Spring 2010 Get Together - GTA and Surrounding Area
Hi, I thought I would start this thread to see if anyone in the GTA and surrounding areas would be interested in planning a get together in the spring when the weather is more predicable -- maybe March or early April. These discussion boards are so wonderful for connecting online and I thought it would be great to meet as a group in person. I know there are already get togethers from time to time and perhaps there is already one being planned on another thread. If that's the case, please let me know (no sense duplicating efforts). If not, we can use this thread to see if there is any interest.
Looking forward to hearing from others in the area.

I'm sitting on the fence.
-
Yes, I'd love to come!
-
Leprechaun -- You have to come! You can have all us women fussing over you!! You are such a wonderful husband.
-
There's nothing worth the fuss, believe me.
I'll try to bring my wife. Otherwise I doubt I'll be there.
-
Leprechaun - that would be wonderful having you both come!
Sherri
-
Yan, get off that fence!!! We want to meet both you and Olga.
Oh yes, count me in -- I'll be delighted to make the long trek up from Niagara
! After meeting PiP this week (what a true delight!) I want to have the pleasure of meeting all my Canadian cyber-buddies! And I think we should also invite our special American buddies too ~~, don'tcha think?
Hugs to all, Linda

Yes, definately...everyone in driving range should come!! Are there any other threads or areas where we could get in touch with those in the US who are closeby? I put a post on the December 2009 Chemo thread because I know there are ladies in the area go there regularly.

I'd like to be there! Count me in.
-
I'd like to join you also! Count me in.

Hello ladies. I'm new to the Canadian threads as I started my bc journey a long ways from here, but I've been in the GTA since July '09. I'm definitely interested in a Canadian connection, and a GTA get-together sounds like a nice idea. Please keep me posted. Thanks. Lois

Hi Lois! Have you been living in Borneo? That would be so interesting! And warm!!!
-
Hi Elizabeth. Yes, I was living in Malaysia, on the Island of Borneo--hot and humid, ALL the time. So I really am enjoying winter, for now.
Lois
-
Hi Lois, welcome back to Canada. Glad to see you're going to join us for a get together in the GTA area!
Sherri
-
Oh Lois -- must have been a wonderful experience. I bet you enjoyment of winter wears off, hmmm, towards the end of February? Welcome home!
-
Thanks for the welcome, Sherri & Elizabeth. My kids as thrilled with the snow, and not so happy now with this 'warmer' weather as our snow is almost gone. For my youngest (7), this was his first remembrance of snow, so he's been fascinated. But you may be right about the end of February. We'll see.
Have a great day, Lois
-
Great
I look forward to hearing more about it. keep it posted

Hi everyone, looks like we definately have interest in getting a group together. In the initial post I had suggested March or early April. Does this timing still work for you? Perhaps later in the March or early April would be best so we can avoid snow. Any ideas on where we want to meet? Perhaps a restaurant?

If it's in Kingston, there are some darned fine restaurants downtown and a whole bunch of not so bad chain type ones nearer to the 401.
-
I will let others decide when and where on this one. But count me in.
-
PIP - I think I read somewhere you are heading to Florida. As a fellow Ontarian who has been in Florida since December, I must warn you . . . BRING WARM CLOTHES!! Not kidding!!
-
Lassie11 - I think there are two get together's....one in GTA area (as per this thread) and another in either Montreal, Ottawa or Kingston (per the discussion on the Canadian Connection thread). Unless I'm mistaken I think that's the case.
-
Ah - now I did not catch that - if there are two and I live half way between everywhere, can I attend both?!
-
Better still! You get to PLAN both!
-
Lasie11 - yes, come to both!!!!
