how to treat an ulcerated (breast) tumor

Dmorris, sorry, I don't know about any Dr's in Chicago. The ones where I work are vascular sugeons and a few of them specialize in wounds. A lot of diabetic wounds and surgical non healing wounds, etc. They use a hyperbaric chamber sometimes. I think they know a lot about it. If you can find a vascular specialty office they may have a wound specialist.

Hi Abigail, I know you have been able to cope with the bleedings. I'd like to share my experience with coping with fragile wound bleeds. I just hold a pinch of powdered yellow Turmeric on the bleed point. Holding firm for a while the powder soaks the bleeds and forms a durable plug within minutes. It usually falls off on its own in a day or two.
Since you seem to have the vascular wound I'm assuming you don't have much bad odour issues.

I use various essential oils on the bit on paper towel in the plastic sandwich bag. I'm terrified of turmeric, apparently I have thin blood and I came within a second of calling an ambulace when I was using a powdered organic turmeric daily. I not bleeding much recently. could be because of the good weather

I use tissues and pressure

I've been experiencing bad bleeds. I will try this pinch of Tumeric.

Has anyone heard from abigail lately? I know she is inactive on this forum for long periods of time, but she has not signed on since February of this year and she has not responded to a pm I sent last week.
-
I emailed her sister and will post here if/when I hear back from her.
-
Here is the response. She also gave me an address to send her a note via her (the sister) and I will post that when I get the ok from her.
"(Abigail) just went home after 3 months in hospital.
She finally got diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Her brain is still strong though.
She's in hospice care in upstate ny."
I think now that she is officially diagnosed this thread can be pulled out of the darkness and shared with everyone.
-
wrenn,
Thank you so much for the update. Abigail and I forged an unlikely friendship and agreed to disagree on a number of issues. It has been gratifying to know that such a relationship is possible. I hope hospice provides her with the highest level of comfort care she deserves. Momine was concerned about her to so I'll pm a link to this thread to her. If you contact her sister again please tell her that exbrnxgrl (caryn) thinks of her often and hopes this part of the life cycle gives her peace.
-
wrenn - How kind of you to reach out to her sister. Could you possibly pm her address to me?
Wow Abigail, you are a walking miracle. Medical science has so much to learn from your years of living with this disease. I miss you. Praying you are comfortable and at peace. Jill
-
Her sister will send an address later today and said that Abigail would love to hear from people.
-
Thank you for sharing this update, wrenn. I’d been thinking about Abigail a few days ago and sent a PM. I can only imagine how difficult it must have been for her to reach out for medical care and hospitalization; my hopes and prayers are for peace and comfort niw
-
Wrenn, thanks so much for this update. I had wondered how Abigail was and I was worried for her. Please send her my best.

Here is an address in case anyone would like to send her a note.
Edited to say please PM me for the address.

Hi Wrenn,
Just found the post about Abigail going to hospital. How do I PM you for an address? Does she have access to the internet. I'm glad she has found the extra care she needs. Thanks.

Hi all, I am sorry to say that Abigail passed away. Here is a message from her sister. I am glad she chose to live her life her way and in the end had some help and peace.
"I've been meaning to write you this last three months or so. Erin (Abigail) died the end of July.
After two months in the hospital, family and friends arranged for her to move back "home." In this case it was her Studio where she did her paintings.
We arranged 24 hour care for her, and they were all absolutely super people. They loved Erin and she loved them. She had many visitors, and her paintings were appreciated.

She was so happy to be home! Her heart gave out in the end. She died surrounded by her art and friends, with Bob Dylan music playing in the background.
It was a shame she didn't add conventional treatment to her health regime, but it was always her decision, and she was stubborn as you probably know.
My other sister took care of a breast cancer diagnosis, and she is now fine. So I hope people on the site use a bit of common sense!
Please pass this on to people on the BCO"
Maybe her name can be added to the memorial page?

Thank you for sharing this information, wrenn - Abigail’s been on my mind a lot lately. May she be at peace.

Rest in Peace Abigail. I am glad you had your people around and lots of love in the final days. I'm glad I got to see your beautiful art.

Wrenn your kitty looks just like my Selma. She's a big brat and very smart. Brings me her toys to play fetch with and jumps on my belly to wake me up.
