Hi Mods,For the last year and a half or so, I've been browsing bco on a PC. I've recently moved and am now using my own computer, which is a Mac. On the PC, it was possible to switch my signature on or off for each individual comment, but on the Mac I don't see the checkbox for this. I was using Firefox on the PC and that's what I have on the Mac, too. The signature doesn't show up when I preview my comment, or if I submit it and then click "edit post", so I can't delete it manually either. Is there a workaround?

curveball, this was a change made as part of some upgrades made recently; now if you have selected in your My Profile to have your Signature public, it will always appear.

Mods:  I wish we could go back to opting for no signature on a post by post basis.  If you're in a back & forth dialog it's really nice to get rid of all that excess verbiage.  Any way to do it manually?  I hate to remove permanently from my profile.

MinusTwo, diagnoses and treatments marked as public are displayed to other users on your profile page and are included in your post signature. You can manually change it to Private so it won't show up.

I also strongly request that the signature on/off feature be put back the way it was before! Changing from public to private via the profile page is not as convenient as a simple checkbox that can turn the signature on or off for an individual comment. At least make the signature show up in the preview and/or editing boxes so it can be removed manually from a single comment if desired.

Having a problem pasting Internet links lately. Some will show up live and clickable but most will not.



I'm using an ipad.

Chickadee, we know that the post formatting tools, such as the tool for inserting links, don't work well with iPads. Were you able to paste them previously, other than by using the Insert/Edit Link tool?

Re reading and I think I need to clarify. I tap the ipad so the "paste" option comes up. The tools of the website don't appear so I am copy/paste mode

I may have a little technical glitch. After I've read all the new posts under My Favorite Topics, I still have a "1" showing.  It's been that way for a few days, and I'm not sure how to clear it.   Thanks!    Deanna

Deanna, we've been looking for a solution for this, with no luck so far, and we may need to refer it to the tech team for insights. Have you tried logging out of BCO and then logging in again? Or, if that doesn't do it, perhaps removing all your My Favorite Topics choices, and then adding them again?

This came up for some members (including you!) when the current site design was launched back in May 2012, and was fixed then. Still checking!

chrissyb, did you try clicking on the "insert image" icon. It provides the option to upload a link or choose a file (jpeg for example).

Tried that and all it did was hang for about three minutes before I clicked out of it. I didn't see any option listed for resize.

I just used that with the link button and it worked but still no resize option.

just found another glitch: on the "New Want (sic) to Play a Word Game": I posted using the bold (for the word dried) it showed as bold on the input. After it was submitted, didn't appear in bold. Edited, it was bold again, after submit it wasn't. Strange. Just to test this theory: on this post above "another glitch" in bold, this time as well. Let's see how it appears after I submit.

* Do, do, do do (Twilight Zone music), it works correctly on this post, why was it different on the other one? Baffling.

And, just asking because it bugs me, can you change "New WANT" to "New WAY"? No big deal really, it just bugs me. Thanks!

2nd_time_around, it's always okay to PM the Mods - I was happy to reply last night too!

chabba, here's a solution that another member found to the lack of tool bar yesterday. She said (thanks suzie!) to turn off Compatability View, which was found under the Tools menu for iE. Please let us know if that works (or doesn't work).

chrissyb, the resize thing was something we'd flagged as being absent in testing, and it was added yesterday. Here's how to do it:

Just uploaded this cute bunny, and if I want to make it smaller/larger, I can click on its image (while writing the post OR afterwards by first clicking Edit, beside Delete). Then I'll see this:

Note the dotted line around the pic, and the little black square at its lower right? Just click and hold the black square so you can drag it to the left and up to shrink the picture to your choice of size.

Have also noticed turn-around speed much quicker! Not getting the error message about submitting posts in rapid succession, or is that because it's the weekend and the boards are quieter?
