Edi - how great that you can type a post on your new phone - I am still using my original flip phone - but my husband has an iPhone so I am well aware of the benefits. That is so discouraging for your ED with that shoddy workmanship - sounds like it could be quite a big job! I had a friend who had cataracts done recently and she said it was no biggie - took only a few minutes with the laser - however, it sounds like a big thing to me. When is that going to happen.

Benny - glad you got through the biopsy - now the waiting begins - positive vibes are coming your way.

Liefie - isn't this glorious weather we are having - I am trying to be outside as much as possible since I heard that the rain is coming in a day or so! Glad you got back safely on the little plane - it was so great to meet you here in Vancouver.

Momof2 - hope things continue to go well for you and that the pain continues to be manageable.

Edi, Ativan is a tranquilizer -type drug......like Xanax........I took two 5 mg. pills when having needle-guided biopsy....( misunderstood BS .....I was supposed to take up to 2 halves) needless to say I could barely walk.....and they had to lift me up on the table....as I was too drunk to do it my self!

Benny......CALL HIM!! It will get your mind on something else-especially if he's good looking! :)

Edi....sounds like DD has a lawsuit........hopefully everything will sort out soon....

Going to bed......love to all! xO

Benny, I didn't mean for you to give the stone back. It's something tangible for you to have in your pocket that when you feel it there you will know that all your friends from BC.org are right there with you crammed into that pocket!

At least keep it while you have this worry on anyway!

So you're off to the farm tomorrow?? Remember you're not supposed to do anything strenuous for a week!!! :/

Hugs to everyone. Off to bed for me, been a long day! :)

Pretty sunrise this morning....Benny, it's for you---guaranteed!!! I sense complete hopelessness in the following words......PLEASE follow your doctors orders!!!!!! .

I'm going to look into your sleep program, to see if I can get into it.....I have a dreaded feeling that the melatonin that worked so well for me when I started it, is starting to be less effective. Of course, last night, the issue is my one arm is quite sore and I'm slightly achey.....had my flu shot AND pneumonia vaccine, both in the same arm yesterday. I always react to the flu shot, but I think having two different "immunity battles" at the same time is doing me in.

Edi....sorry to hear about hubby's back....He had a "sitting" job for years didn't he??? Why is it that grown men think they can go from zero to 100, without consequences!!! Tell him to ice it, hide the heating pad if you have to! How did the cake turn out????

websister....how did the 0'dark:30 work shift go???? So glad to hear you had fun at your GWA in Canmore...my gang has gone away every year for almost 20 years....still in the planning stages for this year.

Dakota....fyi....we're cheering for the Red Sox!

Hugs to all.....Morwenna....snow again on Sunday....I'm coming to Hawaii with you!!!

    Hi everyone

Benny - yes, my port removal is November 8th - I am booked at 1030 and told to allow for 4 hours. When is your appt? If I can't be there then I am glad that Nihahi might be able to be. Glad to hear the biopsy went as well as biopsies can go and that you had a kindred spirit in the radiologist. Agree with everyone else, call the mechanic ;)

Morwenna - room in that suitcase for me? ;)

Liefie - your get together in Vancouver sounds like it was wonderful, saw a picture of the group on a other thread. When is DS traveling to SA? Hard for him.

    Dakota - muah!!!

Edi - hope the waiting isn't too long for ED and that the news is better than expected, so difficult to go through these things

Movie - my jaw dropped when I read the does of Ativan you took! I've seen 2 mg do that to some people. How is your Mom doing?

Bev - good to see you here again

Nihahi - hope you can be with Benny if timing doesn't work for me on the 8th. It was a long day for me yesterday, not as long as your Election Day, but long. I was at the RRDTC in the afternoon in the computer training room, you have to go way down in the basement and then up some very steep stairs to get to it. I fell up the stairs, right hip, arm, back and chest sore today - Murphy's law it would be my operative side. Felt more stupid than anything. My water bottle got the brunt of it though - thankful for that.

Going to take it easy today, then back at it tomorrow.

    Take care everyone

Websister, sorry to hear about your fall up the stairs. Hope you are okay? At least it's better than down the stairs, eh? Have so many stairs in my house, always afraid of falling, and in winter wear socks all the time, so have to be extra careful on the wooden stairs. DS leaving on Nov. 15, so not long to go now.

The wedding machinery is warming up. Received a beautiful e-vite to the kitchen tea/bachelorette from the bridesmaids. Will miss it though, because we'll be arriving too late for that - my sisters and cousins will represent me there. Also stag parties being organized here and in S.A. - the whole thing is beginning to materialize now. So happy for those kids. They were supposed to get married last December, but Immigration Canada killed that idea, and they had to jump many hoops for their wedding dream to come true at last.

Nihahi, sorry to hear you're under the weather - hope it goes away soon. I'm always in two minds about that flu shot. Never get colds, maybe once every 5/6 years, but I'm not getting younger, right?

Dakota, glad to hear the insect is behaving, and that you are happy with your tattoos.

Movie, next time put on your glasses when you have to take a pill - LOL! But I've done similar things . . .

Benny, are you taking it easy on the farm?

Morwenna, your Hawaii trip is coming closer - you must be so excited! I love choir music, and hope to hear yours one day.

Edi, you are so funny. Retirement has not been long enough yet for you to call it a disaster - how long has it been? Four weeks? LOL. Hope that engineer's report is favourable for your daughter.

Ridley, it is a nurse who works for a PS in the lower mainland who did that nipple tattoo. It is a work of art.

Jenifer, how are you feeling? Drains coming out yet?

Bearcub, I love your profile pic! I've discovered I am a 'chicken person'.

Ugh, please, someone take this Hallowe'en candy away from me! Yikes! I've had at least 8 Reese's Peanut Butter cups already and the cauldron is sitting at the door with 5 pounds more. Maybe I wore it off climbing up on ladders to hang the Hallowe'en decorations. Got a 5 foot moving witch with eyes that flash and sounds, a giant ghost, a giant 72" spider hanging in the window with webbing, a bat, a bloody hand hanging out of the mailbox, and various pumpkins scattered around. It looks might fine, if I do say so myself. This time tomorrow night I will be a pirate girl.

Movie, re the Ativan! Oh my goodness! Did you wake up 3 days later!? That's alot LOL It DOES work well. I only took a half a tab but a little goes a long way on me. I hope the chemo I had worked under the same principle. I will call the mechanic but I've gained 4 pounds (see above Hallowe'en candy event ^^^^^) and I have to lose that first. He has a sizeable tummy so maybe he wouldn't mind my 4 pounds, but who knows.

Edi, I think ED should stick to her guns and demand they fix it at their expense. What ever happened to professionalism in the trades?? She'd have been better off grabbing some handyman off the street, for what service she got. Maybe send DH back to school to be an engineer Happy

Morwenna, thank you for the little blue stone. It's still in my pocket as I transferred it to my jeans today on my way out to the farm. I treasure it.

Nihahi, lol I did go to the farm but I did not throw one single bale of hay this afternoon. Now, I did move a few around on the tractor, you know, sort of shoving them with my shoulder, that sort of thing. But definitely no throwing! These ones today were soaked with snow (melted) and weighed about 75 pounds so I did err on the side of caution. Re the ICanSleep program.... I forgot to ask Dr. Speca about giving you a book (Sbelizabeth, did you want one too?) but I will call him tomorrow. My memory is bad. I can't even remember what i just wrote. My memory is bad. I can't even remember what I just wrote. Oh, re the cold, I have always found taking Redoxon Blue very helpful when i have a cold. It's just an effervescent vitamin pill but it seems to send the cold packing in short order!

Websister, so sorry to hear about the fall. Ouch. I hope no lingering pain. If it's any consolation, I've never fallen down the stairs but have fallen up the stairs countless times. ThumbsDown November 8 will be a great day!!!!

Liefie, I was as good as I can be at the farm today. Diamond was quite 'fresh' so she yanked my arm out of its joint once or twice but no harm done. So nice that the wedding stuff is all coming together. You never know, there may be some cosmic reason why it would be better this year than last. Sometimes the unverse knows best.

Okay, I feel sick from eating all that darn candy. Gonna go wash the manure off me and fiinish supper dishes. I wonder if this thing is going to cut off my last word?

Benny, your post made me smile - you sound a little high on that candy, girl! Your Halloween decorations sound awesome too. Don't worry about the 4 lbs - you have an ideal excuse to invite mechanic to spend some Halloween time with pirate girl, right?

Movie, I had the last square of your lovely Oregon chocolate today. Managed to lose 2 more lbs on that - pretty pleased.

La Traviata is on TV, and I'm watching it. The soprano has on a humongous, unfortunate white dress, and the lead male is a

heavy, ugly guy, but they're singing like angels - so enjoyable.

Hi Nihahi, I left a message with them this morning, at 403-355-3207. The email  I have is calgarypsychosocial@albertahealthservices.ca . Hopefully they call me back. Was that the email you had?

I am still reeling from an incident last night. Liefie, you'll appreciate this one. It was 11 p.m. and I was still putzing around putting up Hallowe'en decorations. I opened the front door and stepped out onto my porch. Benny was with me and walked ahead of me about 1 foot. Suddenly he arched his back, hackles up, fur puffed out, and started hissing LOUDLY. I looked over to see what he was hissing at......... there was a coyote standing less than 2 feet from us ON MY PORCH STEP. I screamed a little and the coyote turned and fled down the front steps. I can still hear the sound his claws made on the pavement when he turned. I then saw another one loping down the road, and he joined that one. Benny ran back in the house and under bed (which is where I eventually found him). I don't think I've ever been so shocked in all my life (well, except for the time I skipped out of church and got charged by a bull. Oh, and there was the time someone tried to strangle me in the Haunted House at the PNE in Vancouver, but this coyote thing is right up there in the top three). I am still freaked out about it today. I mentioned it to my next door neighbour and he said he sees them all the time running down the street at night. I live in an inner city neighbourhood! Benny has recovered a bit today but last night he only came out at bedtime and crawled under the covers with me, where he slept all night. I am thankful they chose to run instead of grab Benny, which was a feasible option last night as they were only 2 feet from him, 3 feet from me. Unbelievable. My adrenaline starts going just thinking about it.

    Jenifer, how are you doing?

I am cleaning the chicken cage today, vacuuming, and then the ex boyfriend is coming over to help me give out Hallowe'een candy. We're going to watch Young Frankenstein, despite the fact that we have watched it so many times we can actually recite most of the lines along with the characters. Wasn't that hump on the other side? Mwahahahahaha

Okay, hope everyone is having the best day they can. Love to all XXX

Just got back from my post op appointment with the PS. I have to wait until Monday before he can remove the drains. I also have an appt with the MO on Monday. It is nice that all the doctors are within 1 mile of each other and about 3 miles from my house. DD was with me until this AM and she left with her fiancé and their 2 doggies. DH is mowing the leaves in the yard, before the rains come. So now that I have been given clearance to move my arms (as long as there is no pain) I think my mood will be better.

Is the real Benny a cat? We had similar problems when we lived in Oregon. Several residents lost their pets to coyotes. I do hope that is the last close encounter you have. In Oregon there was a crazy lady who fed the wild bears....bears became dependent on the residents for food. They even broke into cars if they could smell food. Finally law enforcement had to relocate the woman and took out a restraining order that she could never come back into Lincoln County.

Well, I must say, I am really tired of recuperating! I want a shower so bad!!! Maybe I can get DH to wash my hair tomorrow. Since I cannot sew, perhaps I will crochet an afghan! I so hope that this time next year I can look back upon this year a breath a sigh of relief that I made it through 1 yr without a recurrence. Things had been going pretty good all year....then Bam...I feel like I am in the movie Groundhog Day.

Benny, your house sounds like fun!!!Hope you get a lot of trick or treaters to take all the candy temptation. You also sound a lot more positive. I have high hopes that your biopsy will be nothing to worry about.

    Happy Halloween to all

Nihahi, Marisa from Dr. Speca's office just called me back. She is not sure about copyright and mailing out books but she is going to ask him and get back to me asap. She also thought you should be able to join the program if you're interested. Do you want to get into the program or just get a book? The program runs every Thursday night for 6 weeks, at the TBCC. The ex boyfriend is an old friend of mine. There's nothing going on and there never will be. He's a bit neurotic, shall we say. But he is a great friend and we get along really well. He is a guitar teacher and that's how I met him. If I remember I will get a picture of him tonight (he'll be a gangster) and see if he'll let me upload it ( a pic of both of us).

Still eating this darn candy. Tonight can't come soon enough. Then I'm going to donate the rest before I have to buy a whole new wardrobe. Shocked

Hi I LOVE you mad women soooo much Happy

Came on here feeling fed up and sad, but now laughing. Happy Halloween to you all.DevilThis is one of my favourite times of the year. GD's now at parties after school but bought scarey masks for me and DH, filled dish with candy and waited.
Door bell rings and we fling it open, a little boy dressed as a skeleton jumped about a foot off the ground !! His sisters werent phased and just took their sweets. Then he realised we werent really a witch and a monster, took sweets thanked us politely and trotted off down the front path to his mom who was laughing her socks off.Winking
This continued for a few hours and the children and parents joined in with the fun.Loved every minute.

You all sound happy and positive despite coyotes Shocked and falling up the stairs ScaredCan't say much as I am in the dog house Sad Provider says we have used up most of our monthly megabites or some such crap. Of course it is my fault again despite the fact that in 12 months of being on here a couple of times a day it has never happened before. As he has retired, DH on computer loads, but of course nothing to do with him. ( fuming !! ) If I vanish for a few days I am not serving time for murder, just waiting for next months allocation of mega things to start or we get a better package.
DH still has back ache, now golf is a no no, his guitar group also, due to the fact they don't sing his kind of music. Running out of ideas. Don't really care anymore Winking
Won twice at bingo Nerdy £ 20.00 in total went on a little spree, YAY.

Will catch up when back on line. xShocked

first of all - Nihahi - thanks for posting that message from the moderators, very wonderful!

Dakota - yay, Boston! Have fun this evening with your hockey player and peacock!

Movie - glad you can move your arms now, hope you get that hair wash

Liefie - wow! Eating chocolate and still lost 2 lbs! Good for you.

Benny - loved reading about the coyote. We live right by Fish Creek Park ridge and have been visited by deer, porcupines, raccoons, skunks and coyotes. The sound they make in the valley just as the sun is setting is very unsettling. Enjoy your movie night! BTW - you are the only one I know who would apologize on Facebook about not painting the house trim - after the year you have had!

Edi - hope DH's back (and mood) improves quickly. I guess I should have dressed up to hand out treats. Two little guys just came to the door and asked what I was. I had just come home from work so still in work clothes. I answered and said I was a lady. They came back with, we know that but what is your costume supposed to be. I decided to play along and said that I thought I was scary enough without a costume, didn't they agree. They said they did agree and ran off with their candy.

    BOO!!!!

websister....too funny. I used to just LOVE the little ones. The tiny trick or treaters who were lifted up the steps by Mom/Dad, and just stood there with a stunned look on their face, but in the cutest costumes!!!!

Benny, given the drive it would be into Foothills (in possible winter conditions), and the reality that I would be so "unlike" the other participants in time lapse since treatment, I would prefer just getting the book, if at all possible. I would certainly be willing to pay for it, if that is an issue. Then I could pass it on to sbelizabeth when I'm finished with it. Hope you're having a fun time tonight....the coyotes will be tucked under the porches until all the chaos winds down!

edi....thanks for letting us know that bail money might not be needed quite yet....but sheesh.....don't envy you trying to "housebreak" hubby to behave in his retirement!!!

momof2....patience ain't easy, but try to be gentle with yourself. I agree though....we get almost frantic for a good shampoo and blowdry at some point!!!!! Just try to follow the surgeons guidelines as much as you can.

Okay...Halloween has past on the east coast. No little ones came to our door. DD made it home to Charleston safely and dressed up as a cat, then sat outside by the door and gave out candy. That way the door bell ringing did not cause the doggies to go nuts. If I had been daring enough I thought about wrapping myself in pink ribbon and go as Breast Cancer Awareness with bandages and drains ! Thankfully Pinktober is gone for another year and perhaps I can venture out without seeing PINK.

"Walk this way..." one of my favorite lines from Young Frankenstien. Benny hope you are having a nice evening and stay inside tonight...no coyotes .

Edi... Oh it would be a shame if our internet provider charged us for our usage/month. It was like that 12 or more years ago. But now we use the internet for everything. We do not have cable or satellite television...we only watch online, hulu, and netflix.

Movie...I saw some beautiful photos of Yachats that were taken this week. Rain or not....still would like to be in my little cottage on the coast. But I will get there in May!

So goodnight from Georgia...sleep well ladies.

Websister I hope you are recovered from your fall.......love your Halloween story!

We had exactly 8 kids show up for candy tonight.....:(....... Zenful, here in Oregon we do EVERYTHING in the rain.....even Halloween......silly to change it.....just make pantywaists out of the kids! don't they?

Sounds like Benny will be having fun tonight.......young Frankenstein is a hoot! :)

Edi, sounds like DH needs to retire from retirement! I really don't want to read about you from across the pond! Maybe he could learn to knit, or something....... :\

Nihahi, the best costume ever in our family was when DD #2 made a television set, and put her face inside it......I could never be that creative!

Mom.....your cottage in Yachats will be much more inviting in May....... :). Hope you get that shower and shampoo......it can sure make all the difference, can't it?

Well.....today is the 1 year anniversary of my LX......and the BC rollercoaster......this year has gone SO fast............

    Love you all!

Benny, Nosehill is famed for its coyotes, and you're only a couple of blocks away! It does surprise me to see so many around my area though, if returning home late at night.

I'm the party pooper this evening. I don't know. Hubby is at work and the kids at a party, so I turned off the lights and sat in the back room with the cats, watching Netflix!

The doorbell rang just once, about 5.30, and I didn't answer it.

Tell you the truth, I am so off sugar myself these days that I felt a bit hypocritical contemplating handing out candies to other people's kids. I wondered about "healthy snacks", but I didn't suppose they would thank me for that. I know every child gets literally a sackful of sugar treats, so they won't exactly go without if I don't join the fun!

Bah humbug! I'm full of aches and pains this evening too, think a warm bath and bed is in order!! :)
