This is kind of interesting. I tried to upload a picture from my Samsung tablet. Choose a file, went to my gallery, picked a picture, a blue & white bar scrolled across the page for awhile and the picture appeared and I could have inserted it. When I did the did the exact same process on my phone; I picked a picture from it's gallery, the blue/white bar scrolled across the page and then an 'Upload Failed" message appeared (I tried it several times with the same result). -
That didn't help.. Incompatibility wasn't on. Tried turning it on, no change so turned it off again. Still no tool bar, still no way to copy and paste.
-
ruthbru, that's definitely interesting! Thanks for letting us know - that's one for the tech team too. We know there are file size limits, and need to know what they are, but that shouldn't affect the same image on different devices...hmm, unless you took the photo using your phone, and the file size was smaller in the gallery on your tablet?
chabba, can you let us know what platform, device and browser you're using? There's no way to copy/paste images (even with a tool bar), but we'd like to try to figure out where your tool bar has gone! -
Spoke too soon, now I can't get the picture from the Samsung either....just the scrolling bar & then nothing, not even an 'upload failed'. Gee, I loved updates! Hahahaha. I would put an emotion here if they were available -
Well phooey, ruthbru! How big is the picture you're trying to upload? I tested with a pic that was 1.6 MB, and although it was slow (and could slow down loading the page for others), it would upload. Another member got an error when she was trying to upload something over 2 MB. Here's a disappointed emoticon for you! -
I assume by device you mean my desk top. It is an older one that I got about the time Vista first came out, operating on XP. I browser means how I access the internet, that is Microsoft.
-
And please, I need spell Check!
-
chabba, spell check is still there! It's just different. You probably haven't made any typos or spellos to see it in action. Here's how it looks with a deliberate typo.
The wavy red line identifies a possible error. Right click and it gives you some options to correct it. -

I don't have the toolbar here in this reply box.
And each page I view loads but says:
>Done, but with errors on page.<
It was like this last night, too.
Guess the kinks need to worked out??
ETA: TEST >>Let's see if I can get paragraphs. Didn't up above in this post or last night.
TEST RESULT: >> Nope!!

Valjean, can you let us know your platform (PC or Mac), computer or device type, operating system (such as Vista, Windows 7, OSX.8), and browser and its version (Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer)? We'd like to identify configurations that aren't working for everyone, thanks! -
PC ... HP ... Vista ... Windows 8 ... Internet Explorer
-
Thanks Mods! Just tried it and voila! it worked! The only thing was that I had to do it twice as the first time I hit submit it logged me out........mmmmm........maybe the site was trying to tell me something........lol. -
Pshaw, Chrissy! Wouldn't want to lose the beautiful photos you posted. -
Thanks Mods! -
Okay Mods...Can you please walk me through this? I am using AOL.... I always used to post pictures by going to my online Picassa program, by using copy and paste.
Same by going to Google Images, and hitting copy and then paste.
But now I have tried countless times, and sometimes they show up while I am writing a post, but most of the time, when I hit submit...there is nothing! I get something about "problem with my submission"...Am I the only one having this trouble? Thanks... -
Please help! I've always posted on my kindle or phone, now I can no longer post with either. A task bar appeared a few days ago, something I had never had before. When I try to respond to a post the box turns yellow and there is no keyboard. I can put in a subject for a private message but no message.
-
gramwe,
Sorry you are having these problems. What phone and operating system are you using?
Thanks -
Okay, this is what I get, everytime I try and post (submit) any type of picture, from anywhere.... I am using AOL, and whese I misspel a word, it does not corect.... obveeusly. The picture appears when I am posting, but when I hit submit, it is gone.
"There were problems with this submission. Please correct the following information:- Please enter content in the body of your Post." (In a pink box.)

Hummm Chevyboy
In terms of spell check
spell check is still there just different. When you have a spelling mistake a wavy red line under the misspelled word identifies a possible error. Right click and it gives you some options to correct it.
In terms of the other problems- we are composing a list to send to the technical team Monday- Can you tell us your computer (PC or Mac), operating system and browser? -
There is even an auto spell check for some words. I like that! -
Okay, I read that a wavy red line is supposed to show on a misspelled word, and then you could R. click that, and it is supposed to give options, just like I have when I compose a letter or email on AOL! But I don't get that here at all... jist lik this, no wavey red liine ANYwhere!...
I am using a Dell desk-top, and AOL.... Same thing happens when I try Firefox!
This never happened before, and I could post all the pictures I wanted... but no more.... Thanks for looking into it! -
HI Mods,
I just wrote you about the problem with a poster taking up two spaces......and so therefore, I can't read or post. I just noted that a new post came in, but I am unable to see it. This post of someone else's that took up the ??two spaces......just somehow attached to my screen......and nothing happens. It is very strange.
I have the HP with windows 7 through IE.

Mods .. I'm having the same problem on the Yes/No thread that Jackie is having. It's a mess ... can you fix it?
Thanks,
Bren -
We're trying to fix it, sorry for the inconveniences... -
So this MUST be a conspiracy! Ha!
Maybe if all else fails, we can go back to the way it was? Or at least some of us, if that is possible?
When I compose an email on AOL, it DOES have the feature, with the red underline.... but nothing here... no pictures, no nothin'..... I don't understand why everyone ELSE can submit pictures, and I can't. I've also tried all THEIR suggestions. -
Hi Mods, The only way I can enter text reliably is using the very basics, that is, with ALL scripts disabled. If I then enable BCO (scripts) I get the toolbar and limited data entry capabilities. There's a lot of glitchiness but the worst is when I try to copy and paste. Once I do that the cursor acts all weird like if I click on an option on the toolbar the cursor goes to the end of the line and either stays there or if I manage to place it else where it reverts back there. If I try to type anything it disappears altogether. The spacebar won't work either.

Dear Mods.... At least I am not having the SAME problems as some of these gals, but mine are just as nerve wracking...
I can connect modems to computers, to phones, program the VCR AND the DVD player, reset the Televisions WITH their own modems, AND I can usually figure out how to fix my computer when it gets screwed up, but I canNOT for the life of me make any of this "new" tool-bar work on THIS computer for ME.
Any suggestions would be helpful..... and greatly appreciated.
And another thing....Where are my Smileys? How is a girl supposed to show any kind of emotion? -
Exactly! (image a question face, mad face, and crying face) -
Mods,
My tool bar took a hike when RL's post ( not removed ) tried to come in and it is not back. I miss it. Can you find out who took it and give it back.
A million thanks.
Jackie
p.s. perhaps a part of that issue....my font is not the same right now either,
