AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 8

The judges keep stressing to make th song your OWN. So Adam does it and they practically bludgeoned him. I loved it and thought he was great........Go Adam.
-
I'm waiting for it to come on now. I liked the way Adam did the song - it was unique, doesn't mean I loved the song, but I think it was better than some of the others.
-
Oh I missed Idol this week. Which Johnny Cash song did Adam do? I love Johnny Cash.
-
Okay, I, for one, cheered and clapped when the go-home finalist was announced (keeping quiet until everyone finds out). I personally thought that person was waaaaaaaay too smug for their own good (yes, I know, this could really describe any of them at this point).
What do you guys think of the group performances? The blog I read always has discussions on how they all think it is lipsynched. I watched and re-watched it tonight and sure 'nuff, it looked like there were some missed moments. I also find the choreography hilarious and almost manic at times. Reminds me of my days teaching high school swing choir. Yes....that is what I used to do......not proud of that! There was a point when sweet Anoop whacked Allison's arm, and another time when Megan seemed to body-slam Matt. You just can't make that stuff up!
-
Maybe it was a 'slam dance' routine. LOLOLOL!
-
I loved the way Adam made ring of fire his own. He has got personality.
-
I liked Adam's version too but most of the judges didn't. Yet, they are always telling the contestants to make it their own.
-
I think Adam went over the top!!! Love Danny and Lil, Anoop did a great job too.
-
I find Adam terribly fake. He looks like he is wearing a wig and from what the kids tell me, black nailpolish is so last year. Too much eye makeup and smug strutting. A nice voice, but all the posing really turns me off. I wish they'd vote him off. Who needs annoying? On the other hand, a number of you enjoy him.
Megan's little dance is starting to look silly and I wish she hadn't marked up her arm, but I like her voice and very distinctive singing style.
Lil Rounds is impressive. Maybe there have been a number of big voices like hers on the show, but I still think she should do well.
Danny always sounds hoarse to me. I love his smile and stage presence, but hearing him makes my throat hurt.
Yes, I'm weird.
I find Anoop refreshing. I hope he does well.
-
I voted for 6 tonight....what a talented year. The most talented ever I think...and man oh man, does Adam rock!!!

Adam is great in a weird way--I really like him, I think he may win it this year. Or, it could be Alison--she's awesome. Danny's my pick for 3rd. I don't think Scott or Megan are gonna last much longer.
Anne
-
I agree, Scott and Megan don't look like the lasting types. I liked Adam a wee bit last night, but he does the falsetto thing way too much and is that all he's got?
Alison was quite impressive. I also really like Kris.

-
I thought Adam was awesome last night. I really like him. He reminds me of someone who was goth in high school but he changed his look last night. I think the two final contestants will be Adam and is it Alison - the 16 year old with tons of stage presence? I like Danny too but I think he will come in third.
-
I missed this again. Its on same time as Lost and Lost wins out. I will try to find it online later. Sounds like Adam redeemed himself this week. Whatever happened to the girl with the pink streak in her hair?
-
Alexis was the one with the pink hair, she was voted off last week.
I really liked Adam, Danny and Anopp last night. My favorite has been Danny but Adam really out did them all last night!
Thinking Adam will take it all, with Danny being second.
-
What was with Simon and Paula last night? I think they should just get a room and get it over with so they can go back to judging the contestants!
My favs are Adam and Allison. We will see who goes home but I think Megan Scott and the oil rigger (can't remember his name) may make the bottom three.
-
That is so funny PK about Simon and Paula getting a room. I too think they have been flirting more with each other this season then they have in the past. Simon seems to be smiling a lot more too! You know he did break up with his girlfriend a little while back so......maybe he is interested in Paula.
Thinking it will be Michael going home tonight.
-
Is Michael the oil rigger? I think he won't be around long. Also, what's with everyone answering criticism with "Well, I had a good time."? That doesn't make them sound like they're ready for a recording contract to my mind.
-
I'm ready for Megan, Scott, and Michael to go. Too bad only one goes each week. (Although Scott actually is a pretty funny guy in the comments he makes to Ryan sometimes).
Danny is going to have to dig a little deeper and sing something different if he's going to make the finals. If you took each of his last 3 songs and separated the audio from the video, I think you could mix and match at will. It all sounds the same to me. He's a good singer, but then so are Kris, Matt, and Anoop. The difficulty they all face is doing something distinctive that sets them apart from the"good guy singers this season". Danny came in with a fan advantage, for whatever reason, but he's played it so safe that he's not showing the week by week improvement that the other guys are. Lil is doing the same thing. So far her songs all sound the same.
Adam is a musical artist, even if he's not to your taste. He mixes it up and he hits the notes. Few of the finalists are doing both. Allison, I don't know. She hasn't been a fan favorite. Her voice is so mature sounding but she is just a 16 year old kid. I've liked her all along, but I can't see her winning this thing, or even making it into the top 3. Still, I would love an Allison -- Adam final at this point.
I heard a rumor that next week was disco week. That would be weird.
-
Can't wait to see Adam doing disco.
-
So Michael is gone...which is exactly what should have happened. Really surprised that Matt was in the bottom two. Where as I think Megan and Scott should have been.
I can't wait either to see what Adam does for disco week! I'm sure it will be over the top and really good! (I hope anyway
)
-
Okay, am I the only one who actually liked disco? I'm a Bee Gee fan and I'm not ashamed to admit it!
-
Are you kidding? I love disco. I just don't like Adam.
-
Thinking back to the 70's and 80's, I did like disco, but not anymore! I really wish they would get rid of the "theme of the week" and just let the contestants sing whatever they want. Hated to see Michael go, really think it should've been Scott. (he's a great piano player, but just isn't that great of a singer).
Anne
-
Okay, all together now... *does best Bee Gee imitation*
ah ah ah ah ...stayin alive stayin alive....
-
Hmm, disco week? I remember seeing Saturday Night Fever probably 3 times at the movies. Loved that movie, and the music was great (Motown is still my favorite though). I'm with Anne - Scott should really go. Alison may only be 16 but Jordan Sparks was I think only 17 when she won.
-
No disco week (phew, that just seemed too weird). The theme for this week is i-tunes hot 100 or something like that, anyway the top downloaded songs from i-tunes. And while it would be interesting to have Steven Jobs for the mentor, I think they aren't having a mentor this week.
-
I'm happy to hear about the no mentor. They seem to get fairly washed-up types who should have left well enough alone. I wish I hadn't seen Smokey Robinson croon all over that young "singer" last week, it was really gruesome. Just hoping they never bring Barry Manilow back.....
-
Please Please Please everyone! Megan the goat has to go. Good grief! Liked the last guy the best tonight.
-
This was the first time I liked Adam. I agree with you, AlwaysHope, Chris was a winner.
