I'm having a similar problem on the Grrrrr thread in the LE forum. On my iPad, it is mixing up my posts with musical's ...mine are attributed to her, and hers are attributed to me. Super weird.

Thanks for letting us know - we've fixed the formatting in that thread! Musical, you may want to go back in and edit your post to re-enter the link to the Weston A Price Foundation, since that was what had messed with the alignment of subsequent posts.

Thx Mods.  The formatting appers to be right now. Actually, that link was within  some excerpt text I copied and pasted, and I didn't manually enter it in as such. I'll go in and have a look at that  now.

Musical, we see this from time to time, where the link or picture at its source includes a bit of code that throws off the format. If you run into it again, just drop us a PM or post here, and we're happy to track it down.

Mods - it is happening again.  Typing a post and when I hit submit it takes me back to Login page (and I lose everything I've typed).  In this case, probably good Wink, though I would like to figure this problem out.

Kam170, we're sorry this happening, and we'll ask the tech team to take a look into this. To help them try to reproduce what you've experienced, can you let us know (here or in PM) your computer platform, operating system version, and browser info?

    Thanks!

    Mac OS X

Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

    Browser is Safari 5.1.9

    Is this enough?

I find that if I try to post more than two paragraphs on a regular thread, my message often disappears into cyberspace, and is gone forever.  If this happens on a PM, on the other hand, a copy of my post is retained and I can try again to send it.  I've seen many posts where the person complains, "I just wrote a lengthy post, but. . .. . "   Could you maybe adjust the site so the copy of the lost post remains until you can get this disappearance thing fixed?

We are sorry this happens and thanks so much for the information.  We have forwarded the issue to the tech team and they will look into it.

    Thanks

Hi Mods, there's a thread about hummingbirds in the "Growing Our Friendships" forum. When I'm logged in, and there is a new message in that thread, it appears in the "Active Topics" list, as expected. But for quite some time now, it always says there are 16 unread posts, even if there is actually only one. It seems to me there are a couple of other threads that also tell me the wrong number of unread posts. Obviously this is a very minor glitch, but it's weird and I wonder what causes it. I'm mentioning it more out of curiousity than anything else. Has anyone else reported this or is it just me?

For people who are getting kicked back to the login page when they try to submit a post, as a workaround you might try hitting "preview" instead of "submit". I frequently get kicked back to the login page, but if I use the "Back" button in my browser the text is usually still there, and I can copy it, then paste it into the box after I log in.

For me at least, I think the problem occurs when I log in to bco, open a thread in its own tab, go away from my computer until my session times out, come back and log in again, but try to reply in a tab that was created during the earlier session. I haven't tested it by deliberately creating that series of events, but it seems to me that is when it is happening.

Curveball, thanks for your comments. We have had that issue with the number of unread posts. Also, I think that you are absolutely correct that having to go back to your login page is a function of having left for some time. Let me discuss with our tech team, and get you clearer answers.

There's something really wrong with searching members' posts. I've searched a couple whom I read regularly and all of a sudden I'm getting posts that are a couple of hours old and then nothing between that and posts from 2008??? Everything in between isn't showing up doing a search.

Same here -- except none of my searches have even turned up hours-old posts. Searches yield posts through December 2008, and that's it.

leggo and AnnNYC, there is routine maintenance going on tonight, and the focus is particularly on the Search function. Unfortunately, there are some expected effects on search results, that may go on for up to another 12 hours.

For more info, here's one of the notices we posted earlier.

With about 3 million posts to deal with, along with some general performance tuning and upgrades, it's a long and detailed process that, after tonight's work, is designed to improve everyone's experience using the forums.

Please keep us posted if you see any oher problems and we'll be sure to report them to the team.

Hi Mods---I don't know if it's my computer and I did something stupid--I'm known for that cuz I'm not techy but I don't see any avatars anymore on any of my threads- is this just on mine?

I do see Avatars on many member's posts, but not on all. For example, do you have a photo typically, camillegal?

Actually I never put one up--wel I would never put one up of me or the whole BCO threads would cease to exist (sp) but I know the others have and I just don't see any. That's all right cuz I'd never figure out what I did wrong to fix it and by mistake I could possible fix it by accident. Thank you for getting back to me tho.

camillegal, one little thing that's easy to do by accident...

When you go to your My Profile at the top of every page, and then click the Settings tab on the right, scroll down part way, and you'll see an option to Show Avatars of other Members. If it's marked as Off, you'll see an option to turn it on, which should bring back missing avatars.

And we'd love to see your avatar too! It doesn't have to be your picture, as you can tell by all the pics of cats and dogs, graphics, flowers, etc.!

The search hasn't started working properly. Let us know when it will be fixed. If it can't be fixed, it will be a huge problem for me as the Picture Forum administrator. Without being able to search for a certain someone's posts, I will never know what they've poted and if they're legit.

Sure! We´re working on that. Full search results should be restored within the next few hours. We apologize for the inconvenience.

You can also find a certain member´s posts by clicking on Member List on the left column and typing in the member´s user name. Under the member profile you can see her/his recent posts.

On people's profile page, what you could read is the first few words of their posts. It wasn't like that before the forum design changed a couple of years ago but since the change, it has not been something that you could learn their personality/history/experience from. I will just have to wait until the search is fixed.
