-
Hey, that's what us Sister's are here for!! To Cheer us all on. Lisa, I tried to vote a 2nd time, it wouldn't let me...so sending power positive thinking your way for a WIN!!!!!
-
I voted for you yesterday, LISA, and again right now. I tried for a third, but no go. Hope you win, sister, even if I am a GIANTS fan. No problem, I won't hold it against you.
Jazzy, I like your hair-stylin'. I think it makes you look like Jamie Lee Curtis, and that's a good thing. Except she has more gray than you do, so your's looks sexier!

Where oh where is Yvonne, lately? She's trying to figure out how to clone herself so she can be in 3 or 4 rooms at a time. She and Gretchen are the popular girls in Ta Ta Land.
-
I also am a GRITS girl - born in North Carolina in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains....
But my family moved to California when I was a little girl...boo hoo...I wanted to be a southern girl!
-
Whippetmom - you are a Southern girl! If you were born in the South that counts in my book! I was born and raised in Atlanta.
Linda54 - Lunch was okay. Hubby was in a bad mood over all the work he need to do but I tired to listen and lift him up. He's home and happier now so we'll have a nice weekend I'm sure. Hoping to find the right time soon to tell him about the Vegas trip - lol! Hope you have a good weekend too!
Happy weekend everyone!
-
Deborah
that is funny that you are a southern girl born but not raised because the other day you posted something and I thought "that sounds like a southern girl talking" wish I could remember the post....
Gretchen, sorry your DH was down....I am sure you can cheer him up this weekend

Gretchen, I think Arizona counts for the Southwestern sisters, although I am a transplant from the Monterey Bay area of CA (grew up a surfer girl from Santa Cruz). I'd rather have salsa & chips at Margaritaville than grits, I think. Just tell your DH that he can have a free weekend while you chat with all your sisters in Vegas. Bet his jaw drops! hehehe He'll be happy that YOU are happy. And he'll have plenty of time to let it grow on him . . .
-
I'll take the salsa & chips + margarita any day over grits!!
-
I'm with you Journey : - )
-
count me in for chips/salsa too! i haven't had a drink since being diagnosed....but get me to vegas and i think i'll drink again LOL!
i went a little psycho after being diagnosed....gave up soda, alcohol, red meat and eating mostly organic. now that i'm done with chemo and about to start rads, i'm adjusting my thinking LOL!
-
I was wondering if any of you are member's of the Dr. Susan Love-Army of Women? I just got sent a survery to fill out,but there are so many responces,I have to try again later. After reading about everyone's deduction's, I know the feeling & that's why I try to get as much done as possible before the year end,but what I wanted to ask is do those of you who are hurting for $,did you know that there are certain organzation's that can help depending on your aera? My hospital gave me a list of a couple for Breast Cancer help, I don't have them now,but would glady get the information again if anyone is interested. I've spent alot of time in our local hospital,in fact I just got out last week, they have a program that assist's in your debt due if you qualify. We've had to do it for the past 3 years & Thank goodness, they have helped, now waiting to see if they can help this year. As I've stated before, I think your all wonderful , full of life, Humor a bit of sassy...your the best treatment & CHEAP TOO!!!! Thanx for letting me share my 2 cent's worth, wait I need to save that for Vegas LOL LOL
-
Lisa, just voted for you. Good luck, I hope you win. You guys are so much fun.....Salsa, chips and Margaritas.....Now that is my kind of meal. I think Vegas is going to be great. I think we should get a group together and go and see the "The Thunder from Down Under" review or something crazy like that....Do you think we would get thrown out????? I have not had that experience since I was in college....Just remeber "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas".
Big Hugs
Gisella

Susie,
I'm also a member of Susan Love's Army. I got the email about the survery last night...tried to do it, but the site was overwhelmed. I got another email today from them that apologized and said we'd hear from them on Monday as to when we can complete the survey!
Hope this helps!
-
I'll be doing Travel Rewards. So Washington/Oregon girls, you go first and let me know which flight you're taking.........DH is telling me that we have a direct from Eugene so it looks like I wouldn't get to meet up with anyone in SanFran.
-
When are you taking this trips?
S.
-
JazzyJem Yes! Alaskaair 79.bucks awesome , too bad most flights have a transfer in Seattle, I am too scared for the Lymphedema to go up and down in the air in the same day. So if you want to fly together any other OR/WA leaving from PDX Here are my plans: I just don't know if I should come home Sun or Mon its a 20.00 difference+whatever the hotel costs are.
AS626 8:00AM 79.00 Fri Sept 25th
AS621 9:15pm 101.00 Sun Sept27
Ladies are we set for the Paris Hotel, I was looking it up on orbits and they say the average weekend cost is 239.00 a day I like the hotel but seems very steep. Who knows maybe the lotto will come through this week and I can take everyone!
And I have a surgery date for my exchange July10th! Still haven't thought of a tattoo design but placement is going to be on my shoulder blade, The only thing this chemo weight is good for is the extra cushion for the needle.
Laura I am the opposite when it comes to tattoos people just assume I have one, but nope I don't even wear earing's. Must be the blue mowhawk hair (when I had it).
Lastly Star Trek is going to be increadible. snort* presses in glasses*
-
Hey Quinn! I haven't talked to Susie yet, but I would rather stay until Monday. If the others don't want to stay Sunday night then maybe you could move into our room for Sunday.
On Paris's website it says the room cost is $190 for Fri and Sat and $79 for Sunday.
I will post my mohawk pic. When I was losing my hair I decided to do a hawk. :-)
Thanks Marilyn for the sweet comment. I got the grey all dyed, got my nails back!! Have my exchange and chemo behind me...I am starting to feel like my old self again!! YAY!! I still have my hyster/ooph in June...but right now I feel GREAT!
Susie and I need to get to know our roomies!! Pipe up girls!! Or are we scarin you??? :-)
I think I have decided to do my tattoo before Vegas...we'll see.
HUGS! JazzyJ

Hey Jazzy, I want to stay the whole trip!! Hello to our roomies-were quite the pair,we'll have a blast in our room with the midnite pillow fights...hee hee.DV8Q- I'm concered about Lymphedema too. I had forgotton about the air travel. I have to go back to Celilo this Friday(The Dalles Cancer Center) Have to discuss getting a sleeve for this trip, then if I'm to be put back on Herceptin-I had major medical side effect's so bad they had to take me off & now trying to figure out what to do,plus had wanted to do more IVIG infusion's, just a couple of items on the plate.Wish me luck Girl's, I really don't want to go thru that again with the Herceptin, but I'll do what I gotta to stick around.
Lisa, The Army of women just sent me a e-mail today, like you said it was overwhelmed with the responces-That's a great feeling. Said it would be sent out on the 10th of this month. Did you happen to buy the pendant? My husband surprised me & purchased 2!! the 2nd one for our daughter. They are very pretty!!
Everyone have a great weekend. It's my hubby's Birthday on Sunday & I'm trying to pull off a couple of surprises for him-he deserve's it!!!. Take care Chow for now XOXO Susie Dx 8/29/2007, DCIS, 6cm+, Stage IV, Grade 3, 0/34 nodes, ER+/PR+, HER2+
-
Lisa- I just voted for you. Best wishes!
-
Thanks for looking the price up, that means I can stay untill Monday! Here is my mowhawk pic, I hope I have at least 2inches by the trip, I am currently still a Q-ball.
-
traceyz,
I stumbled upon all of this craziness.....can newbies do Vegas as well? Don't know all you ladies but would love to be around others who have been through the same cancer crap! I would love some new friends...and love Vegas...any spare rooms???
-
Hello Ladies!!!
Jazzy what an AWESOME find on the air travel WOOOHOOOOO!!! I am trying to have the hotel info by 5/16. At that time I will post the info and it will be up to one roomie to book the room. Usually the charge to hold the room is equal to 1 nights stay. You can PM eachother to discuss the details. But it should be drama free. I hope.
The hotel will be on the strip. I am hoping to block off rooms so we can be close together. I apologize for not posting much lately but I have been SUPER busy! I cant wait to meet everyone in person!! We deserve this and we are gonna have a BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!39boysmom, we are still open for newbies!! Just PM me and let me know!
Love ya ladies!
See ya in Vegas!

BTW Thanks sooooooo much to those of you who have offered to help. I will be in touch with ya by the end of the week.

Well I'm stoked. My DH said by all means I need to plan on going - yea!! I'll need to budget for it and any shortfalls he'll help me with so that part looks pretty good. The only real issue now is that I will not know for another 3 - 4 weeks when my son will be coming home on leave. The short version is he is in basic training right now and won't find out until then what job he will be assigned thus what training school he will attend which all has bearing on when he will be on leave after training. TMI I know! All this to say I will gladly make a deposit on a room and worst case may have to find a person to fill my spot later but hope not!!!!
