    The Pen And The Crackers

Therefore do not be anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or What shall we drink? or What shall we wear? For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:31–33 ESV

One of the sweetest testimonies that I ever heard was from a missionary visiting our church. While on a plane heading to the mission field, she dug through her purse trying to find a pen to make notes with, but she could not find one. Also she was hungry because she had not eaten before the flight, and they did not serve food on the plane. She normally carried a pack of crackers for such a time but had none with her.

The missionary had brought along one bible to give away, and when the plane landed, she started looking for a native to give it to. Finally she found a woman that she could communicate with and offered her the bible. The woman burst into tears and explained that she had been praying for a bible for one whole year. The woman then reached into her purse for money but explained that she only had a pen, and a pack of crackers which she handed to the missionary.

If it matters to you, it matters to God. The small things in your life that you would not pray about, He knows about. When we get wrapped up in ourselves, we miss so much of what He has to offer. Place the Lord at the center of your life and these things will automatically happen. He has the pen and the crackers waiting.

    Life and Health...

"My son, (attend) give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh." Proverbs 4:20-22. Know this...God's Word is Life. Attend unto His Words...what does that mean? Simply put:

    .Apply yourself to the Word

.Give required attention to the Word

    .Take care of the Word

    .Wait upon the Word

    .Look after the Word

    .Give Heed to the Word

    Cleave to the Word....

This is our assignment. Attend unto His words....For in doing so they are life and health to all who find them. Look for His Word and Attend to it.

    Make it your own....

Abba Father, Thank you for today. Thank you for your never ending love for me. Thank you for calling me by name and knowing not only who I am, but where I am. Father, I can hide myself from people, but I can never hide myself from you. You know my heart, my thoughts, my plans. Now Father, I surrender myself today to your heart, your thoughts, your plans. Pull me from the distractions Lord. Wrap yourself around me and pull me to a place of safety in you where I can dwell day after day, surrounded by your glory and your sweet presence. Deal with my heart Lord. Deal with the things that trouble or consume my heart that are not of you, your will or your way. Create in me a new heart and a right spirit that longs for you more that it longs for anyone or anything else. Father, this is your day. You made it. Thank you that you have welcomed me into it. Help me to use every single minute, wasting none on foolish things. It's early and the sun is coming up at your command. Thank you. I too am awake and ready to serve you today. Thank you for the grace you have already given to accomplish what you have purposed for me today. I love you Father. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

I started chemo in December 2012, but ended up bonding with the "Starting chemo in January 2013" ladies. We bonded so well that several of us (about 10) started a private Facebook group. We could share on there and no one else on FB could see our posts. We are now at 71 members. Make that 71 minus 1.

Last night we lost one of our own. Holly.....known on BCO as Oliverhog went to be with The Lord. She leaves behind a husband, and a 7 year old son.

Holly was diagnosed last Dec. at stage IIIa, but about 3 months ago she was downgraded to stage IV. Holly had Hodgkin's disease in her 20's, and her lungs were badly damaged from treatment, so when BC was found in her lungs, she just didn't have enough strength left to fight.

Please pray for Her husband, Dan, and son, Peyton.

We know that Holly doesn't struggle to breathe anymore. No pain, no fear, no sorrow....God has wiped away all her tears.

    Blessings

Just like Israel, the USA was founded on God Almighty! Just like Israel she was indefeatable, powerful, prosperous, and blessed! Just like Israel, she grew complacent, more and more she turned from the ways of The Lord, grew prideful & sinful. As God did with Israel, he allowed a Breach in the Hedge that protected America. September 11, 2001 was a WARNING! Turn back to the LIVING god! But America didn't heed that warning. Instead she decreed that she would rebuild and be stronger than ever.

    911 was a Warning Shot!

It doesn't matter who sits in the Oval Office. It matters Who sits on the Throne!

If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sins, and heal their land. II chronicles 7:14.

Blessed is the nation who's God is The Lord! Psalm 33:12

You Are No Accident ~ Here is proof!

No matter what you may have been told, you were NOT an accident or a surprise! God already knew you and conceived you in His heart!

    Psalm 139:13-16

"V13 For You formed my inward parts; you covered me in my mother's womb. V14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works. V15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Vs16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them."

YOU were born with a plan and a purpose!

God Still Performs Miracles John 11:4040Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” God, who parted the Red Sea, rained manna from heaven, caused the walls of Jericho to fall, shut the lions’ mouths, healed the sick, raised the dead and calmed the sea, still performs miracles today.

However, some Christians doubt that God wants to work a miracle for them today. They believe that there were miracles when Jesus walked the earth, but they think that the day of miracles is over. And they talk about how everything will be perfect one day in the sweet by and by. But God wants us to know that He is still the God of miracles today.

Martha was like one of those Christians. She wondered if Jesus could perform a miracle when her brother Lazarus died. By the time Jesus arrived on the scene, Lazarus had already been dead for four days. So she thought that Jesus was four days too late. That is why she said, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.” (John 11:21) And even when Jesus said that Lazarus would rise again, she said, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” (John 11:24)

Martha believed that Jesus could perform miracles in the past and would do the same in the future, but she did not believe that He could give her a miracle when she needed it right then. You see, Martha was someone who lived wishing that the past could be changed and believing that the future would be better. But she did not believe that the “I Am” was there to meet her present need.

Today, God stands at the point of your need. What miracle do you need from Him? Believe that He is still the same miracle-working God today. Believe that you will see the glory of God. Believe and you will see your miracle!

Billy Graham is now 92 years-old with Parkinson's disease.

In January, leaders in Charlotte, North Carolina invited their favorite

son, Billy Graham, to a luncheon in his honor.

Billy initially hesitated to accept the invitation because he

struggles with Parkinson's disease. But the Charlotte leaders said,

'We don't expect a major address. Just come and let us honor you.' So

    he agreed.

After wonderful things were said about him, Dr. Graham stepped to the

rostrum, looked at the crowd, and said,

"I'm reminded today of Albert Einstein, the great physicist who this

month has been honored by Time magazine as the Man of the Century.

Einstein was once traveling from Princeton on a train when the

conductor came down the aisle, punching the tickets of every

passenger. When he came to Einstein, Einstein reached in his vest

pocket. He couldn't find his ticket, so he reached in his trouser

    pockets.

    It wasn't there.

He looked in his briefcase but couldn't find it.

Then he looked in the seat beside him. He still couldn't find it.

"The conductor said, 'Dr. Einstein, I know who you are. We all know

who you are. I'm sure you bought a ticket. Don't worry about it.'

"Einstein nodded appreciatively. The conductor continued down the

aisle punching tickets. As he was ready to move to the next car, he

turned around and saw the great physicist down on his hands and knees

looking under his seat for his ticket.

"The conductor rushed back and said, 'Dr. Einstein, Dr.

Einstein, don't worry, I know who you are; no problem. You don't

need a ticket. I'm sure you bought one.'

Einstein looked at him and said, "Young man, I too, know who I am.

What I don't know is where I'm going.

Having said that Billy Graham continued, "See the suit I'm wearing?

It's a brand new suit. My children, and my grandchildren are telling

me I've gotten a little slovenly in my old age. I used to be a bit

more fastidious. So I went out and bought a new suit for this

luncheon and one more occasion. You know what that occasion is? This

is the suit in which I'll be buried. But when you hear I'm dead, I

don't want you to immediately remember the suit I'm wearing. I want

    you to remember this:

I not only know who I am. I also know where I'm going." May your

troubles be less, your blessings more, and may nothing but happiness,

come through your door. "Life without God is like an unsharpened

pencil - it has no point."

And may each of us have lived our lives so that when our ticket is

punched we don't have to worry about where we are going.

    Don’t Run Away

Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, So may the gods do to me and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by this time tomorrow. Then he was afraid, and he arose and ran for his life 1 Kings 19:2–3 ESV

Elijah ran hard to get away from Jezebel. A day or so ago, he was a man to be reckoned with. He had called fire down from heaven and defeated hundreds of false prophets at Mount Carmel. He had prayed for rain and broken a three year drought. He had outrun a horse on foot. Now he was on the run, totally defeated, depressed and praying to die.

The greatest successes in life are often followed by failure. There is a backlash that often follows a breakthrough.

Do not be alarmed if suddenly things go wrong after a major victory. It will pass. You can win this battle just as you did the last one but you need to stand your ground and stay in the battle. Don’t run away from it.

    Time to Shine

Your servant has struck down both lions and bears, and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be like one of them, for he has defied the armies of the living God. 1 Samuel 17:36 ESV

David prepared to meet the giant out on the battlefield, but this was not his first time fighting something big and scary. God had been preparing David while he was tending the sheep in a common, everyday, typical job. One that no one else even wanted.

David had already killed lions and bears, now this giant was in front of him. None of that was by accident. God had trained him for this, and now it was his time to shine. He did not start out with a giant.

The common, everyday tasks that you deal with each day prepare you for something bigger. The skills that you develop in the natural can be used by Him. Do your best at what He has given you so that when it is your time to shine you can make it count.

    Daniel's Gloves

I sat, with two friends, in the picture window of a quaint restaurant just off the corner of the town-square. The food and the company were both especially good that day.

As we talked, my attention was drawn outside, across the street. There, walking into town, was a man who appeared to be carrying all his worldly goods on his back. He was carrying, a well-worn sign that read, 'I will work for food.' My heart sank.

I brought him to the attention of my friends and noticed that others around us had stopped eating to focus on him. Heads moved in a mixture of sadness and disbelief.

We continued with our meal, but his image lingered in my mind. We finished our meal and went our separate ways. I had errands to do and quickly set out to accomplish them. I glanced toward the town square, looking somewhat halfheartedly for the strange visitor. I was fearful, knowing that seeing him again would call some response. I drove through town and saw nothing of him. I made some purchases at

a store and got back in my car.

Deep within me, the Spirit of God kept speaking to me: 'Don't go back to the office until you've at least driven once more around the square.'

Then with some hesitancy, I headed back into town. As I turned the square's third corner, I saw him. He was standing on the steps of the church, going through his sack.

I stopped and looked; feeling both compelled to speak to him, yet wanting to drive on. The empty parking space on the corner seemed to be a sign from God: an invitation to park. I pulled in, got out and approached the town's newest visitor.

'Looking for the pastor?' I asked.

'Not really,' he replied, 'just resting.'

    'Have you eaten today?'

'Oh, I ate something early this morning.'

'Would you like to have lunch with me?'

'Do you have some work I could do for you?'

'No work,' I replied 'I commute here to work from the city, but I would like to take you to lunch.'

'Sure,' he replied with a smile.

As he began to gather his things, I asked some surface questions. Where you headed?'

    St. Louis '

    'Where you from?'

    'Oh, all over;

    mostly Florida ..'

    'How long you been walking?'

    'Fourteen years,' came the reply.

I knew I had met someone unusual. We sat across from each other in the same restaurant I had left earlier. His face was weathered slightly beyond his 38 years. His eyes were dark yet clear, and he spoke with an eloquence and articulation that was startling He removed his jacket to reveal a bright red T-shirt that said, 'Jesus is The Never Ending Story.'

Then Daniel's story began to unfold. He had seen rough times early in life. He'd made some wrong choices and reaped the consequences. Fourteen years earlier, while backpacking across the country, he had stopped on the beach in Daytona... He tried to hire on with some men who were putting up a large tent and some equipment. A concert, he thought.

He was hired, but the tent would not house a concert but revival services, and in those services he saw life more clearly. He gave his life over to God

'Nothing's been the same since,' he said, 'I felt the Lord telling me to keep walking, and so I did, some 14 years now.'

'Ever think of stopping?' I asked.

'Oh, once in a while, when it seems to get the best of me But God has given me this calling. I give out Bibles, That's what's in my sack. I work to buy food and Bibles, and I give them out when His Spirit leads.'

I sat amazed. My homeless friend was not homeless. He was on a mission and lived this way by choice. The question burned inside for a moment and then I asked: 'What's it like?'

    'What?'

'To walk into a town carrying all your things on your back and to show your sign?'

'Oh, it was humiliating at first. People would stare and make comments. Once someone tossed a piece of half-eaten bread and made a gesture that certainly didn't make me feel welcome. But then it became humbling to realize that God was using me to touch lives and change people's concepts of other folks like me.'

My concept was changing, too. We finished our dessert and gathered his things. Just outside the door, he paused He turned to me and said, 'Come Ye blessed of my Father and inherit the kingdom I've prepared for you. For when I was hungry you gave me food, when I was thirsty you gave me drink, a stranger and you took me in.'

I felt as if we were on holy ground. 'Could you use another Bible?' I asked.

He said he preferred a certain translation. It traveled well and was not too heavy. It was also his personal favorite.. 'I've read through it 14 times,' he said.

'I'm not sure we've got one of those, but let's stop by our church and see' I was able to find my new friend a Bible that would do well, and he seemed very grateful.

'Where are you headed from here?' I asked.

'Well, I found this little map on the back of this amusement park coupon.'

'Are you hoping to hire on there for a while?'

'No, I just figure I should go there. I figure someone under that star right there needs a Bible, so that's where I'm going next.'

He smiled, and the warmth of his spirit radiated the sincerity of his mission. I drove him back to the town-square where we'd met two hours earlier, and as we drove, it started raining. We parked and unloaded his things.

'Would you sign my autograph book?' he asked... 'I like to keep messages from folks I meet.'

I wrote in his little book that his commitment to his calling had touched my life. I encouraged him to stay strong. And I left him with a verse of scripture from Jeremiah, 'I know the plans I have for you, declared the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you; Plans to give you a future and a hope.'

'Thanks, man,' he said. 'I know we just met and we're really just strangers, but I love you.'

'I know,' I said, 'I love you, too.' 'The Lord is good!'

'Yes, He is. How long has it been since someone hugged you?' I asked.

    A long time,' he replied

And so on the busy street corner in the drizzling rain, my new friend and I embraced, and I felt deep inside that I had been changed. He put his things on his back, smiled his winning smile and said, 'See you in the New Jerusalem.'

'I'll be there!' was my reply.

He began his journey again. He headed away with his sign dangling from his bedroll and pack of Bibles. He stopped, turned and said, 'When you see something that makes you think of me, will you pray for me?'

'You bet,' I shouted back, 'God bless.'

'God bless.' And that was the last I saw of him.

Late that evening as I left my office, the wind blew strong. The cold front had settled hard upon the town. I bundled up and hurried to my car. As I sat back and reached for the emergency brake, I saw them... a pair of well-worn brown work gloves neatly laid over the length of the handle. I picked them up and thought of my friend and wondered if his hands would stay warm that night without them.

Then I remembered his words: 'If you see something that makes you think of me, will you pray for me?'

Today his gloves lie on my desk in my office.. They help me to see the world and its people in a new way, and they help me remember those two hours with my unique friend and to pray for his ministry. 'See you in the New Jerusalem,' he said. Yes, Daniel, I know I will...

'I shall pass this way but once. Therefore, any good that I can do or any kindness that I can show, let me do it now, for I shall not pass this way again.'

My instructions were to send this to four people that I wanted God to bless and I picked you. Please pass this to four people you want to be blessed.

This prayer is powerful and there is nothing attached. Please do not break this pattern. Prayer is one of the best gifts we receive. There is no cost but a lot of rewards. Let's continue to pray for one another. God bless and have a nice day!

'Father, I ask you to bless my friends, relatives and e-mail buddies reading this right now. Show them a new revelation of your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask you to minister to their spirit at this very moment. Where there is pain, give them your peace and mercy. Where there is self-doubt, release a renewed confidence through your grace, In Jesus' precious Name Amen.'

I sent this to more than four, but this story is so touching I felt each of you would enjoy it greatly.

MAY GOD BLESS YOU MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY!!!

    The Dancing Preacher

You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the LORD. Jeremiah 29:13–14 ESV

I had to get back to church early that afternoon because I was in the band and we needed to rehearse for the evening service. I unlocked the door because I was the first to arrive, walked into the church and saw the strangest site ever.

The visiting evangelist was dancing and spinning around the church with his arms in the air. His eyes were closed, his head phones were blasting, and he was lost in worshiping God. Not wanting to scare or embarrass him, I slowly brought up the lights. He saw me, gave a quick wave, and continued right on as if we were not there. He was not embarrassed.

He was one of the most anointed men that I have ever met. Every word of his message burned into your heart. I saw that though I was serving in the praise team, there were levels of knowing Jesus that I had not yet experienced. There was an intimacy to be had.

The Lord said you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with your whole heart. I am still trying to find Him myself and pray that you do as well. Knowing Jesus intimately is the greatest reward in this life.

I had surgery 1 year ago yesterday. With everything I've been through, it's hard to believe a year has passed already.

When I shared the diagnosis with the ladies at church, I asked them to pray that I be a blessing to others and that I glorify God. I have stumbled many times, but He has never stumbled once. He has blessed me in ways that have truly amazed me, and He has brought the most incredible people into my life.

I feel like for me it kind of started in 2008. In May of that year my Pastor had a heart attack, and my husband fell off the wagon after 12 years of sobriety. In March of 09 my then 20 year old son started having kidney problems. He had been diagnosed With Type I Diabetes at age 6 and takes 4 insulin injections daily. At age 13 his endocrinologist told us Jess hadn't grown at all in over 2 years. So after MRIs, bone scans, blood work, etc, no diagnosis was found, but they prescribed growth hormone injections daily. That helped some, but now at age 25 he's still just 5'6". At age 17 they discovered he had an enlarged liver. After many tests...again no diagnosis. Then in 09 the kidney problems start. Swelling (35 lbs worth) and high blood pressure. After many tests they diagnosed my beautiful son with HIV. What a kick in the gut!!! When the Dr. said, "There's no cure," I didn't miss a beat replying, "Except for God!"

Two weeks after that horrible news my favorite aunt fell in her home and suffered a severe head injury. After 2 weeks in the hospital and 3 months in rehab she came to live with me. She could no longer walk, so I did everything for her including changing adult diapers. For 3 years I left home only to go to church & the grocery store, then I hurried back home. It was rough, but she was also a great blessing to me.

Aunt June passed away a year ago on June 26.

I was so busy taking care of everyone else I forgot to take care of me. It had been 4 years since my last mammogram.

Two weeks later I noticed some tenderness in my nipple, similar to what I used to get when I had my period. It wasn't really bad and didn't last long, but it was enough to remind me I was late getting a mammogram. On July, 27, 2012 the NP at the surgeons office called to tell me there was a cancer. I liked the way she said, "There is a cancer." And not, " you have cancer."

I was shook, but I never broke down, never cried, never believed this was the end for me. I chose to believe God's Word. It might be a "fact" that there is cancer, but the " Truth" is I am healed by his wounds!

Going in to surgery they were expecting a 1.5 cm tumor and 1 or 2 positive nodes. Imagine my shock when they told me the tumor was 5.6 cm and there were 13/16 nodes. I didn't say 2 words to my husband all the way home. But, later that day I gave myself a pep talk. I decided to put on my Fighting boots and SLAY THIS DRAGON!!!

I finished chemo in May, and finished rads in August. They are doing scans for the third time in dec, to rule out mets to the left shoulder. I told her, they WONT find anything.

Through this journey God has blessed me beyond belief. My husband was out of work through most of the winter & Spring, but God carried us through. If not for him I'm sure we would be homeless. He has brought the most incredible people into my life.

I look forward to hearing from each of you.

    Blessings

    Restoration

Then David comforted his wife, Bathsheba, and went in to her and lay with her, and she bore a son, and he called his name Solomon. And the LORD loved him 2 Samuel 12:24 ESV

David and Bathsheba were the talk of town. They had an affair, she became pregnant, and on top of that, Bathsheba’s husband Uriah had been killed in the process. This was worse than most church scandals. Though David went through a bad time because of his actions, God restored them all. They got married and had a son named Solomon, and the LORD loved him. All three of them are in the lineage of Jesus Christ.

People fall, they repent, and God restores them. Even though they are in the lineage of Jesus, they may not be able to attend your typical church after this. Often we will hang on to what they have done forever, long after the Lord has forgiven them. Luckily, God does not need our approval for them to get into heaven and will happily use them while we sit on the bench.

Face it, life is messy. People are not perfect. They fall, they repent, and God restores them. If you do not welcome them He will find a place for them that will, and you may even get to walk in their shoes for a bit. If you have fallen, repent and get up. This is not the end. Though the righteous fall seven times, they get up. God restores the fallen.

† Not Sinless But Sin Less †

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us. 1 John 1:8–10 NIV

While helping an elder at our church repair the roof of his house, I learned a lot about him. When you work with someone day after day and watch them smack their thumb with a hammer, or drop something on their foot, you get to know who they really are.

After walking with the Lord forty years, he was very polished. He prayed over everything, never seemed to lose his temper, trusted God and controlled his emotions. He looked the other way when a short skirt walked past at the diner. From what he explained to me though, it was not always like this. When he was young he had quite the temper, but he sinned less these days.

That is the goal, and it is not a quick process. None of us are perfect, none of us are without sin, but we are working on it. Hopefully I will sin less this year than last year. If you do sin, repent and get back up. We all fall down, there is nothing new to see there. Repent, get up, and try to sin less.

Hi Paula, I haven't been on here for a while. I'm not really sure why...it could be that I'm heartbroken about a young sister that recently passed leaving two young children. Whenever I do come back, I always reading your posts. You are such a blessing.

graceforme~~I'm so sorry to hear about the sister that passed away. How sad for those children. 😢

Thank you for checking in. It's always a blessing to hear from any of you.

I'll remember to pray for those babies. I also lost a friend to BC about 3 weeks ago. She left behind a 7 year old son too.

    Blessings

Do you know who first clothed man with coats of skin? It was God Almighty Himself, when He found Adam and Eve hiding behind the bushes because they were afraid of Him. They had become fearful and conscious that they had sinned against God. In their sin-consciousness, they realized that they were naked and that the glory of God, which had been their covering, was gone.

So God killed an animal to clothe Adam and Eve with coats of skin. (Genesis 3:21) An animal had to die and its bloodied skin became their covering. This speaks of the blood of Jesus that covers you when He became your burnt offering. The Lamb of God did not just take away your sins. He also gave you His righteousness.

Beloved, you are covered by Jesus’ blood. You are righteous by His blood. God has clothed you with the robe of righteousness, which was paid for by Jesus’ blood. I am not talking about a physical robe made of cloth. I am talking about the robe of righteousness that was on Jesus when He said to the storm, “Peace, be still!” and there came a perfect calm (Matthew 8:23–27), when healing flowed from Him to the sick and when He raised Lazarus from the dead. (John 11:38–44)

When you believe that you are righteous because of Jesus’ blood, you will see the effects of wearing His robe of righteousness. You will see miracles happening before your very eyes. You become a blessing magnet, a favor or grace magnet. It is not your own righteousness, but the righteousness of Jesus which you have put on, that is attracting all these blessings of God into your life.

My friend, have the consciousness of being clothed with Jesus’ robe of righteousness. Every day, come to God and say, “Father, I thank You that Jesus is my burnt offering. He covers me from head to toe with His righteousness. What He is to You, I am. As He is now, so am I. I am in Him.” And you will see the manifestations of the blessings of health, wholeness, protection and provision that the robe attracts!

    1 Kings 20:23

Then the servants of the king of Syria said to him, “Their gods are gods of the hills. Therefore they were stronger than we; but if we fight against them in the plain, surely we will be stronger than they.

In 1 Kings 20, we find the Syrians being defeated by the Israelites. Then, some of the Syrian king’s advisers gave the king what they thought was the reason for their defeat. They said that they had fought on the hills and lost because Israel’s God is the God of the hills. So if they were to fight the Israelites on the plains or in the valleys, they would win.

What stupid advice! They thought that the God of Israel only helped His people up in the hills and mountains, and not down in the valleys.

Now, mountains refer to our good times, and valleys, our bad times. Some people have this idea that God is the God of our good times, but He is not there when we are going through bad times. They think that He leaves us helpless in the valleys, especially when the troubles are of our own making.

My friend, I want you to know that our God is the God of the mountains, but He is also the God of the valleys!

God the Son laid aside His crown of glory, His royal majesty and came down for us, stepping into a human body as a baby. He came down to where we were for the sole purpose of dying on the cross for our sins, so that He could bring us up to what God the Father has for us at His right hand. Jesus came down to crown us with glory and honor, to clothe us with robes of righteousness and make us His bride, sharing everything that He has with us. That is the grace of God. He came down to our valley.

So whatever you are going through right now, know that God is right there in your valley with you. He is holding you in His arms and carrying you through the valley. Victory is already yours. Just as the Israelites were also victorious in the valley (1 Kings 20:28–29), so will you be because the God of the valleys is right there with you!

Father, even in this very hour we lift America to you. May her people humble themselves to you. May her people go to their knees in genuine repentance, and seeking your forgiveness and your face. May her people turn away from darkness and walk in your light. Father, we declare restoration in every family, every household, every workplace, every house of worship, every environment Lord. Turn the hearts of the American people genuinely back to you so that we may walk whole, in peace, restored and reconciled back to you and in one accord. Father, we are in desperate need of you. Your will must become our way of life. Thank you Father. Thank you for your mercy and grace. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
