morwenna....do NOT get sick...you are headed for sunshine and warm breezes!!!!
dakota....they're so cute....and perfectly upright!!! (seriously.....Chicago???)
benny.....crawling out from a sugar overload???? -
You girls are so funny! I Enjoyed all the Halloween stories, especially yours, Websister! Benny, please keep Benny inside at night - don't want him to become a coyote dinner, eh?
Jenifer, glad you are recovering. Slowly does it, and be very good to yourself!
A few weeks ago a neighbour a few doors down went outside one evening to investigate a noise outside. Coming around his boat that was parked in the yard, he ran smack bang into a young black bear who then went for him. Cuffed him, and then fortunately backed away, and ran off. Neighbour had on a jacket, but the bear managed to leave a long scratch on his upper arm . . . I for one am glad winter is coming so the bears can go to sleep, and leave us alone. They are really becoming a huge problem in our area. Everybody is talking about it.
No kids came to our door for candy - it is too remote and too dark without any street lights. Had sleepover guests last night, good old friends from Alberta. Meeting up with other friends for the weekend . . . time is flying by, and life is just so busy for me all of a sudden. Yesterday played piano for two services at the two senior care facilities here in town. Staff and some of the old people all dressed up for Halloween - too cute. The singing was not good by a long shot, but hopefully they realize somehow that they are not forgotten, and that we care about them.
Good day to everybody - have to run. -
Don't worry Nihahi, getting sick is not in my game plan! I think it might have been a Chinooky symptom?
Anyway I just finished packing. I *think* I have everything, but now I've stopped I do feel quite exhausted! This morning's session at the Recovery Group was quite gruelling, as I'm sure Websister would agree, then I went for a walk with a friend and got quite emotional talking with her. Then I came home to pack.
I find, when I'm tired, the whole of my trunk aches, especially my lower back, and it just feels like it won't hold me up, so I have to sit down. Does that sound familiar to anybody??
It's a PITA for sure!
-
Very quick check in, Morwenna stay well and have a wonderful time xx
Love to all xx -
nihahi - Lol. One of the dad's in his school is a scout for the Blackhawks so all the kids are also Kane fans !!! I didn't want him to wear his game jerse, I was afraid he would ruin it. So here is what my hair came in like. The picture does not even give justice to how curly it realy is.
-
GORGEOUS LADY ALERT!!!!!!! LOVE the photo dakota!!!!!! -
Dakota - you look gorgeous, curls suit you
Edi - good to hear from you
Morwenna - have a wonderful trip/ wonderful time in Hawaii! When I am tired my back aches from the thoracic area to the sacrum, with the most discomfort in the lower back and I do have to sit down.
Liefie - so wonderful that you play at the seniors home. Hope all the bears are snug in the beds
We are supposed to get lots of snow this weekend so it sounds like a good one to stay in and do some sewing. As Morwenna said, the Recovery group session was quite grueling. The topic was loss and grief, we had reading and homework prior to the session and then sharing within the session. After that I had my genetics appointment. It was one and a half hours long. Very tiring again, but possibly very beneficial. I will be tested for BRCA 1 and 2 which I don't anticipate to show as positive for. She was very interested in my physical history and family though in relation to another syndrome. This syndrome isn't tested for here though so they would need to get out of province approval to go forward, part of that approval process would be to rule out the BRCA 1/2.
Exhausted once home, not much good for anything last evening.
Looking forward to a productive day today. Take care everyone! -
websister....I hope your "productivity" today doesn't include doing much outside.....it's snowing like crazy here!!!!!! -
Dakota! You are so darn pretty! Hair is cute too, and your kids are so adorable. Can't understand that man. Where is his brain?
I hope you Albertans are all snug and safe inside for the snowstorm? Here in the Vancouver area the ferries have been cancelled today due to high winds and lots of rain. Old man winter is certainly showing us who's boss!
Morwenna, are you packed yet? And yes, I had that back pain whenever I became tired. It was as if my back just would not hold me upright any more, and I would have to sit down and rest a while. It went away eventually.
My boys and friends are having a stag party tonight for DS in Edmonton - I appointed SIL to keep them under control. He is so tired, because they moved to their new house yesterday, and did not sleep much last night. My sons helped them move, stayed over at the new place, and apparently nobody went to sleep till 3 o' clock. I'm hoping for the best, but the less I know, the better. Just want them to be safe. -
Dakota! Your hair looks fantastic! I love love love the color, sort of a ginger color. It doesn't look too curly, just right. I agree with Liefie, the roach must have bloody rocks in his head!!! I soooo wish my hair looked like yours.
Liefie, I haven't left my house all day. It has been snowing non-stop. Everybody keeps saying it's pretty but that's not my idea of pretty, oh no. Re the stag, I'm sure they'll just sit around and exchange recipes or something like that, not to worry ;-) Cuffing a bear? That is one gutsy neighbour!
Morwenna, one more day and you can kiss all this white crap good-bye!!!
Websister, I laughed so hard at your Hallowe'een story that I scared the cat who was sleeping on my lap! Oh my, too funny. Kids!
I am still eating Hallowe'en candy. Please help me. It was a fun Hallowe'en tho' (see pics below). Frau Blooker (horses whinnying!!!!!) EDI!! We played Ring of Fire for you!!! I wore my wig for Hallowe'en as a pirate wench really should have long hair.
Jenifer, you are sounding so much better

Added note re above ^ ^ ^ ..... the reason my kitchen looks like a dump is because it is in fact a dump. Original kitchen built in '76. ~sigh~ I enter every "Win A New Kitchen" contest I can
-
benny...YOU"RE A STUNNER!!!!!! Love the smile on your face and in your eyes!!!!!!
Put down the candy, girl.....you're in a new month now! -
Hello all,
Man these last couple weeks have flown by. I have tried to catch up but seems I have missed a lot.
My vacation with my girlfriend was fantastic. We went to see a great Motown show, Met Kris Jenner the Kardashians mother, lots of shopping, eating and maybe a few cocktails.
I started Rads on Tuesday so far so good. Skin feels a little strange but not to bad so far.
I have my first mammo on Monday on my left side. I'm feeling a little stress about it.
Dakota love the pics of your babies.
Edi, I had a dream last night that you came to visit me in Colorado. It was so cool and we had a great time. Maybe someday it will come true.
Well I'm off to bed I have caught myself a cold so I'm trying to get lots of rest.
Love to you all -
Thanks Nihahi! It's amazing what a little Shoppers Drug Mart war paint will do! Yeah, this candy...... BAD.
How come I can't find Dakota's kids' pictures? I have been through the last couple of pages but I can't see them?
Maria, glad you had fun. Did radiation doc tell you to use any lotion when rads started? I used Glaxal base and it was great stuff.
-

Here they are again Benny and my third child the real "Dakota " lol -
Dakota.....all 3 of your "kids" are gorgeous!!!!
benny....do you have a date/time for your next appt yet???? Don't give so much credit to the cosmetic aisle, girl....I've met you in person, remember!
Temp is -2 here, with a windchill of -9. The wind is blowing the snow sideways outside the window....oh yeah, winter is here....Morwenna....wait for us.....we want to jump in your suitcase.....really, really, we do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Maria.....Back from a wonderful gal time it sounds like!!! Hope rads continues to go well for you.....the finish line is getting closer!!! So good to hear from you -
Maria, we will both be having mammo's tomorrow - best wishes to both of us! Girl time is just always wonderful, isn't it? Hope you get rid of that cold soon.
Nihahi, it sounds c-o-o-o-o-ld there, and stormy still? I do remember how beautiful it always was after a snowstorm - so quiet with the pure white snow everywhere, blue sky, and the sun shining. After the storm here yesterday, we have sunny skies and no wind this morning, quite a dramatic overnight change.
Dakota, that dog is adorable! I have one just like that. There is not a breed that is more eager to please their people than these dogs, and they are so beautiful too.
Have a nice Sunday, everyone! -
Liefie....did you get on the ferry yesterday??? I'm not sure if you're home or still on the mainland??? Yup.....still like a blizzard here, just not cold enough to classify as one....I'm waiting for that "after the storm" description of yours to show up!!!!
You know you aren't going alone to that mammo......there will be quite a crowd of us there with you. ((((((((((((((X))))))))))))))))) -
Nihahi, no , did not get on the ferry yesterday - going home this morning. Everything running again here. If the ferries are cancelled, there is no way to get to and from Van Island. Hope that storm of yours is over soon! -
ah.....I wasn't sure if you hopped over by plane, or by ferry. Have a wonderful trip home.....hope you see some wildlife!!! (but not a bear on your front porch!) -
Dakota, thank you for posting the pictures again! I did look for them but couldn't find them. This laptop is weird. Anyway, your kids are so adorable! Love the costumes and I hope they had fun and got lots of treats. Fuzzy kid is beautiful. Why do they always lie sideways on the bed? Benny does that too. It's as if they purposely try to take up as much room as possible LOL

Nihahi, thanks for the compliment. I do not have a date yet for doc appointment. Ugh, every time I think about it I feel sick to my stomach
I asked the radiation doctor if they would call me in or just phone with the results, and if they call to bring me in I should consider it bad news. She said every office does things differently and just because they call me in doesn't mean it's bad news. But she was really friendly BEFORE and DURING the biopsy, then took off quickly afterward, so of course I am thinking it's because she knows it was bad and doesn't want to have to talk to me. (barf) The weather here is beyond horrible, isn't it? I should be house-cleaning but for some reason I prefer to be at the farm doing someone else's chores rather than my own. Liefie and Maria, will be with you in spirit tomorrow. I'm sure everything will be fine.
Morwenna, last day!!!!!!! Aloha!
-
Benny.....don't read anything into the exit of your rad doc.....she wouldn't have had any results....she was likely just busy with moving on to the next procedure. I'm good any day this week except Wednesday afternoon. I have an exercise class in Okotoks at 1:45, that day.
Pocket party tomorrow ladies.......liefie and maria.....!!!!!! I'm already getting the thermos ready....gonna have to be a hot menu, with the weather here!!! -
liefie - thinking of you tomorrow at your mammogram - praying that all will be well for you. Two weeks have gone by now since my mammogram and I haven't heard a thing - trusting that no news is good news!
Maria - thoughts and prayers with you also for your mammogram!
Edi - Just learned that another triple negative sister passed away this afternoon - this cancer road is a tough road to travel - we need to support and encourage each other. Hope your weekend was a good one!
Morwenna - enjoy singing in Hawaii - and enjoy the warmth of the sunshine when you get the chance.
Dakota - your hair looks great - have you had it cut yet since it grew back in?
Everyone else - hope you enjoyed your weekend! -
Hi ladies,
I've been reading trying to catch up and remember everything everyone has written (need that pen and paper like Edi to jot things down)!!
Just a quick note to say hi, thinking of you all.
Been busy of recent since starting back at work, started a little business of my own and keeping up with my little man is keeping me busy. But loving it and feeling great (knock on wood.)
Dakota, my hair is so curly too....I straighten it, can't wait until the curls drop a little. Off to the hairdressers real soon so might get her to give it a little 'cut' to see how it goes. Don't want to cut too much incase those curls continue to 'spring' back up, they have a mighty bounce!
Your kids are gorgeous ..... adorable.
Liefie, good luck with your mammo tomorrow.
Adagio, no news is good news
Benny, you are looking mighty fine.
Nihahi, hope you are relaxing now that you're weather is getting rather 'chilly'! We are still having 4 seasons in the one day!! one minute its raining, then sunny, it has no idea what it wants to do here!!
Edi, I'm going to bingo this week or next with my mum. Can't wait. It's been a while so maybe I will have 'beginners luck again' ... yeh right, more like go there to warm up the seat so my mum says!!! but its the fun of it all. I just love when I get down to one number and my heart starts beating at a million miles an hour, then to hear a lady across the room scream out bingo....ahh shattered..LOL
Maria, Good luck with your mammo tomorrow. Saw your pics of Vegas. hmm, very nice indeed. Getting to meet a superstar!! (well a lady with lots of money and fame for her daughters .. LOL) you looked so happy and GORGEOUS girl
Morwena, ok, now i'm jealous. You enjoy yourself in Hawaii
Websister, your life sounds busy too. It's good to get out there and get back in the swing of things with work isn't it. It's a little 'vacation' for me to go to work and leave the daily duties aside for a few hours
Thinking of everyone.
Hugs to you all xx -
Benny...You are a very lovely woman...I promise I could introduce you to numerous intelligent men in Athens. But GA is a long way from Canada
Hope you have thrown that evil candy in the trash. My DD loves candy corn, so I bought good stash of it yesterday half price.
Dakota....Your hair is cute! Will the curls last after the first cut? You have two great children, and a furken, I think that it is amazing how you have been through all this BC crap and hold down a full time job, and still make your children a #1 priority. You get my vote as Mom of the Year.
Today I am going to the MO and see if he has any new ideas about why I got a new cancer, and how to treat it. Then I will stop in at the PS to see if my drains can come out. I do not know what the output should be before they are removed. I seem to be stuck at 30 ml on both sides per day. I sure do not want them out if it will lead to any problems. But this tape is so itchy...I sometimes want to rip all the bandages off to scratch.
Best wishes for today's mammos....we seem to be very close in our appts.
Wishing good times for all today. -
momof2
I had my 2 drains removed one at 25 the other at around 30mls. Almost got an infection keeping them in almost 3 weeks and one a little longer. I swelled a little but excercising made them come down.
My ps knew I wasnt one to sit still and relax therefore the drains were just filling!
Hope yours can come out soon
-
Benny......I LOVE your new avatar!!!! Hope you keep that one!
traii....great to hear from you, and you sound happy and busy. I know you mentioned it awhile ago, but I can't remember what your "new" sideline business was....something other than being a landlord, wasn't it? Your weather is just spring trying to settle in, mine is winter trying to barge in....we should all go meet Morwenna in Hawaii until the weather sorts itself out, eh!
edi....into November minutes now, eh...hope hubby is feeling better. Start leaving flyers about new ovens around...or just drag him to the stores to look at them....the man obviously can't take a hint!!!!
movie...good weekend girl?????
momof2....hoping for you that the drains are ready to come out. I can't remember the magic number, but I think you might be there. Better in than out though, if they are still needed.
liefie and maria,,,,.multiple pocket parties are gathering as I type.....better use suspenders, or those pants are going hit the floor unexpectedly!
have good days, ladies. As our fabulous Dakota says "MWAH"! -
Aloha beautiful ladies!
Well we all got here safely, despite delays from sundry snowstorms and shooting incidents!
Hard to get used to the heat and humidity after cold dry Calgary, but I'm sure we shall manage!
Brief rainshowers blow through in minutes, so here is the view from my hotel window on the 26th floor!
We compete tomorrow night, so if anybody is interested/can't sleep, you can watch us on the sweet Adelines International webcast around midnight, Calgary time

-
Morwenna - is that Waikiki beach? Beautiful rainbow. Good luck with your competition - what is the name of your chorus? -
Morwenna... What a beautiful rainbow and change of weather. Best wishes in your competition. I have zero ability in singing, so I truly admire your talent.
The drains are OUT...yeah. They were stuck at 30 ml for days, and the PS did not want to risk an infection by leaving them. Next week I go for my first fill. Then down the street at the MO, different news...sending out for oncotype and have to wait 2 weeks, of course. Hopefully the hospital here will not drop the ball like they did last year and not send the sample, I am weakly ER+ PR- and Her2-, so I am almost triple neg...I am preparing for the chemo news....the arimidex certainly did not have an effect on this tumor, so maybe I will have to do the chemo...Heck, I just do not care anymore. This whole BC thing has suddenly swallowed my life and I will just do as the doctors say. At least I do not have to do rads too.
I told my PS that if I do have chemo, I will be treating myself to an eye lift and who knows what else in March to get ready for my DD wedding. DH is sitting there going...How much does that cost? LOL
Hope all are having good news today. Crossing my fingers on the mammos and biopsy results (Benny
)
