AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 8

I too am rooting for Kris.
Wouldn't it be awesome?
It's not that I want to hurt Adam, it's just that he'll go on to great things one way or the other. As for Allison, sorry, but while I think she's remarkable, her voice is just big, nothing else. Kind of forced. If I close my eyes I don't actually like listening to her. To me, her appeal comes from her sweet face and surprising maturity, not from her voice.
-
Adam totally rocked and loved both duets. I voted for Adam. They are all so good and unique in their own ways that it is so hard but Adam does have those vocals. I am not crazy about the hard rock stuff but it was good.
-
For all those Danny fans who have complained that Adam screams. . .
-
Adam was by far the best. I was a little put off by Danny's performance.....
I, too, loved both duets!
-
Can I just say that I have never liked hard rock. I don't have any favorites from tonight since I just don't like this genre no matter who is singing it. I thought it all sucked big pickles tonight. I hope next week is Norah Jones/Michael Buble' week. Now that I can enjoy.
-
Revkat,
I haven't seen this weeks yet (I live in Israel and I only see it on Friday night), what did you mean by your comment?
Shelley
-
BAAAHAAAAAHAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sucked big pickles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG is that funny!!!!!!!!!! -
Shelley, Danny's last note was a whopper you could use to shatter all the windows in a highrise. He cracked so hard on that note he sounded like he had three voices going all at once. It was really bad.
I agree with you Always; I don't really like hard rock either. You could hardly tell the difference between Adam and Allison's voices on their duet, except that Adam's was a bit higher and softer (sweeter?) sounding. It seemed Simon kept trying to make two points last night: Adam was going to be this year's winner and everyone should vote Kris off. I don't agree with Simon. I think it's Danny's turn to go.
-
Oh my gosh! All four of those kids have talent! They're all going to have great careers if they pursue it. I think Adam and Allison outshined the other two last night. I really like Kris but I don't think he did as well as usual and I'm still not sure what I think about Danny's solo performance. It just wasn't Danny! I'd hate to see Kris go but I'm guessing that Kris or Danny will be leaving tonight. I really can't believe that I've gotten into this show so much this year. We plan dinner and everything else around it! LOL Well, Anna and I have given our opinions. What do the rest of you think?
-
I don't think Kris thought he did very well. When he was done singing he had a look of defeat on his face. I personally like softer rock so quite enjoyed Kris's song.
My take on this, I don't think it really matters who wins, they will all end up having good careers!
-
I don't usually like Rock, but I liked it last night--I thought they all did well--the duets were great! I still see them finishing in this order: Adam, Alison, Danny, then Kris; but you never quite know what will happen on Idol! so it could be completely different! I think Danny or Kris will go tonight--hate to see anyo f these 4 go....
Anne
-
All 4 are so talented this year! But I was still surprised that they would attempt such monumental pieces! Robert Plant, Janis Joplin and Steve Tyler are three legends of Hard Rock music. The chances that a contestant can equal or top those powerhouses (also add Whitney Houston and Stevie Wonder to this list) is unlikely. But I think Adam did. Kris and Danny didn't do great, but that's not their genre. They're more light rock/jazz/blues. Allison is talented and a rocker, but I think she needs a couple more years of experience to get there.
-
Shelloz1--This is just for you---the softer side of Adam......sans-screech
-
I am headed out the door to life group, someone please post who gets voted out so I can read it when I get home. Please.
-
I was half watching last night, and didn't watch tonight... have it on DVR but who was voted out?
-
I can't believe it--Alison got sent home! that is sooooooo wrong! We definitely haven't heard the last of her. You could tell by the looks on their faces, that Danny and Kris were very surprised that they stayed and she left.
Anne
-
OOps. I looked. Oh well. I totally missed it last night. West coast here. I don't think I'll bother watching. Who was in the bottom with her?
LOST is my show tonight. I better stay off that thread till after the show tonight.
-
Sahalie, They gave the winners the news in random order, we don't really know which of the top three was the highest vote-getter. They told Kris first that he was safe and then Adam. That left Danny and Allison, of course, but Danny really might have gotten more votes than Kris or Adam.
I liked Allison and hated to see her go. Although Adam is my all-time favorite, I think all of the top four are amazing.
Did I hear them right that next week they'll each sing a song that the judges have picked and also a song of their choice? This is really heating up now!
-
Thanks Ritajean. I also think they are all four amazing. Allison has such range. She brought some fun and style to the show.
By the way Ritajean. You look amazing and so pretty in your avatar.
LOST is on in a half hour. I can't wait to be completely confused all over again.
Sahalie
-
I think Adam will win but I don't think we will have seen the last of Danny, Allison or Chris and maybe even Lil Rounds. She had a wonderful voice but needed some coaching. I was sorry to see Allison go but it's getting down to the wire now.
-
I thought Allison, at 17, handled herself very well last night... Her final perfomance rocked!
-
I was amazed that Kris got through. I thought that he should have left and Allison should have stayed.
-
i got all caught up.....
I think all four of them will definitely have great careers. Allison left, the same week chris daughtry left a few seasons ago, and look at him now...
I can't believe that a few weeks into the season I picked my top 6 and I've been totally dead on!!
But now, I truly think it's anyones game.
Kris has a great voice, and he's super cute. He's that easy going, fun concert you can see young girls and college kids going to.
Danny would appeal to the masses-- teens and adults alike--
Adam is just a star. I can see him being a triple threat... singing, movies, and more broadway. He def. has a long career ahead of him.
Can't wait to see how it all plays out.
-
Adam is exceptional - real star power. Even if he doesn't win, he'll still be successful like Chris Daughtry.
And like Chris Daughtry, we'll be hearing from Allison again. Amazing poise and maturity for a 17 yr old.
One thing that worries me about Danny is that although he's a nice guy, he has a great voice and is popular, if he wins he'll go the way of Taylor Hicks and others -- he just doesn't have the star power to stay on the top 40 for pop or whatever. Kris is a cutie, but he just doesn't make me sit up and say wow.
-
Adam is an actor.. for sure...
But.. if you have had musical training..you know, Danny is a natural,, and can make those mistakes,,, but he is still very good!
Adam is highly trained and can hit ranges that can only be hit by trained musicians.
I enjoy watching him act on stage with his vocals. Simon said it best when he asked Adam parents, if they have talent, OR was Adam "learned"..
I have "natural" talent that was NOT learned. As an adult that has not been learned, or studied , if you will.. I stink today... I WISH my parents would have given me the teachings....
I hope Danny goes on to do his Christan Rock.. I think he will have a long long career....
Allison.. such a doll and love her voice...
I hope Adam wins it all, as he has the most talent. ( IMO).. He is the most learned.
We'll see.....
-
Estepp, I could have written your last post as I agree with everything you said! It won't be long now and we'll know who goes next!
-
I thought from almost the start of the show that the 3 remaining would be Adam, Danny and Allison, guess I was off. I think that Kris should have gone, he's cute, sweet, but I don't think he's as talented as the others. I am a Danny fan, so I'm hoping he will win it all. He's not as dramatic as Adam, and doesn't go all freaky, but he has one amazing voice.
-
shello--I agree with your top 3--I was really amazed that Kris made it instead of Alison--it should've been Kris who went home! Even though I'm not a fan of all of Adam's music, he can sure sing and really should win it hands down. Kinda hoping that the judges pick a slow classical lovesong for him tonight, so we can see that side of him too
anne
-
I'm going to have to disagree with y'all about Kris. Although his voice is not a strong as some of the others, I think he is by far the best musician up there. Besides playing the guitar and piano, he and Matt G. were the two doing their own arrangements while the others depend on Ricky and the band or find other arrangements to cover.
Adam has the best pure vocal technique -- support, phrasing, pitch even when "screaming" and is way by far the best performer.
Danny? I have no idea why he is still here. I don't get Danny. He has a strong voice, but musically? Not there in my opinion.
-
Oh, I so have to disagree with Revkat about Danny. I love, love the sound of his voice. He has that Bruce Springsteen raspy type of voice.
Adam definitely should win just because of all he does each and every week as far as song choice, arrangement of song, the set for his performance, and of course how he dresses for his song choice. I personally can't wait for each Tuesday night to see what he will do next.
Danny and Kris really need to step up tonight and prove they should be the next American Idol. We already know Adam will!
