on his brain. He is getting home health Physical therapy 2 x's a week. Thanks for all the prayers... my family is very blessed!!! We have had 2 major miracles in the last 6 months.
Renee
-
Mimi, glad your father is home. And very glad your family has had the miracles!
-
mimi1964, that is good news that your dad is doing better and can come home for recovery and his therapy. It's a lot easier to get rest at home than in a care facility.
-
Renee...What a wonderful news. Family must be doing the Happy Dance.
-
I'm off to bed, but wanted to post some congrats.
Sheila ~ YAY, excellent results indeed!!!
Between you & me, LOL, I'm not doing so well so far this week in eating healthy...
Renee ~ Oh, I'm so happy for your family. That is such wonderful news about your Dad.
{{hugs}}
