AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 8

Don't boo and hiss, I don't like Adam, sorry. Yes he is unique, he is different and he makes the song his own, but I think he screeches and he actually gives me a headache (and he always looks like he's constipated).
I always thought that Danny would win, but lately I've been disappointed, he is not showing his talent enough, it reminds me of last year with the 2 David's, they both could sing, but David Cook just had more umph.
I like Allison, although last week I was NOT impressed, and obviously many people must not be, she keeps ending up in the bottom 3. I'm pretty sure the last 2 will be Danny and Adam, can't decide who the top 3 will be, Chris, Matt (they keep going on and off), it might be Allison.
I wasn't surprised that Lil and Anoop went out, it was obvious really.

Things are really warming up now! I think we had it figured out that Lil and Anoop would go. The last four are all very talented but I've gotten a bit tired of Matt and am hoping that the final three will be Adam (of course), Danny, and Allison. I was a llittle surprised that she was in the bottom three this week. The good thing about this is that they've all had enough exposure now that they should be able to jump-start a good career in the music business.
And so we wait for next week! LOL

I missed the show, so glad Adam didn't go home though. I always look forward to see what he is gonna come up with next.
Jazzygirl, I remember the bell bottoms and platform shoes and boy did I wear them and loved them at the time.
have a great day everyone.
-
I think Danny has come a long way really. He actually can dance now. LOL.. he was so goofy in the beginning.. trying to dance and sing.. just not his thing back then.. Now, he can do both..
awwww... I love to see them grow..:)
Adam will be a star I think... I hope Danny will too!
-
Shelly. Good one! And I agree. Adam is good. To good. To polished.
Just seems a bit unfair to have someone on the show that already is out there entertaining for money.
I never realized David Archuletta is so diminutive. He is shorter than Ryan and Ryan is pretty short. It was great to hear how happy he is and about leaving today for the UK to perform.
Also the kind words he said for Anoop and Allison about life after Idol.
Very nice.
The singer wearing the yellow scarf made me nervous. I mean really. You saw it. Know what I mean! Much higher and the audience would have seen Alaska.
-
Next weeks theme is jazz and I believe that Matt will do his best there. But I think he'll probably be the next to go, or the 2nd next to go. It'll be him or Allison. They are all so good! They all have great promising careers from here on out. I think that Adam and Danny will be the last two. But guess we'll just have to wait and see. And it sure is fun to watch and see what they all come up with each week.
-
I'm happy with who went home...
I love Adam. At times, his broadway background shows, and he gets a little too theatrical, but for me, that's part of the fun. When he comes on stage I can't wait to see what he will do next. It is defintiely a concert that I would pay to see.
Kris Allen is really one to watch.
I hope Matt goes home next. For me, he tried too much to be like Justin Timberlake, and all his riffs between the lines of the melody can get annoying.
I adore Allison- but I think Adam, Kris and Danny will be going to the end.
So this is Paula's last year... I like her, even when her comments sound like she's on drugs. I'm not a fan of Kara, and I will be sad to see Paula go. I love watching Simon and Paula tease each other.
-
BethNY--yes! same from me as i read your post. I have really warmed to Kris--he is unique and talented. I like all that are left. Really think Adam will win as he has the best voice and is versatile. Alison is amazing especially for someone 16 yrs old! She must be an old soul. I like Matt too but he hasn't been getting the votes. I try to think about who I would want to buy an album (CD) from--i.e., Danny is great but I can't imagine what he would record. He would be great on Broadway though.
I am LOLing that I am posting about American Idol...
! it's fun though...
-
Whoopsiedoodles (Don't know if I spelled it right!) you made me laugh at how you are mesmerized by Adam. One of my good friends is driving me NUTS over him. I think he is really good, but like you she is constantly googling articles and pictures of him and sending them to me. She is over the top. LOL.
I completely got the save thing all wrong. I thought that each contestant got one time to be saved. Now looking back at it, that would not have made sense at all. Where was my head?! However, I don't think that the save should have been for Matt. It amazes me that Allison is always in the bottom. I don't know why she isn't appealing to people. She is an incredible talent. I definitely think that Matt should have been in that seat and not her.
And no one has anything to say about KC and the sunshine band or the other singers?!!!!! I LOVE the songs that they sang, but my goodness the outfits that they wore. Those girls were popping out of those dresses. Talk about a breast forum!!!!!!!
-
Was KC the guy in the shirt with all the fly girls singing around him?
I love John Travolta's "Fever" disco movie. Classic.
I don't think this is Paula's last year. I read it is time for her contract renewel and she said she loves being on the show so I bet she stays.
I thought Cowel was horrible in his remarks to Ryan last time. What a prima donna that guy is.
Enough with the white. gray. tee shirts. He's lucky the Mother's of these singers don't sneak up behind him and give him a good bonk on his inflated head.
*
Danny is so cute and I hope he makes it to the end. We all know Adam will. -
Paula was on "Good morning America" the other day and she said she didn't know what she was going to do. She said she hadn't made up her mind yet.
-
I hope she decides to stay.
She fits well with Randy and Simon like a comfy glove and always finds the positive thing to say to the contestants. She gives them each a ray of positive hope.
I hope she stays. -
I heard that it was Simon that was leaving because he is tired of going back and forth to the other show in Britain. That's why I think he has been more generous with positive responses to the contestants and not has harsh when he is giving a negative response. He also has been smiling a lot more this season.
I agree with Sahalie about wanting Paula to stay. She always does try to find something positive to say even if the contestant really bombed. Watching Simon's face as Paula is talking is also always enjoyable.
-
Shelly....BOO, HISS HISS.
-
American Idol tonight! Or should I say tonight is Adam Lambert night!!!
-
And I'll be watching it! LOL
-
I think someone said it will be Jazz. I think Danny will shine in this genre.
-
I think Danny will sing the way Danny always does. It seems to me that you could take the video and audio of Danny's songs and mix and match them and they would still fit! But that's just me. He's def not my favorite. I like to see them grow and change and I haven't felt that way about Danny.
I'm looking forward to seeing what Allison does. I would love to have her sing a ballad and keep it mellow. I'm also a big Kris fan. He mixes it up, makes it his own, but without Adam's theatrics. Have to give Adam props for incredible diction, breath control, pitch, though.
Whoever said that it's a sad thing that the highlight of their week was AI, I'm with you. But I still watch it!
-
I too like Kris a lot. I will be watching tonight, but I think I'll have to pass on results show night if they keep on featuring such horrendously depressing "artists" from days gone by who aren't realistic enough to leave well enough alone, to take their spoils and live a good, peaceful retirement. I sure would never inflict my highly exposed aging flesh and alarming lack of voice on a public for the most part made up of young people who weren't even around during my heyday. Why not go out in style and not in a flash of unflattering absurdity?
Sorry about that. Couldn't keep my "mouth" shut.
-
Another great performance from Adam! Really liked Danny too tonight.
It will be interesting to see who goes tomorrow. Thinking Matt or maybe Alison.
-
Oh my goodness, dear Anna. You should write a weekly "Erma Bombeck" type column. You are too funny! (re: aging flesh, etc.)
Danny did us all proud again tonight. He really has been lacking these past few weeks, but gave me goosebumps tonight! And, Adam is just awesome. Broadway or no Broadway, I am already planning on paying to go see an Adam concert!
Who do you think will leave this week? I don't think it will be Alison, like Simon said, do you?
-
West coast here so just heard Danny sing. He is getting raves from the judges.
Danny did wonderful. Adam next. Can't wait.
-
they are all so good in their own unique way. but Adam is still my fav. I am never home on Wednesday nights so have to depend on the internet to see who stays and who goes. So post for me tonight. I get home about 11pm
-
I think its Matt's turn to go tonight.
-
I have to jump into your conversation to say WOW. I love that era of music. All of them sounded so great last night because they were singing beautifully composed pieces.
This morning I watched Adam's performance again (scroll to the bottom): http://www.thebestarts.com/adamlambert/idol/default.aspx
Then I watched Michael Buble's version:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYe6tmrFxbw
Adam wins.
-
Yep, Adam continues to WOW me! I also think that both Danny and Kris did really well. I'm guessing that Matt or Allison will go tonight. It's actually amazing how good all the final five are! Still.........I'm leaning toward Adam to win it all!
-
I thought Alison was incredible last night. I think it's Matt's time to go--his vocals were'nt very good, and everyone else was so much better than him. As much as I love Adam, he was just too theatrical last night for me. I still think he'll win it, with Alison 2nd and Danny 3rd. (Kris 4th)
Anne
-
PHEW!!!!! Ritajean.....Are you having an attack? My heart stood still for a minute. What is up with our favorite? that was just too close for comfort.
Artsee
-

-
Agh! I can't read anymore as I haven't seen the results show yet...!
