One of my BC friends on Facebook lost her 16 yo Himalayan nearly 2 years ago to a fast-moving cancer. She is a PT who does house calls for her patients. About a week later, one of her patients quietly slid a newspaper article across to her from a local rescue. They had two rescues who had been there for nearly a year and had been put in the same cage due to crowding. One was trapped as a pregnant feral, the other had been abused. They were distrustful, but adored each other, and the rescue wanted to find someone who'd take them both, no other animals, and would be very patient. My friend was doubtful and still grieving, but soon applied for them. She has an album on FB of their progress - and they have gone from hiding under the bed in the spare room to thinking they own the place and rubbing up against her without the bribe of a Greenies!

It's so rewarding to see cats learn to trust. I'm so happy she gave them that chance.

Oh she is a GIRL, I see that now, she looked bigger in the "kitty selfie", now I see he as petite and feminine in the laundry basket what beautiful markings she has.

He has the softest fur! I’m always amazed when I pet him at how fine it feels. He is not fond of brushing but he does let me brush him out occasionally.

Still lots of kitties at the shelter. Some genius decided to move them all around yesterday, so figuring out who was where took forever. Same genius put 4 black cats in a big room without using name tags. How are we supposed to know which one went with the name? We did have some adoptions and a few more people said they'll be back at opening today. I love to see them get good homes.

Just heard from the woman who processes adoptions. 20 cats adopted last week and 2 returned to their owners. What a great week!

My cat eats Cool Ranch Doritos. He is such a weirdo. And I love him!
