exbrnxgrl~~You are so very right. G-d has given us all free choice, but as a Christian it is my duty to pray for those who don't know him. She said, she maybe has a month to live. I'm not forcing my beliefs on her. I'm praying for her. I don't want her to go to hell.

Are you Jewish? I ask because of the way you spell G-d. I sometimes spell it that way as my church family is very involved with the Jews and Israel. We don't try to convert the Jews. We just help those who are interested to make Aliyah according to Isaiah 49. We are learning about the feasts, and on sept. 22 an orthodox rabbi spoke at our morning worship service. We celebrated Sukkot.

Soteria205:  I don't know how you came to the conclusion that this person was a non-believer and going to hell.  At any rate, I'm not sure it is okay for you to read something in the stage IV forum and post all the assumptions you posted.  It is certainly okay to quietly prayer for someone without posting a latest news bulletin.

I'm not posting this to offend you in any way, just trying to help.

Just a gentle reminder what the stage IV forum is intended for:

Forum: Stage IV and Metastatic Breast Cancer ONLY

A place for those managing the ups & downs of a Stage IV/metastatic breast cancer diagnosis. Please respect that this forum is for Stage IV members only or those posting on behalf of a Stage IV patient. There is a separate forum for Stage IV Caregivers/Family in "Support and Community Connections".

Padiddle~~I didn't realize it was a stage IV thread when I was reading it. I was on ACTIVE TOPICS and a particular subject caught my eye. After reading her post I realized what I was on. I don't usually visit stage IV threads. I know those ladies prefer to be with others in their position.

My diagnosis is 1 letter from a IV. Stage IIIc. I have peeked in when I've had a problem to see if there was help for me, but that was early in my dx.

I don't see that I did anything terribly wrong here. I said a prayer, and asked other Christians on this thread to pray with me. No harm done.

I still stand by my prayer.

    Blessings

Jesus answered, I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6

I have no righteousness, there is no goodness in me except for Christ who lives in my heart. Without him, I am the epitome of filthiness.

If I have offended anyone with anything I've said on here, I repent before God and each of you. I truly meant no harm. I should not have mentioned anything that poor woman said. I should have just simply asked for prayer for her.

I'm still learning too. I have by no means arrived. I started this thread to connect with like minded women. Though I was looking for other Pentecostal, it's actually for anyone who believes the Bible. I saw it as an opportunity to reach out to others, but also that I might grow closer to The Lord along the way.

Mel~~Thank you for understanding. I'm so thankful for my sisters on this forum.

I've been really feeling down today because of this whole thing. Then I realized, the enemy would like nothing better than to shut it down. God can use sinners to teach us and bless us, and the enemy can use saints to curse us.

I will keep doing what I believe God put in my heart to do, but I give you all permission to correct me when I'm out of line. I'm not too big or too good to take correction.

    Blessings

    soteria,

How kind of your church not to try to convert Jews and help the make Aliyah. I do find it arrogant when people try to convert anyone for any reason. As for the poster who didn't want people to pray for her, why do you feel that your beliefs should supersede her wishes? Again, arrogant. I totally respect your right to worship your way but by praying for those who clearly don't want it (under the guise of saving them) you are disrespecting them.

exbrnxgrl~~I've apologized to you. I have repented before G-d, and the other ladies on this thread. What more do you want?

This is a Christian thread! Did you come here out of curiosity? Did you come to give me correction? I've stood corrected and apologized.

I will however still pray for her, and you, nor satan, nor the demons of Hell can stop me.

I appreciate your right to have a Christian thread. But please do not pray for people who have explicitly said they do not want Christian prayers. It is terribly arrogant to put your beliefs before their wishes. It marginalizes them.I suppose I came here hoping to understand other beliefs better and perhaps to rid myself of stereotypes. Neither happened. I am simply asking that you respect the wishes of others.

Melmcbee~~I was just reading back over this thread and noticed you had asked a question that I failed to answer. I'll do my best, and if you have other questions you're free to ask on here or PM me.

Verily I say unto you, anything you bind on earth will be bound in Heaven, and anything you loose on earth will be loosed in Heaven. Matthew 18:18 King James

I tell you the truth, whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in Heaven, and anything you allow on earth will be allowed in Heaven. Matthew 18:18 New Living Version

EXAMPLE: If I start to get a sore throat, I will say, I bind this sore throat and any virus or infection that would cause it, and I loose the Healing Virtue of Christ into my body in Jesus Name. I will also tell it that it has to bow to the Name of Jesus.

I'm sorry I didn't answer you sooner. I didn't notice the question. I need to pay better attention. If I haven't helped you to understand, please let me know.

    Blessings

    † Don’t Stop Believing

Now Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers they hated him even more. Genesis 37:5 ESV

Joseph was about forty years old now. He was second-in-command of the most powerful nation on earth. As his brothers bowed down in front of him, he could still remember the dreams that God had given him when he was just a teenager, over twenty years ago.

God had shown Joseph through dreams that he would be raised up to be a leader, and that his brothers would come and bow down to him. He should probably have kept that to himself, but he told his brothers about it and they sold the “Dreamer” as a slave. Even that did not stop his dreams from coming to pass, but instead helped to fulfill them.

No one has to believe in the dream that God has given you in order for it to come to pass. Even if they despise you and do things to harm you, it will just help fulfill what God has told you. Don’t stop believing what God has told you secretly.

(I didn't write this, but it ministered to me, so I wanted to share.)

    Blessings

Melmcbee~~What area of Florida is it you live in? I lived in Cocoa for about 5 months in the 90's. Then for a couple years in Land O Lakes on the west coast above Tampa. My DH still has a sister in Cocoa. She will never leave there.

When I lived in Cocoa, I could stand on my back porch and see the Space Shuttle when it went up. Awesome sight!

    Have a Blessed Day All

    The Bumpy Road

But Ruth said, Do not urge me to leave you or to return from following you. For where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there will I be buried. Ruth 1:16–17 ESV

Ruth walked along the road thinking about what had recently happened. Her husband had died, her father-in-law had died, and her brother-in-law as well. Now it was just her and Naomi, her mother-in-law, and they were penniless.

Naomi urged Ruth to turn back and go home to her family, but Ruth clung to her. Ruth told Naomi where you go, I will go, and where you stay, I will stay. Even though much hardship lay before them, that is where Ruth’s destiny was. God blessed Ruth after this, and she is in the lineage of Jesus.

Sometimes we find that our destiny lies down the difficult path, and while on the way we are given a choice to turn back. Many turned back from following Jesus. Stay the course. God will fulfill His promises to you just as He did with Ruth, though it can be a bumpy road along the way.

Have you ever struggled with trying to forgive someone who has hurt you, used you, or angered you really badly?

I want to share my own personal story of forgiveness, and how God restored me.

When I was a little girl I was sexually molested by a much older cousin. I'm not sure when it started, but my first memory of it was when I was 5. As is usually the case he told me, if I told anyone, I'd be the one in trouble, everyone would hate me, laugh at me, etc.

A couple of weeks before my 9th birthday I told my mother. She immediately pressed charges, he admitted it to the police, I was examined by a doctor (very traumatic for a 9 year old) and then, because he was the son of my dad's brother, my parents dropped the charges. Keep in mind, this was the late 50's. Today the law would have persued the case regardless of my parents. Not so back then.

Because of the abuse I began to put on weight, I became very shy and withdrawn, depressed, fearful. I felt like there was a black cloud hanging over me.

I blamed him for everything bad about my life. As I became an adult I used to daydream that he would come into some money and I could sue him for ruining my life.

Then I had an encounter with Jesus. He saved my soul and changed my life.

I read in Luke chapter 6 that we should love our enemies, and forgive those who hurt us or use us, and I thought to myself, BUT I HAVE NO ENEMIES! Then I felt like the Holy Spirit reminded me of those old feelings towards him.

So I told God, " I'm willing to try to forgive him Lord, but this is big, so I need your help with this."

Well Luke 6 also says to pray for your enemies. So I started to diligently pray for him. Believe me when I tell you, I didn't feel like praying for him, and I didn't really want him to be blessed, but I WANTED TO PLEASE GOD!!! So I prayed for his soul, for his health, finances, his family. I prayed every blessing into his life I could think of (as a fairly new Christian), but I also prayed for God to protect other children from him and to deliver him.

The MOST AMAZING things began to happen in my life. The black cloud disappeared. The painful shyness left me (though most of that has to do with knowing who I am in The Lord) the depression went away. Little by little, layer by layer, God began to peel away all those negative things in my life. HE SET ME FREE!!!

Some years later I got word that this man had died, (he had been living in another part of the state). I began to worry.....had I prayed enough? What was the condition of his soul when he died?

My younger sister, who was unaware of the abuse, went to his funeral. She returned home to tell me that several months before his death he had accepted Christ as his Savior. I was thrilled to hear this news! God is so FAITHFUL! He restored both of our lives!

GOD DID IT ALL! The only thing I did was obey. I was willing. He did the rest.

If you've been struggling with trying to forgive someone, start praying for them. It will be one of the best things you could ever do for yourself or your Lord.

    Blessings

APOLOGY: Ladies on October 4, I posted a prayer request for someone on another thread. After exbrnxgrl, and Padilla, both gave me correction, and after much prayer and consideration, I removed that post.

In my zeal I'm afraid I got out of alignment with God. I should have merely said, "A fellow BC Sister needs prayer" and left it at that. I didn't read beyond her initial post, and then I jumped to conclusions.

I never want to represent God in a negative light, and I never want to cause hurt to another person.

I'm thankful to exbrnxgrl, and Padilla for having the courage to correct me.

I want you all to be able to feel, that you have a sister on here that you can trust at all times.

I've repented to God and I ask for your forgiveness as well.

I'm not too big for my britches to accept correction.

Let's just always remember, that correction should always be given in love.

    Blessings

    PRAYER REQUEST

I'm asking for prayer today for my 15 year old Grandaughter, Kaylen. Her mom, my DIL, called me this morning to tell me that Kaylen was just diagnosed with Bi-polar disorder. My son didn't want me to know because he's afraid stress will affect my health. That's somewhat true, but I always tell him, " Maw knows how to pray, and I'd rather know the truth, so I can take it to God, than sit blindly thinking everything is hunky dory."

My grandkids all call me Maw. I love it because it's different. When Kaylen was 2 years old I reached in the back seat to undo her seat belt, and she said, " Danks Maw." (Thanks) she melted my heart.

    Thank you for your prayers

    Blessings

    Matthew 6:33

33…seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God doesn’t want you grabbing the newspaper first thing in the morning and reading all the bad news in the world. He knows that if you do that, your heart will be full of cares, anxieties and even fears.

When you are reading the newspapers, magazines, medical journals, economic reports, watching movies or surfing the Internet all the time, then you are getting your “nourishment” from these sources instead of God’s Word. Now, I am not against these things. But if you constantly feed only on earthly things which cannot satisfy, you will fill your heart and mind with cares and worries.

Jesus doesn’t want you to end up worrying about your life—what you will eat, drink or wear—as these are the things that the Gentiles (people of the world) seek. He says that your heavenly Father knows very well that you need these things. (Matthew 6:31–32)

That is why He promises you that if you would seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, all these things that the world seeks after will be added to you. It will not just be given but added, which means greater in quantity and quality!

If you are faced with lack, don’t pursue material goods. Pursue God your provider. If you are sick, don’t pursue the “cure”. Pursue God your healer.

My friend, don’t grab the newspaper or call your friend first thing in the morning to talk about the latest bad news. Instead, grab your Bible and read all the good news God has for you for the day. And as you seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, all the things that the world is running after will be added to you!

    What is your Goliath?

For forty days the Philistine came forward and took his stand, morning and evening. 1 Samuel 17:15–16 ESV

Towering above everyone else, Goliath made his way out on to the battlefield and shouted insults again. The Israelites again fled from before him. This had been going on day after day, for forty days.

You can bet the ones hiding from Goliath were praying: Lord, kill this Giant! Do you hear what he is saying about you! The Lord was saying: I will as soon as one of you go out there.

There are times when we pray for things and God takes care of it for us. Then there are other times that He gives us the ability to take care of it. We can sit back and pray: Lord, kill this giant! But nothing will change until we face the problem.

Today if you have something that you have been running from, and praying that God will take care of it for you, maybe you need to face it. Sometimes you are the answer to the giant problem.

    Here I Am

Now the boy Samuel was ministering to the LORD in the presence of Eli. And the word of the LORD was rare in those days; there was no frequent vision. At that time Eli, whose eyesight had begun to grow dim so that he could not see, was lying down in his own place. The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was. Then the LORD called Samuel, and he said, Here I am! 1 Samuel 3:1–4 ESV

The flickering of the lamp still gave light to the room where Samuel was sleeping. He was now about twelve years old and was serving at the temple. That night the Lord began to speak to him. The high-priest of Israel was sleeping just a few doors down that night, but the Lord spoke to Samuel instead.

When we want something done, we like to speak to those at the top. God will often go the other way, and start at the bottom. It is not the position that you hold that determines who the Lord will speak to. If that were the case then the Lord would have spoken to the high-priest that night instead of the servant.

Will the Lord speak to you? Absolutely, though I find that He will always confirm His word in various ways so you will know that it is Him. You just need to say: Here I am!

    Neighbors.

A quick little story of neighbor women who shared coffee every day. Though of different ethnic backgrounds, they enjoyed each other and became close as sisters. One knew Jesus as her Savior...the other never heard of him. In an effort not to offend her friend, the saint never shared her faith nor introduced her neighbor to Jesus. One day there was a frantic pounding at the door and when the saint opened it she saw her neighbor there, breathless for she had run right over with some news she had to share....this is what she said, "Oh my friend, I have just learned about this man named Jesus and how he forgives our sins and saves us and gives us eternal life....I just had to RUN over here to tell you right away for I knew in my heart you did not know for if you did....you would have told me about Him." Powerful lesson...

    Good Morning Sisters

What are your plans for this weekend? My husband, Jimmy, and I are going for a drive in the country to see the Fall leaves. We will take sandwiches & sodas, and our books, and stop at a park along the way to eat.

On Sundays we go to church and then out to lunch with 3 other friends. We take turns picking the resturant. We always take a Sunday afternoon nap too.

I pray you all have a very safe, fun, & blessed weekend.

    Blessings

    Paula
