Good morning hermits- there has been some great activity and posts here on the Hermits thread this weekend!
Good to see you here again Fire, and also we have some new folks here like Piper (who is a new buddy from the singles thread). I wish I lived in PA, so I could meet up with all of you there that will be getting together soon.
Ducky- those twins are just beautiful, and congrats to Grayson for surprising you with her progress. So glad you had a fun day together celebrating their birthday. You sound happy!
Oh and Kathyec dropped off this thread. I think she still comes to see what is going on though, so if you are out there Kath, we love you! She and I are fellow writers at heart.
Cami- I watched some of the red carpet stuff on QVC. Very pretty items, reasonably priced. Did you buy anything?
Waking up feeling SO much better today. Got about 9 1/2 hours of sleep last night with the help of my night time cold medicine. Oh and here is another cold/flu related supply you need to know about. Puffs with Lotion and Vicks! I found that at Walgreens too. They have really helped as well!
Looks like it rained all night here, and there are still clouds around, but the sun is already up and shining through. Grateful for the moisture that came through here, and hopefully more coming next weeks. I am going to work on a few things at home today, and then get out later for some groceries and a trip to the gym, if nothing else to sit in the steam room which will help my congestion clear more. I think I am going to live (aren't you glad?)
I will pop in tonight to check in with you on your assessment of the Oscars! I have not seen most of the movies either, I usually wait until they come to HBO or are out on DVD. I tried to check some that may be out yesterday on my HBO on Demand, but for some reason it is not working.

Jazzy...........Grew up with Vicks, and still use it.......so do my daughters with their kids.........LOL
Just sitting her waiting for the snow...........
Yes for my little Grayson that was huge........she even blew out her candle on her cupcake, which is also huge.........everyone shouted and clapped......another surprise which also surprised her..........she was so shocked at our response she clapped and screamed too.......it was funny.......and no one got it on camera..........or video........guess they never expected it........
Yes I too miss Kath, although we do keep in touch.......she added so much fun to this thread......I wish she was here.......glad FK is back, and there are a lot of great ladies on here,
-
Jazzy A steam sounds like u can really benefit by it.
Lately I don't buy to much but a couple of weeks ago my DD needed a new dress for her SIL's wedding and she bought one on sale at the store for 90.00 and we really didn't like it, so I went searching on line and found a gorgeous dress by a red carpet designer and I honestly can't remember his name--plus he's on some of these fashion things on TV. Well got it on sale for 30.00 and looked and is beautiful--everyone complimented her on her dress and it had some really nice style a little different to it and fit perfectly. I can't afford it like I used to but that's the way I shopped for presents for myself for jewelry from like Nolan Miller and the pieces were copied from the original and just gorgeous--u'd think they are real. My dd's, my sister and me have so much jewelry we could have a shop to sell it. Most of it not even worn. I loved shopping like that, sales and different things u never find in a store and well made. Those days are over but I still have so much--oh and make-up too, perfume, skin care all super expensive at the stores but on sale so reasonable. Boy was that fun. LOL
-
Snowing and 24*F when we ventured out for breakfast at a local Fire Department.
Looking forward to the Oscars!
-
Gotta love Maxine.........LOL
-
come on ducky,u can get Kath back...does anyone no why she left?there is always a reason, did I miss something?
I'm gonna call her..She was one of my rocks when Veggy passed.
Who mentioned Vicks?
I put it on my feet at nite(of course with sox) sleep with it and it does help the stuffed up nose
U gotta use it as often as possible especially where the air is dry
I WILL BE BACK
-
Fire- not sure all the reasons why she left, but I miss her too. She PM-ed me at one or two points. Maybe she found another thread that works better for her. I have tried a few others and then dropped off some because they don't seem as good a fit for me.
I think I am staying in today instead of going out. Have some heaviness in my right lung and just feeling like my body is staying "we are still working through this." Nothing I have to do today that I cannot do tomorrow around work. And yes, it was me saying Vicks!
Been in the closets putting things into bags for donation, and also some clothing going to consignment this week. Time to get some of the clutter out of this place! Purge baby, purge!
Oscars coming up soon!
-
FK.............putting the Vicks on your feet clears your head.............LMAO>>>>just kidding....I know what you mean........
OK..............I talk to Kath through PM, and also on a couple other threads................I know why she left, and so do others on here................her and I discussed it..............I will not say why, because I will get reported to the Mods.....and then I will have PM opportunities taken away and will get threatened with being banned from the website...........but go back and read........you will see when it happened.......
Kath is a wonderful friend, and a credit to Hermits, and she deserves to be here, but I guess she doesn't need the bullshit...............Hopefully you get to read this before it is reported and deleted......hugs to all my wonderful friend..................
-
I am now ready to watch the *Oscars Red Carpet* in less then 15 minutes.
Enjoy the evening!!!
-
well I went all the way back to see what happened to Kath
It looks like I was involved, shocking that while I was mourning a dear sistas death there was a lot of nonsense goin on with lots of deleated posts
I no it's old news and this thread moved on which is good
We lost not only one good sista( from death) but another one from nonsense
End of rant
-
Lesson learned...........
-
ducky-that's pure nonsense
I am not thankful for the difficult ppl in mylife cause there r none
I will not tolerate that
There r ppl on these damn threads that actually enjoy being difficult

Watching the red carpet review prior to the Oscars. Lots of pretty dresses.
If I were to do red carpet, I would do black with sequins! Maybe with a nice pair of dangley diamond or emerald earrings from Tiffany!
I figure I better have an outfit picked out, just in case I getasked to go some day (LOL!)

Teka- I though the same thing about Robin Roberts. Lord has that woman gone through so much. She looks well and also very fit. She is taking good care of herself.
No sign of GC, I wonder if he skipped it because he was not nominated? Or maybe he doesn't have a date?
-
Sally Field is wearing my dress. Lovely black sequin with cap sleeves! She looks lovely!

Wow Jazzy u do have big plans--the Oscars? Well those earrings will do it for you. I like Ellen D. and saw a lot of the fashion before to--some dresses where beautiful.
