Hi ladies, just dropping in to see what condition your condition is in. In June we were about to surgically remove half of my sternum and a malignant node in my abdomen. That changed when they decided to "watch" a spot on my clavicle. So now, if I'm lucky, I'll get the surgery. hahahahahahah! That still cracks me up. Anyway, it looks like no trials are available for me and chemos haven't worked so surgery is my best option unless the clavicle is involved. Then they will have to make a new plan. Anyway, I'm feeling pretty good and danged happy about it.

Love you guys. Sorry that I'm too lazy to log in most days.

Shep - how did that guy get my kitty??

So Phylliontheporchwiththepaintballgun! WTH are you talking about??? WHAT sternum? You mean in you? And so what is wrong with your clavicle? Is that even a word? I think you are making all this stuff up....

Is the sterniminum connected to your cliviosis? You can't be serious!

And you going on trial? For that kid you shot off his bicycle with your paint-ball gun? I KNEW they would catch up with you! Man, I take my eyes off you for one second and you go all nuts!

So you are serious about what you said? No, I don't want to read that.... Can't we just go on like you are all fine and still as cute as you ever were? I'll make you a chocolate coke.... you bring the hors-doovers, and we'll meet on your porch..... even with your ankle monitor....

You didn't break your ANKLE, did you?

Thank goodness Lookie everything is fine! Have you decided what type of reconstruction you'll have? Implant, TRAM Flap?

Smaarty - It's hard to believe it's been seven mos. since Evie was born. Still cute as a bug.

A 100 degrees seems awful. Is it humid there in Sacramento too? It was in the high 80's and very humid here today. The heat made me nauseous. The sun has gone down and it is much cooler here now. I've opened the windows and left the fans going.

JazzyGirl - Glad to hear you are enjoying the hotsprings. Are you feeling good and relaxed?

Sas - Where are you? I miss reading your posts. Been buying a glass lately? Or are you totally engrossed in the political stuff?

Hey Loverly - How is it going with you?

Wenchie - How often and for how long will you have to go for chemo treatments? Are the drains out? Are your mowers missing you?

Hey Shep - How is that foot of yours and has there been any progress towards getting that ramp built? Are Marti & Pris doing ok with the summer heat?

I saw a cute story on yahoo today. It was about a beautiful charcoal gray pitbull puppy that was born without back paws. His name is Justin, and is being fostered for now. The video showed him being taken to the vet in a stroller to be fitted for his first pair of booties that will allow him to walk better on his own. So precious.

Susan - What kind of puppy did you get from your Mother/Brother? Looking forward to pics when you get a chance.

I got to speak with my Sister for 2.5 hours last night. It was great. She told me that she had done a memorial album when my Father died, so she is going to make a copy for me, plus add copies of the newspaper articles about the accomplishments he made during his time as a city councilman in his home town. I've only ever seen one picture of him and that was of him and my Mother on their wedding day. Apparently he was 6' 3" tall. Apparently 4 of the 5 siblings were tall, but one of his sisters' was only 5' 3". My sister is 5' 10". Interesting to learn these little details about my family.

    Good night to you all!

How am I, JunieB? Still trying hard to clear the images off my mind. Traumatized not once, but twice. Can't believe Forward is in it too! ShepK has strange taste in men.

How is the edema? Still SOB?

Ms. Chevy, oh yeah the corporal punishments when we were children...I think I took the most beating because I was the eldest. Had to set an example for my younger siblings.

I am really drowsy and sore. Not a good combo. Signing off.

Loverly- getting there. I have the entire week off from work, and lots of thing to do, but glad to have a break from work. It has been a rough summer on this contract.

I start my six month follow up process this week and heading in for mammo and ultrasound this am, and finish up on Friday with BS and MO visits. Will keep you posted on anything from that, and fingers crossed all is well.

    Good morning,

Jazzyjunebug, I'm doing great, thank you for asking. I was one of the very lucky ones and had my drains removed 8 days post-op. I never really had more than 60ccs total from day one. The nurses at the hospital said they'd be surprised if I made it to my PS's cutoff at day 10, and they were right! I did have more leaking on my left side after the drain was removed but it soon dried up also. My chemo is for about 7 or 8 months. I start with AC every 21 days X 4 cycles then on to Taxol (?) once a week for 12 weeks.

Smaarty, what a cutie Evie is. I just want to kiss her cheeks! The pillows you sent me have been a life saver! With this hot weather and our AC being out they've come in handy keeping my arms out to the side so I don't get all yucky there. I just sit them on my hip and rest my elbow on them and it keeps any skin on skin contact down to a minimum. Thank you again!

    Until next time... Tata

chevygirl, yes, I am all fine and cute as ever! Chocolate cokes are never wrong though. Whoops, gotta go, I'm entertaining a rock band tonight and gotta rest up. Plus, I have to clean my paintball gun. Those Pokemon kids are fun to shoot at! Oh, yeah, my ankle is fine. The monitor doesn't care what I do at home. Hahahaha

Sensi and Ms. S, I hope you ladies stay cool.

Forward, that poor dog probably just had a walk in our neighborhood.

It is so hot here that even the birds are quiet. I am glad I did my cleaning this morning. You are right ,Susan. The heat can wear you out. I don't feel like doing anything, but sitting here sipping cherry/ginger/tumeric tonic mixed with ice cool sparkling mineral water listening to Michael Dulin playing Satie's Gymnopédie on Pandora. Even Mitzy agrees with me doing nothing:image

Jazzy, I love that you make time to pamper and enjoy yourself with friends. I would love to meet you one of these days. Hey, maybe you could join us on the Baltic Cruise in June of 2017, Lord's willing. Actually, I would love to meet all the ladies here. Nice to have time off to deflate from work. Sorry you had a rough summer with your contract. Is it the people or the work itself? After Obamacare became active in our county, more than 90% of our medically indigent patients have some sort of coverage which I am very happy for them. I really hope that these patients get the care they need. On the down side, twenty of my co-workers lost their jobs. It was hard for everyone, not just us who didn't get the pink slip. We were like family. Most of us get along. Now that is not easy to find if you have that many people under the same roof working side by side for 8 hours. We were blessed. There are only six of us left.We have been trying to get the contract with Medi-Cal (which might help us stay afloat) for nearly two years It is terribly slow how government works? I told my DH, if county shuts us down, I want to retire. I told him also that I cantake better care of him if I stay home full time.

Lori, best wishes on your treatment. May you have minimal side effects and maximal cancer's butt kicking.

Ms. Graham, oh my dear!!!! Those poor kids walking around with their eyes glueing to their phones playing Pokemon have no ideas what hit them in the head. I could see you hiding behind the bushes waiting for your next target. Hahah

Ms. S, we are still on this Friday, yeah? Sensi, I hope you can join us. We can't be Siskel and Ebert by ourselves. We will have Thai for lunch. I have MO appt in the morning, so will be free after 10:00. Btw, I love those cheeks of Evie. So sad for you they are moving.

Right now, it is only 92, and overcast! I've been hoeing in one of my little gardens, and spray painting little cement angels & things! I'll take a picture when it is finished. At least it is better than 100, like it's been! The mornings are around 65.... I LOVE that!

happy to here most are feeling better.

Philllllyyyyyyy, hope they find a treatment for you besides that coke stuff from chevy that I have never heard off :)

Lover..I feel,I need to come give you a hug

I had planned to get away with a friend for an overnighter this Monday, Tuesday. Last minute her mom had to go to the hospitol. Claire went up mondaybwith me, lake Geneva Wisconsin , only an hour from me. She dropped me off, thinking my friend would prob make it up late. She couldn't leave her mom, and she stayed where she should of. Gave me a whole day to myself sitting by the beach, watching everything and doing devotions and journaling and reading my bible. It was very much needed, and restored my soul. Hubby ipicked me up and we had dinner there than came home. Nice day

Hubby got a new job. Praise God. Lost his job 6 years ago and has been working 2 jobs since. Now he has one good job. It's been hard on his pride since he couldn't make all the bills without my help working . Hope this eases his anxiety and worry.

Got chemo tomorrow, so IF I get the puppy. It won't be till sunday or Monday. I hope my brother makes the right decision. Mom can't take care of herself let alone a puppy. Puppy only goes potty in the house. I love training dogs, so it doesn't worry me. And if I am to tired to care for a puppy, I will get it well trained, and I know a bunch of people who would give her a great home.

    Hang in there everyone

    Night night

I still like our heat better. Very dry. Not suppose to get under a 100 until Friday. Getting new pics of Evie. Hopefully tomorrow. Got to bug her grandma. We had dinner with them tonight. They'll be back late September for step GD's wedding.

    Elena sure is getting big

Wenchie - To save you from typing so much you can just type JunieB for me. Plus I like it better than my JazzyJuneBug. Too long. I am glad your drains are out and hope your treatments aren't too hard on you. How long until your A/C gets repaired? Do you have any re-freezable ice packs to use until A/C is fixed?

Loverly - That heat is just too much! I'm glad you and Mitzy are of like minds on the laying low idea. Edema is still an issue, so I'm still taking the Lasix. But the SOB is better since I've been on the Lasix.

Temp here yesterday was in high 80's to low 90's and humid. It made me nauseous. It was in low 80's today w/o humidity and it was more tolerable. Sorry to hear about the lay-offs at your work-site.

Hope you and Smaarty enjoy your lunch on Friday.

Susan - Hope your treatment goes well tomorrow. Glad you were able to spend some alone time on the beach and do your bible study. What breed is the puppy?

Chevy - I pulled some weeds this evening and by the time I got inside to take a shower I saw 26 mosquito bites on my back, shoulders and caboose. Where to scratch first? Looking forward to the pics of the angels you painted.

Jazzygirl - Enjoy the rest of your week off.

Well I'm off to bed now myself. Sleep well everyone!

Hi girls! Susan.... See, you have to fix yourself up a chocolate coke whilst relaxing. I remember getting one from a soda fountain in down-town Denver after my dance class... I was about 13, and rode the bus by myself! Wouldn't do it anymore... Ha! The cokes were in a little black plastic holder, that held a white cone-shape cup, and the soda-jerk would fill it with coke & ice, and chocolate syrup... And my Mom would have given me a nickle for this treat!

Enjoying a sweet treat at a Woolworth & Kreske's soda fountain counter:

JazzBug... No mosquito's here yet! You have to spray yourself with something, if it is that bad! You can ALSO burn some sage, in the area you are working in... Neighbors will think you are smoking Pot, but the "smell" keeps bugs away... We used to pick sage when up fishing, and then tie it in little bundles, and let it dry... I LOVE that smell... reminds me of the mountains.

Hi ladies- enjoying my time away from the client site and getting lots done, but also enjoying more downtime. My imaging was good yesterday, nothing new there and always a big WHEW when that part is over. On to the BS and MO apts on Friday and hoping all is well there (BS visit is usually just a second review of the films, MO apt is more). Will let you know how it all turns out.

Got a new haircut yesterday to get the hair off my neck in this hot, hot summer. Feels great!

    Evie is soooooo cute

Have a good lunch ladies...post pics please

The puppy is part havanese, and King spaniel something, and Bichon . Looks exactly like a havanese now.

Jazzygirl, I love your hair cut! I'm thinking of getting a shorter wig for this heat and a longer one for the fall. Terry at the Alcott Center said I could come in and have my head shaved and getfitted for a wig when the time comes. I told her I couldn't do that. I can't take that treat away from my hubby. He'd like to get started early! I don't think so!
