Feline, Zills is probably just getting warm at 27-29C. We would think it was pretty hot, but we don't start dying of heatstroke until it's a little bit higher. We would have cooling centers if it got as hot as in Peppermint's town. The majority of people here don't have air conditioning, so being too hot is a real posibility.

Lookie your porch looks very inviting.

Feline, Here's hoping you don't melt over there! Are there any pools you can go and float in? If not, go for a snow cone.

Loverly, That verse you posted is so very true.

Loverly & Holeinone - About 9 years ago, after my umpteenth stress fracture of my feet and tibias, my PCP finally checked my Vit. D level and it was 10. I went to an endocrinologist for that & thyroid issues. He started me on 50,000 IU's of Vit. D2 twice a week, but my count never got above 39. I have taken nexium, and now omeprazole for my stomach for a number of years. Both can interfere with the amount of vitamins that are absorbed through the intestine, so about 6 months ago I on my own, I added 6 sprays per day on the other 5 days a week of Dr. Mercola's Vit. D3 spray. My last bloodwork for Vit. D showed my count at 54.8. Quite an improvement. The D2 is a synthetic form and the D3 is the natural form. I tried just the D3 alone, but it didn't help, so that is why I decided to do both.

Patty, hope you had a restful nap.

I didn't get home from Portland until nearly 9:00 p.m. this evening. It was quite humid and sticky here today. In the past I've always taken the city bus from the hospital back to the Amtrak station. The city bus only goes to within 6-7 blocks of the Amtrak station and I've always walked it. Well today another rider on the bus told me to get off at a particular street and then get on the Max train. It's a train that runs allover the city and outlying areas. The Max comes within one block of the Amtrak Station. Go figure!

Anyway appt. went well and I even gave my doctor a hug to thank him for fixing my hip so I have no more pain. Don't need to go see him until next April now, since it's healing so well.

Shep & Holeinone I sure hope your day went well today!

Well my pillow is calling and I am going to give in. Goodnight to you all and pleasant dreams too.

So happy to see the picture of Zills and Feelingfeline. Both of you are very lovely and how nice to be able to meet. I hope you had a lovely visit. Safe travels to Zills on your way home.

We are 88 to 90F/31-32C all this week. It's warm enough, until the humidity makes it worse. Poor puppy is just melting, like feline. But they're both cute!

Hi, Mominator, nice to see you here again.

Zill, I am jealous you get to meet Feline. Funny how my imaginations of how people look like never match. You have a kind face just like Feline.

JunieB, thanks for the info on the vit D. I can't seem to get my D above 40 because I keep forgetting to take it on a regular basis. You would think a simple thing like that shouldn't be that hard. Anyway, it's so good to hear that your surgery was a success. How is your energy level now that you are back on the Ibrance? Are you saying that you walk about 5-6 blocks every time you need to transfer from the Amtrak to the bus? Wow!

Ms. Sas, how is the skin healing? Did you give in and go see a doctor? Why are people in the medical field the worst patients?

Patty and Mommy, we will get the heat back this weekends. It will be in the 100's again. I'm not cooking. The kids can eat rabbit food aka salads. DH is not here so it is much easier to prepare meals. Don't have to worry about cooking meat. Yay!!

Ms. S, did you help teach quilting on this trip?

Sensi, thinking about you and hoping you are at peace with your decision.

ShepK and Hiho, hope your appointment yesterday was not too bad.

Took Mitzy for a walk this morning and let her run on the grass. It's a treat for her as I seldom let her. Of course the girl couldn't resist rubbing her face on the stinky spot on grass. So gross. Had to give her a bath, which she hates, afterwards. So now she and I are exhausted, but she gets to take a nap in her crate while I still have the dirty floors and bathroom to clean. Hmm....who is the Master?

oh my gosh I am so far behind. Jazzjunebug, we have the same mother...lol. Went back to a counselor today o I could vent away. Wanted to know three adjectives to describe mom and brother...only one came to mind. Ass. She laughed. I told her I need permission from a licensed person to create as much distance as possible. My mom didn't sell or leave her house to a friend. But 2 weeks after I got rediagnosed she sold her house to my brother for $10.00, and the document states, not to be contested by any family member. Brother has never married, and has always lived with mom. As a child I would always say......I must have been adopted...lol but we all look alike. I think it's hard to give ourselves permission to take care of ourselves and set strong boundaries. I am doing it this time. With the counsellors help, my goal is to set myself free and be with those I truly love and they love me back.

Peace and love and fun for all of us. That is my prayer. And we can do it!!!

There are soooooo many great people in the world, I choose them to be my main focus from now on. Life is to much fun to allow people to drag us down.

    Ok....done with my soapbox

    Holeinone, how are you doing?

    Patty p, pain any better?

Hi sheps, hope all is going smoothly for you

    Hi chevster

    Mammaray, how's the head feeling??

    Hi lover

Ahhhh, I wish I could remember everyone to respond properly...sorry guys. I promise to take notes and do better.

Going to play with Elena tomorrow. Yeah me!!!

    Night night

Hey there Chance, you handsome boy!

Yeah Susan, Elena time! Do you think there is a special place for mothers like ours?

After all the walking yesterday my right leg was really throbbing. Took some Vicodin for the trip home on the bus. Got home at 9:00 p.m. and went to bed about 12 a.m. Woke up at about 3:30 a.m with lots of pain in the muscles that were cut for surgery and my rib cage also was hurting. Obviously I overestimated my readiness to go hiking all over town. Gotta be more careful so I can heal better. Had planned on starting back at volunteering this Friday, but have rethought that. I need more time. Somehow 6 weeks seemed like a reasonable amount of time to heal. WRONG!

Went to see Ghostbusters today and it was good. Found out today that the local Regal Cinemas offer free movie passes to the assistant of any disabled person. 2 for 1, Pretty cool!

Nothing else of note to share tonight, so I'll just say goodnight for now.

Aww Sensi, to b at the beginning of the fork without the necessary informations to help you make a decision is a tough spot to be in. I'm sorry you have to wait until next week. Hope work and Chance are keeping your mind busy.

Susan, the Iron Lady who can walk 5 and bike 17 miles while doing chemo, hope you have a blast with Elena tomorrow.

    JunieB, ouchie!

Lorie, have not heard from you. Hope everything is ok.

lover, the iron lady is hurting today......i forget sometimes that I have issues......and I won't get into all of them...lol

3 days of painting my cousins condo. 8 hours each day. We got 2 rooms done. I am a good painter...love cutting a room. Only 2 rooms done. Cool, condo. This one room has 2 huge Windows, 8 different walls, 4 doors and a bathroom attached. You have to love cutting a room if you tackle that. And she wanted 3 walls one color, the others a different, the trim different. Flat on bathroom walls and eggshell on bathroom trim, but same color...I begged her to do all semi gloss so no cutting. No such luck, cut the bathroom too. I am pooped. Pain meds today for sure. Still got backs of 2 of the doors to put second coat on. My lapping briush is hung up and retired for r now. ha ha. Kinda Wierd that I am looking forward to chemo week so I can sleep!

I knew it! She likes hairy chest and doesn't want to admit it.

Hi Susan, don't we all have issues we wish that by keeping busy, our problems would magically disappear. I would love to have you as my cousin.

Mommy, aww. You both are so good to each other. That's how it should be, but unfortunately not always the case in all marriages.

Patty, I guess having boost of energy can be a problem if they come at the wrong time. It can also be a drawback if you are trying to take advantage of the valued energy and do more than you should.

Hi Everyone continuing to be flaky

Mags and I had a longggggggggggggg wine tasting phone call Saturday and solved all the world problems.

Had a chat with a gal from Alberta on Sat. about diverticulitis. Stupid asinine Canadian medicine didn't even come close to treating her properly and now she's in serious trouble. Keep her in your prayers please.

Shep. yoga_girl did a thing about Vitamin D a while back.. Here's a link to her storage thread.

I thought I'd drop this here. I asked Yoga_girl to do a search. You know I'm flaky when I'm not up to searching. I'm not into using lot's of supplements, but this was just too coincidental for Selenium and zinc.

On the D I take 10,000 u a day, but I miss some days. Last level was 89.

Hello Yoga, When I had thyroid cancer(TC) after BC , my research said to take Selenium and zinc. It was confirmed by the BigWig doc at Moffitt NCCN in Fl. The dose was Selenium 200mcg & Zinc 50 mg./day. This was applicable to normal thyroid, thyroid dysfunction, and post thyroidectomy.

Yesterday on fb, I watched a video about a doc going on about big pharma and chemo. He dropped in the video that if women took Selenium 200mcg we would have no BC in 10years. Obviously, it caught my ear.

My research with the TC said there is a connection between TC and BC.

Also, a dear friend was offered a trial at Cornell using Zinc with recurrent TNBC

SOOoooooo, Are you up to doing a search on Selenium & Zinc? Sounds to me it could be a several option action for BC &TC thingy.

Totally true on that, Lover! If it hadn't been for him being my biggest source of support while I was going through the crap with BC, I doubt I would have done so well. Plus it helped that when he was dealing with the broken wrist, I was there for him

Sassy ~ Yoga_girl is brilliant! So many excellent studies are saved on her thread. Thank you for sharing!

Fart Face (using full name when he is particularly assish) had a fit with me last night about my being so heavily invested in breaking down all my test results, medicines and following relevant research studies. This was triggered by my excitement to read my just posted test results from Monday. "you don't understand what you're reading" "how can anyone one those boards know anything more than the doctors?" "you're going to just make yourself upset for no reason" "wait until you see the doctor Friday and let him tell you". When i'm pissed, my voice drops loooow.... So he got the "voice" in full force. I informed him; Yes, I do understand most of what I'm reading, If I don't, I know how to research, and those of us taking such an active part in our damned cancer treatment often times know MORE than the doctors! They can't follow EVERY area of specialty, or ALL trials and research! If I am educated and informed, I am a better patient. I will be prepared for my follow-ups. I will ask better questions, make better suggestions and make better decisions. I will be A PART of my treatment plan, not just a damned PARTICIPANT!

Fart Face hushed his mouth, sulked, and then was pretty darned happy my tests so far are looking not badder.

I feel sometimes like I am preggers again. Only instead of eating for two, I'm thinking for two image

Hah! Yes Loverly, we need those iron skillets just for "whenever"... ! We learn what to say and what not to say, but as you get older, like as in "older" like I am, sometimes you just think OTHWI (oh the hell with it)..... and you say it anyway. It just helps.... if not him, it helps me. And I never used to get cranky..... but NOW I give myself permission to sass right back when those bad moods come visiting ..... I should be used to it by now.... Almost 59 years married, and we know the true love, and the pesky habits and random outbursts of each other.

We really ARE lucky! Just remember.... what you can't tell them, or don't want to, you always have girlfriends!

I saw something the other day, or a cartoon, that said .... oh wait...

    image

Because you just hear.... "OH NOT ANOTHER PURSE!".... or whatever........... like we pay attention.

Oh dear!! I'm afraid to ask what you were like during your youth. Just a light bong on the head should do the job to snap him back to thinking straight. And try to control your anger when you do it; otherwise, he will look like Flat Stanley. Anyway, you might not look good in orange and we prefer to have you here rather than the jail house. Yup, Ms. Chevy is the wise one. No use sharing everything with someone who always have negative responses (oops, I have to be careful myself).

Mominator, love the video! Thanks for the laugh. On the outside, I see a choir singer with a cheerful smile and a proper demeanor andnow I wonder if there is a mischievous child waiting to escape
