Momof2 -- awesome news on clear nodes -- rest and dream (maybe about a river or a waterfall...) -- Ridley
-
momof2.....hope the waterworks have "resumed"....not an uncommon thing after anesthesia.
I won't be posting for a few days ladies.....going out of town with hubby......have good days everyone!
Love and hugs to all. -
Jenifer, when I read 'clear nodes', the tears just started running out of my eyes. What wonderful news, and I'm so truly happy for you! Just one positive node is a total game changer as I found out last year. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. You're still in the middle of that raft!
Nihahi, enjoy the getaway!!! -
Just popping in. Head is fine today
A year ago to this day I had that fateful mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy that started to tilt my world!
I'm off to my deep water workout. Seeya later ladies! xoxox -
Momoftwo, great news! Now just rest and heal. I got good news today too, No chemo for me. Oncotype DX came back a 12. Rads to start on Monday. -
was going to attempt to go home..but the pain came back and I feel like staying another night. The day shift waits until you ask for pain meds...and if I were at home I would have them on a more regular basis. food is crummy...ever tied to eat a biscuit with no saliva? impossible.....think I got too many drugs yesterday, but things are flowing again.
jo....that is a great onco score...yeah...:)
Liefie...kindred spirit
thank you very much for your support.
Need to inhale through this plastic toy...do not want pneumonia .
((HUGS))
Jenifer -
Momof2, just you keep breathing with the plastic toy, or your DD physio will be after you!
Sounds like you are doing OK, but don't be in a big rush to go home. I forget, which type of recon were you getting??
Heal soon! xxx -
Momof2- you deserve to be taken care of for a change. Don't rush going home and end up having complications. Keep puffing into that plastic toy. :-) -
Jenifer, hang in there. Every day it gets a little better, I promise. Just relax, rest and sleep as much as you can.
Jo, so great that you don't have to get chemo. Rads are easy, you will see.
Had a frustrating day today. Took the car into the dealership in Nanaimo because of something small wrong with the sunroof. The car's still under warranty. Was told it would only take an hour and a half to fix. So I walked up the street to a shopping mall, wandered up and down killing time, bought 6 white coffee mugs, and came back to get the car. It was not finished, and I ended up spending another two hours there waiting for the car. Did not have anything to read, and certainly not interested in car magazines - lol, so prowled around that showroom like a caged tiger. When the car was at last ready to go, it would not start!!! There was absolutely nothing wrong with the starter this morning when I drove there. Somehow they got it going, and I smoked the tires out of there, because the sun was setting by then, it was an hour's drive home, and I don't like driving when it's dark. What a waste of an afternoon, and will have to go back there soon to get the starter fixed . . .
Morwenna, just want to tell you you look terrific in that choir photo! I love your hair like that, really do. -
Liefie......I KNEW I should have stuck around.....I could have kept you company!
XO -
Thanks liefie,
What a pain about the car!!! Did you have the lovely weather Calgary got today? We had to make the most of it as snow is forecast in a couple of days!!!.
Today I had my shirt off to sunbathe on the deck (don't tell my rad onc!!)
-
Movie, we could have walked quite a few miles in those two hours, eh? But you can ask me the specs and price of every car they have on the floor there. Made an intense study of it for lack of anything else to do - lol.
Morwenna, yesterday was a lovely sunny day here, but today it is grey and overcast again as usual. Tomorrow and the following few days are supposed to be open and sunny. Sunbathing this time of year is quite safe I think - the rays are just not strong enough to do damage. I will have to be careful in S.A. though, wear my sunhat, and slather on the sunscreen. Just love it when the sun shines down on me. Snow? Hopefully we don't get that here soon.
Today have to seriously practise piano for Sunday, as 3 of the songs I have never heard before - gulp! Then have to produce something to take to the potluck tomorrow where I will be meeting another 10 women from these boards. So looking forward to that! Found a 'Bakefest' pamphlet in the postbox the other day. There is a recipe and photo for Blueberry Cheesecake Bars which look divine. Think I will try that, because whatever I make has to travel well, and we do need dessert, right???? -
Liefie, cars can be such a pain. I also feel as an older woman that the mechanics think I'm not capable of understanding what they are saying. Even though the car is mine they always talk to my husband and kind of ignore me. Then when they ask a question they seem surprised when my hubby says " ask her it's her car." I wish there were more women mechanics. Maybe in another life, I could do that :-) -
Jo, and to add insult to injury, all the people working there are the age of my children, and probably think I'm senile anyway - LOL! -
Liefie, I have a killer recipe for molasses cookies (you can call them gingerbread cookies during the holidays). They're easy, travel well, freeze well, and everyone raves about them. I'll post the recipe if you want it. -
This is nuts!

Today it is sunny with a high of 19, and tomorrow a snowfall warning!!
Glad I am off to Hawaii next Saturday!
-
Morwenna, hope you have big pockets...I want to be there for a ride to Hawaii! :-) have a wonderful time. Is this a celebration trip? -
I have ENORMOUS pockets, and you are all invited!
This is to take part in the Sweet Adelines International convention and competition with my singing group. We won our regional competition for mid-sized choruses in May 2012, and the top 5 regional winners compete at international level in the Harmony Classic competition.
Can you tell I'm excited at all???!!!
-
Morwenna, Congratulations. Sounds like so much fun. Best of luck in your competition. Love our local Sweet Adeline's. I can't carry a note in a bushel basket so really appreciate beautiful voices. -
Is your local chorus the Great Lakes Sound Jo? I see you are in region 3, which has the Melodeers from Baltimore! They are huge! (and frequent winners at International!)
-
liefie - It was wonderful meeting you today at the B.C. get together - it was such a great time chatting to lots of new friends. How lovely it is to put faces to names! Hope your flight back went smoothly. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. -
Morwenna- Not sure of the name of our local group. They come to our church once a year and sing for us. I will pay more attention to their name next time. -

My six year old GD has just pinned this onto her bedroom door. ED is laughing.( not )
Hope you are all well.
Got to catch up properly but will post tomorrow X

Prince George's christening. Isn't he a cutie ? Mum and Dad are besotted.
-
They should be scouser - he is adorable but how could he not be - his parents are good looking. Diana would be so proud. Kate is a younger version of her. Jo - I too dodged the chemo bullet with an Oncotype score of 11. Thank God for that test...diane -
Edi, LOVED GD's note! Too funny!
As for George, I think he looks SO like his dad ...... and I'm not usually one for commenting on resemblances!
-
The snow's started! Good morning Winter!!
