PRAYER REQUEST:
Three of my grandkidlets are desperate to get out of Columbus Public Schools. They qualify to go to Madison Christian School at no cost. ( because of a recent scandal of Columbus City Schools involving several principals, the school system has to pay for them to go to private school.)
The only problem is; they each need $180 for the entrance exams.
They are Kaylen(16) Shawn(14) Jana(12).
I know God can make a way when there seems to be no way.
Thank you for agreeing with me in prayer.
Blessings

Paula, will be praying that the money appears as needed in a timely manner. Miracles do happen!

Thanks Maddy. I know God always makes a way, even if it's a bit different from what we're expecting.

Pet Lions And Muddy Rivers
But Naaman was angry and went away, saying, Behold, I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call upon the name of the LORD his God, and wave his hand over the place and cure the leper. 2 Kings 5:11 ESV
Naaman stared at his new skin with amazement when he came up out of the muddy water for the seventh time. The skin that had been covered in running sores was now smooth as a baby and he was completely healed. In his mind though, he had saw this going much differently. The man of God should have came out to him, waved his hands, and said a long prayer. Instead he sent a messenger which told him to go wash in a muddy river. At first, Naaman went away angry, and remained sick. After thinking it over, he returned and did as instructed. He was healed.
You can ask God to help you, but don’t tell Him how to do it. He has multi-layered plans that in the end, are perfect. Ask Him and then just let Him handle it. Naaman gained some humility and was healed in the process. The Lion of Judah is not a pet that can be ordered around.

Please tell me how I can donate to help your precious grandchildren?
-
Lostboob thank you so much for offering. I actually had a cousin, Jeff, contact me right away to say he would pay for all three kids, but since then we've found out that their present school isn't considered to be in "Academic Emergency," so we are still waiting to hear from Columbus City Schools Board of Education.
Evidently the school district getting an F on their report card, and the principal being fired (actually 4 principals were fired) isn't enough to constitute Academic Emergency.
If that had been the case, the school system would have to pay for the kids to go to Christian school next in the Fall. The kids were just responsible for the $180 each for entrance testing. Now they're on hold, but we're still working on it and trusting God.
Again.....Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

What do you consider precious? Perhaps it's an heirloom that not only is costly but also has sentimental value. Or maybe your first thought is your family—the ones you love the most. Other possibilities may include your salvation, the Bible, or your church family, but if you're truly honest, the blood of Jesus probably didn't make the list.
Today's Christian culture desires a sanitized version of salvation. We talk about the grace and forgiveness of God and sing about His love for us, but rarely do we mention the blood of Jesus. Yet that is the only basis for our salvation. Because the Lord is righteous and just, He cannot love sinners into heaven or forgive them simply because they ask. Every sin that has ever been committed must receive a just punishment, and the penalty for sin is death (Rom. 6:23).
The Lord had only two options in dealing with fallen humanity. He could let the course of justice lead to the condemnation of all mankind, or He could provide a substitute to pay the penalty for everyone. However, this substitute had to be sinless (Deut. 17:1). The only way to rescue us from eternal separation in hell was to send His beloved Son to earth as the God-Man who would live a perfect life and die in our place.
The blood that poured from Christ's wounds bought your salvation. If you want to truly value what He did, think of Him hanging on that cross just for you. With that thought in your mind, consider how you should live. He gave Himself freely for you; are you giving yourself fully to Him? -
Luke 15:22–23
“But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry;
What would you say if your son, whom you had given a large inheritance to, came crawling home one day after wasting all his money on riotous living?
In the parable of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11–24), the father did not say one word about loss or waste, though his son had indeed wasted his inheritance on riotous living. The father only saw his son’s homecoming as an opportunity to show him how much he loved him and to restore to him what he had lost.
Like the father in the parable, it is your heavenly Father’s desire to embrace you and show you how much you are loved. And it is His good pleasure to restore to you what you have lost.
Perhaps you have lost something recently, or you are frustrated that something has gone to waste due to a bad decision you made. My friend, God does not see the finality of the loss or waste the way you do. When you come to Him with it, He sees it as an opportunity to restore to you what has been lost or wasted.
Even if, like the prodigal son, you feel far away from your heavenly Father, or you feel that you have disappointed Him, don’t despair. The truth is that the moment you come to Him, He immediately restores to you the robe of honor to clothe your nakedness, the ring of authority to declare your position of power and dominion, and the sandals on your feet (which servants do not wear) to reinstate you as a son in His house.
He reassures you that you had never lost the position of sonship. And He celebrates your return to Him with the killing of a fatted calf because you are His beloved child whom He cherishes.
Beloved, in your Father’s house, you not only come under His complete protection, but you also enjoy His inexhaustible provision and unconditional love! -
I apologize for not posting much lately. I've been a bit under the weather. Nothing serious. Just allergies. I'm also dealing with some financial shortages. DH has has 3 shorter work weeks in a row. He's working regularly, but hasn't had overtime, and we depend on OT to make ends meet.
I know this is temporary. God ALWAYS provides, but it's still stressful when you're in the middle of the battle.
I appreciate your prayers.

Just enough to get by..
Inspired by a Facebook comment today of someone sharing they are doing "just enough to get by" got me thinking. What if? What if our soldiers did "just enough to get by"? What if our police, firefighters, medics, doctors, bankers, teachers, etc did "just enough to get by".... We have a moral, ethical, and spiritual responsibility to ourselves and to others to not settle for that "just enough to get by" mentality. Let's encourage each other to press in! Be an example and inspiration to someone. Lend a hand, or a swift kick into reality if necessary! To do "just enough to get by" is nothing more than surrendering the mind to the wrong camp! Each of us was created with a Divine plan and purpose! We have value and worth! Don't even think about "just getting by" on the minimum! Who has tricked your mind? Find someone who inspires you and also figure out what gifts you have been given to inspire others! Come on now....we weren't put here to "just get by" nor to please only ourselves!!! I'm gonna press in starting right now!

What an amazing story. It made me cry. Thank you for sharing that, Paula.

Jennie I'm not usually able to cry. I've been praying about this for years, but this story did cause my eyes to mist up. Her incredible faith, even with such heartbreaking loss is truly inspiring.
Thank you for commenting.

What would you do if you only had 12 hours to live?
My Pastor asked this question several months ago. If you were told you only had 12 hours to live, what would you do during those 12 hours?
Please let me hear from each of you. This isn't a trick question.
-
Wow, Paula, that is a tough question. I would definitely tell everyone I love, how much I love them. I would take one more crack at those "tough nuts" that I've been praying for, that they would accept Jesus. And I would do as much as possible to set my affairs in order, and apologize profusely to DH about what all I couldn't get done in time.
How about you?
-
Jennie I'm sure the first thing I would do, was make sure I had repented. I have to do that everyday anyway. Then, like you, I'd be telling everyone I love about Jesus. I'm sure if I knew I'd only have 12 hours to live I'd get a lot more boldness really quick.
I think I'd try to write letters to my DH & 2 sons telling them everything they've been to me and reminding them to put God first.
Then I'd show DH the bank book, bills, insurance, etc. because he doesn't have a clue.

Under Roman law in Bible times, a criminal was either scourged for a lesser crime and then set free, or crucified straightaway if guilty of a greater crime. But Jesus was both scourged and crucified. Pontius Pilate had hoped that after scourging Jesus and presenting His bloodied body to the people, they would be satisfied and willing to let Him go. But the people were not and demanded His crucifixion instead.
Don’t think for a moment that the people had power to inflict such suffering on Jesus. It was all part of God’s plan and the scourging was necessary for only by His stripes are we healed.
The Roman whip used for scourging was made of leather straps embedded with glass, bone and metal hooks. With just one strike, the instrument would have been wrapped around Jesus’ body, causing the glass, bones and hooks to cut deep into His flesh. And as the whip was pulled back, the hooks would have stripped His flesh off, exposing muscle and bone. Indeed, the psalmist says, “They pierced My hands and My feet; I can count all My bones. They look and stare at Me,” (Psalm22:16–17) and “The plowers plowed on My back; they made their furrows long”. (Psalm 129:3)
Although 39 was the maximum number of times one could be whipped according to Jewish law, I believe that Jesus was whipped more times than that because the Romans, who were not likely to regard Jewish law, carried out the scourging.
Whichever the case, His back would have been reduced to a mass of bloody, mutilated flesh. That day, Jesus’ blood flowed freely from His body for your deliverance from every kind of disease and physical affliction. God allowed every one of those stripes to fall on His Son’s body so that your body need not be scourged with diseases.
My friend, if you are sick or suffering from some physical condition, know that Jesus took the scourging as full payment for you to be free of that condition. He bore those stripes so that, today, there is no sickness, no disease left for you to bear. By His stripes you have been healed! My friend Vaughn Dodridge

I read this post from a friend on Facebook this morning. It really ministered to me. I've been struggling really hard financially. Trying my best to keep my utilities turned on. We are faithful tithers. Have been for many years.
I do know...GOD will never leave me or forsake me. He always makes a way. Still, when you're in the trenches, it's difficult.
PRAYERS PLEASE.....
God doesn’t want you grabbing the newspaper first thing in the morning and reading all the bad news in the world. He knows that if you do that, your heart will be full of cares, anxieties and even fears.
When you are reading the newspapers, magazines, medical journals, economic reports, watching movies or surfing the Internet all the time, then you are getting your “nourishment” from these sources instead of God’s Word. Now, I am not against these things. But if you constantly feed only on earthly things which cannot satisfy, you will fill your heart and mind with cares and worries.
Jesus doesn’t want you to end up worrying about your life—what you will eat, drink or wear—as these are the things that the Gentiles (people of the world) seek. He says that your heavenly Father knows very well that you need these things. (Matthew 6:31–32)
That is why He promises you that if you would seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, all these things that the world seeks after will be added to you. It will not just be given but added, which means greater in quantity and quality!
If you are faced with lack, don’t pursue material goods. Pursue God your provider. If you are sick, don’t pursue the “cure”. Pursue God your healer.
My friend, don’t grab the newspaper or call your friend first thing in the morning to talk about the latest bad news. Instead, grab your Bible and read all the good news God has for you for the day. And as you seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, all the things that the world is running after will be added to you! -
where's the like button! Thank you Soteria, needed that

He ordered the furnace heated seven times more than it was usually heated. And he ordered some of the mighty men of his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace. Daniel 3:19–20 ESV
As they were pushed to the edge of the roaring furnace, the heat coming up from the inferno killed the soldiers around them. Then they themselves were falling through the burning air, down into the fire below them. This was all because they had took a stand for the Lord and refused to bow to Nebuchadnezzar’s golden image.I am sure that as they looked down into the furnace that it was scary, but they landed safely at the bottom and found they were not alone. There was a fourth Person in the furnace with them. The ropes that bound them burned off of them but they were unharmed and did not even smell like smoke. A nice touch.
You are going to make it. Though it looks as scary as hell itself, you are going to make it. Do not waver in your faith and do not compromise. When you get to the bottom you will find that you are not alone and only the things that are holding you back will be burned away.

Going Down For The Last Time
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. John 10:26–29 ESV
Life can be full of setbacks, disappointments and failures but the God we serve is stronger than all and no one is able to snatch us from Him. God is stronger than any addiction, cancer, demon, person, task or circumstance that you face today.
The only thing that truly matters is your relationship with Him. When you are in His hand nothing is going to touch you without Him allowing it for some purpose. I am not saying that you will never be sick or in need. I am saying that you will never be alone, and you will never be lost because our God is able to sustain you.
He is able to make all things work out for your good. Even the things that were meant to harm you will instead promote you. You will not go down for the last time because God will always give you the strength to get back up.

PRAYER REQUEST:
For all my preaching, posting, tithing, and always trusting God, I find myself in a very precarious situation.
I have disconnection notices on my electric & water for mid-week. A few years ago my husband was out of work so we had to go on the PIP (percentage of income program) with AEP electric. That's all well & good, but when you go to work you have to go back and pay back the other percentage that you didn't have to pay during unemployment.
I pay my electric bill every single month. Yet, every single month I have a disconnection notice.
DH just got hired in by the company after working there for 11 months thru the temp service, and guess what! The company hired him at LESS pay then he got thru the temp service! They held back a weeks pay (that's the norm) but then messed up his pay last week, so I find myself in a real Pickle.
I do trust my Lord. He always provides!
I'm just asking you all to pray for the Financial miracle I need.
FEELING DESPERATE
Blessings

Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man.They were eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Luke 17:26–27 ESV
As Noah labored on the ark day after day, life went on around him. People were carrying on with their lives oblivious to the fact that the end was soon coming. Though Noah preached to them (2 Peter 2:5), they didn’t listen and then one day, it became too late. There came a day when the door was shut and the rain started to fall. The day is coming like a thief in the night when the Lord Jesus will return to the earth (1 Thes 5:2-3). Thieves in biblical times were not cat burglars. It was a sudden surprise attack with a dagger and shrieking. I don’t know exactly what that day will hold but He warned us several times to not let it catch us unaware like the foolish virgins (Matt 25:1).
God loves you and wants us to enjoy our lives, just do not leave Him out of it as they did in the past. He wants a meaningful relationship with you. You will never be caught off guard if you take time to pray. There is more to life than working for the weekend.

I have to brag on our awesome God! He has provided for me as I knew he would, if I would just stand still and know that He is God.
I'd be lying if I said, I wasn't sweating it, because I was getting really worried. I kept reminding God that He promised to supply All My Needs According to His Riches In Glory, that he said he'd never leave me or forsake me, that I was faithful bringing the tithe into the storehouse, and he promised to rebuke the devoured on my behalf. Then I kept thanking him for making a way where there seemed to be no way.
At Wednsday evening Bible Study a lady who was visiting came up to me and said, "you don't know me, but I feel like God wants me to give you this." She handed me $20. Before I went home another lady who I've gone to church with for 12 years handed me a check, and said it was for me. It was $100.
Last night my pastor called to check on me. He knew that I had been asked to officiate at a funeral this coming Tuesday, and wanted to know if I needed any guidance. We ended up talking for 1/2 hour. This morning his wife called. She said, "Pastor sensed I was struggling with something and she wanted me to be up front with her." She asked me to stop by the church. She was there weeding the flower beds. She gave me a check for $300.
The Lord never ceases to amaze me! Even though we pray, expecting him to answer our prayers, it still amazes us when he does!
Who am I that he is mindful of me???
PRAISE GOD!!!

Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers and read it; and Hezekiah went up to the house of the LORD and spread it before the LORD. And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD and said: O LORD, the God of Israel, enthroned above the cherubim, you are the God, you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; you have made heaven and earth. 2 Kings 19:14–15 ESV
Hopelessly Hezekiah looked over the city wall at the giant army. The city of Jerusalem was now surrounded by the same enemy who had destroyed all of the cities around them. Then Hezekiah the king turned to God. He took the letter that Sennacherib had written and spread it out before the Lord. He prayed and poured out his heart to God and then God changed his circumstances. That night an angel of the Lord went out and put to death 185,000 soldiers in the Assyrian army. They did not shoot an arrow at the city. All of the panic was for naught other than it encouraged them to seek the Lord. The enemy became a profitable treasure hunt as they spent days looting all the supplies.
When you need help, God is the one to turn to. He alone is able to turn the tide in your favor. No one can stop His hand, no one can close the door that He opens. Others may let you down, He will not. When God is with you, who can stand against you? He is God alone and there is no other.
-
Then the king was exceedingly glad, and commanded that Daniel be taken up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no kind of harm was found on him, because he had trusted in his God. Daniel 6:23 ESV
They took Daniel to the edge of the lion’s den and let him see all of the half-starved lions prowling below them. The stench drifting upwards was horrible. I am sure the soldiers stood back a little ways as they pushed him to the edge of the pit. Then with a shove Daniel was falling through the air, right into the hungry mouths below. On the way down he could hardly believe that after serving God and the kings uncompromisingly for over eighty years he was now being fed to the lions. What a retirement plan this was… Then they sealed the pit with a stone and it became dark with the sound of panting hungry lions pacing the floor. After a long dark stress filled night the dawn finally came and Daniel was unharmed. He was taken out of the pit, and his enemies were thrown in and devoured.
Tomorrow will be a better day. The dawn will come and no matter how bad it looks at night you will come through it unscathed. Just continue to trust in God just as Daniel did. God will deliver you from the half-starved lions.

Janis

Hi Janis- I too have been just diagnosed and going to have a BMX . I am a Christian , Spirit filled and love the Lord. I know He will get me through this as He has never failed me yet 😃🙏! Hugs

Hi Janis and Saved by Grace,
I'm just popping in here as well and see that you posted back in April with no other replies. I would love to get this tread going again for a community of women to come and share and encourage each other.
Janis, how are you doing since your diagnosis... As much as this is something I would never ask for, the Lord has shown me so many blessings through this journey.
Saved by Grace, I'd love to hear how you are doing as well. Please share. Or anybody else on this journey of ours...
Just a bit about me, Im stage IV Breast Cancer, everything was discovered a year ago and now has made its way to my liver. I just started Xeloda and hoping for a long ride with that so they can keep me going until new miracle treatments come along. I recently posted the following in my blog and pray that it will encourage others.
Blessing to you all!
"In this world you will have trouble but take heart I have overcome the world"
Hello my friends,
As you may remember, about 8 months ago I started a blog called: I Was Thinking. In creating this blog, my intention was to stir up thoughts and get conversations started about faith, a topic I am very passionate about. I love to not only talk about it, but I want to help people answer their tough questions about faith. However, from the lack of response to the blog, I came to the conclusion that you may not be as comfortable (or crazy!) as me in having open forum talks for all to see!
So, in addition to the blog, I have been sharing my love and passion for faith talk on a new platform by doing on-on-one spiritual coaching at my church as well as leading women's small group studies. In doing these things, the joy that has come from the conversations and all of the sharing has been an overwhelming blessing to me. Especially during this most difficult time in my life when joy can seem like some far away thing. Seeing and hearing about God's amazing work in other's lives reaffirms just how real He is and reminds me that He's working in my life, too, even when it's hard to see.
Anyway, I want to let you know that I am continuing my blog posts but with a couple of changes. First, I am transferring the blog to Facebook Notes. Second, I am changing the name from "I Was Thinking" to "I Am Believing." This will serve as an ongoing update about my life's journey and where I hope, through sharing what I'm going through, to help your faith grow. It's the place where I will share the real stuff… the hurts and frustrations, and the things that carry me through… my faith and hope… because I Am Believing.
So here goes, my latest update:
Just over a week ago I found out the breast cancer has made its way to my liver. I have been told right along that we were fortunate to find the cancer before it went to any of my organs and the goal was to keep the cancer at bay. And we were successful in doing that... for about five months. Then, for some reason, the treatment I was on became ineffective. The PA at the oncology office told me the cancer outsmarted the medication (Ibrance). How scary is that? This living organism inside my body has become smarter than the "new miracle drug" on the market today. Needless to say, this was devastating.
So, after taking the weekend to cry like a baby (and it wasn't pretty!), I took action last Monday and called Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. I have an appointment in July. I just couldn't sit around and watch treatment options 2, 3, or 4 fail as well. My oncologist office has been so supportive and helpful in getting my records together for this appointment. I'll keep you posted on how that goes.
I need to tell you something. This journey sucks. I didn't choose it... I'm mad, I'm sad, I'm frustrated. It's unfair (there's even more to that statement I won't go into here), and I don't wish this on anybody. I have my moments where I choose to swim in all these negative emotions, but I have to jump out of that life draining swamp before too long. How, you ask? By remembering that I have hope. By recalling the life stories of the people who've shared with me what God has done for them. I remember that the everlasting God of Heaven has given me victory in the form of Jesus Christ who defeated the grave. I am alive now and I'm going to choose to live fully every single day. Leaning on Him is what gets me through.
Jesus tells us: "In this world you will have trouble but take heart I have overcome the world". Even though this is not the road I'd have chosen, I told my daughter Kristen last week that if I never went through this there would be so many blessings I would have missed out on. Do you know I was told this past weekend, that there is this church in Oregon and I am on their prayer chain? They have committed to praying for me around the clock, 24/7! They take shifts to pray for me! WHAT??? I am so humbled at the love that has come my way. This is just one example. Jesus is so good. I hope this is your experience as well as you navigate your world however difficult or enjoyable it may be. And if it isn't, I'd love to talk to you privately. Send me a message.
Love you all,
Tina
