Hey Laura........hating my hair right now too.......but I gave up the wig long ago........hair extensions are out........lost a couple then pulled the rest because they were bugging me.......what I miss the most is my blonde hair.......I never once coloured my hair in 37 years and I can't believe how dark it's coming in........I definately need a change........but I'm trying to wait out a bit more length and maybe get through this damn recon process first........this is how I am currently wearing it........flat iron the front.......but can't really do the back yet as Ps doesn't want me lifting my left arm above my shoulder........so wavy in the back and straight in the front.

Hello Ladies: I am for sure doing the t-shirt, vodka, pool, pickle juice and hopefully we can get some interested and do some dancing and bar hoping. The Tattoos, I am a chicken...... After the past 2 years (7 surgeries in 15 months) I still cannot get pass the fear of neddles, especially if I can see them coming (I aready did my nipple tattoos and thank God for anesthetic). Mandalay Bay has a pretty cool tattoo parlor and all the wall are glass. You can actually see when they are doing the tattoos. I am so looking forward to some fun times in September
Hugs

Jax your hair looks GREAT! wish mine was that long! Mine just started growing back Feb 22nd...I remember the day!! WOO HOO!!! BUT it is all coming in salt and peppery. YUCK! I just went today and had my gf dye it for me. She spiked it and I'm not too sure if I like it...it's so dang short... looks like a wanna be spiked hairdo. haha
I think I may pass on the tat if I can't get in the pool!!! Maybe I'll get it before Vegas! I'm so in for Vodka, laying by the pool, eye candy, and chatting with my ta ta sistahs! How fun...we have so many stories and so much in common! WE ROCK!!! WOO HOO!!!
I'm gonna go ahead and buy the shirt now! I want to be thinner by Sept but with my upcoming surgery not too sure how I can lose weight with no exercise. So I'll just buy a size BIG. :-)
These next few months are gonna be so much fun as we start to make plans for our stay in Vegas!! Thank you TRACEY for organizing all of this!!! YOU ROCK!
Have an AWESOME week everybody and special thoughts to those going through surgeries this week!!!
HUGS! Janet

OMG, I just saw this thread is in the Breast Reconstruction Forum!!! I have no boobs or foobs! Do I count? Or should I wait for another trip....?
-
Barbe ARE YOU KIDDIN ME?? I thought you were already signed up girl!!! It is totally NOT too late!
-
I AM signed up, but then saw this thread is under breast reconstruction!
-
BARB you are too funny, girl!! We are taking ALL of us; boobs or not!! Mine fell off my chest for awhile, so I divorced them and got replacements. hehehe Well, THAT'S what it felt like . . . reminded me of my X. Out with the old, and in with the new and improved.

Jax; we can get temp tatoos so we can still hit the pool! Egads! Better start working on those situps . . .
-
Whew!

OMG Girls, I'm so sorry I forgot to tell you about the taboo's of TAT's. But it looks like they have been covered. No drinking before a tat, it alter's the blood supply. No hot tub or swimming pool for 2-4 weeks depending on size,it sucks the color right out. Hey Jax, I had the Cancer Crab(July b-day) on my ankle with a lilly stem between the claws(Lilly of the valley-means Susie)-thats the one that went 'BLOG" & I had it redone with the Ribbon & flower. A cat with a ball of yarn on my right foot(Love cat's!!!) Something kinda cool- I won World's funniest videos back in "98" due to a CAT!!! I think a secret desire of mine was to be a bike chick, just never got around to getting the bike-had the leather's & tat's!! Hey JazzyGem-my hair came back like that-salt &pepper, more curl's than before, hard to believe,I couldn't handle looking like a version of my DAD. I never did the wigs-reminded me too much of my Dance tours-full makeup & wigs, had fun with scarfs & hots & beaded caps!! I did the bleach blonde with a Pink dab here & there. Now my 5 year old daughter want's it back to the normal color-dishwater blonde like her's, so like you, getting tired of the dark-time for a makeover!! My TA TA Sister's, Bear with me, as if you didn't already know, I'm very long winded & need to be told when to pipe up. Jazzy has been a big help, but I'm a bit of a computor dummie. Trying to figure out some of the lingo
DH-Dear Husbands? Foobs-? Thread-this link? PS-?
I had to keep reading about Bob & Mr. Big to make sure I understood, now picture this...have any of you seen that commercial where there are 2 ladies discussing the "personal touch" & a older lady is listening, then tells them how she got hers??!! I had dreams of all you doing this discussion, I woke up laughing my head off--humor is good for the SOUL
I'm just so excited about the Vegas trip & meeting you all in person
Take care Chow for now XOXO Susie
-
Vinogal-when was your last chemo? Your hair looks great (!) and long (!), compared to mine. My last chemo was 3/13 and my scalp is now covered in dark hair. I am so excited over it! Too short to do anything with, but it is my hair!!!!!
I must of missed it, but where do you order the shirts from?
Five months till Vegas!
Thanks-Karen
-
see page 11 & 12 to see the links showing several t-shirts
-
You ladies crack me up!! Such a FUN crowd! We are gonna have a BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tracey
-
Hey Tracey has the hotel been decided yet? I want to get our room all reserved. I'm READY!!!!
-
Me too Tracy!!! I just wanted to to let you know I love your "Life is not just about surving the Storm, it's about learning to Dance in the rain". I use that everytime I post a update on my web site & add a few little extra's to it now & then. Also want to say Thank you for planning this, give's us all something very positive & fun to look forward to, I don't think Vegas will be the same after were done!!! Take care Chow XOXO Susie
-
Yeah another Oregonian, I will add all you OR ladies to my list. And if I do get a tat it will be on the way out of Vegas cuz I dont want to miss any pool time. I got my wii fit yesterday and started working out yoga style, of course after I worked out I ate a candy bar : ( . I still have my numbing cream for my port. It never seemed to do the trick for me even with a half hour lead time and plastic wrap over it what a waste of 50bucks.
-
Hey DV8Q I think we should all try to get the same flight and start the partay early!!! WOO HOO!!! I love your yoga style girl! Ha
They always inject numbing before my infusions.
-
I go away for a few days and miss all the fun!!!
I did not have time to read all but did read where Laura said that I would slip something to Deborah???what???
Love the tattoo lady picture......I think a safe place for a tattoo would be the shoulder. maybe that area would not sag as we age.....I can't believe some of you are scared of a little pain from a tattoo after what we have already been through!!!!!!! LOL
I met Journey while I was in Georgia ...we had a nice conversation and of course went to the restroom at the mall and flashed...hehehe (made sure no one saw us go into the stall together) LOL She looks great!!!! and she is so sweet and easy to talk to!!!! I think about how great it will be to see everyone in VEGAS!!! I also saw Karen Moody for a short visit...and Camille gave me puppy kisses.....
Got to get off this PC and get things done!!!! Revision next Weds.........
-
Linda - Laura had the bright idea that she might slip something into my drinkey-poo and I would wake up with a tattoo somewhere. I will be sleeping with one eye open. And she is apparently bringing some sort of numbing cream, which means I will be both drugged AND paralyzed. SAVE ME, SAVE ME! She is D-A-N-G-E-R-O-U-S!
So cool that you are meeting so many of our sisters.
-
Deborah,
Do we want to room with a wild woman? I will also have one eye open.....
-
Hey Linda and Deborah---I can't WAIT to see what kind of tatoo you and Linda end up with in the morning, after Laura slips you both the mickey!! hehehehehe
-
"why's everybody always pickin' on me.."
I am happy to see you back Linda....
.. I promise not to put you ladies bra's in the icebox..if you fall asleep before me...hehe... Whoever talked about the numb cream .. putting on your port. 1/2 hour is not even close to enough time. If you want it 100% numb.. it needs 2 hrs with the plastic. I have never felt a poke. ( I just wanted to share that with you )
Ladies.. I made an appt. with plastic the first of June. My rads doctor thinks my skin did "freakishly well".. WHATEVER.. anyway.. I am going to BEG for exchange in July or August... BEG... ( he has never broken under my pressure yet though...hehe).. I really want exchange before Vegas..) Also.. if I need a revision. I can do it in Dec. I am TIRED of paying 4000.00 a year.. so far I have paid 8000.00 in Out of Pocket max.. and if I go into next year.. ANOTHER 4000.00...
eeekkkkkkkk
-
Jax... I wish the extensions would have worked out. I have never liked them either.. they drive me nuts. I was hoping... you found some GREAT ones..hehe... You are beautiful! Your hair is about an inch longer than mine.....

-
Laura---I hear you on the deductables! Me too!! Into my second year and paying more out of pocket max's AGAIN. Ugh!! My prayers are with you for your June 1st appt. I'l be thinking HAPPY thoughts for you for a July or Aug exchange. When the time is right---it will happen, and you will end up with beautiful, soft foobies. Woo Hoo!!!
My hair is shoulder length but it is in such BAD condition. SOOOOOO DRYYYYYYYYY!!!! I have so many bad hair days. Every time I try to get it layered my hair stylists won't do it, saying it'll stick out everywhere if I do that!! They just give me some deep conditioner stuff, and say to rinse it in cold water. It's a tad better, but I can't remember it ever being this bad. OK, I'll stop whining. Things could be worse!
-
Are there two different groups going at different times? Am I on the right one? I'm going where you're going Barbe. Who are you taking?
-
I'm hoping my husband will come with me. I don't even know if I'll have the money or time off work, but I am DETERMINED to go! I asked him to go so he would feel included, but if it comes up to only one of u$ going $$, it WILL be me!
-
Don't want to scare anyone with the husband thing, but he understands my physical restrictions....

-
Barbe! So couldn't WE be taught to understand your physical restrictions? If your DH cannot go....we are all capable of dealing with whatever it takes to get you to Vegas!!!!
-
What Deborah said!!!
Barbe... we can do it!
My mother is on full time oxygen and other issues.. I am good with her!
-
Hahahaha, let me find out the results of my CT scan first! Then I'll let you know. I can't walk much and get VERY tired, very QUICKLY. I sometimes have to use a cane....sigh. I seem like an old, old lady but inside I'm only 3 !
-
Okay, I've been lurking for some time now. Didn't think I could afford a trip out west since I have just had to meet my insurance deductible again. But, I met our dear Linda54 this week in person and man it has really hit me how wonderful it would be to connect to my bc sisters in person and you know...just let it all hang out for a change? So if I actually budgeted for it I could more than likely afford the trip. Can I come play too?
