Teka, are you getting an error message when you try to update your profile? What part of the profile are you trying to update? If you'd rather send us a PM, we can help you in messages too.

Biography. I only want to delete (Long-Term Side Effects). No error message.
-
I didn't push (save), and should learn to follow directions.
Thank You!!
-
Yay! We're glad it worked for you, Teka.

Okay, 1 more question! I changed (Diagnoses) to private, but still see it at the bottom of prior posts. Does everyone else?
-
Not on last post, but on all other prior posts. How do I know if it isn't still public on profile page.
-
Teka, did you change the Privacy setting for your diagnosis in both spots? From the Diagnosis tab of My Profile, and also from the Settings tab, also in My Profile?
-
Teka,
The diagnosis information will only be changed for future posts. Prior post will be the same as they were at the time you originally posted them. You can get the diagnosis information off of past posts only by editing each one to remove the diagnosis info line.
-
OK, Thank You!

I've been trying to post an answer in a thread in the DCIS forum for the past couple of hours. I keep getting a system error message. I am able to post in other forums. What's going on?
Edited to add: Here's the message:
Page Error
The Discussion Boards experienced a technical issue from which it could not recover.
System administrators have been notified of this problem and will work hard to make sure it does not happen again.
Meanwhile, you may be able to continue to use other areas of our site.
We apologize for the inconvenience.

I am sorry this is occuring - Can you tell me in which thread in the forum it is occuring?
-
I just tried again (about my 10th try) and it finally went through and posted. It was the "2nd opinion" thread. Not sure if anything was done to fix it or if it resolved itself, but in any case, Thanks!

Incredibly annoyed, angry and frustrated.
Now there is 'shop' button on the upper right side when I log in?
Are you kidding me? Over on the LE forum you recently told Lymphedivas that he can no longer post because he's promoting his product and yet now you have a 'shop' button to promote bco? I find it incredibly hypocritical!
There are so few who help, acknowledge the needs of Lymphedema and you completely shut him down but you have 'shop' on the site that I cannot get away from?
Annoying at best, hypocritical at worst.
FRUSTRATED! -
Dawne-Hope, thank you for giving us your reaction.

I understand your desire to protect BCO members from sales people, there are an incredible number of quacks out there promoting all sorts of cures & fixes. Someone had suggested a vendor thread. Couldn't it have an "at your own risk" warning? Even if the vendors only provided a link to their own site? It's frustrating because we went from a much needed product to production within a month. Those of us with LE are used to being ignored, given the run around, or being overcharged by garment manufacturers. It was wonderful to have someone listen and see action in real time.
Unfortunately, what might happen in the future is we discuss and continue to get nowhere. Hopefully, vendors could monitor but then all the discussion has to be done secretly, which stifles to collaborative process. The one thing I appreciate about BCO is the openness to discuss products and their effectiveness and medical recommendations from others with similar issues. -
We'll discuss this suggestion!
Thanks,The Mods

Please do!

I am having a difficult getting into the chat rooms. I have attempted to download the latest java info to get in and still can't find the link to get into the chat room. Can anybody help??
-
Hi Mods, just a quick question. Is there a way to enter the chat rooms using a smart phone? I tend to use my phone much more than the computer as it is far more convenient. I have tried to look but cannot find a link. Any ideas?
Thanks. -
Jess, sometimes this issue is browser-specific (for example, I can't get to chat using Firefox, but I can with Safari). If you're using a computer (rather than a phone or tablet), and have access to an alternate browser, you may wish to give that a try.
Chrissy, because the chat rooms use Java they aren't accessible to most mobile devices.
We're sorry you're having problems getting to chat!
-
Haven't read all the way through this thread (and what a great idea to have a central place to post issues, by the way), so apologies if these have already come up . . . but I just now added treatment info to my profile, and ran into a couple of issues:
- Hormonal treatments. The current set-up only allows you to enter one drug. Many of us started out on tamoxifen and then switched to an AI (or have been on multiple AIs). Can this be fixed so we can enter a full history?
- Dates. The current set-up requires you to enter mm/dd/yyyy. I honestly can't remember the exact dates I started/ended chemo, just the month/year. Could this be changed so that people can just enter a month/year, or even just the year?
Thanks!!

Just added these to our list, Linda. Thanks for your feedback!

I used to chat back in 2003 and 2004 but the past couple of years I have not been able to get into the chat rooms. Are they not up anymore? I would like to reconnect with some of the ladies I used to chat with.

Hi Jewel,
We just responded to your PM. Let us know if you have any issues!
--The Mods -
Hi. I was PM-ing with someone on this site, and the last few times I have tried to reply, I have received a message that my account has a limit on the number of PMs I can send each day. I haven't successfully sent any today (Sunday) and I am still getting that message.
-
April,
I seem to remember that there were some pm'ing limits on new members ( you just joined, right ?). Hopefully the mods will be along soon to clarify that. Welcome!
Caryn -
aprilmommy, extrnxgrl is exactly right. There is a limit on how many private messages new members can send. The limit was instituted to stop spammers who were registering and then immediately using PMs to spam members with messages.

That makes sense. It's too bad spammers have to be everywhere.
Someone was sharing some very valuable information with me and I wrote back to thank them and it wouldn't go through. I wanted to express my appreciation for her taking the time to discuss my concerns.
So how long do you have to be a member because the limit is lifted? Or, is it based on a post count?
