AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 8

I'm with you gals! I don't think they should have saved Matt. Simon pretty much summed it up when he told Matt that he didn't think he had a chance to win the competition.
Gee we all seem pretty much in agreement that Adam is the one!!! Isn't he fantastic? Disco night should be very interesting now!
-
I agree with you navygirl! I never thought that they would use it on Matt. He is talented, but some of his performances have been mediocre at best.
I think that they would have used the save for Allison too.
And now 2 will go next week.
Carol
PS Next week is "Disco Week". My DD and I are SURE, that someone will sing "I Will Survive", Probably Lil...

But don't you get it that nobody will leave early if Matt goes next week with someone else? They're sticking to the schedule. Instead of one this week and one next week, two next week. That allows them to finish the season when they are supposed to. Of course if Matt stays then the second person to go next week will go one week early.
I think the judges used their save because they are very confident that Adam will win and that the viewers will be happy if the last threesome is Adam/Allison/the guy whose wife died and whose name eludes me and whose voice is so raspy it hurts but who is appealing because of his story and his sweet smile. They're pretty sure Lil will go soon, Anoop probably after that and maybe then Chris. Chris seems the dark horse. He's a very very good singer but doesn't appeal to people who like extravagant performers like Adam and Allison. Let's face it, they are both over-the-top.
-
Anna - I agree - no one else is going home earlier than they would have - noone went home this week - and two will go next week (would have been one this week and one next week..) so the schedule is still the same. The judges were down to two weeks to use that save - so they had to use it this week - or next week ... I guess they just wanted to use their new "toy". I'm really liking Allison and agree that Adam has a ton of energy and talent - but I'm just not into his style ...
I didn't care for the way they had the judges critique things this week - Simon and Paula - or Randy and Kira .. wish they'd just get their time management working better!
It was great to see Jennifer Hudson - she's been through soooo much - she seemed a little lost - but I'm sure I would be totally out of it with everything that has happened to her and her family ... I'm sure her new CD will be a hot-seller. She's got serious talent!

I know I'm late entering the discussion....
I'm all for Adam. I think Adam, Danny, and Kris will be the last three.
I hated the two judges only comments last week. I'm not into Kara as a judge-- she annoys me.
When I see Adam perform, I feel like I'm watching a concert-- mind you from the 80's...lol
I think Danny has a really marketable voice-- love the tone.
Next week double elimination-- who do you think?
Anoop and lil???
-
On next weeks double elimination I'm thinking Matt and Anoop. Never know though, Lil also has a good possibility of going. Guess it will come down to how these three perform Tuesday.

PS Can't wait to see how Adam is dressed for Disco week! I Sure it will be interesting. -
and the fact that it's Disco week won't help anyone....
-
Sure hope Matt goes before Chris, Anoop and Lil.
-
Just joining this discussion. And sorry--I have to say I'm glad they used the save on Matt. (may be because I'm in MI and he is from Kalamazoo, MI). We all know that Adam will win--it's awsome what he can do to an old song..and make it new. I think the last 2 will be Adam and Danny. Anoop and lil should get voted off. But it all depends on how they perform tuesday.
-
Welcome, Roxanne. This discussion just seems to draw us in! I was a late arrival also, and I find myself checking this thread regularly to see how everyone is thinking! I think Anoop, Matt, and Lil are the best candidates for the double elimination this week, but as some of you have pointed out, the disco theme may make a big difference.
I can't wait to see what they do with the disco! As for Adam.....win or lose.....he's got a fantastic singing career ahead of him. OMG...wouldn't it be terrible if he got voted off now that there is no "save" remaining???? Ah, that's not going to happen! LOL
Have a great day ladies.
-
Idol nite! I can't wait to see what creative thing Adam does with disco.
-
Whatever he does is bound to be original, exciting, and well....Adam.
-
Oh my gosh Ritajean, you just put the thought out there in the universe that Adam could get booted off and the Judges would not be able to save him since they used their one and only save. I never thought about that and it could just happen....ya never know. LOL
Spar, I Ioved the way you described Adam's performances. They all have been exactly as you said "original, exciting, and well....Adam"
Can't wait for tomorrow's show!
-
I CANNOT WAIT to see what Adam does with Disco....
Adam and Danny...
I am with Beth...Kara. annoys the crud out of me.. who is she anyway... YUK!
-
Well, I goofed. It's on tonight! I got my shows mixed up this week.
-
You know, if enough people assume the Adam has it in the bag and don't bother to vote for him, then something terrible could indeed happen. So that save might have been a good thing to "save."
Not that I vote.....
-
how sad am I? I feel like I have a date tonight
-
I think Allison did great tonight!!!! As usual Adam knocked it out of the park, and I thought Kris Allen was great too. I'm over Lil Rounds completely-- she sounded so karoake tonight.
Danny was solid- not his best ever- but still good.
I thought Matt did okay- I haven't watched anoop yet- depending on how anoop does I definitelty think lil rounds and one of them will go home.
-
Adam was the bomb again!!! He rocks. I think Adam and Allison will be the finale 2
-
It's not on yet here on the west coast.
Does anyone know what Adam's back ground in music is?
Has he been entertaining for years * I mean all his talent has to be from years of
practice or being an entertainer in some capacity.
He is so talented. Can't wait to see them sing but I really can do without the disco
theme. Sorry disco dancers.
Eating dinner and relaxing to one of my favorites * Corinne Bailey Rae.
-
sahalie-----if you google "TheBestArts.com" and click on Adam Lambert, you can watch a whole bunch of his old stuff. He's a stage actor in L.A.--does a lot of singing, dancing and acting. Some of it is really bizarre, but really awesome! I voted for everyone except Lil and Anoop--those 2 need to go this week.
Anne
-
Well Adam wowed everyone again, didn't he? He can certainly sing! I think Kris did a great job and had a great selection last night, too. Anne, I agree with you. Lil and Anoop should go and I don't think Matt will be far behind. I guess we'll find out if everyone agrees with us tonight! I can never remember getting into this as much before. I think the last seven are better than usual, or have I just forgotten???? If so, it's got to be because of chemo brain!!! LOL

Great show last night. Amazing what they did with the disco songs. I liked Adam and Allison. Allison reminds me of a new Bonnie Rait. She's going to go far too. I think Lil and Anoop are the ones to go as well. Nice singers but still a bit karaoke compared to the others.
-
I liked the emotional side of Adam - he's a powerful performer - I loved Allison last night - that girl has some amazing talent!! Kris was good too... he certainly made it his own. Lil was very Karaoke... Anoop did better than I expected. Danny's performance was a mixed bag - I liked part of it - part of it was just plain strange .. not Danny for me.
I really think tonights' bottom 3 will be Lil, Anoop and Matt - with Lil going home - and a toss up between Anoop and Matt - I'm not sure which will go home - could be either ... neither would surprise me. I'll be shocked if any of the others are in the bottom 3 ... but, it could happen.
Looking forward to tonights' results ... and happy that the idols really reswizzled the majority of those disco songs last night.

I must be the only one who liked and still likes disco. Where are my platform shoes and bell bottoms?! LOL
-
Always, you're not the only one...although I have been banned from playing my cd's in the house! I hope lil goes...i like her on a personal level but she just doesn't seem to get the whole "artist" thing...she either imitates or comes off Karaoke. Anoop has a good voice but not the charisma to go solo and Matt..well, I liked him at first but now he just comes across as a Justin Timberlake wanna be. I'm betting it's Matt and Lil...
-
Just found this board and I am with Adam! Also, a close second is Alison. What an amazing talent at such a young age. I think Lil will be going home tonight. Find kind of bad for her because I think that the judges are a bit harsh with her. And what is with Paula?! The mesmerizing looks she has when Adam sings are just a bit too much!
-
Okay...I must be the only one that thinks all the performances last night were just alright. Of course, I think Adam did the best but even then I just wasn't that wowed by it as I have been in the last few weeks by him.
I do agree that it will probably be Lil and Anoop going home tonight.
Anyone know what next weeks theme is? -
hehhheeeeeeehheheheeheheheh.....
"The mesmerizing looks she has when Adam sings....."
HILARIOUS!I admit, I am simply in love with his voice. I google and youtube him like crazy.
-
Wow, I thought there for a few minutes that Alison was going home. Just didn't think she would be in the bottom three. Though, in the end the two that should have went home, did. Probably will be Matt next week.
I really enjoyed the song and dance routine the contestants performed tonight. Paula did a great job with them.
On another note, is it just me or has Simon been much kinder to the contestants and smiling a lot more this season? Maybe he is leaving and just enjoying his last season on American Idol.
